Where there are sandy beaches in Corfu. The best sandy beaches of Corfu. Tourists' statements about a huge number of entertainments

Each Greek island is good in its own way and has its own unique characteristics and zest. Corfu, the main island of the Ionian Islands, also has its own unique face. What attracts and amazes Corfu tourists? Let's take a look at 5 main features of a holiday on this island.

1. Features of nature and resort villages

Of all the Ionian Islands, Corfu is the most northerly. Its length is 64 km, width - 32 km. Length coastline- almost 218 kilometers. In the north, the island is very mountainous, while the southern part is located in the lowlands. Thus, the north of the island can be considered more picturesque. The entire island is surrounded by olive and citrus groves. There are also enough conifers in Corfu, but, frankly, there are not as many of them as, for example, in Thassos.

For those who want to feel the flavor of this island without leaving their home, we recommend reading the excellent book "My Family and Other Animals" by Gerald Durrell, dedicated to the life of the writer and his family in Corfu. Well, for those who dare to personally make sure of the beauty and uniqueness of the Corfuan nature, we remind you that this year the charter from Minsk flies throughout the season, from June 4 to September 27, the duration of the rest is 10, 11 days, tour operators consolidate the programs “ Aerotravel "and" Canulas Travel ".

Attention! One of the main features of Corfu is that due to the cold currents on the west coast, the water is slightly colder than on the east. This does not mean that you or your children will be uncomfortable swimming in Paleokastritsa, but the magnificent color of the local water, so to speak, will invigorate. You need to be prepared for this. However, you also need to prepare for warm, almost "steamy" water on east coast islands.

Resorts in Corfu are scattered all over the coast. The villages of the eastern part of the island have developed infrastructure and rich nightlife(for example, Gouvia). The most prestigious resorts of the island are located here, among which we would like to highlight, perhaps, Kommeno.

North-east and south are suitable for family vacation surrounded by nature. Benitses and Kanoni are famous for their shallow waters and calm sea, Kavos for its long beach.

Pearl west coast- Paleokastritsa - suitable for amateurs active rest... By all accounts, this resort has one of the best beaches in Corfu.

By wealth historical heritage Corfu can be compared with the island of Crete, also offered for flights from Minsk.

This is largely due to the fact that the picturesque and rich island in different times was influenced by various cultures and, as a result, absorbed all the best civilizational achievements of mankind.

Just a little bit of history.

In 395, the island joined the Roman Empire, and then it belonged to the Byzantines. In the 13th century, the Venetians came to power. They ruled the island until the 18th century, so the Venetian influence on music, language and cuisine is visible in Corfu to this day. The long-reigning Venetians were replaced by the French, who, however, through a short time drove out the Russian fleet under the command of Ushakov. And also not for long. In 1807, as a result of the war between Russia and Turkey, the Ionian Islands were given to France, but after the fall of Napoleon, the archipelago went under the protectorate of England. Only by 1864 does the reunification of Corfu with Greece become possible.

It is well known that on small islands, the best way to get acquainted with nature and sights is to travel around everything on your own in a rented car with a good map and high-quality guidebooks in your hands. But if you have to choose among national teams sightseeing tours, then we recommend opting for the following options:

Classic sightseeing tour in Corfu

This route starts at the Achilleion Palace. The palace was built specifically for the Empress of Austria, Elizabeth of Habsburg. Having visited Corfu for the first time, the empress was amazed at the beauty of these places, by her order, an elegant and magnificent palace decorated with sculptures of Achilles. This elegant building with its magnificent gardens and interiors is today the main attraction of Corfu.

Further, the route leads tourists to a distillery, where all products are made exclusively from kumquat - a dwarf bitter orange - another local attraction. By the way, kumquat grows only in Corfu and in some places in China.

After that, travelers head to Paleokastritsa, famous for its magnificent landscapes and extraordinary beauty water in the bay. You can go for a walk through the grottoes or just enjoy lunch in a Greek tavern with great views of the surrounding landscapes.

Excursion to the islands of Paxos and Antipaxos

This journey to two charming Greek islands takes place aboard a comfortable yacht. The first island to be visited is Paxos, where time seems to have stood still. The air filled with heady aromas, old fishing boats, white beaches, colorful streets and, of course, wonderful taverns. After traveling to the first island, you will embark on a boat trip to Antipaxos. The main tourist attraction of this island is the deep turquoise color of the water. This, perhaps, you will not see anywhere else in the vicinity. In general, the excursion will appeal to those who want to enjoy the wonderful nature, excellent swimming and delicious Greek cuisine.

