Superior Room in Main Building

Guest rating 5.2

Beautiful area, disgusting roomsWe lived in the main building. The room was on the third floor and it was terrible - very dirty, with a sagging bed. It was not possible to achieve normal cleaning, but we managed to change the room the next day. We moved to the first floor. Slightly less dirty (but still dirty), broken air conditioner. I was very glad that we only stayed in this hotel for a few nights. What about those who buy tours there for 12 nights or more?! The hotel has excellent territory, good location right opposite the night market. But the numbers are kind of creepy!

Bungalow Standard

Great 10.0

Not bad at allWe stayed at the hotel from 08/17/2016 for 4 days, very cozy area, a lot of greenery, the room is cleaned every day, the breakfast is modest and monotonous, those who travel for a long time will be bored by eating))) There are a lot of Russians, they sell tours there, from the sea and all the shops are close!

Bungalow Standard

Excellent 8.7

The room is good, beautiful areaThe hotel corresponds to the price-quality ratio, they provide a discount on the spot, bargaining is possible)). The girls at the reception often try to cheat you out of money, so be careful. The staff is mostly polite, with the exception of a few people. General impression good. We will return to this hotel again!

Bungalow Standard

Very good 7.6

Hotel for a couple of nightsWe ourselves lived in Laguna, and friends stayed here, decided to stay with them for two nights and took a standard bungalow, the room is small, terrible air conditioning, the cleaning is mediocre, the floors are dirty, there is a thick layer of dirt near the sink, the area is good, several pools, a beach towel costs 20 baht, internet costs 50 baht per day. The girls at the reception are not very friendly, they don't smile. You can stay for a couple of nights, but no more.

Deluxe, pool

Guest rating 4.4

Not the best optionAdvantages: beautiful green area, that's probably all. Having returned from Samui, we had 1.5 days before the plane, and decided to choose a center for shopping. We traveled with small children. The main thing was: a nice green area, a swimming pool. Chose based on reviews this hotel. In fact: 3-centimeter cockroaches in the room, the pool is open from 9 to 18.00!!! Breakfast is very poor. At breakfast they forced me to pay an additional 150 baht for a third child, although everything was indicated when booking, they immediately charged for an extra bed, and nothing was indicated about breakfast. But there might not have been any extra money on the last day of vacation =((I didn’t swear so as not to spoil my mood. By the way, none of the children ate these breakfasts, except for toast and some kind of juice. They hung a do not disturb sign on the door , at the same time, the cleaning lady opened the door 3 times and tried to get into us. We also did not find places for shopping in the area. We will not return to this hotel. Great option.
It confuses me a little when people fly to Thailand, to budget hotels, but demand service and quality as if in the UAE, a luxury five. Aw! This is Asia, these are Thais - and in order not to ruin your vacation, you need to take this into account. Or choose a hotel in a completely different price category. Although...guides working at the Hilton in Phuket say that the Thais there are completely relaxed. This is their mentality.

Now in order:
arrived at the hotel at 7 am, check-in begins exactly at 14:00 (you just need to be prepared for this, so, again, not to spoil your mood) - no persuasion, quarrels or methods of influence (except, perhaps, monetary ones, but we do not checked) do not work.
We changed into swimsuits, lubricated ourselves, left our suitcases at the reception and went for a walk to the sea, Bangla Road, through the opening exchange offices and cafes with shakes - back to the hotel.
at 12 we returned to the pool and waited for check-in there (many, by the way, waited at the reception the whole time))).

At 14:00 we received the key and went to check in (we had a standard bungalow, although it was probably worth taking the deluxe ones by the pool, they were simply gorgeous, huge rooms):
The room has a large bed, a mirror, a TV (there seem to be a couple of Russian channels), a refrigerator, a wardrobe with hangers, 2 bottles of water (2 were added every day, even if the previous ones were not drunk), soap in the toilet (no disposable accessories, shampoos) , gels), conditioner.
The room is normal, moderately dusty, with a few ants - the most standard for Ty.
Considering that we were in the room only twice during the day (shower after the sea before dinner and a night's sleep), we were generally very happy with everything.
they clean every day, the floors are wiped down (central aisles)), towels are changed, the bed is made (I didn’t keep track of how many times they changed, but at home I change them at most once a week, not every day, so it’s not a problem).

