  • Last minute tours to Thailand
  • Tours for May Worldwide

From Russia - by plane. There are no options here. The only question - to the local airport U-Tapao or the capital giant Suvarnabhumi - is resolved very simply: only charter flights from Russian cities fly to Pattaya and only in season, while planes from Moscow depart to Bangkok daily, there are direct flights for reasonable money, there are quite comfortable transplants. Pattaya is connected with other cities of Thailand and some neighboring countries by popular bus routes, a railway line runs through the city, and during the calm sea season, the most stubborn romantics can take a ferry from the other side of the Gulf of Thailand.

By plane

As mentioned above, it is to U-Tapao from Russia that you can only get to high season one of the tourist charters. The charter program and prices are announced closer to autumn. But flying to Suvarnabhumi is no problem. Aeroflot has a daily direct flight from Sheremetyevo, travel time is just over 9 hours, tickets start from 300-350 USD. S7 offers flights connecting in Irkutsk, Air India flies via Delhi, Qatar Airways stops in Doha, Turkish Airlines stops in Istanbul, Etihad Airways stops in Abu Dhabi, and Air China stops in Beijing. The prices are approximately the same as those of Aeroflot; the journey, under the most convenient conditions, will take from 13-15 hours.

All flights from St. Petersburg via Moscow. From Irkutsk it takes 6 hours to fly to the capital of Thailand from S7, the price is about 200 USD.

It’s a completely different story if you need to get to Pattaya from other Thai cities and some major centers South-East Asia. This is where U-Tapao comes into play. For a ticket from Phuket, Bangkok Airways asks about 2200 THB, northern Chiang Mai is connected to Pattaya by AirAsia and Kan Air, tickets from 700 THB. Flying for a weekend to do some shopping in Kuala Lumpur will cost, with good luck, 3,500 THB in both directions.

From airport to city

Buses and minibuses from different companies run from Suvarnabhum Airport to Pattaya with enviable frequency. One of popular routes- 389 Bus Transfer Services. Departs once an hour from 7:00 to 22:00. Tickets - 120 THB. If you're afraid of being late, worried that there won't be enough seats on the bus, or don't like queues, buy a ticket in advance. This service is provided by the company www.belltravelservice.com. True, the price is 2 times higher. Another disadvantage is that tickets are valid for the flight chosen in advance; plane delays or long passport control do not bother anyone. Another option is a taxi, great for families with children or groups of 3-4 people. It is better to order a car in advance; the transfer will cost 1200-1600 THB for all passengers.

By bus and minibus

Despite the cheapness of domestic flights, Thais love to travel between provinces of the country by buses and minibuses, which are called “minibuses” here. The ticket price depends on the comfort level and distance. There are simpler buses, there are cars with comfortable seats that turn almost into a bed, and nimble minibuses are good for short distances. The journey from Phuket will take about 15 hours, a ticket for a local VIP and VIP24 bus costs 800-1100 THB. Along the way, you will be fed a couple of times at the travel canteen, given snacks and water, and also forcibly introduced to Thai pop music and cinema. Earplugs and headphones with a player are extremely useful things for such a trip. A minibus to Trat province with Koh Chang takes 4 hours, ticket price is 200-300 THB.

You can find out the approximate cost of moving between Pattaya, other provinces of Thailand and neighboring countries by playing with calculators on the websites of 12go Asia and BusOnlineTicket.

By train

An option for those hungry for new experiences, exoticism and railway romantics. There is 1 train a day from Bangkok to Pattaya, departure from the capital at 6:55, you will be there at 10:34, unless the train decides to be delayed on the way - and this is not at all uncommon for Thai railways. All the way, some Thais will sell a variety of food, while others will eat it non-stop. An interesting way to get acquainted with the life of ordinary people, especially since the route usually runs trains with 3rd class carriages, a ticket for which for such a distance costs about 30 THB.

On a ferryboat

In the high season, when the sea in the Gulf of Thailand is not rough, but passenger ships are allowed to leave the ports freely, it is theoretically possible to arrive in Pattaya by ferry from Hua Hin or Samui. The decision to launch (or not launch) a route, as well as schedules and prices, are made by carriers closer to the point. In past seasons, the speed of ferries on the Hua Hin - Pattaya line has increased from 6 to 3 hours, the price one way is about 1200 THB.

