Coast of Burma. All about beach holidays in Myanmar. To Elephant Camp

Myanmar (or Burma) is a country in South-East Asia. The place, of course, is extremely unpopular among our compatriots. I don’t remember that any agency has ever offered me tours to Myanmar, and Burma doesn’t appear in travel newsletters on social networks. Poverty and political instability in the country completely discourage many tourists from interested in Burma. Of course, it is much easier to go to Thailand with its active holidays, luxurious attractions and good beaches.

But, comrades, Myanmar! Talk about her! So, in fact, is it worth going there? What's so good about it, about this Myanmar?

To begin with, it is worth recognizing that in all Southeast Asian countries there are whole mountains of unresolved problems. Like everywhere else, but there are especially many here. Like disappearances in Laos, extrajudicial killings in Cambodia, etc. Well, Burma did not distinguish itself. The military junta no longer rules the roost in Myanmar, but problems still abound. Well, at least all political prisoners were released in 2013. And then there is ethnic cleansing of the Muslim population! And forced labor! About the latter: forced labor used to be practiced on a large scale in Myanmar, in particular in rural regions, and with the coming to power of the junta it became even worse. After years of negotiations and much effort by international organizations, the situation in Burma has improved significantly, although forced labor is still used in some places. In general, there is a problem with human rights in Burma! Despite... read more

Prices for holidays in Mandalay. January 2017.

tour cost

During winter holidays I traveled a little around Myanmar, starting from Yangon and continuing in the center of the country in the city of Mandalay. In order to get to Myanmar, I had to spend 38,000 rubles on airfare to Bangkok, $25 on a visa and another $20 on moving to Yangon. Buses run quite frequently from Yangon to Mandalay; tickets can be bought at the station and at historical center city near the Sule Pagoda for $8-10 (first/highest class). We drove overnight, arrived in Mandalay at 5 am, sat at the bus station (it’s on the outskirts of the city) for 1.5 hours and got to the center by city bus for $0.3. I checked into the Mahar Hotel without prior reservation. A single there costs $18, this is a typical price for inexpensive hotels, sometimes cheaper, but it’s cramped and creepy. There are enough tourists in the city in January; some hotels can be 100% full.

Eat interesting excursion(on English language) to a village 20 kilometers from the city. There you can not only admire rural life, but also learn how to cook local dishes. It costs $30. And they can take you to the waterfalls for $30.

Food and products

They are not fundamentally different from Yangon. In a cafe, one typical dish (rice or noodles with something) costs $1.25. In a restaurant it can be two or more times more expensive. The cheapest food: bananas on the market (large paw - $0.5), instant noodles, water in liter bottles ($0.15 each). There are few dairy products, expensive cheeses. Local ice cream is for everyone.

Aye Myit Tar restaurant is a good place to get acquainted with Myanmar cuisine.

Souvenirs and other goods

When it comes to clothing in Myanmar, it makes sense to buy local loungers (men's and women's), which cost an average of $5, and wicker hats for $1-2.

In my opinion, they hardly produce their own electronics, so it’s better to buy them in Thailand or China, and as a souvenir, you can bring local tea in beautiful packaging to Russia. From $2 per 100 grams.

Cost of services and entertainment

In Mandalay you will need to pay $10 for a ticket to the “Historical Zone”. It includes a palace on an island in the city, several beautiful pagodas and the outskirts of the city, including two former capitals Myanmar. The city has a zoo and a Ferris wheel for $1 and a small museum for $2. For $2 you can take a boat ride to the city of Mingun on the other side of the river. It is famous for its huge bell.

For $2 you can take a ride in local, not very comfortable transport, to the neighboring town of Pyi-U-Lwin, where there is a large botanical garden; a ticket for foreigners costs $5.

Impressions from a holiday in January

January, like all winter months, is good for a holiday in Ngapali. Sunny, warm and, most importantly, no precipitation. This is the wettest region of Myanmar. I went there for three nights during a trip to Myanmar at the beginning of the year. Consequently, I spent 38,000 rubles on airfare to Bangkok (and back), $25 on a visa, $20 on a trip from Bangkok to the border and further to Yangon on civilian buses, and another $15 for a bus trip to Ngapali. You can also fly to it, approximately $80. What to do at the resort?

