Kundu was a revelation for me! Yes, it sounds corny, that’s what many people say. At least I try not to use the word “gem.” I have never been to Las Vegas, but I heard that casinos there are being built in the form of masterpieces of world architecture - Eiffel Tower, Colosseum and the like. Kundu is from the same series, only this is how hotels are built here. There is even a hotel in the shape of St. Basil's Cathedral. In the summer of 2016, I vacationed with friends in (near Antalya), and periodically we made forays into the surrounding attractions. That's how we ended up in Kunda.
From Kundu to Antalya by bus
I’ll say right away that there’s nothing special to do in Kundu. Here you just need to live and enjoy the surrounding splendor of architecture and nature. In principle, this is a good option and I don’t even mind exchanging our domestic St. Basil’s Cathedral for a Turkish one. At least for a while - the weather here is definitely much better. But we couldn’t afford hotels in Kundu, so we just walked around a little, looked at the buildings and went to finish the day in Antalya. From Kundu to Antalya it’s only about 10 kilometers or so, you can even walk. True, we didn’t want to walk and decided to go by bus. In order to take the bus, you need to go to the main street of the village. Many buses and minibuses (dolmus) pass through Kunda, which go to Antalya. You can get to the airport, the suburbs or the city center. On the map above I marked the intersection where we caught a minibus. Buses stop simply by moving your hand. They stood at the curb, raised their hand and stopped the bus. You can ask the driver where he is going. Our bus was moving towards the Antalya bus station, but we got off earlier, there are no problems here either - you can ask to stop anywhere. Buses run frequently, we didn't even wait fifteen minutes. It takes about 20 minutes to get to Antalya, but it depends on where you are going to get off. If you go to the bus station, you will spend half an hour or even a little more on the road.

From Kundu to Antalya by taxi
If you don’t want to bother with buses, you can call a taxi. It’s very close and travel won’t cost much – 30-35 liras (7-9 euros). By the way, you can call a taxi right from the place where we caught a minibus - there is a special telephone hanging on a pole. From Kundu to Antalya by car
I've had problems with renting a car. At first we wanted to rent a car, but then we decided that this method was not suitable for us. Still, we often abuse it, but somehow we don’t want to violate Turkish traffic rules. Prices for car rental in Turkey are divine, so as not to be unfounded, you can see for yourself. By the way, the quality of the road surface here is much better than ours, and there is also a developed system of toll highways - you can move around the country very quickly.

In fact, getting from Kundu to Antalya is not a problem at all. If you're so worried about this that you've gone online looking for answers, you can relax. There is only one in Kundu the main street and there are a lot of buses traveling along it. All buses stop on demand, and they all go to Antalya (nowhere else). Active bus traffic ends at 10-11 pm; if you don’t have time, you can take a taxi - it’s also not expensive. By the way, if there are three or four of you, the fare between a bus and a taxi will be almost the same. In the worst case scenario, remember that you can even walk to Antalya. Along the highway or right along the shore. It will take two or three hours - not so much.

Location
Lara district in Antalya is not independent administrative region city, together with the center of Antalya, Lara is part of the Muratpasa municipal district. Lara is the closest district of the city to Antalya International Airport.The most popular microdistricts of Lara are the areas directly adjacent to the sea: Şirinyalı, Fener, Yeşilbahçe, Çağlayan, Güzeloba, Kundu. Sand Sculpture Festival - Sandland
Lara beach has been hosting international festival sand sculptures. This festival is one of the largest in the world in terms of the number of participants, the volume of sand used in the construction of figures, the area occupied and the size of the sculptures. The festival is held annually in the summer season on an area of about 10 thousand m2. Approximately 3 weeks before the opening, artists from different countries alone or in groups of 2-3 people work to create sculptures. Only river sand and water are used during construction. The festival site is open to visitors daily from 9.30 am to 11.00 pm. The theme of the festival changes every year, in 2017 it is “Wonders of the World and Mythology”. In the evening, the illumination of sculptures and music corresponding to the theme of the festival creates an indescribable atmosphere.
Entrance to the festival site is 6 Euros (22 liras) for adults and 3 euros (10 liras) for children from 3 to 12 years old; children under 3 years old have free admission.
Attraction "Upside Down House"
The first “upside down house” attraction in Turkey and the 13th in the whole world is also located in Lara, in the Güzeloba microdistrict. This is a fascinating place for adults and children. Things that are familiar to us appear from a completely different, unusual perspective, so much so that you can even feel dizzy - an excellent test of the vestibular system. Butterfly Park
In 2015, the Butterfly Park was opened in the Güzeloba microdistrict by the Antalya city administration. The project is a closed Botanical Garden with total area 1600 m2, which is home to about 50 species of butterflies from 25 countries. Antalya Butterfly Park is the largest in Turkey and the only closed park. There are more than 1000 individuals of all kinds of butterflies, thousands of bees, ants and birds, more than 10,000 ornamental species of plants and flowers. Here you will see the largest butterfly in the world - Attacus Atlas (Peacock Eye), whose wingspan is 26 cm, get acquainted with the work of bees in producing honey, and observe life in an anthill.