How to get to Pattaya from the airport? This question often arises among travelers who are organizing for the first time. independent holiday in Thailand and want to choose an option that will make the route from Bangkok Airport to Pattaya as fast, comfortable and affordable as possible. In this article I will talk in detail about several of the most convenient and available ways, which will allow minimal costs money and time to travel the route between the two airports of Bangkok and Pattaya.

THE CONTENT OF THE ARTICLE (you can click on the link for a quick transition)

How to cheaply get to Pattaya from Suvarnabhumi Airport

Due to main airport Thailand is located between Bangkok and Pattaya, it makes sense to get to the named resort directly after arriving in the country, bypassing a visit to the capital (unless, of course, visiting it is not included in your plans for the first days of your vacation). So, you have arrived at the main airport of the country, having saved a lot of money thanks to the fact that you took advantage of practical advice from the article. There are two proven ways to get to Pattaya from this airport: by regular bus and by taxi. I don’t even consider the plane, because... the distance between Suvarnabhumi and Pattaya is only 110 km.

Buses from Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) Airport to Pattaya

The easiest way is after arriving and going through all the procedures, go down to the first floor of Suvarnabhumi Airport (Level 1). Between exits to streets No. 7 and No. 8 there are ticket offices where you can purchase tickets for a comfortable regular bus to Pattaya for 120 baht. Travel time is about 2 hours, with the final stop being at the southern bus station of Pattaya, in the Jomtien area (the intersection of Thappraya and Thepprasit streets). Bus service on this route is provided by Airport Pattaya Bus. Boarding and disembarking from the blue bus of company No. 389 takes place next to exit No. 8, under a canopy. Personally, I used the said bus in the opposite direction, i.e. I got from Pattaya to the airport: I liked it.

Bus schedule Suvarnabhumi Airport - Pattaya of the Airport Pattaya Bus company - table from the official website of the company (picture clickable). The website also states that buses from the airport to Pattaya departing at 21:00 and arriving at the North bus station at 22:00, not the South. The website also lists the ticket price as 120 baht (2018). Previously the cost was 124 baht and 132 baht (2014-2016). Please note that the schedule is subject to change (during the low season, instead of 16 flights per day, only 10 flights can be operated, i.e. the interval between flights in both directions increases).

The disadvantage of this method of getting to Pattaya from the airport by bus is the fact that at the time you need, there may not be any seats left on the specified bus. You will either have to purchase a ticket for the next flight and wait 1-2 hours (depending on the time of day), or use other transport options to Pattaya. For example, you can use a large bus from another company, Bell Travel Service Co. The buses of this company are no less convenient, but in this case you get one big advantage. The price includes delivery not only to (near the intersection of Sukhumvit Highway and North Pattaya), but also delivery by minibus directly to the entrance of your hotel.

This is very convenient if you have oversized luggage, and you already know where you are going to stay in Pattaya. Transfer from a large bus to a minibus is carried out directly at the North Bus Station in Pattaya and you do not need to pay anything extra. You don't have to worry about missing your bus due to flight delays or lengthy passport control. The company promises that in this situation, you can easily get to Pattaya on the first next bus from Bangkok Airport to Pattaya.

Unfortunately, this company's transfer from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Pattaya has become much more expensive in 2019. If previously the transfer cost was 240-280 baht, now you can buy a ticket online for such a bus for 400-420 baht. Maybe it's still a good option if you are traveling alone. But if you have two or three passengers, it is more profitable to book (more on this in the next section) and get to Pattaya faster and with more comfort. If you haven't bought your ticket online in advance, you can try to find available seats on the nearest bus to Patatia. To do this, you can contact a representative of the bus company, which is located near Gate No. 8 of Level 1 of Suvarnabhumi Airport.