You can go trekking in the surrounding villages of the Rakhine National Region.

You can also take a boat ride along the coast, play golf (a popular sport in Myanmar, due to the presence of the military as an elite for many years), ride a catamaran or kayak, rent a bicycle and go to fishing villages.

Among the architectural monuments I can mention the Zalun Monastery, two pagodas, and a Buddha statue.

If you are tired of swimming, you should take a walk to the regional center of Thandwe, where you can see not only a Buddhist monastery, but also a Baptist church. A typical Myanmar regional center, divided by a river into two parts. There's even a prison there!

There is a good sandy beach, but if there isn’t enough of it, there are also distant beaches that can only be reached by boat.

The infrastructure includes umbrellas, sun loungers, and lifebuoys.

The resort village is not suitable for shopping; you need to walk several kilometers to the market in the regional center of Thandwe. There is also a relatively decent store there. The selection of goods is no different from other cities, better than shopping study in Yangon or Mandalay, where there is more choice and prices can be lower.

Where can I eat?

The most expensive restaurants are located along the coast. You can find cheaper ones in the regional center or on the way to it - Htay Htay Kitchen Ngapali.

There are no fast foods, "people's canteens in resort village did not see.

About the quality of food and service

Cuisine - Myanmar, including local version, Indian, Bengali, Chinese, European dishes.

Prices are among the highest in the country, good quality seafood, but I wouldn’t buy pizza with cheese here, I don’t know where it was brought from.

How much does it cost to eat? About food prices.

Lunch at a typical restaurant will cost $20 for two. In the cafe, prices are normal - $1.25 per dish, for example, rice with chicken and vegetables. Sometimes everything can be very unexpected. For $2.50 I ordered rice and fish, and they also brought broth and six bowls of additives, sometimes quite spicy, such as dried fish and chili pepper.

Entertainment

My favorite excursion was to Pearl Island. Costs 25-30$. There is a seafood restaurant on the island where you can dive and fish. Not far from Ngapali there is a camp with elephants, but I wasn’t interested in the prices, probably also $30.

The most expensive thing is the climb hot-air balloon, 300$.

Pros of a holiday in Ngapali

2.Beautiful sunsets.

3. Not crowded.

4. A little-known resort, this is not Goa, Sanya or Antalya.

5. National color and islands nearby.

Disadvantages of holidays in Ngapali

1.Prices. Some of the highest among ASEAN countries.

2. It takes a long time to get there. 15 hours from Yangon.

4. In fact, there is no Russian-speaking public.

5. There are no museums, botanical garden, ethnographic park, aquarium and other attributes of civil resorts.

6. In Myanmar they don’t like it when tourists spend the night in a tent, but in the dry season I would like to put up a tent in such a place for a couple of nights.

Is it worth vacationing in Ngapali?

I would like to visit Ngapali again in 10 years to see how the resort has changed. Just like this time with a short visit of a couple of days.

I can recommend it, but without much enthusiasm; after all, Myanmar resorts are not well known, but it is expensive and getting to Ngapali is more difficult than to Phuket or Penang. Therefore, if a person has a goal to discover something new, then why not relax here?

It is enough to open a geographical atlas of the world to be convinced that this is a country where beach holidays are more than popular. The country has about 2 thousand km of coastline along the Indian Ocean, not to mention the coasts of the Bay of Bengal and the Adamant Sea. Therefore, be sure that when choosing a beach holiday at the sea or near the ocean, you will be satisfied with both the local nature and the quality of service of local hotels.

