Ski school Fox Mountain. Fox Mountain in Balashikha - it used to be better. Summer holidays

“Fox Mountain” is an all-season sports and ski complex in Balashikha. The resort is quite young, but has already won the love of tens of thousands of residents of the capital region thanks to its modern infrastructure, beautiful landscapes, favorable ecology and many additional entertainments. “Fox Mountain” is perfect for amateurs skiing who do not have the opportunity or desire to travel abroad.

The Lisya Gora sports and ski complex is developing rapidly. Already, the owners have managed to bring the service to a level quite comparable with foreign ski resorts. The slopes are equipped to the highest international standards: the slopes are equipped with lifts, lanterns, and snow cannons. Experienced instructors provide all kinds of assistance to guests. There is an equipment rental station at Fox Mountain.

The complex belongs to the all-season category, which means that recreation here is possible at any time of the year. Of course, in the summer skiing alpine skiing inaccessible, but you can roller skate, go hiking, fish, jogging, tennis, paintball and other outdoor activities.

The ski season on Fox Mountain begins in November and ends in May. Even when there is not much snow around, European-made snow guns provide the required quality of cover.

On the slopes of the sports and ski complex, the height difference is 65 m. In total, there are 5 trails of varying difficulty levels on “Fox Mountain”. Beginner skiers, children, experienced athletes and even professional extreme skiers can ski here. The slopes of the resort are especially good for beginners: the height difference is very comfortable for those who are just learning to ski or snowboard.

Slopes

West

The western slope is ideal for beginners. Sloping, wide track without sharp turns and springboards provides a smooth and slow descent: what is required for beginners who are still unsteady on their skis.

Eastern 1

The Vostochny 1 slope is intended for skiers with an average level of training. The track is quite flat, it begins with a smooth and slow descent, but then a sharp slope follows, accelerating the athlete to a very high speed. It’s not easy to stay on your feet, so before descending from “East 1” it’s worth practicing on the easier Western slope.

Vostochny 2

Route universal type. The slope does not have significant differences, but it cannot be called gentle either. Skiers maneuver a lot on easy turns; there are several rather difficult climbs. Both beginners and experienced skiers can ski on the slope.

Northeastern

The northeastern slope of Fox Mountain belongs to the category of “black” slopes for extreme skiing. Only real pros of snowboarding or alpine skiing will be able to slide down this steep slope.

Training

The training slope is the first place visited by people who find themselves on Fox Mountain for the first time. In the company of an instructor, novice skiers will gain their first skills in maneuvering downhill.

All slopes of the Fox Mountain resort are illuminated according to FIS standards and equipped with modern lifts.

One of the symbols of the city of Nizhny Tagil ( Sverdlovsk region) is Fox Mountain, on which the tower stands. It is located in historical center and is the dominant feature of the city. All year round it opens from it great view to the city and surrounding area. Its history is interesting; a lot happened here in different periods of time.

Why wasn’t it razed like the neighboring Vysokaya Mountain? This is because Fox Mountain consists of igneous rocks - augite and diabase-porphyrites. These are trifling minerals, so they are of no value.

However, its location is excellent. When the Tagil River was dammed and a pond was formed, this mountain became the dominant feature of the factory settlement. There is a pond at the foot, and a wonderful view opens from the top. In addition, almost from the first years of the founding of the factory village, a market was located at the foot of the mountain, occupying quite a decent area in size. Since the entire village was visible from the mountain, there was a patrol on it to monitor fires and nomads. Initially there was a wooden hut on the mountain.

Everything changed at the beginning of the 19th century. It was at this time that a stone tower appeared on the mountain. It is believed that the date of its construction is 1818, as indicated by the inscription on the cast-iron plate in the lining of the base. But is it? There is a version that Nikolai Nikitich Demidov, who at that time was the owner of Tagil factories and a participant in the Patriotic War of 1812, wanted to erect a chapel in honor of the victory of the Russian people over Napoleon. But this cannot be, because at that time a new round of the church’s struggle against schismatics began, the staff of clergy was reduced and, of course, small chapels were liquidated. The Church could not allow the chapel to be built, much less consecrate it.

The most plausible version of the installation of a tower on the mountain is associated with a love story. This is the love story of Nikolai Nikitich Demidov and Baroness Elizaveta Alexandrovna Stroganova. Elizaveta Stroganova married Nikolai Nikitich Demidov, a wealthy industrialist, in December 1793. According to the memoirs of contemporaries, family life was not smooth. She liked social life and wanted to be the center of attention; she was attracted to everything French (Gallomania). He is a major industrialist, strict at home, and a philanthropist. However, their marriage was not of convenience, as it seemed from the outside. This is confirmed by the correspondence of the couple.