Currently, buses of this company depart from Suvarnabhumi Airport from 8-00 in the morning to 18-00 in the evening, every two hours, i.e. at 08-00, 10-00, 12-00, 14-00, 16-00 and 18:00

Map of the first level of the airport and boarding locations for buses to Pattaya

Another way to get from Bangkok Airport to Pattaya is by regular buses departing from the bus terminal, which can be reached from Suvarnabhumi by the free airport shuttle bus in 10 minutes. Bus service to Pattaya is provided by several companies at once, so the cost of one ticket ranges from 106 to 250 baht. The first flight to Pattaya departs at 06-30 am, and the last one at 21-00. At the same time, cheaper buses with red stripes on the sides will take you to the North or South bus station in Pattaya, and along the way they will make frequent stops, picking up passing passengers. The most expensive buses, for 230-250 baht, will take you directly to the selected hotel (with a transfer to a minibus in Pattaya).

Transfer from Bangkok airports to Pattaya

The easiest and fastest way to get from Suvargabhumi Airport to Pattaya is a car transfer from the airport directly to the door of your hotel. As a rule, this service can be ordered on the website of many large hotels, in which you have booked a room. The cost of such services for hotels different classes may vary significantly, so please confirm in advance. When you have ordered a transfer, after all necessary procedures at the airport you can see your taxi driver (when leaving the arrival hall (2nd floor of the airport) he should have a sign with your name (surname) in his hands).

You can also always use (link to the Russian version of the site), which allows you to pre-book a transfer from Bangkok airport to Pattaya. You will be spared long negotiations with taxi drivers at the airport, because you will know in advance the cost of travel between Bangkok and your hotel in Pattaya. Another advantage of this option is a full-fledged 4-seater car with a spacious trunk.

Taxi from Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) Airport to Pattaya

Due to the fact that buses on the route Suvarnabhumi - Pattaya carry passengers only from 6-30 am to 22-00 pm, tourists arriving at night have to wait for morning at the airport, spend the night in the capital (article), or get to Pattaya by taxi . The last option is most profitable if you are going to Pattaya not alone, but in a group of 3-4 people. By the way, due to placement in luggage compartment gas cylinder, some taxi drivers do not take more than 3 passengers with oversized luggage.

The fare from the airport to Pattaya is currently 1000-2500 baht. If you want to get there as cheaply as possible, you should not order a taxi at the counters in the arrivals area (2nd floor), as this is the most expensive option. Go outside on the same floor and negotiate with the taxi driver yourself - a reasonable price in this case is 1000-1500 baht (depending on the time of day and your ability to bargain). The most reasonable option is to go up to the 4th floor of the airport (departure area) and try to catch a taxi at the entrance in which tourists arrived from Pattaya. Since long-term taxi parking is prohibited there, the driver will be the most accommodating and the probability of leaving for 1000 baht is quite real.

If you decide to take a taxi from the airport to Pattaya, you must either agree on the amount in advance, or go strictly according to the meter. In the first option, you need to immediately stipulate not only the taxi driver’s payment for delivery, but also clarify whether the specified amount includes payment for travel toll road(about 100 baht). If you want to go by the meter, also check about payment paid areas roads and remind the taxi driver not to “forget” to turn on the taxi meter. I think there is no need to say that the taxi should take you to the door of the chosen hotel.

How to get from Don Mueang Airport to Pattaya

Despite the fact that Don Mueang currently cannot boast of such passenger traffic as the main airport in Thailand, many tourists arrive in the country through this airport, because here you can board flights from neighboring countries. Since direct bus service between this airport, where almost everyone flies low cost airlines(low-cost airlines) and Pattaya are absent, you will either have to take a taxi straight away (the scheme is similar to that at Suvarnabhumi Airport, only the price is slightly higher), or get there cheaply, but with transfers.

Firstly, you can get from Don Muang Airport to the Northern Bus Terminal in Bangkok, which is called Mo Chit. Just don’t confuse it with the metro station of the same name, which is about 1.5 km from the bus station. You can get to the station from the airport by bus A1, which you can take near exit No. 6. The cost of the trip is just over 30 baht, just warn the conductor that you need the bus station, because... If there are no passengers at the stops, the bus stops only on request, and its final stop is Mo Chit metro station (you need to get to the bus station earlier). Next, at the station ticket office, purchase a ticket for the next flight to Pattaya for approximately 100 baht. Travel time is about 2.5 hours. Buses run on this route from 5:00 am to 7:00 pm.

