History of the trail

The picturesque path, which is partially carved into the rocks, appeared here in 1912. Prince Lev Golitsyn ordered its construction for the arrival of Emperor Nicholas II.

Prince Lev Sergeevich Golitsyn (1845-1915) - the founder of Russian winemaking in Crimea and the industrial production of sparkling wines in Russian Empire. Founder of the estate New World.

The emperor decided to visit the New World, and then this village was called Paradise, for a reason. The fact is that towards the end of his life Golitsyn experienced not only health problems, but also financial difficulties. In order to preserve the unique estate with vineyards and a factory, he decides to donate part of it to the emperor. History tells that it was during the arrival of the emperor that the village of Paradise changed its name to New World. After a walk along the Golitsyn path, the autocrat was invited to a delicious meal, where over a glass of wine he said that he now sees life in a new light.

In 1927, an earthquake occurred in Crimea, which damaged the trail. It was later restored and reopened to tourists.

Cost of visit

During the season, there is a cashier at the entrance to the trail who collects 100 rubles (June 2015) from vacationers. During the cold season, entry to the trail is free.

How to get there?

If you are coming, say, from Simferopol, the journey will take about two hours.

Parking

You can leave your car at free parking near the embankment of the village of Novy Svet. It can accommodate about 15 cars, so there may not be any space left during the season. To find parking and the entrance to the trail, look for the Vintage Hotel, it is large, noticeable and located right at the end of the road.

Golitsyn's Grotto
It's cool and beautiful here. The grotto is famous for its good acoustics. There are still niches for storing wine. Golitsyn's grotto amazes with its scale.

According to legend, it was in this bay that pirate ships moored during the time of the Tauri, one of the first peoples to inhabit the Crimea. Now they swim here too pirate ships who give rides to tourists.

Robber Beach
This is probably where the pirates swam and rested after sharing the loot.

Cape Kapchik

A long ledge that separates Blue Bay from Golubaya. The main attraction of the cape is the Through Grotto. Before climbing to Cape Kapchik, there is a prohibitory sign. However, there are always people there.

Through grotto
It passes through Cape Kapchik. It is closed to tourists, but not everyone is stopped by barriers such as iron bars.

Pirate ships also come here, but more often tourists come on catamarans and boats. They are interested in the rocky Cape Chicken Kaya and Tsarsky Beach.

The highlight of the village of Novy Svet is the Golitsyn trail. It was also nicknamed the Falcon Path. It is a walking path on the slope of Mount Eagle.

Block useful information:
Year of creation of the object: 1912;
Length: approximately 3 km;
Opening hours: until 18:00;
Entrance: paid, does not exceed 200 rubles;
The length of the entire route is about 6 km, the journey will take two hours or more. However, the walk passes along a protected area, where there are a lot of beautiful places. Historical facts

It is believed that the “father” of the trail was the famous Prince Golitsyn. However, few people know that it appeared long before this time. When the Crimean Tatars ruled these lands, the trail received the name – the road of infidels. Why the road of the infidels? The Tatars believed that there was a church in the mountains where Christians, that is, people not of their religion, went.

But it was Prince Golitsyn who revived and improved the trail in 1912. He did this on purpose, on the occasion of the arrival of Nicholas II and his imperial family. Therefore, the prince ordered to make the road convenient, to build stone stairs and observation platforms. And in the depths of the mountains, storage facilities were built where he hid his unique wines.

Not only the imperial foot set foot along the Falcon Path. The famous singer Fyodor Chaliapin loved to come here.

In 1927, an earthquake occurred, which greatly spoiled the diligent efforts of Prince Golitsyn. But, nevertheless, the trail has not lost its beauty and uniqueness. And for many years now, the interest of tourists in it has not waned.

Video review:

Modern landmark

Today, the Golitsyn trail is a popular tourist site, which you can visit yourself or buy a ticket for an excursion. The route includes not only the road, but also the opportunity to see all three bays of the Novy Svet village.

The path starts from the mountain with beautiful name Eagle. This is Green Bay. There is also an observation deck right here, which can be accessed by crossing a rope bridge.

Attention!
Be careful. The rope bridge is a frankly weak structure, some of the boards are rotten.
From here you have an excellent view of the village of Novy Svet. Don't forget to take a photo. The road leads to the huge Golitsyn grotto (another name is Chaliapin's grotto).
Interesting!
The grotto itself is simply gigantic. It is known that it reaches 33 meters!

Here tourists stay for a long time. After all, nearby there are storage facilities for famous wines, as well as a small well, where you can periodically see fresh, clean water.

