Fukuoka beaches

On Fukuoka The most famous are 10 beaches, which differ markedly from each other in terms of comfort, development of tourist infrastructure and cleanliness.

Bai Dai Beach

Dai Beach located in the northwest of the island Phu Quoc. Just a few years ago this was one of the most untouched beaches in the world, but now one of the best lies here chain hotels Vietnam - Vinpearl Phu Quoc Resort 5*.

True, this will not prevent you, if you wish, from finding secluded areas of the beach with untouched nature.

Beach Bai Dai still clean, covered with yellow, loose sand. The most deserted idyllic sections of the beach are located closer to the beach and opposite Turtle Island (Hon Doi Moi Island).

Diving and snorkeling enthusiasts go to Turtle Island (Hon Doi Moi Island) - there is a famous dive site here.

The sea here is warm, with a gentle slope, without currents, with water of various shades from blue to green. Beach strip not wide, in some areas the casaurina (aeolian tree) comes close to the beach.

Beach Dai Beach Ideal for children and non-swimmers.

There are small restaurants along the shore in the village Ganh Dau(with still low prices).

Vung Bau Beach

Vung Bau one of the least crowded beaches - apart from a couple of small restaurants you will not find anything here. It is located south of the beach.

The beach is about 4.5 km long and is lined with tall grass, palm trees and casaurina trees.
The sea here is calm during the dry season and quite aggressive during the rainy season. The entrance to the water is gentle with gradually increasing depth.

Not only starfish and shells are not uncommon on this beach, but also sea urchins, so be careful, watch your step.

Close to the beach Vung Bau There are several small hotels (you can also have a snack there):

  • Bamboo Cottages(with its own private beach, luxury rooms)
  • Vung Bau Resort(amazing beach + reasonable price)
  • Mai Phuong Phu Quoc Resort (comfortable beach+ reasonable price)

Ong Lang Beach

Beach Ong Lang is located west coast islands between the village of Ganh Dau and the main city of the island - Duong Dong.

Ong Lang noticeably different from other beaches: the beach strip here is periodically interrupted by sections of rocks and stones. Here you can watch not only the most beautiful sunsets on the west coast of the island, but also numerous fishing boats crossing the cow beach.

The beach is covered with light yellow loose sand, fairly clean (hotel staff regularly cleans their areas), and is bordered by palm trees and casaurina trees.

The sea here is transparent, green-blue, calm, with a gentle entry into the water, at the beginning high season(November - December) there may occasionally be jellyfish.

Along the beach Ong Lang There are quite a lot of small hotels, guest houses, restaurants, and fast food outlets. If you need more variety in restaurants and shops, then go to Duong Dong - 15 minutes and you are there.

Ganh Dau Beach

Beach Gan Bau Beach is located at the northern tip of Phu Quoc Island, near the village of Ganh Dau. Gan Bau Beach It has the shape of a horseshoe, is surrounded by forests, and covered on both sides by low mountains.

The sand on the beach is yellow, with a significant admixture of ground corals. The sea here is calm, inhabited by various living creatures (thanks to the presence of corals and stones) - if you wish, you can watch crabs, shellfish, and various fish. Opposite the beach you can see the Cambodian coast (Mount Ta Lon). Nearby are National Park Fukuoka and Nguyen Trung Truc Temple are worth a visit.

Right on the beach Gan Bau Beach there are two restaurants where you can taste seafood or national Vietnamese cuisine (meals start from 100,000VND). In the village itself, you can taste traditional Vietnamese dishes for VND 35,000. As of March 2016, there was not a single working ATM here.

There are no hotels on the beach, but you can stay at Ganh Dau.

Sao & Khem Beaches (Bai Sao and Bai Khem)

Beach Sao Beach is located in the southeast of the island, 7 km from the town of An Thoi. This is one of the best beaches not only in Vietnam, but in all of Southeast Asia.

Sao Beach is famous for its white sand - very reminiscent of the beaches of the Caribbean.

The best section of the beach is next to the restaurant Paradiso(previously called “No Problem”). In the southern part of the beach the sand is yellow, rougher, and it’s difficult to call the beach clean. A few years ago it was perfect, but now you can see the consequences of its popularity - some areas are covered with garbage.

The sea here has a characteristic turquoise hue and is shallow (to a depth of more than 100 m).

In the sea you can see many young fish, crustaceans, and sometimes squid; in September - October there are many starfish off the coast.

Today at the beach Sao Beach you will find many restaurants, bars, small hotels, tour agencies, boat and kayak rentals, windsurfing and kitesurfing centers.