Nikolai Nikitich Demidov and Elizaveta Aleksandrovna Stroganova

In one of her letters to her husband (1815-1817), the baroness recalled the initial, happy period of their life together, when they visited the Vaux-le-Vicomte palace near Paris.

In the letter, Elizabeth recalls how they admired the sunset together “...climbing the spiral staircase to the rotunda on the dome", and invites "Nicolas" to repeat this " adventure" Such memories in Elizaveta Alexandrovna’s letters were one of her favorite topics and there is nothing unusual here. But here’s an interesting coincidence: in the tower on Fox Mountain there is a spiral staircase, a rotunda, and a place from where you can admire the sunset.

On March 27, 1818, Elizaveta Aleksandrovna Stroganova-Demidova died suddenly. Despite the “unsmooth family life” and the breakup before Elizabeth’s death, the couple maintained a good relationship. In architecture, the Lisyegorsk Tower is very similar to the crowning rotunda of the Vaux-le-Vicomte Palace. It is on this memory that the assumption of the construction of the Lisyegorsk Tower is based in memory of the deceased Elizaveta Stroganova-Demidova and the happy days of the Demidovs.

The Vaux-le-Vicomte Palace is also famous for the fact that a man in an iron mask was kept here, and it was Nicolas Fouquet, for whom this palace was built. This mask was actually not iron, but velvet, and underneath it they hid a face known throughout France. In addition, the well-known American version of the film about the man in the iron mask with Leonardo DiCaprio in the title role was also filmed in this castle. In the film Vaux-le-Vicomte was royal palace, and all exterior scenes take place on steps or in a park.

Still from the film "The Man in the Iron Mask" (1998)

Initially, the tower on Fox Mountain had four entrances, four porticoes and columns. At least, this is exactly how the architects depicted it in the drawings of 1828. But since 1851, it has only one entrance and, accordingly, one portico (canopy over the porch). It was in this form that the tower on Fox Mountain stood for most of its history and looks like this now.

The tower was also used as an observatory. Allegedly, at the beginning of the 19th century, Demidov became interested in astronomy and ordered his managers to arrange a place for him to observe celestial bodies. There is, however, little evidence for this. One of them is a mention of the presence of an observatory in 1837. Then the 19-year-old heir to the throne, the son of Nicholas I, was traveling around Russia with his retinue. The current emperor sent the heir to get acquainted with the country that he was to rule. The 19-year-old boy was not so interested in the industry at that time, but the Tagil residents found something to surprise the heir - with illumination.

Alexander Nikolaevich's companions included the Tsarevich's tutor, the famous poet Vasily Andreevich Zhukovsky, who mourned the death of Alexander Sergeevich's friend Pushkin three months ago, and adjutant Colonel Semyon Yuryevich. And if the great poet very dryly described the trip to Nizhny Tagil, then S.A. Yuryevich wrote very detailed letters and reports to his wife along the route. He wrote what the future Emperor Alexander II saw on Fox Mountain:

“A high mountain with an observatory, all in the bright fire of countless numbers of bowls, struck our eyes, already accustomed to the brilliance of this kind; all this was reflected in the waters of a large reservoir of mountain waters, and an illuminated boat in the middle of these waters with a choir of musicians and singers playing the Russian anthem of Lvov, which had not reached our ears for a long time, completed our enchantment. Grand Duke s true pleasure admired one and listened to another. This music was delightful to him...”

Since it was reported that there was an observatory on Fox Mountain, it means that it really happened. Obviously, Yuryevich asked what kind of tower it was, and received the answer that it was an observatory and weather station. In addition, Pavel Nikolaevich Demidov continued all his father’s affairs, and it is logical to assume that the tower on Fox Mountain was built not as a watchtower, but for memory and observation (of the stars and celestial bodies)... Confirmation of this was found in the storage rooms of the central city library of Nizhny Novgorod Tagil: telescopes, a compass and a thermometer from the 18th-19th centuries were found. In addition, from August 1835 to April 1836, Halley's comet could be seen from Earth. And this could be one of the purposes for building the observatory. There is also information that the exiled Polish revolutionary Adolf Yanushkevich, the librarian of the first public Tagil library, who lived in Nizhny Tagil in 1853-1856, was also engaged in meteorological observations at the Tagil Observatory.

Located on the most high point terrain, the Lisyegorsk Tower was rebuilt in the 1850s after a number of large fires in the Nizhny Tagil and Vyysky factory villages and began to be used as a fire tower. She performed these functions using a special system of signals - throwing out lanterns and sounding the alarm bell. The tower again became a watchtower... It stopped performing this service with the appearance of a fire tower on Aleksandrovskaya Street at the beginning of the 20th century.

