Bon island with abandoned hotel

For whom: for Robinsons and romantics

How to get there: From Rawai Beach to motor boat 25 minutes drive to Bon Island

Half an hour by motor boat or 50 minutes by boat from Phuket from Rawai Beach - and you will find yourself on the most deserted island by the standards of the region. Another bonus awaits you on the far side from Phuket - this is an abandoned hotel. Those who have been there assure that you can relax in the building as if you were at your own dacha. Of course, you won’t find water or electricity, but there is a roof, floor and bamboo walls. And nearby are coconut palms and rocks. There is also a beach on the island, which is a real challenge to find. Our blogger Sergei Solovyov writes in his article (18+): “This is my favorite beach, I found it on a Google map. It is closed on all sides, has huge boulders in the middle, and in order to swim there from the sea, you need to manage to walk between the stones along the corridor. You really feel like Robinson there.” You can get to the beach by renting a boat for ten dollars for $30. It’s nice to realize that not far away there are crowds of tourists, cafes, markets, and you’re robinsonizing yourself!

But you are not going to relax here for years! How do you feel at Mai Khao? The roar of airplane engines, but not deafening, is still the same warmth and smell of the sea. At Foto Hotel (namely “Foto”) you can take that perfect photo from Thailand. Or you can admire the sunset from above while swimming in the pool. This is really a hotel, and there is a platform on its roof. But an outsider can freely come here. We recommend ordering a cocktail and staying until dusk. At this time, special lighting turns on, and the place begins to look like an elite night club. The hotel is located next to Kata Beach. The place, of course, is not the most secret, but the location of the site so far scares away the tourist crowds: they do not want to ask permission at the reception.

Island Buddhist temple

Address: 21/4 Moo 1, Rassada, Muang Phuket, Rassada, Phuket, 83000, Thailand.

The sanctuary is located far from civilization, on a hill. It's not exactly Phuket, but it's close - on Sireh Island. The place is completely non-tourist. Here you will only meet one or two praying Thais and monks. There will be a guard sitting in the hall who will ask you to donate 10-20 baht in exchange for flowers and candles. “The temple stands on the top of a mountain. It’s so calm and good up there that you completely forget about the existence of the rest of the world,” writes our blogger Katerina Knusheva. It also offers a view of the village of sea gypsies. The statue of the Reclining Buddha is also impressive - it is as if he is comprehending Nirvana, which is what we advise you to do.

Banana beach can hardly be called secret. But there are still few tourists here. From November to May here beautiful beach, clean water and almost complete privacy. Banana beach has one restaurant serving fresh seafood, sun loungers are available for rent, and there are places for scuba diving or snorkeling. There are no hotels on the beach; you can spend the night at Trisara Hotel Phuket.

Banana beach is located between Bang Tao and Nai Thon beaches on the northwest coast. You can get here by boat, or you can drive along Coast Road. There is a small parking area to the north behind Villa Trisara. You need to find a small sign on a tree. She will point to the path leading to the beach.

2. Freedom Beach

This best beach on the island! Multi-colored fish swim underwater and corals grow. There is a volleyball and football court on the sand, and the shadow of coconut palms falls directly on the sun loungers. No scooters, bananas or screaming children. Freedom in its purest form. But due to its proximity to Patong, the beach is gaining popularity. Very soon this beach will be occupied by lazy lovers of fast adventures. It's a pity.

Theoretically, there are two ways to get here: by boat or through the dense jungle. In practice, they only use a boat. It can be rented in Patong. The journey to the beach will take about fifteen minutes.

3. Nai Thon Beach

This beach is part national reserve Sirinat. Here under your feet there is golden, pleasant sand, which is considered the best on the entire island. Flat sandy bottom and clear water. National Wildlife Refuge status prohibits development of the beach and water activities. There are no restaurants or shops on the beach itself either; they are located across the street. Nai Thon Beach is a large and beautiful beach in its original form.

It is better to go to the beach from Nai Harn. Drive south to the hill with the wind generator. Ya Nui will be a couple of kilometers later on the right side of the road.