Beach Bai Hem located next door, famous for its white sand. Until 2014, this part of the island was closed to tourists (there were military installations here). Now access is free, but contrary to what is written about the beach on the Internet, it cannot be considered comfortable: the coastal waters are rich in fish, shrimp, anchovies, and this has led to the fact that the largest fish market is located here. Anyone who has been to similar markets in Vietnam at least once knows that there is no need to talk about cleanliness here.

In the near future, the authorities plan to close the fish market here and repurpose the beach exclusively for tourism.

Long Beach

Long Beach this is the epicenter of a beach holiday in Fukuoka - 20 km of golden sand, turquoise sea and magnificent sunsets.

The beach is located on the west coast of the island, just 10 minutes drive from the international airport. It’s comfortable to sunbathe, swim, exercise here aquatic species sports, relax and just bask in the sun.

There are numerous hotels, restaurants, and shops along the entire beach. Merchants right on the beach will offer you drinks, fruits, and seafood.

The beach is conventionally divided into 2 parts: northern and southern.

North Long Beach It is 5 km long, starts at the Eden Resort Hotel (in Duong Dong, near the new airport) and ends at the rocks next to the Trang An Phu Quoc Hotel.

South Long Beach stretches for 15 km, includes a series of small local beaches (Xep Beach, Dai Do Beach, Duong Co Beach, Duong Xanh Beach, and Vuon Dua Beach). It is not so crowded here, the infrastructure is somewhat less developed than in the northern part. This is a place to go for those looking for peace and quiet.

Sparsely populated southern part of the beach Long Beach the phenomenon is temporary - large-scale construction of large tourist complexes(construction is planned to be completed by 2020).

Rach Tram & Rach Vem Beaches

Both beaches are located in the north of the island, surrounded by tropical jungle. The beaches are rarely visited by tourists - the roads leading to them are unpaved, the tourist infrastructure is not developed, luxurious nature and heaps of garbage on the shore in the form of broken boats, old nets, plastic boxes, etc. In general, these beaches are waiting for the owner's hand.

Thom Beach

Thom Beach located in the north of the island - very quiet and calm beach, surrounded by thickets of cashew (hazel). You can only get here along a dirt road; the infrastructure here is poorly developed, but there are still a few inexpensive hotels.

Sea near the beach Thom Beach shallow, noticeable low tides.

In the future, it is planned to build a tourist center here.

Cua Can Beach

Beach Cua Can Beach is located on the west coast of the island between the beaches in the south and in the north. At this point, the Kua Kan River flows into the Gulf of Thailand, forming many shallows with thickets of casuarina. This place is not suitable for swimming, except for small sections of the beach.

Vong Beach

Beach Wong Beach the first one that guests see when arriving on the island by water: here is the ferry terminal where they arrive from the mainland. It is 8 km from the capital of the island, Doung Dong, and Ham Ninh village is nearby.

The surrounding nature looks much nicer than the beach itself, especially considering that two additional berths are currently under construction.

The sea here is shallow, and jellyfish are often found. It is unlikely that you will have the desire to rent housing in this part of the island, but it is quite possible to try seafood.

Fukuoka Hotel Map

(by moving the map with your mouse, you can see hotels along the entire coast)

Bai Dai beach is a quiet beach in the northwest of Phu Quoc island. It is not yet as famous as Long Beach or Bai Sao, but is gradually gaining popularity. In the article you will find detailed information about this beach.

Sand

Almost the entire length of Bai Dai beach is clean, with shallow yellow sand. A few years ago it was one of the most “pristine” beaches in all of Vietnam, but now new resorts and hotels are being actively built here. Due to construction, there is debris in some places on the beach, but fortunately this does not happen often.

On Bai Dai Beach you can still find secluded corners where there are no tourists and no hotels are being built - these are the corners that deserve best reviews beach lovers. For example, there is such a place closer to Vung Bau beach in the south, behind Cape Mong Tay.

Sea and descent into the water

The color of the sea near Bai Dai shimmers in all shades from blue to green. The water is warm and pleasant.

The descent into the water is quite gentle, so the beach is well suited for families with children and those who have not yet learned to swim well. Sometimes there is a small current, but usually the sea is calm.

What to see and do

Visit an amusement park

In the south of the beach there is big park entertainment called Vinpearl Land Phu Quoc ().

