What to visit in the new world of Crimea. Resort village Novy Svet (Crimea) and its attractions. Blue Bay - Royal Beach

Cosy New World is a small valley lost among the mountains, washed by three multi-colored bays. There is only one road leading here, seven kilometers of beautiful views and a very steep mountain serpentine. The small village is considered an elite resort, with corresponding prices, but here you can relax like a king.

Royal history of the New World

The New World owes its present to Prince Lev Golitsin, who was exiled to these lands. Inspired by the example of European winemakers, the prince considered the miniature valley, sandwiched on three sides by mountains and washed by the sea, a real paradise for growing a vineyard. He named his estate Paradise.

The enterprising prince planted vineyards on fertile soil, founded a champagne wine factory and ordered a bottle storage facility to be built in Mount Koba-Kaya, a wine library to be built in the grotto, and a path along the sea to be built for walks. He erected an estate in the center of the future village.

The area was very beautiful, the land was fertile, but there was one problem in Paradise - the lack of water. The prince tried to solve this issue by installing a water supply from the source of St. Anastasia, located on Mount Sokol. The remains of the ancient aqueduct can still be seen today, but this project was unsuccessful.

Glory to the new fashionable resort, about evening concerts in a grotto with wine tastings, spread throughout the country. Nobles came to visit Golitsyn; Chaliapin himself once sang in the grotto, later named in his honor. But the most famous guest was the autocrat Nicholas II. The tsar toured the estates of the disgraced prince-winemaker, tasted the products, swam in a distant bay and was very pleased. The village was renamed New World in honor of the visit of the august person.

Sights of the New World

The miniature village is simply overflowing with places attractive to tourists.

The New World is, first of all, sea and mountains. There is not much entertainment here, the main advantage is the beauty of nature, clean air, bright colors.

The main attraction of the New World is the oldest sparkling wine factory in Russia, “Novyi Svet”, founded by Prince Golitsyn. Walking along it, you will see such beauty that no photograph can convey.

The Golitsyn Trail starts from Green Bay, passes by the Golitsyn Grotto, Blue Bay, and Cape Kapchik. The color of the water here is amazing - green, blue. Next there will be a juniper grove with “delicious” air. The trail runs in a circular route; you get off at the champagne winery.

Eating in the New World is not a problem. There is a small market where you can buy “homemade” products - fruits, cheeses, pastries, etc. At the pier you can buy freshly caught fish. A car from the state farm arrives every morning - they sell seasonal produce, cheaper than at the market.

The home-cooking cafe “Stella” is located in the center of the village. Portions are large and prices are affordable.

Dinner in one of the resort cafes will cost from 600 rubles.

The most worthy restaurant in the New World is Equator. Among the expensive restaurants, I can recommend “Wine&Fish” at the Vintage wine hotel. The restaurant is expensive, but the view is excellent, the service is European and the food is delicious.

At the beginning of the street. Chaliapin has a market where you can buy food.

At this local landmark there is the Nastasinsky spring, the water of which was also used in ancient times. Near the reservoir you can find the remains of an ancient road connecting two Byzantine monasteries, the ruins of which can still be discerned by an experienced archaeologist. The road is reinforced with hand-made retaining walls. Along it you can see pipes - this is a water supply system that delivered water for watering the vineyards in the 19th century.

Mount Eagle, located on the territory of the New World, bordering Blue Bay on the one hand, in its depths it hides many kilometers of adits. This mountain belongs to a protected area and entry to it is prohibited. Local winemaker Prince Golitsyn equipped the entrance to it, installed doors, arranged stairs for convenient descent to the water.

The entrance to the cave is blocked by a forged lattice. Visitors can only view the grotto from the outside because it is life-threatening for people inside. The long passage is inhabited by a huge colony of bats, and collapses occur in the cave. Speleologists claim that inside this amazing cape there are seven more caves and a salt lake.

Blue Bay has a second name. It is called Tsarskaya because the last Russian Tsar rested in this place. It is closed for swimming because the edge of the shore is very narrow and there is always a danger of a collapse.

The sights of the New World do not end there. These include the ancient ruins of a fortress and a monastery. Their remains have been almost erased from the face of the earth by time, but upon closer examination one can see the approximate location of the buildings.

