Good day everyone. I will try to leave my subjective opinion about the hotel and about Vietnam in general.
And so, we had a family vacation, two adults and two children aged 10 and 12 years, from 01.07 to 14.07.. Tour operator Anex, as the travel agent assured, when booking a certain category of rooms, with the FB food concept, only with tour operator Anex a visit to Vinpearl Island throughout recreation, including the cable car and boat are free.
A ten-hour AzurAir flight in spartan conditions and we are in Vietnam. The time difference is 4 hours plus. About 40-45 minutes and we are at the mainland hotel reception. We handed over our passports and after half an hour of registration and taking photographs, we were given 4 hotel key cards, which, as it turned out, we had to carry with us at all times both for access to the amusement island itself and for eating in the hotel itself when visiting a restaurant. By the way, these cards provide certain privileges; in particular, upon presentation, they were allowed into the same funicular without queuing.
There are two ways to get to and from the island, a boat and a funicular. Boat 5 min, funicular 15 min. The boat departs every half hour and there is always a tuk-tuk waiting upon its arrival, and after arriving by cable car, you will have to wait for the tuk-tuk as it follows a schedule. They asked for a deposit, on the advice of those who had previously left reviews here, the minibar said, but in the end they did not make a deposit.
So upon arrival, the first unpleasant surprise awaited us - the room for the four of us turned out to be tiny 28 mkv. The room itself in building 7310 is comfortable for two. Not bad for three, but for four - a double bed and a folding bed are just a song))). When trying to change the room, the reception stood up for an additional payment of 74 dollars per day and nothing else. While we took some time to think, we went to get acquainted with the hotel grounds; in general, we only spent the night in the room itself and, by default, left everything as it was. The claim is not against the hotel but against the travel agent due to incorrect information regarding accommodation. The room has all bathroom amenities, including toothbrushes and toothpaste. robes, slippers and even flip flops. An iron is provided upon request. Welcome fruit and a small selection of drinks in the minibar are free. Room cleaning was always discreet and good; tips did not affect the cleaning.
On the territory of the hotel, as well as from all of Vietnam, I expected more. Some kind of flavor, exoticism, zest, a kind of bounty - alas and ah))). In general, everything is fine, calm bay, white sea, alas, warming, unlike the Dominican Republic. sand (imported by the way - several times we saw barges sailing up and pouring sand through hoses. And then excavators leveled it along the beach), palms. a relatively good pool and by the way, to the left of the sea where there is a white statue - you can go up and see an interesting pagoda. where you can wander in peace and where there are interesting views and things to do interesting photos. Towels are provided without cards and in any quantity. There are few sunbeds, but there were always free ones. In the morning it was difficult to get a seat by the pool. Each umbrella has buttons for calling staff, followed by ordering something. The weather is 32-36, it feels like over 40. Wi-Fi works tolerably throughout the entire hotel, so I decided not to purchase SIM cards softly imposed by anex agents.
Food - we took FB and this is probably the optimal concept. It is problematic to go to Nha Trang to eat every day, and there is simply nowhere to eat inexpensively on the island itself. Alcohol, juices, water are paid. A bottle of water per person is provided per day in the room, during meals water and for breakfast juices in the form of zuko))) are free, but real juices are paid - 100,000 VND cost. The food itself seems to be a lot, but I am a meat eater - my gastronomic preferences are far from what was offered at the hotel. Feeding children is also problematic. Good breakfasts. The weakest lunches and mediocre dinners. Pho soup, frog legs, 5-6 types of fruit (sadly there were no mangoes) mediocre sushi, grilled squid, shrimp, mussels on the balcony, small pieces of meat not every day. I liked the dumplings in different forms. There was also our borscht))) but it’s hard to call this brew borscht. Meals are strictly on schedule, they notify you 15 minutes in advance that they will close soon. There is no such dress code, but at lunchtime I saw a man in swimming clothes and was reprimanded.
The contingent of vacationers is 45 percent Russian-speaking, 45 percent Chinese and a few English-speaking.