The vast territory contains all kinds of entertainment - water park, aquarium, slot machines, amusement park and much more. Both adults and children can have fun here. For convenience, you can stay at the Vinpearl Hotel for quick access to the park. Official website: http://www.vinpearlland.com

Active recreation on the water

Opposite Bai Dai Beach is Hon Doi Moi (Turtle Island). You can rent a kayak or book a snorkeling or diving excursion off the coast of this island - the waters around Phu Quoc are rich in marine life.

Watch the sunset

Bai Dai Beach is located on the western side of Phu Quoc Island, so you can watch the most beautiful sunsets in Vietnam. Everyone who comes to Phu Quoc needs to see such a tropical sunset at least once. Don't forget to take photos!

How to get to Bai Dai Beach

Getting to Bai Dai is not at all difficult. From Phu Quoc's main city, Duong Dong, you need to take the Cua Can Road. This road starts just after the old airport and goes to the northern part of Phu Quoc Island.

You need to drive straight along it until you get there before turning to Vinpearl Phu Quoc Resort. If you turn left, you will reach the hotel and find yourself at the southern end of Bai Dai Beach, and if you go further, you will reach Gan Dau Village, which closes the beach to the north.

I am sure that all those who leave for Vietnam from the harsh Russian winters will not only spend all their time viewing and exploring local attractions, but will also want to bask in the sun and swim in the sea on best beaches Phu Quoc.

And for those who have already been to this island or are just planning to go, below I have made a brief overview, in my opinion, of all the main beaches.

You can choose your hotel at excellent service, it searches for hotels across all major booking systems, such as Booking, Agoda, Hotels, etc. and will immediately give you the cost of the hotel in these systems. I also wrote a review about .

#1: Beach Long Beach(Long Beach)

It is located on the western coast of the island washed by the Gulf of Thailand. Since it is located on the southwest coast, from here you will, of course, be able to watch beautiful sunsets, as the sun not only sets below the horizon, but seems to fall into the sea.

The beach extends from Duong Dong and stretches south for almost twenty kilometers. The sand has a yellow tint and is bordered by a grassy edge of the shore, along which rows of coconut palms grow.

Central and Northern part is the most best place for relax. There are numerous hotels, cafes and bars along the entire road leading to Duong Dong, where you can have a delicious lunch and a glass of wine. Clean beach, there are a lot of sunbeds, compared to Thailand, it is not crowded here.

The southernmost part of the beach is mostly deserted, with lonely fishing shacks made from palm leaves located in the distance. Little by little, construction is increasingly covering its southern part. So, soon there will be hotels and other developed infrastructure here too.

Bai Sao is not inferior to Long Beach in its significance and beauty. Its length is about two kilometers, and it is located in the southern part of the island, 25 kilometers from the capital Duong Dong. Bai Sao is a fairly secluded beach with soft and white sand - one of the few on the island.

You can not only passively tan on it, but if you prefer whiter leisure, then here you can rent a jet ski, go scrolling or just ride a banana. Also near the beach there are several hotels and restaurants that offer European, Vietnamese or Russian dishes.

Here in the ocean you can see starfish, and if you're lucky, small squid. In the northernmost and southernmost areas of the island, there are places where you will find corals.

Adviсe:

  • From May to October the sea in this place is calm, as the winds go to the western part of the island. And from October to May the sea will be rough, especially in the middle of the day.
  • Bai Sao is a popular beach and can be crowded at times. But if you are looking for solitude and peace, then come to it either early in the morning or in the evening to admire the amazing sunset.

Bai Ong Lang is located on the west coast of Phu Quoc. It is located between the town of Ganh Dau and Duong Dong. Bai Ong Lang is not continuous, but consists of a series of small sandy beaches separated by ridges of stones.

All recreational areas at the resorts are well maintained and regularly cleaned of debris that washes up on the shore. This is wonderful quiet place, not crowded with tourists, beautiful white sand, with crystal clear water.

There are no shops on this one, so it’s best to buy everything you need in advance and bring it with you. But if you want to drink cocktails or beer, you will find a bar or restaurant next to the hotel. If you are not satisfied with the food here, you can always go to Duong Dong, which is located a 15-minute drive from the beach.

Sometimes a seller walks along the beach and offers to buy you fresh pineapple, mango or watermelon. Sun loungers on this beach can be rented and cost about 50 (VND) VND per day.

#4: Beach Bai Ahem(Bai Khem Beach)

Bai Khem (also known as Kem Beach, Bai Khem, Bai Khem, and also called “Cream Beach”) is another white sandy beach Phu Quoc, located on the southeast coast south of An Thoi Town, 24 kilometers from Duong Dong.

Bai Khem is a beautiful crescent-shaped beach. Wet white powdery sand creaks pleasantly underfoot. The sea here is calm with a greenish-blue tint. In connection with which it received the name – Emerald Bay.