And the “Turtle” block, under which a mysterious water tunnel is hidden, is simply a godsend for scuba diving enthusiasts.

Leaving the grotto, the trail will lead to Mount Koba-Kaya. This is a place of secrets and legends that local guides will be happy to tell you.

The journey continues. And here is the Blue Bay and its beach. Reward for a long journey, isn't it? It’s worth looking away and you see a view of Cape Kapchik. Enjoy nature, take a break and take photos.

>Interesting!
Cape Kapchik is a kind of cave city. There are many caves here, inaccessible as a rock. For lovers of extreme recreation.
The cape hides the beauty of Blue Bay. Therefore, you should definitely climb it and see the mighty mountain ranges with your own eyes.

After Cape Kapchik, the trail smoothly descends into a juniper grove, after passing which you will find yourself in the village of Novy Svet.

Where is it located and how to get there?

The Golitsyn trail is located in the west of the village of Novy Svet. Therefore, if you are traveling from Simferopol, then from the airport or bus station you will need to take a bus to Sudak. From here there are direct flights to the village.

Convenient option is a taxi. The driver will take you to your destination for about 2,300 rubles.

In the village of Novy Svet they offer sightseeing tours to the trail by boat or speedboat. But you can choose walking.

The Golitsyn Trail is not only a historical landmark, but also the breathtaking nature of the Crimean Peninsula. Many guests, having been here once, return again. And this is not surprising.

Golitsyn trail on the map of Crimea

GPS Coordinates: N 44° 49.503′, E 34° 54.961′ Latitude/Longitude

Friends, hello everyone.

Through grotto, cave "Legend" , staircase of brands and more to us "Amphibian Man" not enough! See how much our new journey has to offer?

The easiest and most popular part of the trail reaches Tsarskoe Beach and Cape Kapchik. For those who are serious, there is its continuation.

After the Royal Beach, the trail will take the traveler right up to to the Two Monks rock, which confidently hangs over the sea under Mount Karaul-Oba . There is also a rift between the rocks, which are called “The Gates of Hell” no less.

So take it easy on this damn thing.

Only the most prepared and enthusiastic people will be able to get there. They'll be able to go around a couple mountain ranges and find the most beautiful stone staircase, seen only in photographs, leading through a rocky crevice.

As a reward they will get a unique opportunity take a photo on the Golitsyn bench , a seat carved into the rock, and see a gorgeous panorama, interrupted only by the horizon and the outlines of the graceful Mount Bear.

But this is already an elective, so we won’t go that far with you today. We were not in the best sports shape, and even with children, so I will only describe the most popular part of the route.

The appearance of the trail or what’s interesting here

Part of the trail is carved into the Koba-Kaya rock, part of it runs through the hills, over ravines, climbs onto hills and winds through a juniper grove. The path is accompanied by ladders, stone steps, and wooden bridges.

Along the way there are bays, fonts, grottoes, caves and all this against the backdrop of incredibly colorful landscapes.

Nowadays, although the trail is maintained in order, it has been somewhat modified due to the earthquake, as a result of which it can now be reached either by boat or by a detour.

Route and direction

The trail has a circular route. But the exit points are located, although not at a significant distance, but still. Guides usually lead groups of tourists from Green Bay on the side of the main beach of the New World.

It is more convenient and easier to start your walk from the juniper grove, which is located in the northern part of the village. Path going around Cape Plosky , changes the scenery from vegetal greens to rocky greys.

That's where we'll go in this review.

Start of the trail

Finding a juniper grove is not difficult. From the bus station (if you stand with your back to it) we go to the right. By the way, for some reason there are no signs in this direction. On the left there will be a shady coniferous area with paved paths and cafes. A little further and deeper is the Church of St. Luke Krymsky.

We go straight all the time, passing "patch" with shops and again we go up a little to the right along the asphalt road, passing residential multi-storey buildings. A barrier will appear ahead, behind which the walking route immediately begins.

Here you will see several stalls with drinks, ice cream and souvenirs. This is the last "point" where you can stock up on water for the journey . There is also a pleasant area in the shade of trees with benches and a gazebo.

Let's breathe deeply

Soon the grove will open to you in all its glory, the road will become wider, and the amazing juniper trees will become more sculptured. There are often benches and resting places with canopies from the sun.

There are a lot of boards and signs informing about the correct route and rules of behavior in the reserve. You can also read information about local plants.

The blue sea peeks through the fragrant greenery, and now Cape Kapchik is very close, which looks so much like a diving dolphin. Again on the right hand, Karaul-Oba rises on the horizon with its battlements rushing into the sky.

