Every summer, residents of St. Petersburg open the picnic season on 25 official and ten more “public” beaches. Rospotrebnadzor does not recommend swimming in any of them, however, this does not stop the most fearless: swimmers can be seen in the Gulf of Finland, and in Sestroretsky Razliv, and in the Neva. In anticipation of the heat, The Village editors walked around 13 beaches and found out where you can play volleyball and barbecue, go boating and sunbathe naked.
Resort area
Beach in the village of Komarovo
One of the oldest beaches north coast. There are two landscape zones: sandy and rocky. Rospotrebnadzor does not allow swimming here: the water in the Gulf of Finland cannot be called clean, and it begins to bloom around July. Any entertainment - volleyball, frisbee, etc. - will have to be organized independently. Beach line stretches along the highway, so truckers and tourists passing by often stop by. Some city residents stay here all weekend - pitch tents, barbecue, and play in the fresh air.

High Drive Beach
Another beach in the village of Komarovo. Visitors are honestly warned not to swim here: the water is too dirty. However, unlike other Komarov beaches, there is infrastructure for active recreation: two volleyball courts, a field for playing streetball, beach soccer, table tennis, etc. There are concerts and discos, but unfortunately, it is quite difficult to track their schedule online: the VKontakte group has not been updated since 2012.

Beach on Pike Lake
It is better to get to the unofficial but popular beach four kilometers from the village of Komarovo by car or bicycle. According to reviews, the water in the lake is quite clean - however, it is difficult to find pike here these days (which does not prevent fishermen from sitting here with fishing rods every day). In 2011, the Pike Lake reserve was officially opened here.

Wonderful beach
The beach at the Repino sanatorium fell into disrepair in the post-Soviet period. You can’t swim here: it’s dirty (and the water in the Gulf of Finland is quite cold), but you can wander through the wide forest strip. There are shops and cafes only near the highway and railway station, so it’s better to stock up on food and drinks in advance. There is a volleyball court, but you will have to bring your own equipment - rental is not provided.

Beach "Tender"
One of the most comfortable beaches on the bay. Athletes come here to relax - from kite surfers to volleyball players, families with children and large groups. There is a beach volleyball school here on Saturdays, and a festival dedicated to this sport will be held on July 4–6. Formally, you can’t swim here, but in fact, everyone turns a blind eye to this ban.

Nudist beach
"Dunes"
The Dunes nudist beach has existed at least since the 1960s, but over the years it has not received official status. The infrastructure is not developed: you can leave the car either in a clearing by the river or at the Dunes boarding house, but for a shower you will have to go to the neighboring beaches. Dubkovsky beach
One of the most clean beaches The Gulf of Finland is located near Sestroretsk not far from the Dubki park. This place is fenced off from other coastal areas by a strip of forest. Of the minuses: there are quite a lot of mosquitoes, and the water usually blooms from July.

Beaches on Lake Razliv
Officially, there are five beaches on Lake Sestroretsky Razliv: “Northern”, “New”, “Green Mountain”, “ White Mountain" and "Officer". Tourists are usually advised to visit the last three as the most comfortable. Unfortunately, Rospotrebnadzor does not recommend swimming here either. Nevertheless, Razliv attracts vacationers like a magnet: many believe that the water here is cleaner than in the Gulf of Finland. In the surrounding area there are cool coniferous forests where you can hide from the heat.

Petrogradsky district
Beach of the Peter and Paul Fortress
The beach is not exactly suitable for relaxation (there are no sunbeds or awnings) - but in good weather hundreds of people gather here: the city center, all the beauty is in full view. Swimming in the Neva is strictly not recommended due to harmful runoff. True, the beach was closed until June 26 due to preparations for the alumni holiday “ Scarlet Sails».

Primorsky district
Beach at the Central Park of Culture and Culture named after. Kirov
The beach is called “Green” due to the fact that its entire territory is covered with grass. You can’t swim here either, but this rule is usually ignored, despite the fairly strong current. But here you can play beach volleyball: there is a separate court on the territory.

Beach in the 300th Anniversary Park
St. Petersburg
Spacious sandy beach overlooking The Gulf of Finland and the Primorsky district is a popular summer vacation spot for city residents who do not have time to travel to the suburbs. It can be quite dirty here, sometimes there are empty alcohol bottles lying around, but despite this, there are always a lot of people. Swimming is prohibited: the water is cloudy and cold. But you can always meet brave people who flout the ban. Keep in mind that there is a sand sculpture festival taking place here until September 3rd.

Nameless lake
A few years ago, this body of water was the only one in which Rospotrebnadzor allowed swimming. Everything changed in 2014: Bezymyanny was recognized as non-compliant with sanitary standards. In addition, experts considered the improvement of the beach unsatisfactory. Locals People usually don’t swim here, but dogs can often be seen in the lake: for some reason the pond was chosen for water procedures pets.

Ozerki
A rather dirty, but invariably crowded beach is located across the highway from the Ozerki metro station. Due to frequent picnics, there are always mountains of garbage here - bags and bottles. There are several more beaches on the shores of the Middle and Lower lakes, but in any case you can’t swim in any of them.