Sightseeing tour of Kerkyra

The excursion begins in the Old Port, on a magnificent glass-bottom yacht called Calypso. Tourists admire the depths of the sea through the transparent bottom of the yacht, as well as watch the show, which is shown by seals under the guidance of professional trainers.

The further path lies to the Kanoni peninsula, which is located four kilometers from Corfu-Kerkyra. This peninsula offers magnificent views of the Blachern Monastery and the Pondikonisi Islands. Then tourists walk around the capital itself, which has many amazing sights. They see the Old Fortress, which was built by both the Byzantines and the Venetians, and as a result, it makes a fantastic impression.

Further, travelers will see the famous Spianada Square, New fortress, Museum of Oriental Art, the former residence of the King of Greece and the Church of St. Spyridon, where the relics of the saint are kept in a special sarcophagus decorated with precious stones. Well, and, of course, the highlight of your stay in the capital is a walk along Liston Street, which is similar to the Parisian Rivoli.

Paleokastritsa. This is one of the most beautiful places on the island. Paleokastritsa is a cliff overgrown with greenery, beautiful bays with cool water and sandy beaches... Paleokastritsa is a mecca for divers. The best beaches in Corfu are here. Not far from Paleokastritsa on a rock is the Byzantine fortress Angelokastro.

Agios Gordis. The village has a wonderful three-kilometer beach and wonderful views.

Sidari. Located 35 km from Kerkyra. One of the most beautiful places in the region is the sandy channel across the sea, called the Canal d Amour (love channels). From Sidari you can go to the coast of Peroulades in famous village Avliotes, as well as the village of Agios Stefanos with a secluded cape, on which there is a lighthouse.

Pelekas. Located next to the beautiful beaches of the western part of the island, from the village the road leads to the top of the hill, from which you can enjoy panoramic views of the sea and the central part of the island. Glyfada. According to many experts, the best and longest sandy beach in Corfu with shallow water. The beach is ideal for families.

4. Leisure style in Corfu and cuisine

Don't look for a very hectic hangout in Corfu! The island is for lovers of exquisite, high-quality, rich in impressions of rest. The ideal way to spend your time in Corfu is to rent a car and explore on your own picturesque beaches and picturesque villages on the island. Renting a car in Corfu will cost about 60 euros per day. The roads on the island are good, the traffic is very slow, average speed 40-50 kilometers per hour.

Corfu has two classic cuisines: Italian and Greek. Seafood dishes are also excellently prepared here.

5. Iconic hotels

With hotels on the island, everything is more than happy. There are apartments, mid-range hotels, and, of course, magnificent five-star hotels.

Of the most popular "five", it should be noted, perhaps, Grecotel Corfu Imperial 5 *. The hotel is located on a small peninsula - thanks to this convenient location, almost all rooms and bungalows of the hotel have a sea view. He is buried in greenery.

In this, Grecotel Eva Palace 5 * is in no way inferior to him. This hotel positions itself as a place for a romantic getaway: families with small children are accepted here only in high season, all other months only couples rest here.

From the category of a little more democratic "five" we recommend paying attention to Kontokali Bay Resort& Spa and Grand Mediterraneo

Among the four-star hotels, the Aquis chain has an excellent reputation. Aquis Sandy Hotel Beach Resort 4 * located in great location- Agios Georgis. Outwardly, it is absolutely simple, but located on one of the most beautiful beaches Mediterranean Sea... There is absolutely unusual white water here, as at the bottom there is a white slab with waves of reclaimed sand. The entrance to the sea is shallow, and here it is quite shallow, so the water warms up amazingly. This is a very suitable place for families with children, as the hotel has a mini-club; in addition, it offers all food systems - from breakfast to all inclusive.

One of the most popular three-star hotels on the island is Messonghi Beach 3 * - the largest in Corfu. This hotel is good for families with children; it occupies a huge territory, on which a nice little train goes. It has a lovely sandy beach and nice rooms. The hotel will not leave anyone indifferent, everyone will like it, besides, it is also inexpensive here. Practices the all-inclusive system.

