Wide, long tracks alternate with narrow turns and chutes and vast expanses of untouched virgin soil. central District skiing - intermountain basin Idalp (2300-2870 m). Three gondolas lead to it from the city. Wide blue and red (in some places black and red) trails descend into the basin from all sides. Training skiing is possible on routes 6 and 8; route 13 is more interesting. To the right of Idalp - transition to mountain range Palnkorf (2864 m), where there are many virgin fields and red and black pistes predominate. Particularly attractive for good skiers is the long descent 40 and the black lumpy route 34. From the top, a long route along a wide valley leads to the center of Samnaun (Switzerland). The small Swiss village is interesting primarily for its abundance of duty-free shops offering alcohol, cigarettes, cosmetics and perfumes at affordable prices Duty Free. It is recommended to study customs regulations when purchasing.

To the left of the Idalp basin is the transition to the Swiss part of the ski area, Alp Trida. There are also many quite blue and red slopes descending into it, and in case of lack of snow, the best skiing is in this area. From here you can get to the suburbs of Samnaun, but it is better to use the two-story cabin of the new funicular. To return to Ischgl, it is worth taking routes 5 and 1, which from an altitude of 2600 meters “falls” straight into the city; at times they have narrow and steep terrain. These trails are not very suitable for beginners - in the afternoon they are often broken and overcrowded.

Ischgl Hotels
In Ischgl there is one 5*s hotel, the famous Trofana Royal, as well as a significant number of good four-star hotels for every taste. Hotel Garni Aurikel Corso is located very conveniently and very close to the ski lifts. You can also rent apartments there, which is convenient when staying with children. Next to the Silvretta cabin is the cozy Hotel Almhof. The best designer hotel in the resort is Madlein; in terms of services it is more comparable to 5*. Among the hotels with good reviews- also a four-star Goldener Adler, it is located in the very center of the resort, approximately 250 km from the ski lift. In total, there are 45 4* and 5* hotels in Ischgl. Other Ischgl hotels with good reviews:

Fliana 4*s– one of the best spa hotels in the resort with renovated rooms is located right next to the ski lift. Excellent wellness center.

Hotel Brigitte 4*S located in the center of the resort, but quite quiet place, on a hill. Nice wellness center with swimming pool and saunas.

Elizabeth 4*– one of the best “four” resorts recently became an art hotel. The hotel displays more than 120 works by talented artists and sculptors, and hosts a permanent exhibition. An updated modern fitness center will open in the 2015/16 season, and a designer pool and spa will open next season.

Many 3* hotels also provide an excellent range of services and offer small spa centers (usually without a swimming pool). Almost all of Ischgl's "fours" have good spas with a large selection of saunas and steam rooms, and quite often with their own pool. There is a good wellness complex at the Post 4*s hotel: in addition to saunas and baths, it has adult and children's pools and an ice grotto.

Ischgl is a fairly sprawling resort, and if placement near the ski lifts (they are located at different sides villages), you need to look carefully at the map.

Restaurants and bars in Ischgl
“Relax... If you can” - this is how the resort’s slogan is translated. “Ischgl is not a place to sleep,” say resort regulars. And indeed: the most interesting part of the resort’s life begins at night, after 22.00-23.00 and continues “until the doctor arrives,” that is, until dawn. Always crowded and fun at Trofana Alm, located next to the resort's only five-star hotel, Trofana Royal. Although many celebrities and glamor lovers prefer the fashionable Pacha disco, which is located in the resort's most stylish hotel, Madlein. There is no crowd even during the day in two establishments on main square, at the Silvrettabahn lift: Kuhstall competes with Feuer&Eis in decibels and megaliters of beer and other drinks. In general, in Ischgl there is a lot of places to have fun, the main thing is that you have enough energy left for anything else, at least to go upstairs somewhere around noon and eat the coveted plate of hot soup.

Ischgl, which at first was wary and even somewhat unkind towards our tourists, is now very happy with guests from Russia, and not only in the low January season. The owners of many hotels (and there are plenty of good “fours” in Ischgl) have been eyeing our tourists for a couple of years, and, having assessed the average size of bills and tips left, are now looking forward to the arrival of the Russians. True, in New Year's period The popularity of Ischgl can play a cruel joke on those who do not like the dominance of their compatriots: from the end of December until January 11-12, Russian speech can be heard everywhere in the resort.

Ischgl is one of the resorts (together with Samnaun) of the Silvretta ski area, and its main difference from many others is its hyperactive life, many tourists, discos, parties, combined with stunning slopes for skiing (though not extreme). The resort gained popularity about 30 years ago and since then has the reputation of being one of the most popular in the whole country.