And now about the main thing - the island of entertainment. This is why we went and what we liked, with rare exceptions. One day is certainly not enough to visit. I advise you to start with attractions and dedicate a day to it. Roller coaster 2 types at the entrance, then the highlight - the electric sled (you'll actually have to wait in line for at least an hour), then everything else. The second day is a water park and rafting by the sea. It was a little disappointing that on the slides of 4 types there can only be 1 operator standing and jostling around and having to wait too. We took a ride along the lazy river with the kids. Third day - zoo, aquarium, visit a dolphin and bird show as scheduled. Fountain show at 19-00, and if you're in the mood, a 5D cinema, game room. labyrinths, it’s also interesting to ride the funicular (fortunately, according to the maps there is no queue), 3300 km is listed in the Guinness Book of Records, 80m high. in the evening illumination in the form Eiffel Tower. Well, then repeat what you liked.
For excursions, we were in a hurry and purchased individually from the tour operator - Dalat 450 dollars per family. In principle, a two-day program fit into 1 day. We visited two temples, a flower garden, took a boat ride on the river, visited the Crazy House))) and especially liked Prenn Park, where two hours was not enough - we rode ostriches and buffaloes and elephants, saw an interesting zoo, rode funicular, beautiful waterfall, suspension bridge. You can rent national clothes and take pictures in jeeps with a bazooka from the Vietnam-American War. Overall I liked everything. The only negative is the three-hour road along the serpentine road there and back. The children were sick and we didn’t cope well with the road itself. Therefore, we wanted to take Saigon and Kushchi, underground villages from the war, but due to the distance of the trip, we decided to abandon this idea.
Then only I realized it was much cheaper to take excursions in Nha Trang. from 20 to 60 dollars per nose are the most popular. RIC and Alpha Tours are, in my opinion, the most inexpensive agencies. We drove 200,000 VND taxis in the mud on our own and 1,200,000 tickets for the four of us. It'll do for a change, but in reality it's a 4-minus. I liked the mud bath itself, but the pools. Jacuzzi disdained with the local aborigines.
On Instagram we corresponded with blogger snezhana_vn. she suggested good restaurants to us in Nha Trang. which we visited with pleasure. Of the ones I especially liked - at the Havana Hotel on the 38th floor, Skylat is delicious and the whole of Nha Trang is at your fingertips and the Sailing Club on the coast. and also went to the Zima disco - nothing special but normal music and a lot of us, in the end we had a fun time. Car traffic in the country is a separate issue - 80 percent are mopeds traveling in all directions. following absolutely no rules traffic. Crossing the street is a whole adventure... We went to the market for our own - 4th - 5th line, tickled our nerves, got lost, barely got out, had difficulty finding a taxi, there was no point. On the main coastal street everything is the same, even cheaper and more civilized. They eat everything that moves. passing by we saw crocodiles on a spit, cats and dogs in tourist areas It is forbidden to eat. The trick, as they said, is to go eat where the locals eat on plastic tables, like it’s very cheap and tasty, but watching them eat and throw the leftovers under the table, I didn’t even think about going there to eat.
To summarize, I apologize for a lot of probably unnecessary information, and overall I want to say that we had a good rest. but we expected more from both the hotel and the country. In particular, I forgot to say at 6 o’clock in the evening it gets dark and after dinner the only entertainment is the pianist playing and a couple of times until 10 o’clock in the evening imported mossy musicians by the pools play bearded hits of the 20th century. No music in the hotel, no animation program, not even volleyball))))))) no. Full relax. This is to understand which hotel you are going to. Therefore, after my beloved Dominican Republic, the first couple of days were a shock, but then in the end, in principle, I liked it. It's just a different vacation.
PS A couple of tips: The season in Nha Trang, according to the advice of experienced people, is from January to August; It is convenient to calculate dongs into our rubles using the formula - minus three zeros and multiply by 3; The exchange rate at the time of stay is 22,750 to the dollar at the hotel and changes to 22,500. in the city they changed for 22650; They ask about infections - thank God we didn’t catch any infections and we didn’t hear any complaints from anyone about them. The only thing on the last day was that the wife received a burn from a jellyfish, which was very painful, according to the wife, the beach lifeguard came over and applied a special ointment and after 10 minutes the tumor was gone and by the evening everything had healed. And of course, at least 50 sun cream, even in the shade you can burn in a short period of time, I swam with my children in hydro-shirts. During the entire period it rained 1 day for two hours