Another option that allows you to inexpensively get from Don Mueang Airport to Pattaya is as follows: initially you need to get to the main airport (Suvarnabhumi), and then use one of the methods described above. The easiest way to travel between airports is the free shuttle bus, which operates from 5:00 a.m. to midnight. Travel time is no more than 40 minutes, and the shuttle buses are equipped with air conditioning. Buses from Don Mueang depart from the arrivals area, and at Suvarnabhumi Airport the shuttle bus arrives at the departures area. Another option: bus No. 554 and a minibus run between airports. The traffic interval is 30 minutes - 1 hour, the fare is from 34 to 40 baht, the travel time is about 50 minutes (the distance between airports is 50 km).

I hope the information contained in this article has convinced you that get from the airport to Pattaya will not be a problem even for a “beginner” independent traveler with minimal knowledge in English. If you decide to first get acquainted with the sights of Bangkok, and later go to Pattaya, I advise you to read the article, where I described in detail the most convenient and inexpensive options.

Quite often people travel from Bangkok to Pattaya and this is one of the most frequently asked questions - how to get to Pattaya. There are many ways, from budget buses to taxis, probably because the distance from Bangkok to Pattaya is short (about 150 km). I'll tell you about everything in order. Also, you may be interested or. I’m not campaigning for Chang, but it seems to me that it’s much better there beach holiday than in Pattaya.

From Bangkok airport to Pattaya

From international airport There are three ways to get to Suvarnabhumi (where you will fly from Russia) to Pattaya: by bus, taxi or rented car.

Yes, one more thing - you can get to Pattaya both from Bangkok itself and from Suvarnabhumi Airport. The second option is more common and let’s start with it.

Bus Bangkok-Pattaya

This bus company Belltravelservice makes 6 trips a day (08:00, 10:00, 12:00, 14:00, 16:00, 18:00). Tickets can be booked, cost 250 baht, travel time - 2 hours. This price includes delivery to the hotel - upon arrival in Pattaya, you will be transferred to a minibus. The ticket sales counter is located on the 1st floor between gates 7 and 8, it is impossible to miss. That is, after arriving you need to go down just one floor.

The Airportpattayabus bus company counter is located there. Ending station— Jomtien, the bus goes through the whole of Pattaya. Runs from 7 am to 10 pm, every hour. Ticket price is 122 baht, travel time is 2 hours. And if you buy a ticket to the hotel, then 250 baht.

Buses also run from the airport bus terminal, which is located 10 minutes from the airport itself, and there is a free shuttle there.

Order a taxi online

Anyone who wants a minimum of physical movements can order a transfer to . You will be met in the arrivals hall, your luggage will be taken, you will be put in a car and taken to your desired location. The good thing about this method is that there are no hassles at all, and it costs the SAME as a regular taxi, about 1,500 baht.

I have already taken a transfer from this company and was completely satisfied with it. They met us with a sign, put us in a car and took us to the hotel. Here .

Regular taxi Bangkok-Pattaya

A taxi to Pattaya from the airport will cost 1,500 baht or more, depending on where you take it. Yes, there are cases when they managed to leave cheaper, but you need to have a certain skill and be able to bargain. If you order at the counters on the second floor of the airport (arrival area), the price will be about 2500-3000 baht. Alternatively, go up to the 4th floor (arrival hall), go outside and catch a taxi driver who has just dropped off passengers. The price should be the lowest.

Don't forget that you need to clearly negotiate the price in advance. Another option is to go by the meter, but this is more relevant for short trips, I have no idea how much the counter will count, I haven’t checked. And make sure that the taxi driver understands you, Pattaya is not close, otherwise he will think that it is somewhere in Bangkok. In case of problems, mention the touristic police, take a photo of the driver and taxi number.

Car rental

I understand that Pattaya is only a 3-hour drive, but nevertheless I’ll tell you about this option. It may be useful for active travelers who are planning to travel around the area or have Pattaya as an intermediate destination. IMHO, driving around Tai by car is a pleasure: good roads, there are gas stations with cafes and 7/11 everywhere, you can go with a group. I have already outlined all the nuances in detail.