Expert opinion

Dmitry Platkov, head of the VLP company:

“North Corfu is the Adriatic Sea, and since I, in principle, am not indifferent to the Adriatic, I will probably rank this part as one of the most beautiful. This is a truly amazing place in terms of landscapes, relief - beautifully so that it takes your breath away. There is a lot of greenery here, along the coast there are grottoes, small islands - it all looks very impressive. Sidari, famous for its landscapes, is also located here - a place of unique beauty, with picturesque Channels of Love. Most of the wide sandy beaches are found on the Adriatic, although they can be found all over the island. But it is the north of Corfu that is famous for its sandy beaches, which in the northwest begin to alternate with powerful rocky outcrops into the sea. The most beautiful place in this part of the island is Paleokastritsa.

The rest of the island, its west and east coast, is the Ionian Sea. It is warmer than the Adriatic, it is a generally accepted fact. On the east coast, north of Corfu Town, there are many cliff-top beaches, and between them there are numerous coves where you can safely enter the sea from the coast. And on the west coast, in the area of Glyfada and Agios Georgis, there are wide luxurious sandy beaches and dunes. The picturesque Korission Lake is also located here. As in the northwest, in the southeast of the island, beaches can alternate: in one bay - sand, in the next - pebbles or rocky outcropping with beach platforms.

Among the large settlements, one can distinguish Acharavi in the north, the Paleokastritsa region in the west and, perhaps, Kavos in the south. Everything else is very small, but extremely nice and cozy villages scattered along the coast, there are a lot of them on the island. It is possible that in some village there will be a club that gathers tourists and residents of the surrounding villages, or a tavern with live music. But in general, the atmosphere in Corfu will be calm, although the hotels here are large and try to offer guests maximum services and good service.

If the client wants entertainment and parties, he needs to settle near Kerkyra Town in order to be able at any time to go to Liston - the central street of the city - and there to join the nightlife. This is the main Entertainment Center islands, the resorts are much quieter. The exceptions are Sidari and Kavos, two small villages that are very popular among English youth.

Hotels on Kofu are characteristic, each has its own special atmosphere - this is not Spain, where hotels can provide good service and food, but at the same time not have their own face. You will not find faceless hotels in Corfu, and in this regard I really like them: they cannot be confused with each other. The hotels offer different food systems - breakfasts, half board, all inclusive. The latter system is most common in family-style three-star and four-star hotels. Hotels that are not suitable for families with children offer breakfast and half board.

If a person plans to travel to the northwest coast without children, I would recommend taking only breakfast in hotels. There are many taverns where you can enjoy excellent and inexpensive lunch and dinner. You should not "lock" yourself in four walls, since many taverns are located in the most picturesque places, hang over the sea or have a view of the monastery.

What is also very cool in Corfu - from the island to get to the "floating" monasteries in Meteora is much easier than from Halkidiki. If you have never been there, I recommend it. On the mainland, the road takes a very long time, there are many serpentine sections, and from Corfu you first take a ferry, and then only 2 hours remain on the new road.

There is also a very interesting excursion program to Italian Bari, also with a ferry ride. Excursion from Corfu includes a tour of Bari and the fabulous Apulian town of Alberobello. It is not cheap - it costs about 300 euros. But the impressions will remain really unforgettable. "

The best beaches in Corfu are located mainly on the western side. Among them - Agios Gordios, Paleokastritsa and Glyfada... With clear waters and lush greenery, Corfu's beaches attract many tourists every summer. Almost all of them are sandy, although there are several pebble areas among them. It is believed that the water on the west coast is colder than on the east.

The most famous beaches in Corfu

Paleokastritsa

Paleokastritsa is perhaps the most famous picturesque village of Corfu, 25 km northwest of Kerkyra. "Paleokastritsa" literally means "Old Fortress". Sources claim that the fortress really stood on rocky mountain, where the monastery of the Virgin Mary is now located.

The village has six sandy and pebble beaches surrounded by olive groves, which are scattered throughout the area. The water is very cold here, and undersea world very interesting. There are small boats that go to isolated beaches - small coves with turquoise water and numerous caves. The main beach of Paleokastritsa is quite small, but very famous for its cold waters and amazing views. It is considered one of the best beaches on Greek islands and is surrounded by many bars and taverns, so it is rarely quiet during the day.

