Wongamat is the most famous of the northern beaches of Pattaya, and also one of the most beautiful. Prices here, by the way, are quite high, but you can find cheaper options if you stay in bungalows and churches.

The beach is very extensive: the length is about a kilometer and the width is more than twenty meters. The descent into the water is comfortable and gentle, so families with small children and older couples will certainly enjoy it here. There is no roadway or active traffic nearby, but there are cozy restaurants serving fresh seafood.

Otherwise, the infrastructure is not particularly well developed here: there are almost no large shops with food and rental of sun loungers and other beach equipment, excursions and water activities Same. This beach is more suitable for calm, lazy people, but not for active youth recreation.

Pattaya Beach

It’s worth going here to feel the spirit of Thailand and have a good time: go to a bar or strip club, rent a banana or kayak, dance at a disco. And then return home to a calmer area.

Cozy Beach

This beach in the Pratumnak area is not so easy to get to: it is remote, almost isolated, which is why families with small children love to relax here. Cozy Beach is calm, quiet, even cozy, there are practically no tourists, and the views around are incredibly picturesque.

Despite the only developing infrastructure, here you can rent any beach equipment, go on a sea excursion around the Gulf of Thailand on a boat, go to such attractions of Pattaya as Buddha Hill and the nearby Observation deck, from where a marvelous view opens.

Prices here, by the way, are also very low, not only for bungalows and guesthouses, but also for decent hotels. There are no large stores nearby, but you can buy water, snacks and other essentials from street vendors for a small amount.

Beach of Cabbages & Condoms and Asia Pattaya Hotel

A chain restaurant with an extravagant name, which translates as “Cabbage and Condoms,” surprises its visitors with mannequins dressed in costumes made of condoms and, in fact, condoms themselves, invariably brought to the client along with the bill.

Important! Just don’t try to engage in nudism here - the restaurant staff, with all their sense of humor, will not appreciate such courage.

But here you can eat deliciously and inexpensively, and then go out onto a beautiful lawn and a small isolated beach. By the way, it is buried in greenery. At night, the lights glow beautifully here, and you can also find a cozy children's playground with swings and trampolines.

The beach area of the Asia Pattaya hotel is also nearby: you left the hotel and there was already sand and sea. It is better not to walk barefoot: the sand is strewn with shells and you can get hurt. Otherwise, the beach is clean, cozy and very uncrowded, because tourists have not heard about it yet.

Phratamnak Beach

They say that this beach has perhaps the best sunsets in all of Pattaya. Pratumnak Beach is for a relaxed, contemplative holiday. It is small - about 500 meters in length - the water and sand here are quite clean, and the territory itself is very well-groomed, especially the areas owned by hotels; there is a water park and an amusement park nearby.

Warning! You should not come here unless you are homophobic: there are indeed a lot of same-sex couples on the beach.

The infrastructure here is well developed, but you still have to go higher from the beach, closer to the city: here you will find grocery stores, bars, cafes and restaurants. Not far from the beach, by the way, are the main attractions of the resort: observation deck, Big Buddha, Chinese Temple and the famous Pattaya Park.

Dongtan Beach

Dongtan Beach in Pattaya has its own characteristics: it is located on the territory of the former military base. Don’t let this definition scare you: in fact, it is very beautiful and picturesque here, moreover, due to the special status of tourists, there are not very many tourists here yet, the sand and water are clean, and the waves do not wash mountains of garbage to the shore, as happens on many other resort beaches.

There is a lot of greenery in Dongtan - it seems like it came out of some tourist photos - the area is quite large, but not crowded, high waves It doesn’t happen, the slope is gentle, it’s very convenient to relax with children.

If you go here for the first time, you may well get lost, because you will have to cross the territory of the base on foot. But the employees are always very friendly to tourists and will definitely point you in the right direction.

The infrastructure here is not yet sufficiently developed, there are no large shops or restaurants, but there is a yacht club, the best in the resort, and you can order a coach and a guide who will teach you the basics of sailing, and at the same time show you all the most picturesque places around.

It is quite difficult to list all the beaches in Pattaya, because... coastline is long and by law all beaches are public, but in practice, if the terrain allows you to limit the entrance to the beach, which is adjacent to the territory of a large hotel, the beach actually becomes private.

Beach at The Zign Hotel, Wong Prachan Beach

In the very north of Pattaya, the list of swimming beaches is practically small. private beach hotel The Zign and then beyond it is Wong Prachan Beach (Crescent Moon), slightly longer than the previous one and overlooking. The strip of sand is very wide, and at low tide the sea goes even further and becomes very shallow. During high water, the entry into the water is quite abrupt.

There are enough sun loungers, massages and souvenirs on the beach; in the part of the beach that is closer to the center of Pattaya, there are several cafes and bars. Behind them begins a rocky cape, with huge boulders in the water and pretty beaches between them. Here good view on the large arc of Wongamat beach and the high-rise hotels along it, a lot of trees and almost complete silence. If you turn around the cape, you can walk along the sea; well-groomed small parts of the beach adjacent to expensive hotels, for example, Cape Dara, alternate with littered wastelands and mounds of empty shells among the stones. Both on Wongamata and especially on the rocky cape there are often impressive waves and wind. At low tide, large sharp rocks are exposed on the cape, usually hidden by water.