What can you see in the New World without problems? (cheap and close)

1. New World embankment

If you are already vacationing in the New World, then you have definitely already visited the embankment. But if you are just choosing a place for your future vacation, we hasten to please you. The embankment here is surprisingly good. It is shady, there are many comfortable benches, and there are nice (and quite cheap by local standards) restaurants or souvenir shops on every corner. But the most pleasant thing is the fact that the embankment is very green, there are many beautiful exotic plants and flower beds. We have already written in more detail about this before.

2. Chaliapin Grotto (Getting there: 20 minutes on foot. Price: about 100 rubles)

- one of the largest attractions. We dedicated it to him, and here we will only briefly repeat the most important. The grotto itself is very beautiful. At one time, not only was Prince Golitsyn’s wine cellar located here, but opera concerts were also held. Even Emperor Nicholas II rested in the grotto.

To get to the grotto you will have to walk a little along. There is an entrance fee to the trail, but it is inexpensive. It is unlikely that you will be satisfied with just visiting the grotto, so expect a 3-4 hour walk with fantastic scenery around.

Although the grotto is quite large, from above it appears tiny against the background of the surrounding rocks.

Our African friends are no strangers to making money. Photos with them, of course, are paid.

This is what Count Golitsyn's wine cellar looks like. Once upon a time it was filled with the best wines of Crimea and the world.

This is what Chaliapin's grotto looks like if you climb the path a little further.

3. Source of St. Anastasia (Getting there: an hour on foot. Price: free)

Please note: despite the fact that paid excursions to the source are organized, we strongly recommend that you go on a trip on your own. This will make it much more interesting.

Enough detailed map paths to the source of St. Anastasia. The journey takes about an hour and a half one way.

On the way to the spring you come across a lot of beautiful landscapes, as if taken from oriental fairy tales.

4. Territories of boarding houses (free)

Almost everything in the New World is very beautiful. They carefully look after their territory and try, whenever possible, to decorate it with unusual buildings or exotic plants. It would be a sin not to take advantage of such an opportunity and not look at such beauty. Moreover, access to most boarding houses is completely free. Here, for example, . It's a pity that we decided to blog late. We have a huge number of fantastic photos, but in them we are in swimsuits...

This is what the houses look like, in one of which we spent a whole week

At almost every step there are beautiful green flower beds and a wide variety of southern plants.

The whole village is very green and beautiful. It is pleasing to the eye.

Sights that require effort to see (cheap, but long to get to)

5. Mount Sokol (Getting there: 3-4 hours on foot. Price: free)

To get to the top, we recommend going past. The tour is free, but be careful. You will have to walk for quite a long time: from 3 to 5 hours, depending on the length of the photo pauses. - the largest city closest to the New World. Here you can see the Genoese fortress and local architecture. If you prefer a different style of relaxation, the local water park and sandy beaches are at your service. We wrote about Sudak, and therefore we will not repeat it here.

Despite the fact that there are almost 100 caves in Crimea, the most famous is Marble. Please note that the caves are very cold. Take it with you warm clothes.

Tsar's Bay or simply Tsar's Beach is today one of the favorite places in the New World. This is one of the most beautiful places in the mountainous Sudak. Blue Bay received this name because back in 1912 it was on this seashore The Russian emperor was resting.

Novy Svet is an ideal place for a holiday, both with family and alone. If during your vacation you prefer to admire nature rather than go out at night in clubs, then 2 weeks of relaxation in this bay will be ideal for you. However, it is worth taking care of your vacation spot in advance. This is due to the fact that the village is small, but there are quite a lot of tourists wanting to relax.

In Crimea there are many corners that amaze with the beauty of nature and monuments of culture and history. The Golitsyn trail in the New World occupies a place of honor among them. The path running in the rocks themselves bears the name of Prince Golitsyn, by whose decree....

The history of the New World house-museum in Sudak is approaching a century and a half. The museum itself was founded in the year of the centenary of the Golitsyn plant and is located on the prince’s huge secular estate, not far from the village of Novy Svet, which gave its name to the plant itself and, subsequently, to the museum. The house has survived to this day in its unchanged form, only being slightly adapted for museum display.