Agios Gordios

The Paradise Bay of Agios Gordios is one of the largest bays in the western part of the island, easily accessible by bus, taxi or private car. The resort village is located in a beautiful bay surrounded by mountains, olive groves and vineyards. The picturesque long sandy beach is fully developed and offers opportunities for all kinds of water sports. The beach is always crowded and noisy - thanks to the shallow and warm waters off the coast, many families with small children rest here. Don't forget to take a photo with the local symbol, Ortholithi, a massive rock emerging from the water in the southern part of the bay.

Glyfada

Glyfada is a picturesque green bay where the blue sky meets the emerald sea. It is one of the most popular beaches on the island, located 16 km west of Kerkyra and adjacent to the Gulf of Agios Gordios. Glyfada has been awarded the Blue Flag for its crystal clear sea. An extended strip of soft golden sand is surrounded by powerful cliffs. The beach has sun loungers and umbrellas, shops and taverns. Glyfada attracts mainly young people, it is noisy and fun. The beach is also perfect for families with small children, as there are shallow waters, clear water and a fairly calm sea. Glyfada is one of the finest examples of the island's sandy beaches and an excellent choice in close proximity to the capital of Corfu. In addition, there is a riding club, a golf course and Aqualand water park just 4 km away.

Mirtiotissa

Mirtiotissa is a small sandy beach on the west coast of Corfu. English writer Lawrence Durrell called it the most beautiful beach in the world. Mirtiotissa today is one of the most popular places on the island of Corfu, although not so long ago only a select few knew about it. The beach owes its name to a beautiful monastery, which stands on the side of a mountain, high above the sea. In fact, there are three miniature beaches nestled right under the steep cliffs. The left one, with golden sand, just over 20 m in diameter, is the most famous nudist beach on the island.

Nissaki

Nissaki is one of the most beautiful beaches in Corfu. A beautiful sandy coast surrounded by rocks, located between the villages of Barbati and Kassiopi, 22 km north of Kerkyra. There are only a few tourist attractions on this small beach, which is located off the road. The bay of Nissaki is protected from strong winds, and the entrance to the sea is very gentle. The water is clean, so snorkelling lovers can admire the underwater inhabitants. Near the beach there is a small picturesque port where fishing boats dock. The beach is surrounded by good taverns serving fresh seafood and local specialties.

Issos

Golden sand and azure sea - this is how you can characterize the Issos beach, located 35 km south of Kerkyra. Endless coastline with unique sand dunes and crystal clear water - perfect place for family holidays. The rich local flora divides the shore by Lake Korission, the island's unique ecosystem. On its shores you can find waterfowl, ibises and herons, as well as turtles, otters and other animals. The beach is well equipped, along with many tourist sites, there is also a lifeguard tower and a center aquatic species sports. Issos experiences strong winds and is the best windsurfing and kitesurfing spot on the island. Lush forests and a lake create a unique atmosphere for hiking and the high sand dunes offer a beautiful view of the sunset.

Channel of love

The village of Sidari, located 36 km from the capital of the island, is known as one of the best tourist resorts in Corfu. Not far away, just to the west, is the famous "Channel of Love" ("Channel d'Amour"). This is a tunnel compressed by rocks on both sides. By tradition, couples who swim through it together will live happily ever after, and those who have not yet found their soul mate will soon find a soul mate. There are beaches with golden sand and shallow waters next to the canal, which are great for families with children.

Logas Peroulades

Logas Peroulades is a narrow strip of sand surrounded by the tallest cliffs on the island. It is located 36 km northwest of Corfu town and is considered to be one of the most beautiful places on the island. This beach is famous for its sheer vertical cliffs and beautiful azure sea. By the way, at high tide you will not find the beach itself, the water rises close to the shore, respectively, there are no sun loungers and umbrellas here either. But the beauty you see is definitely worth a visit. beautiful place... A stone staircase leads to the beach, and upstairs there are atmospheric taverns and a bar where you can enjoy the surrounding views and spectacular sunsets over a frappe. Also at the top there is an unusual observation deck with a glass bottom, hanging right over the cliff - here you can take gorgeous photos.