Beaches of Myanmar

  1. Of course, this entire huge coastal area is divided into separate paradises. If you create a rating of popularity and greatest suitability for tourists, then the beach will top it. This is exactly the case when, looking through photos from a vacation in, you can say with firm confidence that the white sand and clear, clean water are not photoshopped. There are no dangerous animals at the resort - not even sea urchins, no starfish, nothing that could overshadow the rest. Despite the fact that Ngapali Beach is considered the most prestigious, there are no crowds of sunbathers here. And compared to the resorts of Thailand, it is not crowded at all. There are hotels and bungalows along the entire coastline, and a little further you can find a fishing village. The beach is located 45 minutes from. It is best to go here during the dry season, which lasts from October to April.
  2. The beach is famous for its slightly less developed infrastructure than Ngapali. He is separated by a 5 hour bus ride. However, having overcome this distance, about 15 km of wonderful sandy beach, abundance of greenery and clear waters of the Indian Ocean. In addition, tourists can enjoy a picnic on an island in the Ayeyarwaddy Delta, and just an hour's drive away is a village known as Elephant Camp. It is here that elephants caught in the jungle are trained by mahouts, and you can even ride them for a fee. Conventionally, the beach is divided into two parts - the northern, more prestigious, and the southern, where a holiday will cost a little less. The rainy season lasts from May to September; the rest of the time nothing will stop you from fully enjoying your beach holiday in Myanmar.
  3. The most popular beach local population– . This place is always surrounded by some kind of fun. There are always a lot of people here, especially on weekends. You can get here from Yangon using. Typically, from Chaungta Beach to Ngwe Saung Beach and back you can easily get by boat. There are also hotels and hostels along the coast, but they do not shine with service. In general, the beach is quite beautiful, and with some effort you can even find a relatively deserted area. It is worth going here during the dry season, from October to April.
  4. A beach not so popular with tourists appears before us. It is located in the southeast of the country, near the city of Dawei, approximately at the same latitude as Bangkok. This area is still poorly adapted to resort area, but this also has its advantages. Privacy, warm sun, clean sand and clear water are the keys to a great beach holiday in Myanmar. The best time to travel to the south of the country is from November to April.

Beach holidays in the Mergui archipelago in Myanmar

The Mergui archipelago, which is the territory of Myanmar, unites over 800 islands. If you crave complete unity with nature, want to relax on a real wild beach, this is the place for you. Long white beaches stretch for kilometers without a trace of sand on Pilar Island (Kyun Phi Lar). There is a small and uncrowded resort on McLeod Island. This place is perfect for these views active rest, like scuba diving, kayaking and fishing. Surprisingly, even those echoes of civilization that are on this beach fit perfectly and harmonize with the surrounding nature, without disturbing its beauty at all. Stunning sunsets can be seen along the coast of Bushby Island. Local beach- the dream of a person who wants to escape from the bustle of the world and retire to the bosom of pristine nature. It would take a long time to list such little corners of paradise. And believe me, every place is worth your attention.

Myanmar is a heavenly place on earth, where once you find yourself, you understand where dreams can lead. Velvety and warm air, saturated with the rays of a truly divine sun, will easily immerse you in heavenly nirvana, making you forget about the bustle and idleness of everyday problems. After all, we all want, at least for a few days a year, all our worries to be pushed to the farthest plane, and truly gorgeous landscapes appear before our eyes, capable of reminding us what a picturesque planet we live on. There probably won't be one for this best place than the shore warm sea, blown by a fantastic breeze. And I won't be wrong if I say that a real gem The most famous beaches in the world are the beaches of Myanmar, the total length of which is close to two thousand kilometers. Just think how many unforgettable moments and pleasant discoveries can be hidden in travel along the expanses of the coastline.

The most popular beach among tourists is Ngapali Beach. And this is not surprising. Anyone who happened to wander around these places will remember the azure for a long time depths of the sea, the warmth of snow-white sand and the soft sound of the wind in the leaves of palm trees. These beaches will take their place of honor on the shelf of your brightest and most colorful memories, to warm you up on rainy autumn days and gloomy winter evenings. The abundance and availability of fruits contribute to local residents, which for a small fee will allow you not only to see heaven on earth, but also to taste it. Having become tired of contemplating utopian views, you can briefly return to reality by doing, for example, fishing or diving. This will add variety to your vacation, and will also allow the even tan that you will manage to acquire while visiting the beaches of Myanmar to subside.

