Airbus A320 cabin layout: the best seats. The best seats in the Airbus A320

Airbus handed over a second aircraft to the German airline new version Airbus A320. Personal correspondent the site made a test flight on an aircraft called the Airbus A320neo and has several significant differences from its predecessors.

The main difference that passengers will feel is a noticeable reduction in noise levels. Measurements carried out by the site on a test flight on an Airbus A320neo and then on a regular A320 of the previous version showed a difference of approximately 5 decibels in favor of the new product in all parts of the aircraft cabin. The noise itself has also become more pleasant to the ear.

New engines contribute to noise reduction (they also allow, due to their noticeably larger size - over two meters in diameter - to visually distinguish the AirbusA320neo from previous versions). The engines also provide a reduction in fuel consumption by 15% (and according to Lufthansa experts after the first regular flights - even a little more), which made it possible to increase the flight range or carry more passengers and cargo with the same range. With further improvements, savings should reach 20% by 2020. Instead of the small swept wing tips usual for previous Airbuses, the Airbus A320neo is equipped with 2.4-meter sharp winglets that improve aerodynamics.

Lufthansa took advantage of the opportunity to increase the number of passengers. The number of seats in the cabin has been increased to 180 compared to 168 in the regular Airbus A320. Two extra rows were installed by rearranging the interior and changing the distance between the rows. The plane turned out to be very unusual in this regard: in only 30 rows, 4 different inter-row distances (seat pitches) are used - not counting the rows at the emergency exits with increased space.

Lufthansa, like most other European carriers, has the same seats in both classes of narrowbody aircraft. However, in the new Airbus A320neo, seat pitch is significantly reduced from nose to tail. In the first five rows it reaches 32 inches (81 centimeters) for greater comfort for business class passengers. The next five rows (6-10), which may also include business class passengers if there is high demand (but usually go to economy class), are spaced 30 inches (76 centimeters) apart. This is the seat pitch familiar to previous versions of the Airbus A320 at Lufthansa.

Next come two rows (11-12) with emergency exits with the greatest pitch on the plane, but in the rest of the economy class the seat pitch is reduced. On rows 14-29 it is 29 inches (74 centimeters), and on the last three rows (30-32) it is 28 inches (71 centimeters). It is expected that as the AirbusA320neo fleet becomes saturated, these rows will be filled with passengers who have chosen the minimum fare (although determining the minimum fare in the new Lufthansa system is somewhat difficult). True, Lufthansa uses very thin seats, so such a small distance between rows is better tolerated than with some other companies. However, those flying on the Airbus A320neo can in any case be advised to choose seats closer to the nose if possible. Let us remind you that advance booking on baggage-free Economy Class Light fares is paid.

In total, the plane has 30 rows instead of the previous 28 (rows 13 and 17 are missing). It was possible to fit two additional rows into the same fuselage not so much by reducing the distance between the economy class rows, but by rearranging the rooms in the rear. The place where the toilets were usually located is given to rows 31-32, and the toilets themselves are squeezed into a pair at the very end due to the reduction of the kitchen - especially since, due to the rapid reduction in food in economy class in recent decades, much space is no longer required there. True, now the stewards have to tinker to cope with the carts in some cramped conditions. At the same time, in order to still have half of the previous space left for the kitchen, the space of the toilets is greatly reduced, and some passengers will find it uncomfortable there. And you can, perhaps, completely forget about changing clothes in the toilet. The business class toilet at the front of the plane remains the same.

Other popular aircraft in the same Airbus A320 family - the shorter Airbus A319 and the longer Airbus A321 - will also receive the neo variant. Now these modifications are in the testing and certification stage. After some time, the Airbus A321LR will appear with an additionally increased flight range - it will be able to fly more than 7 thousand kilometers without landing.

Launch customer Lufthansa has ordered a total of 116 aircraft from the family for its group. Of these, 101 will go directly to Lufthansa (61 Airbus A320neo, including five in 2016, and 40 Airbus A321neo), and the remaining 15 will go to the Swiss SWISS (ten A320neo and five A321neo). Over time, they will form a significant part of the narrow-body fleet of Lufthansa itself and its subsidiaries. They will be used primarily for European flights and other short- and medium-haul routes.

Now they fly on routes within Germany - from Frankfurt to Munich and Hamburg. True, it is not easy for a passenger choosing a flight on the company’s website to determine which ones are operated by Airbus A320neo. When you click on a specific flight, you can see the type of aircraft, but it will be shown as Airbus Industrie A320 Sharklets, which also applies to some of the previous Airbus A320 models. You can accurately determine whether it belongs to the Airbus A320neo by additionally clicking on the cabin diagram - the last row of the new product will be numbered 32, not 30.

Probably, over time, Airbus A320neo will also come on routes to Russia. However, this is unlikely to happen very soon - the layout of the aircraft makes it preferable to use it on shorter routes. Low noise levels may also encourage carriers to use the aircraft preferably at European airports with more stringent noise requirements. The noise reduction for the external environment of the Airbus A320neo is even more significant than for the aircraft cabin: in some major airports Any significant sound impact will remain entirely within the airport perimeter and will not disturb nearby residents. In total, 75 different airlines have already ordered more than 4,400 aircraft of the new family.

The Airbus A320 aircraft is one of the best narrow-body aircraft of all Airbus products. This company produces airliners of high quality and comfort; Airbus aircraft are economical on short and medium distance routes.

The Airbus A320 made its first flight in 1987 and immediately won recognition in the world. civil aviation. This aircraft can carry from 150 to 180 people. In the first case, business class seats are arranged 2+2, and in economy class – 3+3. To understand which seats on the plane are considered the best, you need to familiarize yourself with the seating chart.