Not far from the city of Sudak, between the villages of Novy Svet and Seseloye, there is amazing building- Taurus staircase. By the most conservative standards, it is about three thousand years old. Taurians are ancient tribes that inhabited the Crimean gorges, cruel robbers who built entire cave cities with its own infrastructure, including one that has survived to this day...

Rumor has it that at the bottom of the sea lie untold riches hidden by pirates in the 12th century. Smugglers and adventurers were hiding from justice in this bay. Here the robbers waited for their victims - trade caravans traveling by sea. The terrain made it possible to keep traders in the dark about the pirate plans until the last moment...

Emperor Nicholas II, at the invitation of Prince Golitsyn, rested in the Crimean Blue Bay. Subsequently, the coast of the bay became known as Tsarskoe Beach. The coast is unique and picturesque; it has been a botanical reserve since the early 70s. You can see relict pine trees, tree-like juniper and other types of unusual vegetation of the Mediterranean. Staying here is extremely beneficial thanks to the healing air, saturated with the aroma of resin.

The nudist beach is located in the New World bay, Northern part resort village. You need to walk along the shore of the New World Bay or go down the road through difficult, rugged mountainous terrain. The landmark is the northern part of the bay. A small wild beach, in a cozy bay protected from the waves. The covering is pebbles and boulders.

The Paradise estate (now Novy Svet) was purchased by Prince Golitsyn in 1878 from Prince Kherkheulidzev. The New World received its name after Tsar Nicholas II visited the estate in 1912. In this village, in the vicinity of Sudak, the Palace of Prince Golitsyn is majestically located.

On the Crimean peninsula you can find hundreds of places where you can learn the secrets of nature and admire the landscapes. To the south east coast Mount Khoba-Kaya is located near the seashore. This place attracted researchers, speleologists and simply lovers of untouched nature.

Coast Crimean peninsula indented by numerous capes and bays. Many of them have bizarre shapes and resemble various animals, reptiles, birds, insects and other fauna. On the eastern coast of Crimea lives an ancient fossilized lizard that drinks water from the waters of the Black Sea. Cape Kapchik has this shape.

For a concert to take place here, a lot of time had passed since its opening by Prince Golitsyn, who loved to walk around the surrounding places and discover something new. Sights of the New World and surrounding areas 2019

There are two places that you can’t help but visit when visiting the New World, because these are its calling cards.

  • The Golitsyn trail is located on the slope of Mount Koba-Kaya, cut down by Turkish workers at the beginning of the 20th century specifically for the arrival of Emperor Nicholas II in Crimea. This road, about 3 km long, starts from the shore of the Green Lagoon at the foot of Mount Eagle, then runs over the Blue Bay, or as it is also called Razboinichya, in which, according to legend, pirates hid, and ends at Cape Kapchik, where it turns into the Juniper Grove. Along the route along the Golitsyn trail there are several observation platforms, which offers stunning views of the bays and the village itself.
  • Golitsyn's Grotto, also known as Chaliapin's Grotto, is a very mysterious, atmospheric place. Not so long ago, inscriptions from the Middle Ages were visible on its walls, but in the 20th century, Prince Golitsyn equipped this small cave for storing wine. Having passed through the semicircular arch at the far wall, you can find yourself in a tunnel that led straight to the cellars of the champagne wine factory. The grotto received its other name due to the arrival of the famous singer Fyodor Chaliapin to the New World. Knowing the excellent acoustics of the grotto, the owner asked Chaliapin to give a small concert in the grotto, and when the maestro began to sing, the sound of his voice cracked the glass. Even today, concerts are sometimes held in the grotto.
  • Probably the largest number of photographs of the New World were taken in a juniper grove, and it is not surprising, because here every tree is a masterpiece! A relict juniper grove located in a botanical reserve is the pride of the village. The magnificent aroma of these trees, mixed with the sea breeze, is very beneficial for health, it gives healing effect, helping people suffering from bronchitis and lung diseases. And of course, juniper growing against the backdrop of a dazzlingly beautiful sea coast creates an incredible landscape for your photos!