Fortunately, there are more than enough opportunities for creating interesting leisure activities in these places. For lovers nightlife a pleasant surprise will be the mysterious glow phenomenon sea water. Imagine as if millions of small underwater spotlights light up in the depths of the sea, after the sunset of the main celestial body, to once again remind us that beauty is nearby. Believe me, this is incomparable.

When you visit Chang Ta Beach, you will be surprised not only by the branchy palm trees scattered everywhere, but also by the exquisitely prepared seafood food, which you can easily buy from the commercial locals. Agree, it would be unforgivable for us not to taste the gifts of local cuisine. Indeed, in order to understand even better the philosophy of the local people, sometimes it is enough just to taste their national dishes.

Even more a fabulous corner The local beaches are Ngwe Saung Beach and Kantaya Beach. There is an opinion that the water in these parts is even clearer, the sound of the surf is more melodious, and the tan is more velvety. However, having visited different beaches in Myanmar, you understand that you cannot draw the boundaries of paradise, because the atmosphere of calm, tranquility and bliss reigns everywhere here. And great developed infrastructure, cozy and comfortable hotels only contribute to the prosperity of paradise on earth.

Beaches in Myanmar are a true dream for a person who wants to relax and unwind, feel the velvety touch of the rays of the caressing sun on his skin, breathe in the most delicate air intoxicating with its unique freshness and feel how the lightest breeze brings long-awaited freshness. The most picturesque places and pristine nature will meet you and give you unforgettable experience from relaxing in the lap of virgin nature, because this true miracle will be provided to you only in this corner of paradise.

One of the most famous beaches in Myanmar is Ngapali, even in the “cold” season the temperature on it does not drop below 30 degrees. This splendor is located only seven kilometers from the town of Sandowai. This wonderfully beautiful beach is also the most clean beach all over the world with its beautiful landscapes and wonderful climate, delightfully suitable for a relaxing holiday.

The beaches of Myanmar are also famous for their magical pagodas, looking at them in the setting rays of the sun, you feel as if you are plunging into a fairy tale and seeing the golden shimmer of magic on their domes. This fabulous place, where men wear skirts and girls glow with goodwill and happiness, where you can feel truly happy and will keep a piece of this world within you all your life. In this wonderful place, you can finally throw off the shackles of “civilization” and feel like a “real” person who doesn’t need to think about hateful work, future well-being or making deals or any problems, but just be yourself, do only what what you want, not what you need, and rest your soul and body.

For every visitor on the beaches of Myanmar there is his own outlet that will bring him pleasure, and some tourists who are tired of their crazy race through life in order to somehow feel like not even a guest, but a resident of this wonderful place, wear longjis, similar to the skirts worn by men in Myanmar. Local residents treat such tourists with understanding and sympathy and, as best they can, help them feel in the role they choose, to feel like a Myanmarese. For lovers of the exotic, this is a wonderfully unique place; almost all of the transport consists of pickup trucks, in which people ride, clinging with their feet or hands while you yourself are hanging in the air, feeling the sensation of flying during the trip, although it is quite safe , but the feeling is amazing. If you are hungry, on almost every corner you will be offered to sit on a low stool and taste the local food of all the inhabitants - “mohinga” fish soup with a delicious rice cake and, for the second, fried rice with pieces of chicken.

Local women in Myanmar do not use cosmetics; they apply a special paste to their faces, which, in addition to its remarkable sun protection properties, also has a cosmetic effect. Many residents have been chewing the local herbal drug betel nut almost all their lives and, walking down the street, you can see someone spitting bloody clots onto the sidewalk, stripes of which can be seen on many roads. And everyone who uses it, their teeth become like coals, they become so black, which leads to an unimaginable external effect.

The people of Myanmar take religion very seriously, although they understand it with its own characteristics that are unique to them. They worship the great Buddha, but this does not prevent them from worshiping local spirits as well, and this attitude often confuses the theological dead end of those who try to understand local religious preferences. But one of general rules applies to everyone - all residents believe that no one has the right to enter a home or building with shoes on and strictly monitors the execution of this ritual, so you may not be allowed to enter a shop or temple until you take off your shoes, because this will be considered desecration. Maybe that’s why, but most local residents walk down the street barefoot, not bothering to wear shoes.