Kavos

Kavos is located in the southern part of Corfu. There are many young people here who hang out on the beach from early morning until late at night. Located about 50 km south of Kerkyra, Kavos is considered one of the most visited and active beaches on the island. The three-kilometer sandy beach is well equipped, there are umbrellas, sun beds, showers. The water here is clean, the strip of shallow water is long. There are many snack bars, taverns, beach bars, hotels and shops around. With the onset of dusk, the beach turns into the main get-together of the island - nightclubs and establishments are open here until early morning.

Dassia

Dassia - popular resort located between Kerkyra and the village of Ipsos, 13 km from the capital. Directly opposite the village there is a magnificent narrow beach that stretches for a couple of kilometers. It consists of sand and pebbles with two rows of sun loungers and umbrellas for those who want to enjoy a comfortable sunbathing, while the trees at the back of the beach provide natural shade. The beach offers a beautiful view of the Albanian coast, the surrounding islets and the mesmerizing Pantokrator monastery. This beach is quite lively and developed, boats can be rented for small boat trips - a ride along the coast, you will discover small coves that are ideal for complete seclusion.

However, this is where the section of my "very exclusive" advice begins and is ready to explain why I am so ready to evaluate my recommendations.

The first thing that the Internet recommends after typing in the search engine "Beaches of Corfu" is a listing of the beautiful, world-famous beaches of the island. There are supposedly eleven of them, and they are located along the entire coast. The main advice of seasoned travelers who have already tried these beaches is to rent a car - and rightfully so. It is very difficult to get to many beaches without your own transport. Of course, nothing is impossible - the buses run regularly, the air conditioners in them are very caressingly refreshing, so the ride is pleasant. But everyone has their own priorities (you can say "troubles"). Here I am one of those who swim, but do not sunbathe. In the best case, I will take a walk by the water, in the sun - so I am not interested in sun loungers. And I don't spend much time on the beach either. I just want to sit next to the sea, in the shade of the forest. Swim and again in the blessed shade, where a light coastal breeze will caress you ...

I hear a lot of objections - I can answer everything, but, nevertheless, somehow, with age, the pleasant "wallowing on the sand" left my life. In addition, on every trip I want to see, visit as much as possible, but without haste, without stress - resting and rejoicing.

And if you add to this the lack of desire or ability to rent a car!

There is one more factor that influences the exclusivity of my recommendations. As a rule, tourists do not stop in the city of Kerkyra itself (I will not explain why). People come here for several days, or even hours, living somewhere on the coast, where there are bathing places. We went to the city of Kerkyra and understood that a week's stay would not be enough to get to know the city and the whole island (I repeat - relaxing and without haste). In addition, we went on a pilgrimage, and this gave the trip a special flavor, suggested special conditions for staying on the island. Thus, we would like to swim in the city, in Kerkyra.

I read and heard that there is a small city beach somewhere in the area of the Old Fortress, but this advice was immediately challenged by the statements of other experts: Kerkyra is not a beach city, so rent a car and ...

On the very first day, we went to look for a worthy place for swimming, fulfilling a pleasant, previously set task - not a day without the sea! We left the house, went down the next staircase that leads from the Byzantine Museum to the embankment and went in the direction of the Old Fortress.

Good afternoon friends! Greece resorts are great for summer vacation on the sea. Today I will tell you about the most interesting beaches of the Greek Corfu according to the reviews of Russian vacationers.

Corfu Island is located at the intersection of two seas. On the one hand, it is washed by the waters of the Adriatic Sea, and on the other, by the Ionian Sea. therefore the best beaches Corfu varies greatly.

The beach can be safely called a legend, it is incredibly beautiful and romantic, it is a thin strip of coast, delimited from the outside world by tall cliffs (100m).

Available at low tide only. When the tide comes, the water rises high and reaches the rocks. Tourists get to the beach by two steep stairs, not designed for people in poor physical shape. Due to the inaccessibility, there is no infrastructure at all.

A stunning place on the beach is the upstairs terrace. The view from there is dizzying, and the best photos are taken during the crimson sunset.

Another popular beach in Corfu. It is located 16 km from Kerkyra, on the western tip of the island. It got its name from the church of Agios Gordios - a beautiful temple that will be of interest to connoisseurs of architecture.

The beach is located in a bay, cliffs rise around. Olive groves and vineyards grow on them. The views are fantastic. They will delight selfie fans indescribable.