IN Soviet time the tower served various functions. In the years Civil War it served as an observation post. In the 1930s, it was chosen by meteorologists, and in 1956 a television repeater was equipped on it. In the summer of 1972, Yaropolk Lapshin filmed a film in the Urals based on the novel “Privalov’s Millions” by Dmitry Mamin-Sibiryak. Part of the filming took place in Yekaterinburg, and part in Nizhny Tagil. Several episodes were filmed on Fox Mountain.

Still from the film "Privalov's Millions"

Now Fox Mountain and the tower on it are simply a symbol of the city and a place of mass celebrations, from here a picturesque panorama of the city opens. For a long time it stood desolate. I had a chance to visit Fox Mountain in 2013 and the tower was in a sad state.

The situation improved in 2015 thanks to the mayor S.K. Nosov. Already in the spring of 2015, the tower was surrounded by scaffolding. A staircase of stone slabs was built on the mountainside and the area around was landscaped. On August 6, 2015, at an altitude of 265 meters above sea level in Nizhny Tagil, the most small museum countries. The renovated tower on Lisya Mountain, together with a tiny exhibition inside, has become a new branch of the Gornozavodskoy Ural museum-reserve. The area of the museum inside is only about 13 m2, in three corners there is a shelf with exhibits about the history of the tower, in the fourth there is a cast-iron spiral staircase. Unfortunately, for safety reasons, you cannot climb the stairs to the second floor of the tower.

Ski resort "Fox Mountain" in Balashikha on video

Good day!

I recently acquired a new hobby - alpine skiing. I’ve only been skiing for two seasons, so I don’t pretend to be a professional skier and I don’t go to mountainous areas yet.

Fifteen minutes from my house there is an interesting place called “Fox Mountain”.

The mountain itself is construction waste dump(concrete, reinforcement, etc.), sprinkled with earth. But, in principle, I don’t care, the main thing is that at the beginning of winter it is prepared for skiers, leveled, snow cannons and nets are installed and lifts are set up.

Why then "FOX Mountain"?

Most likely, because nearby is the Balashikha fur farm, where foxes are bred.

Where is it located and how to get there?

It is located in the Moscow Region, in the city of Balashikha. It is more rational to get there along the Entuziastov highway.

I recommend it to those who are just starting to learn alpine skiing or snowboarding, to families with children who want to take them for a ride on inflatable cheesecakes, and to people living nearby. I hope that management will see my review and listen to the public’s opinion!

→ Construction of the Fox Mountain ski resort in Balashikha near Moscow.

On one of the days of the Moscow exhibition “18 Ski Salon” CEO ski resort Lisya Gora, as part of the ski bild EXPO program, invited the linguaXtrem company to visit its resort.

The delegation included:

  • director pisteandpowder- non-standard programs ski holiday Alfred Hartmann from Germany;
  • Director linguaXtrem- multilingual support bureau for the ski industry and extreme species sports Maria Danilova
  • Winner of the award "Big blogger of the portal about skiing and snowboarding, ski resorts and travel SKI.RU" Maxim Danilov.

Because the " Fox Mountain"is a resort under open air- there is no snow on the slopes yet, and you can see with your own eyes the amount of work going on in full swing on the slopes.

So. General information about the resort:

Official website of the resort http://www.foxrock.su

Full Slopes for skiing four.

Their lengths, without rollouts:

  • First slope 285 meters
  • Second slope 315 meters
  • Third slope 320 meters
  • The fourth is 315 meters.
The specified slope lengths are more accurate and differ from those published on the official website of the resort.

Maximum difference in skiing heights by October 2011. is 65m. (the mountain was filled in height relative to last season).

Due to a huge reworking of the structure of the resort's pistes (more on this below), the cheesecake slope was finally separated from the ski slopes and the training slope. This is logical, the same thing was done in Tuutari Park in St. Petersburg.

Snowmaking capacity has been doubled compared to 2010, which allows snow to fall faster, denser and more evenly. Now the resort has 7 powerful snow guns Lenko and Technoalpin.

The height of the snow cover, starting from December 15, is kept at 70 cm, most of The layer of snow is always artificial.
Lifts - 5 rope tows and one children's rope lift.

A severe headache for skiers and the source of many complaints - rope tow lifts from the Slavic manufacturer tatrapoma have undergone a COMPLETE overhaul of the rolling stock and the electrical part of the lift control systems has been replaced.

All slopes were equipped with security cameras to track skiing violators, inadequate visitors and freeloaders without passes who decided that they could walk on the slopes.

The trails are groomed daily every season. There are 2 snow groomers at the resort as snow preparation devices, but to process such a ski area they practically do not stop from the moment the slopes are closed for visitors at 12 at night until the slopes open the next day. As a result, everyone can drive on fresh corduroy in the morning!

On the slope, the lighting masts were updated, they became taller and the strength and number of lighting spotlights was increased.