Although the beach itself is not as large as Long Beach or Bai Sao, it also attracts tourists with its romantic scenery. A fishing village is located comfortably next to the beach.

There are also bars and restaurants on Khem Beach that offer freshly prepared seafood. By visiting this place, you can buy fresh shrimp, oysters or snails that have just been caught directly from the fishing boats, and then take them to the restaurant, where they will be prepared for you on the spot according to the recipe you have chosen.

Vung Bao is located in the northwest of Phu Quoc Island between Cua Bi Beach in the south and Bai Dai Beach in the north. It opens from it great view on neighboring island Hong Mong Tai, it has a good place for swimming, as well as for fishing and scrolling.

Bai Dai Beach Nha Trang or a multi-kilometer deserted and almost wild beach twenty kilometers south of the city. I had been planning to go to this beach for a long time, but it absolutely did not allow me to get out of the house over long distances. Fortunately, January in Nha Trang is still pleasing with more or less good weather, and before leaving we still managed to see one of the most beautiful beaches in Nha Trang :)

Very beautiful beach Bai Dai in Nha Trang

Bai Dai Beach Nha Trang. Description

Bai Dai Beach stretches for almost 17 km in the bay between the cities of Nha Trang and Cam Ranh. By the way, the very name of the beach Bãi Dài is translated from Vietnamese as “long beach”.

The long beach of Bai Dai (Bai Zai) stretches for almost 17 km!

Previously located nearby military base and therefore this coastal part was inaccessible to tourists. Even now this part of the coast is not yet very popular among tourists, but luxury hotels are being built on the shore at a tremendous pace, some of which will open their doors this year, so that soon Bai Dai beach will be filled with vacationers :)

Hotel construction is in full swing along the coast
Very soon the luxurious villas will open their doors to tourists

Now most of Bai Zai Beach is completely wild and, therefore, unkempt; there is a lot of natural garbage on the beach, and in some parts the beach resembles a landfill.

There is garbage, no people!
Wild areas of Bai Dai Beach
I really like landscapes like this
Landscapes of southern Vietnam: Bai Zai

But still, on the long seventeen-kilometer beach you can find almost a piece of paradise! We found two sections of the beach where you can calmly spend the whole day:

  • Beach next to the Dessole Sea Lion Beach Resort. Coordinates: 12.035087, 109.214825
  • The site is at the very beginning of the beach under the mountain. Coordinates: 12.110496, 109.193802

Beach, sand, sea, waves, shadow

The beach strip of Bai Dai Beach is very long; lovers of walks along the sea will be pleased :) The beach itself is quite narrow.

The sand on Bai Dai Nha Trang is white and very fine, green grass grows near the shore. The sea is bright turquoise, and the combination white sand, the bright green grass and azure sea at Ban Zai reminded me of the chic in!

The landscape is almost like near our Parayso Beach Hotel in Tulum in Mexico
Almost Mexican landscapes :)
The sand on the beach is fine, white and fluffy
There are pebbles and shells near the water's edge

There are always waves in the sea at Bai Dai Beach in winter, but they don’t seem as huge as on. The sea is shallow, the entrance to the water is gentle. But swim in some places on Ban Dai beach dangerous! The shallow sea and small waves create the illusion of safety, but in fact, there are reverse currents (rip currents) in the sea here, so you need to be very careful when swimming on this beach, swim only in strictly designated areas and do not swim too far!

These are the waves on this beach in winter
The waves on Bai Zai Beach are very dangerous! Rip currents meet here
In some areas of the beach there are posters warning that swimming is dangerous.

There is almost no natural shade on Bai Zai Beach. If you are going to this beach for the whole day, you should either take an umbrella with you, or rent a sun lounger under an umbrella, or look for a few places with shade.

There is very little shade on the beach
There is not much vegetation near the shore that provides shade

Infrastructure

Most of Bai Dai beach is completely wild and there is no infrastructure nearby. Small areas belong to a few hotels: of course, the hotels have all the necessary infrastructure, including beach beds and umbrellas, but they are not rented out to non-hotel guests even for a fee.

At the very beginning of the beach, under the mountain, there is a row of cafes, next to which you can leave a bike for 5,000 dong, where you can also rent a beach chair under a canopy. At the cafe you can dine on fresh seafood or drink a cup of Vietnamese coffee. People love to come to these cafes on Bai Dai Beach on vacation. local residents on weekends! The noisy Vietnamese are a real pleasure :) But on weekdays it’s empty.