Pattaya Beach

The beach in the center of Pattaya is more of a place for parties and all sorts of noisy celebrations, parties, sunset and night promenades. Few people swim here, mostly local children. Many fishing boats at anchor, noisy highway and other urbanization, large expensive chain hotels such as Hilton and Holyday Inn, shopping centers Festival and Mike Shopping Mall.

Surrounded on all sides by the slopes of a hill overgrown with tropical vegetation, you can go down the stairs, several flights. It’s difficult to get to the beach without transport if you don’t live nearby. Public transport doesn’t walk past, it’s a bit far to walk from other areas and through vacant lots with construction sites, all that’s left is either personal transport, or a taxi.

The water on the beach is not much cleaner than on other Pattaya beaches, except that there will be less garbage in the water than in Jomtien. On one side, the beach is closed by a large hotel complex on a hill, Royal Cliff Hotels Group, on the other - a deserted cape overgrown with trees with a scattering of stones in the water. At this end of the beach, next to the stone spit, a storm drain comes out of the mountain into the sea, so it’s better to swim in the middle or closer to the Royal Cliff Hotel. The beach is about half a kilometer long, 20-25 meters wide, at low tide it becomes very shallow near the shore; to reach the depth you have to walk far ahead in ankle-deep water.

Mostly tourists from nearby hotels swim at Cozy Beach. In the morning there is quite a lot of shade from the trees on the beach, but there are also paid sun loungers, beach cafes and massages; they try to keep the sand of the beach clean.

Phratamnak Beach

Geographically, the beach is a continuation (and end) of the beach, which, in turn, continues. That is, physically it is one big line, without any pronounced breaks. The 5th alley of Pratamnak, near the Centara Grand Phratamnak Resort, leads to the beach. In total, the beach is about 500 meters long, immediately opposite the 5th alley it is a large wide area without natural shade, with well-groomed sand and sun loungers under umbrellas. If you go to the right, soon there will be a cape with a scattering of large stones in the sea and a gazebo, a not very well-groomed part of the beach. Strong waves are frequent here. If you go left from the entrance to the beach, there is a shady alley with a clean path and carefully swept sand and rows of sun loungers directly on the beach. Pleasant and quite quiet place, well-groomed. The sand is yellow, not fine. Entry into the water depends on the height of the water. There are waves and wind. Overall a good place for Pattaya.

Dongtan Beach

The most famous and longest beach in Pattaya. Not very clean, but still quite crowded. Along the entire beach there is a busy road, along which numerous regular tuk-tuks and taxis drive one after another. A large selection of cafes, markets, shops, convenience stores and stores, including several 7-Eleven. Housing for every taste and budget, from expensive hotels and condominiums to simple guesthouses and bungalows in the back streets. During the season, the water here is azure and transparent, almost like on the islands; the depth begins immediately at the shore. There are waves out of season, strong wind, the low tide makes the entire coastal part very shallow and inconvenient for swimming, it washes up on the shore sea urchins and shells. There is a small park with a playground near the beach and several large hotels in the area.

Jomtien Beach stretches along the sea coast for six kilometers. And the further you go to south direction, the more quiet and peaceful you will find a place. Fortunately, you can ride along the coast on a Thai open minibus (songthaew) - for only ten baht.

Dongtan is a great place to swim and sunbathe. This beach, along with Jomtien, is considered one of the best places to relax in South Pattaya. Dongtan Beach offers a pleasant, secluded atmosphere. Picturesque fan palms grow around, in the shade of which you can relax from the scorching sun. Finding Dongtan is very easy: it is located next to the Pattaya Park amusement park. On the territory of this park there is high tower, which serves as the main guide.

North Pattaya is noticeably different from both the central and southern regions. There is no highway along the coast here. Instead, comfortable prestigious hotels have been built around it, which fit perfectly into natural landscape and do not create the impression of chaotic buildings, which can often be found in Thailand. The northern beaches of Wongamat and Naklua are always quiet, calm and clean, and sun loungers are provided free of charge. In addition, these are perhaps the only beaches in Pattaya where you can snorkel and see beautiful tropical fish.

If you are looking for a place to swim in Pattaya, then special attention should be paid to the Pratumnak area. This area is a huge evergreen hill, built up with cozy hotels and condominiums. There is often confusion about which beach you can swim on in Pratumnak. Pattaya beaches: how we chose the best

We rated the best beaches in Pattaya based on three indicators. Based on this assessment, we compiled our own rating of Pattaya beaches. These are the indicators:

1) The cleanliness of the water on the beaches of Pattaya. It is important to understand that the purest turquoise water, like on Koh Lan or Similan, is simply not available on the city beaches of Pattaya. As a rule, the sea in Pattaya is muddy and muddy - at least within the city limits. Therefore, when rating the beaches of Pattaya based on the degree of water purity, I did not rate any beach higher than “four” (with a huge stretch). And if the score is even lower, it means that there is often a lot of garbage floating in the water on this Pattaya beach.

2) Landscape. Coming to different Pattaya beaches, you will not see the same landscape anywhere. On some Pattaya beaches your eyes will be delighted by picturesque hills, on others - palm trees, on a third - a panoramic view of the island of Koh Larn, on others... In general, there are no beaches in Pattaya where there is nothing to see!

However, Cozy Beach received a “C” for water purity, which is a stretch: from time to time, currents throw a lot of garbage into the coastal waters. To get cheap food from 7 eleven and Family Mart, you have to climb the steep stairs up the hill. By the way, it was near Cozy Beach that my brother and his wife lived when they came to Pattaya and we came with them.