You need to rent through brokers and through them it is 2 times cheaper than directly. This is a life hack. I have booked through both of them multiple times and everything has been great. All cars will be only from trusted international rental companies, with insurance, contracts, no problems or scams.

I often rent a car for a period of 5 days or more, then it can be returned elsewhere for free (some companies charge a commission for this). And just on this site it is convenient to compare what will be cheaper, pay this commission, or not pay, since the price per day is different for all companies.

From Bangkok to Pattaya

If you get to Pattaya not from Suvarnabhumi Airport, but from Bangkok itself, then the easiest way to get there is by bus (or minivan) from two bus stations. By the way, if you are staying in the center of Bangkok, in the area of Kao San Raod street, then most likely directly from the guesthouse itself you will be able to go to Pattaya or with some travel agency located on this street or in the surrounding area, the cost of the trip in the area 200 baht. You can also order a taxi to Pattaya from the hotel, costing from 3,000 baht.

How to buy a ticket online

Payment by bank card or PayPal, electronic ticket, very convenient. I hope that they will continue to add different routes and expand functionality.

Ekkamai Bus Station

Buses run to Pattaya from Ekkamai East Bus Station. It can be reached by Skytrain to Ekkamai Station (BTS Skytrain). Here's a post about the metro, bus stations, etc. at the same link. The Ekkamai bus station is right next to the metro station.

Buses run from 5 am to 10 pm every half hour. Cost about 100 baht, travel time 2 hours, air-conditioned buses. The bus arrives at North Pattaya Street. It makes sense to make sure that this is an express bus and not a local bus, otherwise you will travel longer, about 4 hours, and you will get off on the outskirts of Pattaya, on Sukhumvit Road.

Moh Chit Bus Station

You can also travel to Pattaya from the Moh Chit Bus Terminal, which is located 1.5 km from Chatuchak Park (MRT) and Mo Chit (BTS Skytrain) stations. From these metro stations (they are nearby), you can either walk for 15-20 minutes (as on the map), or take bus 130 or a tuk-tuk. This bus station is closest to, so you can go here from this airport.

Buses run from 5 am to 7 pm every half hour, hour. Cost about 100 baht, travel time 2 hours, air-conditioned buses. The bus arrives at North Pattaya Street.

Bus station in the southeast of the city

Buses run from 5:30 am to 9:30 pm every half hour. Cost 108 baht.

Good schedule and the cost, but the location is not very convenient, you’ll have a hard time getting there only if you live somewhere nearby, or don’t mind taking a taxi.

Victory Monument

Since October 2016, minivans no longer operate from here to other cities in Thailand. The military junta was battling traffic jams in the square caused by 4,000 minibuses, which essentially created an illegal bus station in the middle of the city. Minivans have been distributed between the three main bus terminals in Bangkok and free shuttles now run from Victory Monument to these three bus stations. If you are closer to the monument than to the train stations, come here. Shuttles run from 4:30 am to 8:30 pm every 20 minutes.

Train Bangkok - Pattaya

You can also get to Pattaya by train from Hua Lamphong Railway Station, which is located right next to the Hua Lamphong MRT station of the same name. However, trains do not run as often as buses and you will have to arrive at a strictly certain time, IMHO, an inconvenient option.

Departure time is 6.55 and arrival time is 10.30. The train is without air conditioning, 3rd class, runs on weekdays. Tickets cost about 80 baht. In Pattaya, the train stop is located next to Siam Country Club in the north of Sukhumvit Road.

The map is loading, please wait...

P.S. If you are interested in accommodation in Pattaya, then it is best to look for short-term accommodation through RoomGuru, reading reviews, booking in advance. The service is convenient because it allows you to find out discounts in all existing booking systems, and in particular on Agoda, which not everyone knows about, but the same hotels are often cheaper there than on Booking.com.

Life hack #1 - how to buy good insurance

Choosing insurance now is incredibly difficult, so to help all travelers. To do this, I constantly monitor forums, study insurance contracts and use insurance myself.