When planning any trip, the question of accommodation always arises. Many hotels are ready to offer a countless variety of rooms, from which you often don’t know what to expect.

Unfortunately, there are no uniform world standards for the classification of hotel rooms, but to figure out which room is hidden under one name or another (for example, superior room- that this) is possible.

Hotel room categories

In Russian hotels, rooms are divided into a couple of different categories: higher and standard.

Higher

  • Suite(Suite). Upscale hotel room with an area of 75 m². The suite consists of at least three rooms. One of the mandatory requirements is a separate guest toilet.
  • In addition to the bedroom, the suite must have a living room and a separate office, or visually separated from the living room space.

  • Apartment(Apartment). The size of this room starts at 40 m². Requirements: at least two rooms, and there must be a kitchen area.
  • Lux(Luxe). A room that can comfortably accommodate two people. Consists of a bedroom (sometimes more than one) and a living room. The area of the Suite is at least 35 m².
  • Junior Suite(Junior Suite). This is a one-room suite, the convenient layout of which visually delimits the space into a sleeping area and a living room. The area of the Junior Suite is at least 25 m².
  • Studio(Studio). One room with a kitchen area. The Studio area is at least 25 m².
  • Standard

All standard category rooms are one-room.

The difference lies in the number of beds and the presence or absence of a bathroom in the room.

  1. 1st category(otherwise – standard). Designed to accommodate one or two people. The room has a toilet room.
  2. 2nd category. Differs from category 1 in the presence of an incomplete bathroom (sink and toilet).
  3. 3rd category. The number of people staying in this room depends on the number of beds. But at least 6 m² must be allocated for each resident. The room is equipped with either a partial bathroom or one full bathroom for several rooms.
  4. 4th category. It differs from the 3rd category room in that it only has a washbasin.
  5. 5th category. The rooms of the fifth category do not have a bathroom at all. The washbasin is located in the corridor.

Classification of hotel rooms - decoding and translation

Rooms in foreign countries may differ in classification and requirements from Russian standards.

According to European standard

View from the window - designations

In resort countries, there is also a classification of rooms according to the view from the windows. Usually, an abbreviation is added to the name of the room, for example, Deluxe, for example, G.V.(Garden View), informing you about the view that awaits you from the windows of this room. Deluxe GV is a Deluxe room with a garden view.

Let's figure out what types are hidden under certain abbreviations:

To book a hotel room, use this convenient search form. Enter city, check-in and check-out dates And number of guests.

  • The correct choice of hotel room, of course, depends on budget, on what kind of vacation you are planning on, who you are going with.
  • If it happens to you child, then you definitely need to pay attention to what sleeping area will be provided for him.
  • If you are a lover of excursions and active rest, then you will be at the hotel just sleep. Why pay extra for the benefits of Superior over Standard if you don’t even notice them? In this case, you can think about Promo room, if the selected hotel offers this option.
  • If you prefer beach holiday and you expect to spend most of your time on the hotel premises, the room should be sufficient comfortable.

In this case, the only question is what do you expect from the room and what bonuses are you willing to pay extra for.

A pleasant evening on the balcony with a glass of wine and a view of the sea will not be possible if the room does not have a balcony or the windows face the wall of a neighboring building.

It’s best when you have the opportunity to find out in advance everything about the room in which you are going to spend your vacation, so that your impressions of it remain only pleasant.

See this video for an example number Superior room:

169 years have passed since the advent of organized tourism - the first in history tourist agency Thomas Cook opened it in 1841. At the same time, few people know about the unified classification system for hotel rooms: while the official star rating of hotels in most countries has already been sorted out, then with rooms everything is somewhat more complicated.

Of course, almost every hotel whose category is higher than two or three stars can offer its guests standard, deluxe and suite rooms. But the quality and quantity of services provided in them can vary even within the same hotel. And all because there are various characteristics of the views from the windows, the functional purpose of the rooms (family, business) and even the design (for example, a Mediterranean suite in blue tones or a Caribbean suite in bright and tropical colors).