For lovers of sights, Myanmar will be a great find; there are thousands of temples and pagodas on its territory. Pagodas of all sizes, colors and shapes attract attention and delight with their sophistication and beauty, the variety of materials used and the crazy imagination of the builders, thanks to which these structures turn into real masterpieces of art. The largest and most incredible pagoda in its magnificence is located in the capital, in the very center of Rangoon and is called Shwedagon. An insane amount of gold and precious wood was spent on the construction of this pagoda, and now, looking at this monumental structure, you experience an incomparable feeling of delight, splendor and probably even pride that such a structure was built by ordinary people, but who invested a piece of their soul into the construction and perpetuated its existence for centuries.

Manyana, like every country, has its own national dress that has developed over the centuries due to the conditions of their climate, nationalism and beliefs. Clothing highlights each Manyan, identifying him with his occupation, religious beliefs and craft. Buying national clothes or any of its attributes is not difficult, you just need to find it on local market, but there are trays with goods on it in an orderly manner understandable only to the local residents, to an ordinary tourist inaccessible, which gives the local exotic even greater individuality and flavor.

One of the favorite activities of both the local population and visitors is watching the sunset in several especially picturesque places this paradise of our huge planet. Bagan Temple - Bupaya, is one of the ancient temples Manyany. Appearance The gilded slopes of this masterpiece of antiquity amaze with their splendor and luxury, and many people, wearing their best clothes, come out in the evenings to sit and watch how the rays of the setting sun will shimmer on its domes and reflect from ancient building. Gathered near the temple, local residents take great pleasure in looking at tourists in their exotic, by Magnan standards, clothes and showing hospitality to visitors, because they really have something to be proud of. They also like to watch the sunset by looking at the ruins, and if you suddenly want to climb to the top of the Mingalazedi Temple, then you will not be disappointed - the view of the many pagodas resting in front of you will make an indelible impression on you, but watching the sunset on this peak cannot be described at all no words.

And of course, no tourist will be left without souvenirs in memory of this beautiful place with its wonderful pagodas and Manyana beaches, because they can be bought at the foot of almost every pagoda. The time spent in Magnana will be the most best vacation also thanks to the service of local hotels, because this is wonderful service and wonderful rooms with delicious breakfasts on the terraces.

In this exotic country there are not only beaches and pagodas, everyone also has the opportunity to ride a boat and visit various monasteries, such as are not found anywhere else, and if you want, you can climb the mountains. The Monastery of Jumping Cats, as the name suggests, is where friendly monks actually live and raise cats that jump through rings and perform many tricks that you can see if you are lucky enough to visit it. If you want to swim along the river, looking at the sights and enjoying the clean and transparent flow of water, you need to go to Nyaung Shwe, where almost all passers-by will offer you a wonderful trip, you just have to choose what you want to see. Another one of the most famous Mahamuni pagodas, which houses a golden statue of Buddha and gathers pilgrims who pray from early morning until late at night to the hat of the great Buddha, crowned with huge precious stones comparable in value to the income of an average city for several years. The statue of Mahamuni was sacred even at the time when it was taken from ancient city Arakan, many historical legends or epics are associated with it, when various people in different times they worshiped and prayed to her, and she was truly sacred to them.

ABOUT have a good rest every person dreams. To make your dream come true, you only need to choose the desired country. One such famous country where it is always warm is Myanmar. In winter it is very comfortable here, the air temperature stays at +15 degrees. In summer the heat can reach up to +41. Everything about beach holiday in Myanmar in 2019, we will tell you in this article.

For those who are encountering the word Myanmar for the first time, it is worth noting that this is a state that recently had the name Burma. It is with the word Burma that tourists associate positive impressions and an unforgettable beach holiday.

The state of Myanmar is located in northwestern Indochina in Southeast Asia. Nearby are countries such as China, and. The coasts of the state are washed by the Andaman Sea and the Bay of Bengal of the Indian Ocean. So the size of the coastline is up to 2 thousand km, it is this factor that makes it possible to organize here unforgettable vacation for tourists.