This is the best place for families with small children, there is a shallow sea with a smooth sunset, pleasant sand on the shore. The kid will appreciate this fact.

The infrastructure on Agios Gordios is well developed - there are sun loungers, umbrellas, cafes, showers, toilets. Large selection of water activities.

Nissaki beach

The beach is located between Kassiopi and Barbati, and consists of many tiny coves inviting seclusion. Finding a more romantic corner in Corfu will not work. The coast is strewn with large pebbles. The pebbles have a snow-white shade and come into contrast with blue waters... Nissaki is incredibly attractive at sunset. Lovers from all over the world come here to see the sun hiding behind the horizon, plunging into the blue depths.

The entry into the water is gentle, and the sea itself is rather shallow and warm, which is very important for families with children. Another group of tourists who adore Nissaki are divers. The clear waters are rich in animals that scuba divers love to look at.

There are many taverns along the coast, serving the finest lunches and dinners, teeming with fish and seafood.

Paleokastritsa beaches

Paleokastritsa is one of best resorts Corfu. The beaches here fully meet all the requirements that even the most spoiled tourist can present. Local infrastructure implies comfort, all imaginable and inconceivable amenities. There are many hotels in the vicinity of the coastline, which unites six beaches.

The main beaches of Paleokastritsa are sandy, with small pebbles in places. The water is cooler here than in other regions of the island. On the other hand, there are practically no winds - thanks to the high cliffs covered with green vegetation, fencing sections of the beach from each other, making the area picturesque. The sea is clean, the recreation area has been awarded the Blue Flag.

There are many activities on the beach for lovers of active water recreation. You can commit boat trip going to the rocky caves. Such a journey will be remembered for a long time. Such beauty is difficult to imagine just looking at a photo, it is better to see it with your own eyes.

Sidari beach

Another interesting beach Corfu is Sidari - a kind of mix of picturesque landscapes and excellent infrastructure. The most diverse audience comes here - married couples, elderly people, young people. Active tourists have the opportunity to ride water ATVs and paragliders.

Of particular interest are small bays that delimit sandy headlands, they can be found traveling along the coast. One of the natural attractions of the island, which is associated with romantic beliefs, is called the "Channel of Love", and is a narrow strip of sea between sand dunes. There is a passage in the rock that looks like an arch. It is believed that if you swim under it, guessing the name of your beloved, the relationship will definitely work out.

Perhaps you have not yet decided which resort in Greece to choose, read the article. Alternatively, consider vacationing in Cyprus. Comparison of these two countries from the point of view of a tourist who does not care where to go, if only in the summer at sea, read.

If you have interesting stories about your vacation on the island, write to me, I will definitely publish them in the section "Readers' Travels", see the details. And on the topic of the article, leave comments, I will read them with pleasure. Subscribe to updates, I recently changed the design, which made the resource more convenient for the reader.

This is all that I wanted to tell you today, I say goodbye for a while, see you again!

Corfu beaches reviews

This morning we went to see the beaches of Corfu.
Drive a rented car in Corfu
Let's go from the place where we live now - Villa Artemis and drive around Corfu counterclockwise.
That is, we are going north along the eastern (northeastern) coast of Corfu.
Too lazy - having driven from Nissaki before Paleokastritsy- turned home.

The sun shines directly into the camera lens and if I wanted to photograph something, I would get an overexposed image.
Therefore, I do not stop: it will not work to capture the bays of the northeast that come across on the way, and there is nowhere to stop - the roads to Corfu are narrow.

Only once we drive off the road to the beach, my wife read that the beach is famous - Agni(Agni).
I don’t know what it’s famous for in tourist guides, but the place is worse than ours. Fireplaces and did not even uncover the camera - just a bay with boats and yachts.
The parking is far from the beach.
I didn't want to swim here.

The second beach on our way to the north coast of Corfu is the beach Kogevin(Kogevina)
This beach is better than Agni.
But it is also inferior to ours.
But there is parking, the entrance, like ours, is pebble.
The water is clear, but there is no zest.

If you drive a little further along the road, beyond the cape in quiet bay there is a shrimp farm.
At first I assumed that oysters were grown here, but then I looked at the shape of the cells in the water - for oysters they are square in shape, like in the photo

Beaches in North Corfu

Imperceptibly we move to north coast Corfu.
You can feel the difference: the beaches here are like the shores of some estuary or swamp.
The beach is dirty in color and resembles a mixture of clay and earthy sand.