One thing is certain: a standard room in any hotel in the world should be one small room with a bed, a separate shower, a small wardrobe and a TV. The bathroom of each room should also have a standard set of towels, soap and shower gel. By the way, in some countries, for example, in China, this set is always complemented by a comb, toothbrush and toothpaste.

Common abbreviations

To begin with, it would be useful to understand the generally accepted abbreviations adopted by hoteliers around the world. If DBL (from the English "double" - double) or SGL ("single" - one, single), as a rule, do not cause any difficulties for anyone, then such ciphers as DUS (double use single - double number, which is used as single) or BG GV (bungalow garden view) can mislead even the most experienced tourist.

Standart room

If a theater starts with a hanger, then a hotel starts with a regular standard room (STD). It is according to him appearance you can get a completely adequate idea of the level of the hotel, the quantity and quality of services provided in it. All standard rooms can be divided into doubles (double rooms) and singles (single rooms). Sometimes a triple (triple) room is added to the room palette, but most often the hotel administration offers an extra bed in a double room.

Depending on the star rating of the hotel, they can vary greatly. For example, a traditional single room in a 2* hotel will be very small in area, barely able to accommodate a bed, bedside table and wardrobe. In addition, the price of your stay will include cleaning no more than once a day (if you’re lucky, or even less often), as well as a change of linen and towels every 3-5 days. The bathroom amenities will be minimal: a towel, soap and sometimes shower gel.

A completely different picture will appear before a vacationer in a single five-star hotel. A large comfortable bed, an armchair, a table with a mirror, daily cleaning, a full cosmetic set in the bathroom, including all kinds of fragrant soaps and shower caps, a hairdryer, fluffy robes and slippers, marble floors and TV with satellite channels.

Of course, the cost of such rooms varies greatly, even within the same hotel. Which is not least influenced by the view from the window. Traditionally, the most expensive are considered scenic views to the sea, ocean, mountains or garden.

The only thing that unites hotel rooms around the world into some kind of system is the star classification, which obliges hotels to maintain a certain minimum area of their rooms and the range of services in them. For example, in Iceland, a double room in a 3* hotel must be at least 18 square meters. m, single - 14. In a 4* hotel, the area of a double room should be no less than 24 square meters. m, and for one - 16 sq. m. In five-star hotels, doubles can boast 26 sq.m., while singles have 18.

Everything is also clearly spelled out among the Germans. All rooms in 1* tourist class hotels must be equipped with a hot shower and color TV, with an area of 8 and 12 square meters. m. in one and double rooms respectively. 2* - 12 and 16 sq. m, 3* - 14 and 18 sq. m, 4* - 16 and 22 sq. m, luxury rooms in 5* hotels must be at least 18 and 26 sq. m.

In addition, it is worth noting that a full bathroom, and not a shower, can only be expected from hotels of the 3* level and above. When booking doubles, you should also be careful: after all, they are divided by type of bed - one double in the room (usually designated DBL) or two singles (TWIN).

In hotels in the USA, Canada, Mexico and other countries Caribbean You can also find this type of number as moderate (MOD). It cannot be classified as a suite, deluxe, or standard - it is rather something in between, close to STD. In Europe, designations for such numbers as superior (SUP) - “improved” - are more common.

Suite

Suite (also sometimes called “suite” or “suite”) comes from the English word suite, the translation of which means “ kit" or "kit".

There are different types of suites: junior, standard, senior, executive, royal, as well as any that the hotelier’s imagination has decided to implement. Starting with the “Mediterranean”, “Caribbean” or honeymoon suite, and ending with the “Embassy”.

The lowest level in the hierarchy of suites is occupied by junior (from English “junior”). Its area is approximately 20-25 square meters. m, which is slightly larger than a standard room, and it consists of one room, divided into two areas: relaxation and living room. And yet, the difference between junior suites and traditional rooms, in addition to size, is significant: they include satellite TV, DVD, Internet access, a minibar and other options.

The standard suite is a two-room suite of 25-40 sq. m. m. The filling is the same as in the junior, the only difference is in the size, including the bathroom.