TERRITORY: this is what makes this hotel worth choosing! She's huge! 8 swimming pools! You can swim in any one (despite the fact that 7 of them are near the deluxe bungalow, no one kicks you out), you can swim at any time of the day.
In general, considering that almost all hotels occupy half of a 6-story building with balconies opening onto balconies opposite, a tiny pool on the roof, Natural has a huge territory! Each bungalow has a porch with a table, chairs, paths, vegetation - beauty!
Accordingly, there are living creatures: mosquitoes, snails, cats, dogs, toads (small), lizards, ants - these are the ones we “met”. All of them live outside the room, except for the ants, but they only ran around the sink a couple of times.
Again, this is Thailand, the jungle, the heat - you can’t do without living creatures here.
We bought mosquito spray at the 7/11 across from the hotel (clear spray with a pink sticker on the bottle). We took a large one (100-150 ml), but we could have gotten by with a small one, probably because a couple of sprays are enough for the whole evening, and we didn’t use more than half of it. There are no mosquitoes in the room! Unless you keep the door open, of course.

Breakfasts. The choice is the same every morning, BUT! it is quite diverse! During my last stay in Phuket, breakfast was only boiled eggs and watermelon)
Here: omelette, regular fried egg, fried egg with spicy vegetables, Thai noodles, rice with egg, ham, sausages (quite passable, by the way), 2 types of broth (haven’t tried), fresh vegetables (cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, cabbage), boiled corn , pineapples, watermelons, any sauces, toast, jams, tea, coffee, juices.
I, however, found everything very tasty and didn’t get tired of it. And my man too.

Cool hotel, really. We have something to compare with. Yes, the service is weak, but this is a national trait, let’s say)

Excursions. We took it from a guide because the street people couldn’t clearly tell us the excursions and living conditions for a two-day stay. Well, here (at the hotel) there is only Anex, as far as I understand.
We took Cheo Lan (2 days), Exotic Islands and XXX shows.
Cheo Lan is wonderful! He's simply amazing! We took houses on the water (deluxe tour), because spending the night in the jungle is not clear to me, because spending the night on this gorgeous lake, swimming in it is just space!!! The houses in this option are luxurious, the amenities in the room, and our group was only 10 people.
Exotic islands. Well, an ordinary sea excursion around the islands) I was on Phi Phi - well, in principle, all such excursions are similar))) There are fewer people (Chinese) on these islands than on Phi Phi, Bond, etc.
XXX Show - it’s not worth going there at all. Sad faces, loose bodies, a broken-down stage, a torn mattress, homosexual sex (this really upset all the men in the audience). Maybe you should go to a trance show, it gets a lot of praise, but we haven’t been, I can’t say. Here - definitely not.

Bikes are a must! We traveled all over the island. Moreover, it is better to order through Russian groups in VK, they are cheaper and with delivery to the hotel. An international license with category A is required. The fine for driving without a license is 500 baht.

Markets. opposite the Dragon Hotel - there is the most delicious Pad Thai from the woman standing opposite the first seafood, if you walk from the hotel. Fruits were taken at the entrance (immediately opposite the hotel).
if you go right through the Dragon, opposite it is a profitable exchange office (red) and the Malin market (it’s more expensive there than on the Dragon, but at the end of the food market, in front of the fish spa, the guy has the most delicious fruit shakes.
We took fruit home from the market near Jangceylon (cheaper and better): you need to go along 3rd street, the market is a little before reaching Jangceylon, on the right hand.
There is a Makro food store 15 minutes walk, 3 minutes by bike, like our Metro. There we took home sauces for Pad Thai and TomYam (download maps.me - the application works without the Internet, like a navigator).
Rawai market - fresh seafood (there are many reviews about it on TripAdvisor, everything is described there in detail (where to buy and where to eat)).

Beaches.
Patong - walk 10 minutes to the beach and 5 minutes to the right. Well, sort of... we were just walking there) dirty sea, a lot of Chinese.
Tri Trang - 4 km from the hotel - clean small beach, no waves! It's hard to walk (passes), on a bike - 5 minutes. After lunch the tide begins to ebb, by 3 o'clock the water is knee-deep at best. From morning to lunch - perfect!
Paradise - 7 min by bike, paid entrance(200 baht per person), cool beach.
Freedom - 7 minutes by bike, difficult descent on foot, free beach in low season. Very beautiful! There are waves, but you can go in and swim.
Karon, Kata, Surin, Kamala, etc. - the sea is so stormy that you cannot go into the water.

Food.
Everyone here praises Doody. So here it is. The most tasteless food. empty Tom Yum, indistinct Pad Thai, the rest of the dishes are also very so-so. The only thing that tastes good is Tom Kha. All. But it's cheap. Any dish - 80 baht. But in other places for 100 baht and the portions are 2 times larger, and the food is a pleasure.
The most decent Tom Yum is within walking distance - in the Orange cafe.
The most delicious Tom Yum that we tried (and we ate it every day in different places) - at the food court in Jangceylon. There are also instant wheat noodles (I’m personally a fan of this) and Pad Thai (I already wrote about the woman at the market, hers is also simply bombishly delicious!)
Kolobok has not opened once in the 2 weeks since May 6, so perhaps they are on vacation.
We ate pizza in Patong (some famous cafe there (I don’t remember the name), pizza with sausage on the side), located approximately in the middle of the beach, but I wasn’t into it. Unnecessarily expensive. But, for a change, why not)
My man is a brand chef in a popular bar in our city, so we are experienced in food, but he ran to the woman with Pad Thai at the market like a child to the Christmas tree))