Ankle-deep for tens of meters.
The sand sticks to your feet and is difficult to wash off.
The tactile impressions of contact are unpleasant.

I cross out the beaches in the north of Corfu from the places on the island pleasing to the eye.
I do not like the places of congestion of hotels, package tourists, souvenir shops.
These are the beaches: Kalamaki(Kalamaki) and Seki(Seki)

Beaches Sidari(Sidari) - muddy water, dirty sand, stink of rot, a lot of sun beds and hotels.
The depth of the sea can be seen in the photo.
Right here Channel of Love(Canal d'Amur).

Something like sucked from a finger: a shallow ravine punched with a thickness of petrified clay.
They say that if you swim along this channel, all the women will be yours.

Here's the truth - I would really like this, but there was absolutely no desire to swim in this puddle.
This attraction can be deleted from the plans for visiting places in Corfu.

Cape Drastis

The next stop is the cape Drastis- the northern point of the island of Corfu.
Do not park your car where everyone else does it - drive further along the country road, why stomp in the heat on foot?
We did not go to the cape itself - I launched it there: I took a photo of the video without an entrance ticket of 10 euros.
The place is beautiful - I recommend it.

Further along the road we drove to the beach Loggas(Loggas)
This is not a swimming beach, although you can go downstairs.
You better go to the bar Panorama and take a selfie on the glass visor over the precipice.
To your right there will be a steep bank of petrified clay.
You can see it and take a picture - see the map above.

Beaches in West Corfu

We are already driving along the west coast of Corfu and after Arila beach we are driving south to the beach Agio Georgios Pagon.
Here we finally took a dip.
The water is clear, but icy. This is a feature of Corfu - on the west coast the water is much colder than on the east - cold currents.
On the shore of the beach, yellow sand, the entrance to the sea is deep, small pebbles at the bottom.

There were promised 3 beaches in secluded coves.
In fact, there are probably beaches there, but you have to leave your car somewhere in the village on the mountain and stomp on foot to these beaches for about 20 minutes.

There is an inscription on the asphalt No parking around, no public parking was found.
Besides, stomping on foot under the scorching sun is not our method.
The drone also did not send there. No photo.
Let's go further south - to Paleokastritsa

Paleokastritsa beaches

Paleokastritsa is a very beautiful place - in this place the coast is nibbled by numerous coves, some of which have been privatized by hotels or bars.
Paleokastritsa has several public beaches- the port can serve as a reference point.
There is a large public car park. But there are a lot of people. After our cozy and small beach in the northeast, it is uncomfortable here.

Organized tourists are brought to one of the public beaches of Paleokastritsa by buses - such as an excursion. It is possible that someone will understand my horror from this. Nevertheless, the people enjoy the sea: they swim, take selfies and photo sessions with mermaids.

Conclusions on the best location it is too early to do for a holiday in Corfu - we have here one more day before the trip to Albania, but I correctly guessed the present place, which I advise you too.
North East Corfu from the beach Barbati in the south to Kalami in the north of the riviera of Corfu.

West coast beaches south of Paleokastritsa

We had time to look at several beaches south of Paleokastritsa:
Ermones beach shared by two taverns and a hotel.
The beach is small and quite cozy.

There are small pebbles on the shore, the entrance to the water is good and comfortable.
The water is clear, there are no waves. It is best to swim here in the evening when the water warms up. The bottom is hard sand.

If you move to the right side of the beach, then further along the coast there is a narrow path and you can put a car and stomp to the bay with a secret beach.
There are nudists.

Myrtiotissa beach

This is very beautiful beach with very difficult parking.
If you're lucky, you will find a place to park your car downstairs.
Otherwise, you will have to smoke with rubber on a steep rise and park at the tavern or on the side of the road, and then stomp down and up on foot.

The beach is small and consists of several islets of yellow sand.
There are no waves. Entering the water is very comfortable.
The water is clear as a tear. The place was chosen by nudists, but they cluster around the edges and do not interfere with life.

Glyfada beach
I don't like it in the picture, so I took a picture of it from above.
Nothing special and a lot of people.

Pelekas beach
This is horrible.
Look at the photo:

That's all. All beaches are marked on the map - you can use it for navigation.