An important addition - the recreation and rental pavilion has finally received a ceiling and now the main indoor area will be warmer than before.
The only “but” is that the restaurant part of the resort is rather weak; the après-ski tent as the main restaurant does not exactly correspond to the status and scope of the resort.

Rentals have been significantly expanded compared to last season with sets of skis and snowboards, and snowboard sets for very young snowboarders have appeared. The total capacity of the rental point has increased by one and a half times.

The opening hours of the resort and cafe are from 12 to 24 hours and from 10 to 23 hours. on Saturday and Sunday.

Delegation meeting

The entire delegation was received by the gene himself. director Alexey and friendly, open guys from the management of the complex.

Representative pisteandpowder from Bavaria was amazed by the recreated volumes of skiing on a small area with an initial height difference of less than 42 meters and a slope length of 130 meters.

Already now you can see the pattern of the slopes, based on the pattern of ski trails formed by the earth.

The resort is currently undergoing global construction of new trails - this will be noticed by everyone who comes to the resort this winter. The mountain has acquired a gorgeous, steep, wide northern slope; it’s a pity that it will only be put into operation in a year. This year, at the foot of this slope there will be an area for cheesecakes.

The length and slopes of all existing routes have increased.
The mountain is being filled up by another THIRD and in 2012 it will reach a height of 90m. This is the maximum possible height for a mountain created by the "fill" method without increasing the base area!

The volume of work performed is that up to 100 dump trucks have been delivering backfill and soil fasteners every day since the beginning of June, seven days a week.

All members of the delegation find it difficult to believe in such “terraforming” on a planetary scale.

Everyone who has already been there - before, the upper supports of the lifts stood on the top.... and now they are literally in a hole, relative to the new top of the mountain.

In terms of the throughput capacity of all lifts, tatrapoma are the fastest drag lifts; the resort can handle up to 3 thousand people per hour. That's a lot for someone like that small area resort and the lack of other resort facilities limits the number of possible visitors.
The limiting parameters are:

  • small parking,
  • small rental shop,
  • the presence of only 10 instructors from the League of Instructors. This is not enough for a resort near Moscow.

The most significant problem of the resort is the difficulty with transport from Moscow at the end of the working day. Both Nosovikhinskoye and Gorkovkoye Highways present a constant traffic jam around 6 pm, and therefore it is difficult to go skiing in the evening after work.

You can get to Balashikha by train, but they rarely run. A taxi is not expensive, 300-400 rubles to Novogireevo metro station, but it is also prone to standing in traffic jams.

The resort itself, even without snow, is very impressive. Especially when compared with other resorts near Moscow, where it was possible to get to during the 18th ski salon.

On Fox Mountain, there really is a place to ride, it’s great to look at Moscow from the outside, from above. For weary travelers, nearby is the Pehra-Yakovlevskoye Estate with an ancient functioning church. And for archaeologists, the “Krivichi site” is a federal monument of the 11th century!

Management shared the resort's plans for the near future:

  • The opening of the next season will be approximately December 8-12.
  • Prices for ski passes for the next season have not yet been determined, but skiing will cost either the same as in the 2010-2011 season, or a little more. And it is understandable, construction of incredible proportions must somehow be repaid.
  • There are plans to purchase additional snowcats for preparing trails.
  • After soil shrinkage in 2012-2013. on new heights A chair lift will be installed with an inflection towards the river, and the slope with routes 4 and 5 will increase by another 100 meters in length and then “Fox Mountain” will be able to seriously compete with the routes of remote resorts of the Dmitrovskoye Highway.
  • In addition, it is planned to install a belt lift at the training site, which will greatly improve the situation for beginners.
  • The final global chord will be the huge parking lot and the hotel-restaurant building.

As a recommendation for the last idea, developers can be invited to familiarize themselves with the solutions of restaurant complexes in Austria, when there is big square fast food complex and a separate restaurant on another floor. This will separate the crowds of fast food hungry people from gourmets.

The delegation wishes this wonderful independent court every success.

It was interesting to learn that the history of the resort goes back 10 years and is connected with Austria by its first name “Tyrolian Village”. It’s a pity that the Resort was renamed and began to be developed only in the last 3 years. Of course, the volume of construction at this resort is not comparable to the activities carried out at resorts with natural elevation changes, but for artificially created hills this is truly a global change.

Representatives of the delegation unanimously support the initiative of the resort management to remove by any means those wishing to take a walk on “Fox Mountain” without purchasing lifts. and this is understandable: enormous efforts are being invested in the resort. Every artificial snowflake has a desire to make the resort better.

All members of the delegation thank the organizers of the Ski Salon, Anastasia Parafilo, for the opportunity to watch a few more ski resorts Moscow region - Kant and Snezhkom.