Phew, looks like that's it...
A! Don't take bikes from the hotel. broken-down, expensive, only accepted with a tank so full of gasoline that the gasoline itself is visible (the divisions on the dashboard do not interest him).
By the way, the cheapest gasoline is on the way to Makro food (25 baht/liter), and everywhere else it’s 40.
In the off season, Patong is an ideal option! party nearby beautiful beaches without waves everything is nearby!
There is nothing to do on Patong itself (the beach), of course.

The Natural Resort 3* is located in the southern part of Patong and 40 km from the airport (about 45 minutes drive). The second line from the sea takes 10–13 minutes. The large Jungceylon shopping center is about a 13-minute leisurely walk; nightlife, Bangla Road is about 2 km or 20 minutes walk, and the market with shops is about a minute.

This is great a budget option accommodation for picky tourists who want to spend maximum time in the city. It has a number of features that you should know about before purchasing a tour. So, in more detail.

The area is small, well-groomed, clean and green. The two pools are only open until 6pm. Cleaned regularly.

When checking in, they require 1000 baht as a deposit, and they only take it in cash and only in baht. Change your currency at the airport in advance if you arrive late at night - exchange offices do not work at night.

Off topic. You can find out what prices are now for tours to Thailand, find the best one and not go wrong with the price on the website. You can also arrange an installment plan there, as well as pay by credit card

The Natural Resort 3* is a series of one-story bungalows at ground level + two three-story buildings with rooms Superior category Building:

  • Standard Bungalow - very old, furniture in poor condition, dirty.
  • Deluxe Bungalow - a little better than the previous ones.
  • Superior Buildings are located in 3-story buildings with an elevator. Territory - 28 sq.m., can accommodate two adults and a child. The furniture is not as shabby as in a standard bungalow, there is a lot of light, there is a balcony overlooking palm trees.
  • Deluxe Bungalow Pool Access - the newest and most modern bungalow rooms. The construction of these buildings was completed only a month ago. On this moment Furniture installation and interior finishing work are underway. The area is large - 26 sq.m., can accommodate 3 people. There is direct access to the pool. The planned completion date of all work is October 2017.

From top to bottom: Standard Bungalow - Deluxe Bungalow - Superior Building

Each room has: air conditioning, TV with a Russian channel, a table (only in the Superior Building), a minibar or refrigerator (replenished daily with two bottles of free fresh water), a tea/coffee set and a hairdryer only in Deluxe categories. The only bath amenities in the shower are soap.

The staff is polite, even without a tip they are ready to help. The maids clean well only in superior category rooms - bed linen is changed daily. “Standards” avoided this fate.

There are no safes in the rooms; renting a safe at the reception will cost 80 baht for the entire stay.

There are no services for small guests. For children there is only a playground and two sections in the adult pool.

Wi-Fi in the lobby is free. Wi-Fi in the rooms can be purchased: 50 baht - 1 day, 200 baht - 5 days, 250 baht - 7 days, 300 baht - 10 days, 400 baht - 14 days.

Breakfast is good and tasty. Eggs with sausage or ham, rice or pasta for starters, porridge, muesli, jams, lots of vegetables, fruits such as watermelon and pineapple. Drinks: coffee, tea, diluted juice. The Natural Resort 3* - budget three! For such a price, this is a luxurious breakfast! If you don’t try to eat everything at once, it won’t even seem monotonous.

At the Malin Plaza market

A stone's throw away there is an inexpensive tourist market where they will prepare a lot of tasty and interesting things for you. There is no need to be afraid to eat outside the hotel! In my experience, only one tourist was poisoned, and only because he ate his beer with fruit.

Approximate prices at Malin Plaza market in baht:

  • kebab (choice of chicken, pork, beef) – 3 pieces cost 100 baht;
  • grilled fish – from 100 to 200 baht depending on size and type;
  • grilled squid – 50 baht;
  • Pad Tai (noodles with chicken or seafood and sauce) – 100 baht.

Not the best: the water is muddy, there are a lot of Chinese people. There is a free bus service from the hotel. For some reason it only travels in one direction: at 09:00, 10:00 and 11:00. It's a bit far to walk. Beach towels can be rented for 20 baht.

I recommend going to Karon and Kata. A taxi to will cost about 700 baht round trip, to a few less. To order a taxi and know the cost of the trip in advance, I recommend using the Grab Taxi app.