The country has a varied topography, since one part is covered with mountains and the other with plains. But the peculiarity of this country is that more than 65% of the territory is covered with tropical forests. This geographical location does not allow increasing density in cities. Basically, most of the population lives in the coastal zone, which allows them to engage in fishing and open a tourism business.

Myanmar on the map:

The nature in Myanmar is very diverse, as a large number of rivers and lakes make the soil fertile. In depth tropical forests there are places where nature has not yet been touched. Therefore, the vacation spot can be called not only exotic, but also extreme.

How to get there?

You can get to Myanmar by air or land. Until 2013, Burma was only accessible by plane, but after the borders with China, Thailand and India opened, tourists had many options and ways to get to Myanmar.

The air route remains the most convenient for tourists who want to holiday in Myanmar in 2019. At the same time, the ticket price is quite low, so you can get from Bangkok to Yangon for $25.

From Russia, it is best to first fly to, or, and then take a direct flight to your holiday destination. At the same time, flight delays, as a rule, do not occur, which allows you to plan your trip wisely.

If you go through India or China, then the tourist will have to spend a lot more money, and it will be more difficult to get on a direct flight.

Before planning a tour to Myanmar, you need to apply for a visa. This can be done in several ways:

  • through consular offices in;
  • V neighboring countries ah, which are located next to Myanmar;
  • through an electronic visa (you will receive it upon arrival in the country).

Obtaining a visa is a very simple action, since you don’t have to collect a lot of documents, the only thing worth noting is that you don’t need to write a journalist in the “profession” column, since people with this type of activity will have to fill out a lot of additional documents.

When should I arrive?

Traditionally, Myanmar has three seasons:

  • humid (occurs in June-October). At this time, it is not very convenient to vacation in Myanmar, since most of the roads are simply flooded due to heavy rainfall. But prices for holidays at this time are very low and you can’t meet many tourists. Such budget holiday suitable for those who want to retire and enjoy beautiful scenery and active recreation;
  • cool (falls in November-February). Comes this season greatest number tourists, since the weather at this time is the best (no rain and optimal temperature conditions). But still, at night the weather in the cities is quite cool, so, given this fact, you need to take warm clothes with you. Also, during this season, you should try to book hotel rooms earlier, as they are quickly sold out;
  • hot (corresponds to the period March-May). During this season, only some cities are hot (Yangon, Mandalay and Bagan), while all others populated areas A slight coolness reigns, which still does not interfere with a relaxing rest.

You can go on a budget holiday during the rainy season. There are very few tourists during this season. If you do not want to spend your holiday on the beach, then you can freely visit Burma during this period. A busy beach holiday makes up for it excursion program. Tourists will not be bored sitting in a hotel room and contemplating the pouring rain outside the window.

This country has a large number of religious buildings. The unofficial name of Myanmar is “the land of a thousand pagodas.” Therefore, lovers of architecture and temples should definitely visit the city of Bagan.

Beach holidays in Myanmar are unusual. Burma has a unique coastline. It will be especially interesting for those who are interested in diving.

Underwater reefs, vibrant ocean flora and fauna will not leave you indifferent. And the fabulously soft sand on the beach, clear water, comfortable hotels and private hotels, extraordinary souvenirs will give you an unforgettable vacation.

If you are a fan of stories about Mowgli, have long dreamed of seeing an ancient abandoned city in the jungle, then interesting and sightseeing tours By dead city you will like it.

Cuisine and restaurants

There is practically no difference between the cuisine in Myanmar and the southeastern one. In all cities, traditional rice and noodles reign. But even such dishes have their own characteristics.

Through the influence of the culture of neighboring countries, Indian, Thai and Japanese cuisine can be found in restaurants and cafes. A very popular dish in Myanmar is mohinga (rice noodle soup with fish, garlic and lemongrass). Very often you can find “sets” served in restaurants, when various spices, curries, fresh vegetables, and so on are served along with rice.

You should definitely try folk sweet dishes, for example, sweets made from rice flour similar to manna. Such pastries can be found not only in cafes or restaurants, but also in local bakeries.