5. Laem Ka Beach

This beach is popular among Thais, but little known to tourists. And this is its huge advantage. Plus, this is the only beach suitable for swimming in the southeast of Phuket. Here the water is aquamarine and cool in the shade of dense thickets. In the south of the beach the bottom is rocky and suitable for diving, in the north it is sandy and flat, ideal for swimming. The beach offers views of Coral Island and Bon Island.

Head to Rawai Beach. Opposite the temple gate on the main road you will see a 7-eleven supermarket. There is a small road leading from it. Drive along it past the post, along the coconut plantation. After a kilometer of travel, the road will lead you straight to the beach parking lot.

6. Hua beach

This is not the best beach in Phuket. The coast is rocky and there are no hotels or restaurants nearby. No sun loungers. Nothing unique, you can find more interesting beaches very close by. So why come here? Many people ask this question and don’t go, which means that on this beach it will be only you and the owner of a small snack bar. Here you can still swim, dive and sunbathe - this is beautiful beach for short-term solitude.

To find the beach, drive west from Kamala along the beach road. You will see Rayee Beach on the right hand side, continue along the road and very soon you will notice a sign pointing to the beach. You need to park next to the road.

7. The Similan Islands

Is not secret beach, but this place is definitely worth a visit. Similans are in the top ten the most beautiful islands peace. It's soft here White sand, in the sea there is an incredible amount of rare fish, turtles, corals and sometimes sharks. Of the nine islands, only two are inhabited. Kata is suitable for both family recreation and active pastime.

One afternoon we went for a walk and at the same time see the beaches that do not appear in guidebooks or on travel agency websites. Still, the phrase “secret beach” sounds mysterious and tempting. There are several such hidden beaches in Phuket; the closest one to us was Hua Beach in the Kamala area.

The path to the beach was difficult. We didn’t have a bike, so we walked, sometimes going up the mountain, sometimes going down. The walk from Kamala to this beach took 40 minutes.

We didn’t meet any other pedestrians, except these plump, smooth, shiny lizards watching us, sitting on the rocks. I don’t know why, but this lizard reminded us, it’s just as plump

And extraordinary blue caterpillars, which we have never seen before. The size of a sausage!!

The beach was found on satellite map. We followed the GPS in case the path to the beach was not marked in any way. And finally we saw the sign.

Hua beach on Phuket island

Hua Beach turned out to be the most ordinary beach. There is nothing for the eye to catch on here, because there is nothing beautiful or unusual.

There is one simple cafe for locals. Which, apparently, is their home and place of work at the same time.

Hua beach on Phuket island

Neither tourists nor locals. Just a couple of lost souls, like us, who came to see a little-known beach in Phuket. This is probably why he is little known.

Slava, where have you taken me?

Where can I order a transfer from the airport?

We use the service - KiwiTaxi
We ordered a taxi online and paid by card. We were met at the airport with a sign with our name on it. We were taken to the hotel in a comfortable car. You've already talked about your experience In this article

The sand here is yellow and large, and there is garbage of natural and artificial origin lying on the shore. The water also leaves much to be desired.

There are almost no waves. But we wouldn't swim here

Even local children, who initially dared to swim, quickly changed their minds and began running along the shoreline.

There is no need to go to Hua Beach on purpose. You can see what the beach is like. None in one word. Even though last photo quite exotic and cute

Karon is one of the most clean beaches Phuket, and it also has an excellent reputation: it’s not for nothing that in 2008 it was ranked among the top ten in the world. As they say, it’s not a beach, but a song, and literally: the white sand creaking sonorously underfoot gave this place the unofficial epithet “singing.” It is not as crowded here as on the neighboring (five kilometers away) Patong beach, and it is quite intimate - this effect is created thanks to the sand embankment, which hides the road passing by from view. But don’t think that Caron is a wild, untrodden place for misanthropes. There is entertainment for every taste, full of shops and other tourist bustle. Therefore, everyone can choose what is closer to them: the noise of nightclubs or unity with nature. In the first case, you should go to northern part beach, Petit Karon, located in the bay at the Le Meridien hotel, with discos and restaurants. Otherwise, head south to Greater Karon. Fishing, diving (the water here is incredibly clean), numerous spas or just meditation by the water - what is not quiet happiness? But surfers on Karon, both southern and northern, have nothing to do: ebbs and flows here all the time.