From Patong, tourists also like to go to Freedom Beach. Entrance to it is paid - 200 baht per person. You can get there in two ways:

  • By tuk-tuk for 200 baht. It only gets to the entrance to the beach, you pay for the entrance, and then there is a steep and sometimes dangerous descent for about 20 minutes. On the way back, the tuks arrive at the time you need, again at the entrance, and charge 300 baht in the other direction. In total, you will have to pay 900 baht for this method. The disadvantages are obvious - expensive, dangerous descent.
  • On the far left side of Patong stands great amount boats. We came up and agreed - you will be easily driven straight to the beach. It is most economical to travel in a group of 10 people, so gather at the hotel the tourists who are ready to travel with you. So the round trip fare will be 250 baht per person. Since you will be unloaded directly onto the beach, bypassing the checkpoint, you don’t have to pay for entry.

By the way, the condition of the beaches on the island greatly depends on the time of year. This is especially true for the summer season.

The Natural Resort 3* is a popular inexpensive hotel in the economy segment.

Pros: delicious breakfasts, location next to popular places Patong, green area, large rooms and two clean swimming pools.

Cons: Patong beach is not the cleanest, there is no children's service and a third of the rooms are not of the best quality.

Suitable for: anyone who comes to the hotel only to spend the night, especially those planning to rent a motorbike to get around the island.

Well, that seems to be all I will be glad if you rate this article:

Full review Sugar Marina Art Karon Beach 3* + tourist reviews, tips

: We remember staying in this hotel like a bad dream. We rested in the "bungalow" from 06/18/16 to 07/02/16. At first glance, the hotel made a pleasant impression: landscaped area, spacious, comfortable room. BUT the first impression turned out to be FALSE. It turned out that this three star hotel You are given only ONE towel per person and something vaguely resembling soap. There are no face and foot towels, no shampoos and shower gels (although all these accessories are available even at the cheaper Issara Resort hotel). Wi-Fi is connected to the room only for a separate fee (14 days - 750 baht, that is, 1500 rubles PER PERSON, not per room, you can only access the Internet from the lobby. The pool was closed during our stay, you could only swim in the small pool near the deluxe rooms. The opening hours of the pool are also very strange: from 9 am to 6 pm (that is, it is open when you can go swimming in the sea, but in the evening, when it is already dark and swimming in the sea is dangerous, the pool is also open). for some reason it closes). But we decided that all these were little things that were not worth our long-awaited vacation and did not focus on this. The real nightmare began later. One day we came from the sea to our room and saw a note: “Come to the reception.” ". There, a kindly smiling Thai man with a haircut like a hedgehog asked us to pay for a broken ashtray. We were simply stunned by such impudence: we did not break the ashtray and did not even use it - (we do not smoke, only at night we once left a mosquito coil in the ashtray) Moreover, the broken ashtray was clean (although we left it with stains from those anti-mask smoking coils). The question arises - what is the point of a cleaning lady washing an already broken ashtray? It turns out that she washed it and then broke it. It was useless to argue with the Thais - I had to pay. gave 100 rubles. Our hotel guide from "Anextur" he simply said: "forget it and don't spoil your vacation." But the holiday was overshadowed, every time we left the room, we took pictures of glasses, ashtray, etc. In short, we lived in constant fear that the cleaning lady would break something again. but they will force us to pay. They really forced us to pay again, but not for items broken by someone, but for towels... On the day of departure, a Thai hotel employee came to our room and began to inspect everything like a sniffer dog, turned over all the blankets, pillows, and Having found no damaged things, he stated that our towels and sheets were dirty. (Excuse me, but what else should there be one single towel, intended for the body, and for the face, and for the legs?!) We freaked out and started washing the towel and showed him that everything was washed normally and there were actually no problems. But it was useless to argue, they didn’t give us our passports, which they took as deposit for the room - we had to give 3,000 rubles. What struck me most in this situation was the reaction of the guide from ANEXTUR Oksana, who was taking the tourists to the airport. We were about 10 minutes away from leaving, but they didn’t give us our passports - Oksana didn’t interfere AT ALL - she said, “Here they always take money for dirty towels - pay”, to my objection that we no longer have money, she said: “Call your relatives, let them They send it by card" (it’s five in the morning, leaving for the airport in 10 minutes - WHAT THE FUCK ARE RELATIVES?!). We had to borrow money from our bungalow neighbors. I stood and cried, my husband was nervous, we didn’t even have time to have breakfast. Overall horror and shame. The most shameful thing is that the hotel staff took our towels and sheets to the reception and shook them there in front of all the tourists. I have never felt so humiliated before. We’ll never go anywhere with Anex again, what’s the point of a tour operator whose employees didn’t care about tourists?! THE HOTEL TURNED OUT TO BE A Pure HELL!!! It seems like they want to make money from tourists this way.