If you drive a little further south (or walk along the seashore from a row of cafes along the beach a little to the right), you will find a very nice place with several sun loungers under umbrellas. Here, normal sunbeds (not chairs!) can be rented for only 50,000 VND per person.

At the very beginning of the beach under the mountain there are several cafes where you can eat inexpensive seafood and rent a beach chair under a canopy. There are crowds of Vietnamese here on weekends!

Bai Dai Beach hotels

On this moment There are only a few hotels open on Bai Dai, I already talked about them in.

You must understand that when choosing a hotel on Bai Dai beach, you find yourself in a reservation, almost like somewhere in the desert in Egypt :) There are no cafes or shops nearby. I’m not even sure if you can rent a bike at the hotel... Of course, a taxi to Nha Trang is at your service.

Bai Zai Beach: how to get there

Bai Zay Beach is located on the way from Nha Trang to Cam Ranh Airport, from the center of Nha Trang to the beginning of the beach about 22 km. Organized excursions, such as, for example, to Doc Let beach, to Bai Zai beach, fortunately, are not available yet :)

You can get to Bai Zai Beach by:

1. Taxi. A taxi from to Bai Dai Beach will cost about 200,000 VND one way (not by meter, by meter it will be more expensive! Negotiate the price in advance!) or approx. 400,000 – 500,000 dong waiting for you for several hours.

2. By bus. Because The beach is located on the way to the airport, so you can get to it by bus No. 18. I posted the schedule of this bus in. Bus number 18 stops at stops with orange signs. Just tell the conductor that you need to go to Bai Dai beach, he will tell you where to get off. On the way back, you just need to go to the stop and look out for the bus. Only you will have to stand in the dust and in the very heat, there is no shade. The fare is 30,000 VND per person.

Bus stop No. 18 on the road along Bai Zai Beach

3. On a bike. The best way to get to Bai Zai Beach is by bike. The road is not difficult, as soon as you leave Nha Trang and drive through, the traffic will become much calmer than in the city. The road to the beach passes by picturesque mountains, beautiful landscapes open up and it seems that you are no longer in Nha Trang :) Even the air becomes different - clean, mountain-sea :)

Bai Dai Beach review and photo

Bai Dai Beach is a great place for relaxation and photo sessions: beautiful nature, few people (on weekdays), fine sand, warm sea. The bright landscapes are pleasing to the eye, especially if you know how to ignore the garbage around: yes, there is garbage, where would we be without it, after all, the beach is almost wild.

After living for about two weeks in resort town Nha Trang, we inevitably wanted a beach holiday in exotic and ideal conditions. The city beach of Nha Trang has rather dirty coarse sand and big amount vacationers, especially on weekends and holidays. We explored the surrounding area and found the cleanest deserted beach, about 7 kilometers long, called Bai Dai Beach.

How to get to Bai Dai Beach?

Bai Dai Beach is located 23 kilometers from the center of Nha Trang and 15 kilometers from Cam Ranh, where a major international airport is located. Despite the impressive distance for two people on one small scooter, it is covered easily and naturally. The roads are excellent everywhere, there are no steep descents or ascents, and because of the views you can stop every 5-6 kilometers, just like for a fruit smoothie). Buses from Nha Trang run every 15-20 minutes, any bus to Cam Ranh will do.

Hotels and beaches of Bai Dai.

Since the beach is very long, exoticism and cleanliness are not always at the highest level, especially local coastline is very actively being built up with hotels. Most are still closed and people are walking around them construction works. We found it easily perfect place for relaxation, between the Fusion Resort and Movenpick hotels. Wild beach itself turned out to be wonderful and unusually clean, but signs hanging everywhere prohibiting swimming in unequipped places forced us to walk 30 meters to the beach of the Fusion Hotel. The purest fine sand, clear azure water, the absence of neighbors and the soft Vietnamese Sun made us fall in love with Bai Dai Beach. Despite the proximity of the hotel, the several times that we came there, the landscape was beautiful and almost completely deserted. Hotels on Bai Dai Beach are quite varied, from the budget Fusion, to Mariott and Radisson. And here inexpensive hotels There are only a few on the second line so far.

How to find Bai Dai Beach?

You can find the beach at Google Maps When you search for “Bai Dai beach”, there is a dot with the name in Russian, you can’t go wrong. Based on the location of our place, be guided by the exit to the sea between the hotels. At the very beginning of the beach, on the Nha Trang side, there is a good Shack Vietnam cafe with seafood, but other than that there are no shops or other cafes, so be sure to take water and something to eat with you.