Aeroflot actively uses Airbuses in its fleet. The total number of these aircraft reaches 67 units. Let's look at the location of seats on the Airbus 320 now.

Scheme Airbus cabin The A320 has several variants. Each of them does not infringe on passenger comfort. The following options are available:

  • four-seater (business class);
  • five-seater;
  • six-seater.

In the picture you can see the location of the seats and the width of the aisles.

As with all aircraft, business class seats are located at the head of the aircraft. In the Airbus A320 this is row 1-5. The step between the rows is small, but it is enough to make passengers feel comfortable. It is worth noting some features of the first row:

  • There is a mount for a baby cradle on the wall in front of the passenger;
  • a passenger in the first row does not have to worry that the back of the seat in front will recline on him;
  • However, in the first rows there are no footrests, like for passengers in the next rows.

Numbering of seats on Airbus A320 Aeroflot aircraft

We invite you to study the numbering of seats for passengers planning to fly on an Airbus A320; the cabin layout is also posted on the Internet.

Available on the plane, both bad and best places. Aeroflot provides aircraft cabin seat maps in free access Internet. There are also standard places; being in them has neither any advantages nor disadvantages.

The figure above shows a diagram of the Airbus A320 aircraft; Aeroflot allows you to choose if desired suitable places on one's own.

The best seats in the Airbus A320

The best seats on the plane are considered to be the sixth, ninth (with comments), and tenth row. Concerning sixth row, then you don't have to worry about this:

  • reclined front backrests;
  • you will receive your food first, because it is from you that the food is distributed;
  • There are mounts for cradles, which is convenient when flying with children.

Among the negative points we can highlight limited space for outstretched legs, not everyone is comfortable looking all the way into a blank wall.

In the ninth row The backrests, unfortunately, do not recline, but there is free legroom. You can easily let your neighbors pass without leaving your seat. Tenth row, seats A and F somewhat skewed due to the emergency exit, while there is more legroom than usual, the backrests also recline as standard.

The most comfortable and best seats on the Aeroflot a320 economy class aircraft are in the tenth row B, C, D, and E.

There is a lot of space for outstretched legs due to the proximity to the emergency exit, the chairs recline quietly, the seats are not sloping like A and F. There is only one limitation - you cannot put hand luggage in the legs. Only this moment is unlikely to upset passengers in these seats.

Remember, passengers with children, elderly people and people with disabilities will not be seated in rows 9 and 10; emergency exits must be vacated mobile in emergency cases.

The oldest aircraft example is D-AIPB (25.1 years old).

The passenger narrow-body aircraft model A320-200 is intended to serve medium- and short-haul airlines. It has a fly-by-wire control system and additional fuel tanks. The entire range of models of the A320 family is designed on its basis. It is the most popular model of the aircraft of the aviation concern.

It has been on the company's airlines since 1989. Was once the first commercial aircraft to have a FlyByWire control system

Vessels with 168 seats in a two-class configuration are used.

In both first and second class, seats marked F and A are located near the windows. Seats D and C will require aisle seating. The best seats in this arrangement are quite difficult to find. The worst ones are much easier - they are at the end near the toilet, row 27.

It seems that the eighth row is tighter than the rest, but most likely this is a deceptive impression.

Let's take a closer look at the layout:

    1 rub. business. Places near the partition. Although there is enough free space for the legs and the partition is not so close, nevertheless, this circumstance can cause discomfort for some.

    3 r. - everything is the same as in 1 r., only the partition is located much closer, since the class of seats is economy. Tables, which are usually located in the back of the chair in front, are located in the armrest. As a result, the armrests are fixed and cannot be raised. But, a significant advantage of these seats is the fact that no one will recline the back of the chair, thereby reducing the already small space for knees.

    9 rub. Seat backs this series At best, they have a limitation in reclining, and at worst, they don’t recline at all. All because of the emergency exit located behind this row. It is not very convenient to be in a vertical position for the entire flight.

    10 rub. They have the same problem as the 9 RUR chairs. However, they have a significant advantage - the distance has been increased to 9 r. You will sit in an upright position throughout the flight, but you will be able to stretch your legs forward and get up from your seat without any problems. In such rows it is prohibited to block the approach to the emergency exit. That is, they will not be allowed to keep bags on the floor.

    11 rub. very comfortable places. The seats recline without problems, there is a lot of legroom in front - almost business class! The only point is that it is forbidden to block the approach to the emergency exit with things, bags, and so on. We also note that the emergency hatches ( seats F, A) a little worse. It happens that due to the close location to the doors, the chairs are sloping or slightly narrower. In such places there is often no one of the armrests. Passengers with animals, children and disabilities, etc. should not be near emergency exits. Elderly people are also not allowed to be there. All these restrictions are made for flight safety reasons.

    26 rub. at the aisle, D,C. People will constantly walk past you on their way to the toilet. Queues may still form.

    27 rub. Worst places. Whether the chairs recline or not depends on your luck, because they can rest against the wall of the toilet (it all depends on the configuration). In addition, the proximity to the toilets means constant walking and bustle. And this is accompanied by all the sounds of a slamming door, the sound of a tank, and sometimes even unpleasant odors. There is, however, an alternative opinion - if the flight is not busy, these seats in the tail are usually free and you can sit alone on three seats at once and sleep. But maybe you won't be lucky.

    Ask an airline employee for advice

    If possible, carefully study the diagram of the airliner you will fly on.

    Do not take seats where the seats do not recline or are limited in their ability to do so.

    Do not take places near toilets, kitchens and other technical rooms at the very end.