If a tourist comes from Russia or Europe, then it is worth switching to local cuisine very slowly and carefully, as it differs significantly from traditional Slavic food.

There are a sufficient number of restaurants and cafes throughout the country, so you need to focus on where there are a lot of people. In such places, as a rule, food is inexpensive and tasty.

Is there anything to be afraid of?

On the streets you can meet very kind people who have a positive attitude towards tourists. This behavior was formed under the influence of the Buddhist worldview.

There are very strict penalties for crimes against foreigners in Myanmar, so the fear of the law among local residents is quite high. But still, before choosing a place to relax, you must take into account the following factors:

      • Are there rebels fighting for independence in the nearest regions, since recently the number of such places has been growing. During such events, tourists are simply prevented from entering unsafe areas and are strictly warned about all the safety measures that are needed when faced with such situations;
      • You should not go on holiday to the north-eastern parts of the country, since they are poorly controlled by the authorities. And the drug business is thriving on their territory. This is precisely the main reason why holidays in these regions are undesirable;
      • Opium may be common among the local population, so at night you should try to stick to people and not wander around the dark streets.

Also, in some cities, such as Bagan, there is a chance of stumbling upon a snake, so you need to carefully look at your feet. To protect against insects, tourists are given special mosquito nets, raincoats and other devices to make a person feel completely safe.

What can you bring with you?

If you look around in Myanmar, you will see that exotic reigns all around, so it is logical that shopping will be just as exotic. You won’t have to worry about bringing your friends back from your trip, since Burmese souvenirs are famous for their beauty and fully reflect a person’s vacation spot.

The most popular souvenirs that you can bring from Myanmar are:

Thus, while relaxing at a beach resort, tourists can bring a piece of the resort home with them. At the same time, there will also be many interesting and original souvenirs for friends.

Holidays in 2019

A stay in a 4-star hotel for a week without any travel to other cities will cost about $2,000. If you want to visit National Park Myanmar and visit neighboring settlements, then prepare at least $3,000.

Also, since tourism has just begun to develop here, it is too early to talk about European amenities in hotels. In Myanmar you can find a lot of hostels where simple beds cost from 8-10 dollars per person. The amenities in such hostels will not be up to par, since even showers are shared for tourists.

If you remove Double Room, then the price will range from 12 to 15 dollars, but in such rooms the amenities will be shared.

The hostel price includes breakfast: toast, tea or coffee and fruit. If a tourist wants to purchase a room with a shower, then its cost will be from $20, but before moving into it, you need to check that the taps are working properly and that there is hot water.

As for cash in the country, official currency considered kyat, which locals call chat.

In general, Myanmar is considered an inexpensive country, so the trip will not greatly affect the tourist’s budget. So, travel by car will cost approximately 0.20 cents, lunch for two – 2.5 dollars, going to a restaurant and a hearty lunch – 5 dollars.

In conclusion, it is worth noting that since landlines in Myanmar are already falling into second place, you will have to use them exclusively mobile communications. You may not have to buy a local SIM card, since mobile operator MTS provides its customers with long-distance communication services in Myanmar.

Despite some inconveniences that are typical for exotic countries Any tourist should try to relax and unwind on the real and unforgettable beaches of Myanmar.

Video review of traveling around Myanmar:

Tourism is gaining momentum every year. People come here to see ancient pagodas and beautiful nature, taste local cuisine and buy gems. Recently, tourists have discovered a beach holiday in Myanmar, because its shores are washed by Indian Ocean, no less beautiful than in neighboring or.

Where to go to sunbathe?

  • B - the most famous and luxurious beaches of the former Burma. They stretch for three kilometers and represent a strip of ideal white sand, on which hotels, restaurants and even a golf course are built. Available to guests beach views sports, snorkeling and diving.
  • An even longer beach at the Ngwe Saung resort. Its infrastructure is inferior to the Ngapali resort, but romantics and lovers of solitude feel great on the 15-kilometer strip of white sand.

You can also sunbathe on the banks, but visiting it is more likely to be an immersion in the life of a Burmese village. Here you can buy authentic souvenirs, try local cuisine, take part in the festival of lights and see trained cats in a Buddhist monastery.