One of the advantages of Surin beach is the lack of fuss and regularity. The Buddhist temple located next door also reminds us of the futility of all things. Surin is not noisy, it is not a very public place, and there are plenty of clubs and restaurants. Surfing, snorkeling (in the high season - from October to April), perfectly clear water and unexpected pine trees, reminiscent of your homeland, in the shade of which you can hide from the sun - Surin gives a variety of impressions. It is also called the beach of millionaires: in some local hotels World celebrities regularly stop by, appreciating Surin Beach for that very non-publicity. By the way, the Thais themselves come here to relax, which also says a lot.

On Mount Nakaked at an altitude of more than 400 meters lies temple complex Big Buddha. It consists of two levels. On the first floor there is a shopping area (souvenir shops) and a small museum. The temple is still under construction, and construction is being carried out with public money. If you want to help, buy souvenirs: proceeds from their sales go directly into the general fund. In addition to trading and visiting the museum telling about the stages great job(the temple has been under construction for more than 10 years), on the first level you can receive a monastic blessing. The monks, sitting in the depths of the building on a raised platform, will perform a ritual by hanging a modest but good-luck weaving on your hand. It is important to know that women are not allowed to touch monks - and, accordingly, vice versa. Thanks to the dexterity of the monks' hands, the weave will end up on your hand without touching.

The Big Buddha statue itself is located on the second level. The 45-meter tall Buddha, made of white marble, is captured at the moment of enlightenment. From there you also have an incredible view of the surrounding area.

We did not recommend visiting one of the hotels in Phuket, since it would be too banal. But Cassia is the most fashionable and original hotel project of the year! All professionals of the tourism market and lovers of the main Thai resort, without exception, were waiting for its start. A fresh, unique format that is ideal for our tourists in the current not-so-comfortable conditions. economic conditions, is a unique mix of quality and affordability. The first designer studio hotel Cassia is an atypical story for Thailand, a country of contrasts, where the luxury and scope of luxury giants coexist with very budget options. Here - quality, comfort, focus on the liveliest, fashionable and advanced audience for quite reasonable money.

How is this possible? Firstly, the studio hotel, opened recently, in October 2015, is a project of Banyan Tree, the most reputable Asian brand in the world of hotel business. This is already a kind of quality mark. Secondly, this is a truly unique format, which has no analogues not only in Phuket, but throughout Thailand. Fashionable spacious apartments completely created for the generation mobile internet, Facebook and Instagram. Stylish designer lofts with their own kitchen, a Grab & Go cafe, as well as a bar with DJ parties will cost the most comfortable amount - and, perhaps, this the best option in terms of price and quality ratio.

Cassia Phuket has over two hundred apartments and lofts. Each one has one or two bedrooms and a kitchen, which means that both a large family and a noisy group of friends will be comfortable here. All apartments have ocean, lagoon or park views. There is free internet everywhere, you can order room service directly to your room, and breakfast is served free of charge in a special lunch box.

In addition, guests can use the infrastructure of the nearby hotels Banyan Tree Phuket and Angsana Laguna Phuket, because the main advantage of Cassia Phuket is that it is located on the territory of one of the most prestigious resort complexes Islands - Laguna Phuket. And from here it is a stone's throw to Bang Tao beach, which makes this a unique project best choice by location.

Also known as Laguna Beach, this beach stretches for eight kilometers along the northwestern coast of Phuket. Here is the huge Laguna hotel complex, which includes seven luxurious five-star hotels located right on the shore. It’s easy to guess that the prices on the beach are quite serious, and the atmosphere is imbued with well-being and elitism. There is even an 18-hole golf course. Imagine the picture: a wonderful beach, clear water - and relaxed people with golf clubs against this background.