Following him are the seigneur (“senior”) or executive, or presidential suite. Accordingly, these are the most luxurious rooms in the hotel, which occupy from 3 to 7 rooms, have a private pool, sauna, entrance, butler, and so on.

Recently, suites have become a fashionable trend, and many hotels specialize exclusively in such rooms. For example, Hilton has a chain of Embassy Suites hotels, the number of rooms of which consists exclusively of suites.

Lux

Luxury (LUX), abbreviated from the English “luxury” - “luxury, luxurious”. Accordingly, deluxe rooms are the most luxurious and, as a rule, only 4-5* hotels have them. Thanks to the recommendation of the World Tourist Organization, suite area starts from 30-35 sq. m, sometimes they consist of several rooms: a bedroom and a living room.

The cost of living per night in a suite is usually twice as high as in a standard room. But for this significant premium, hotels offer guests luxurious decoration and furnishings of the rooms, picturesque views from the window, a spacious bathroom with a Jacuzzi, fluffy towels and robes, and high-quality cosmetics. Sometimes the price of a suite includes free use of a minibar, swimming pool, and fitness center. In addition, suites are sometimes deliberately placed on separate floors with their own reception, lobby, spa and restaurant.

In the Caribbean, USA, Mexico and some others, such rooms are also called deluxe, DLX.

Apartments

Apartments, in simple terms, come in two types: simpler/cheaper and luxurious/expensive. This fact depends on the star rating of the hotel. If this is a high-level hotel, then most likely apartments will mean very expensive and comfortable rooms for discerning guests. Such apartments cannot be classified: they are unique even within the same hotel, the only thing that unites them is their size, which starts from two rooms and ends with two floors. And their design depends only on the wild imagination of the hotelier.

Hotels from 2 to 4 stars, as well as specialized apart-hotels, on the contrary, offer guests quite budget rooms for a large number of guests. This could be, for example, a two-room apartment for four tourists.

Almost every apartment has a separate bedroom, its own living room, a large full bathroom and a full kitchen or cooking area. In addition, depending on its class - economy, luxury or business - they differ in furnishings and services provided. For example, luxury apartments, in addition to luxurious furnishings and an abundance of modern technology, offer their guests the services of a personal butler, in-room massage, security guard, private car with driver and a special menu: dietary, with a unique wine list, and so on. Business apartments, as a rule, guarantee guests peace and quiet, high-speed Internet, office equipment - in short, everything they need for full-fledged work.

Honeymoon rooms

They feature a romantic design, a large bed and a bathroom with a Jacuzzi, as well as specialized service - unique in each hotel. In addition to classic champagne and fruit in your room, some hotels in the Maldives offer unusual events wedding ceremonies on the beach or desert island, free visit spa centers or candlelit dinner on a yacht.

In the most romantic city in the world ( we're talking about, of course, about Paris) Hotel Four Season George V offers newlyweds to stay in the Honeymoon Suite, which is located on the top eighth floor. Needless to say, the Honey Suite terrace offers stunning views of the Eiffel Tower? And the Bellaggio Hotel in Las Vegas offers newlyweds exquisite chocolate made according to a special, “love” recipe.

In short, today rooms for newlyweds can be found in almost all major cities world, mostly in 4-5* hotels.

Bungalow

Bungalow rooms, as a rule, are located in isolated small one- or two-story buildings scattered throughout the entire hotel complex. Each such building contains 2-4 bungalow rooms, and they can be deluxe or superior class, standard or luxury suites. This type of placement is found, for the most part, on beach resorts- in Greece, Turkey, popular countries South-East Asia. Of course, a night in a bungalow costs much more than in a standard room (located in the main building of the hotel). They are usually chosen by lovers of silence and solitude.

Villa

This type of accommodation is exclusively for wealthy, discerning clients who value privacy and independence. As a rule, villas are conveniently located somewhere close to the main entertainment and infrastructure of the main building of the hotel or hotel complex, while providing maximum comfort for their guests. One- and two-story luxury houses with private pools, saunas and gardens also offer guests the services of personal butlers, secretaries or cooks. You can rent a villa either on long term(a month or two), and for the traditional two weeks, while the price does not depend on the number of residents.