By the way, if you have time, follow the marked path along the Valley of Hell and Heaven to the stairs of the Taurians on Karaul-Oba.

Here you have a choice - go to Cape Kapchik or take the trail. By the way, the trail here goes on both sides of the isthmus.

Cape Kapchik in all its glory

A narrow cape, and by nature a coral reef, with steep rocky walls and separately growing juniper trees, is simply attractive! Although it is unsafe to climb to the very top, and a sign warns about this, you can meet a lot of people who love breathtaking views there.

The cape is shrouded in paths, and in its upper part there are several shallow caves. Just the kind to hide from the scorching sun, take a little breath and admire Karaul-Oba, Tsarsky Beach and the boats, yachts, boats, kayaks, catamarans floating far below.

Cape Kapchik separates two bays - Blue (Razboinichya) and Golubaya, with its Royal Beach. About the beaches of the New World and its amazing colorful bays

By the way, this area was very popular for domestic cinema.

Hero of Mikhail Kokshenov "Sportloto-82" hid on the beach in a stone on Tsarskoye Beach, views of the landscapes for "Amphibian Man" filmed in the same Blue Bay, and Rambo of the 80s Sergei Eremenko flew an “airplane” into the water in the film "Pirates of the 20th Century" from Cape Kapchik.

Having admired enough and taken a bunch of photos, you can go down and move on.

Through grotto and inaccessible Tsarsky Beach

Returning to the beginning of the cape, you will see stone steps on the left side. This part of the trail is short but very interesting. Many people see a sign on the curb with an arrow that says “dead end” and turn back. It's worth going all the way down.

The path here is narrow, winding, with steps long worn away. A good high border makes it protected, since behind it there is a cliff, stones and the blue sea. At the end of this “dead end” is Through grotto - a huge cleft in the rock, such natural tunnel with double access to the sea.

This unique natural formation in the rock, 77 meters long and 17 meters high, served as a decoration for the path under Prince Golitsyn and at the same time as a home for homeless bats.

The grotto was tightly sealed with a grate due to some terrible accident and the through passage was abolished. They wrote that a tourist died there. Looking into the dark corridor of the grotto, we see light at the end of the tunnel, overhanging boulders on the arches, and huge boulders on the ground.

On the other side there are stone steps into the sea, but because of the slippery and sharp boulders, swimming there is problematic.

Until 1927, a path to the beach was cut down, which became unusable after the famous earthquake. The beach is still accessible to the restless, although it is classified as closed due to the possibility of landslides.

True, such superstitions are unlikely to be taken into account by lovers of crystal clear water in the luxurious Blue Bay. For more safe travels many people choose private boats.

Tsarsky Beach, named after Emperor Nicholas II, who loved to dive here.

After admiring Blue Bay and envying the vacationers on Tsarskoye Beach , which are constantly brought by boats, we go back. And to walk down to the beach you will have to use a bypass route.

Getting ready to take a refreshing dip in Robber Bay

I think everyone knows where this name came from. A truly nice place to take into account the change of day and night, lick your wounds, sharpen your swords or get a good night's sleep before the next robbery.

Marked here on the map beach wild . Heavy boulders and a complete lack of sand turn the beach into a lifeless rock formation. Although, in summer time here are lovers of brutal beauty and non-standard entries into the water.

Many people swim here and catch their breath before the next part, which is the most difficult compared to the rest of the route.

From here you can go by boat to Tsarsky Beach, New World, Sudak. August 2018 prices in the photo. The only services on the beach are cold drinks and boat trips.

Let's go to the grotto: aka Chaliapin-Estradny-Golitsyn

We leave behind Blue Bay and we climb up the loose path. We gradually gain altitude and admire the gorgeous landscapes. Bypassing a series of ascents and descents, we pass under rocky overhangs.

Somewhere in this part, far below, there is an underwater cave called “Legend”.

The famous grotto in the rock will appear ahead. A narrow staircase with railings leads to it.

On the penultimate platform, extreme entertainment awaits you - a bungee suspended from the arch of the grotto. If you want your dashing cry to be heard even in the New World - 400 rubles, and here you are hanging between the walls of the grotto.

Golitsyn's Grottoamazing place. Various events with tastings and a variety program are still held there, just like in the time of the prince.

Golitsyn stored his wines in this grotto and invited guests to balls overlooking the sea. Was Chaliapin here? But there are no reliable facts. There is simply a legend about how glasses burst during his performance.

Although, if Chaliapin liked to hang out in Gurzuf with his friend the artist Korovin (this is not my grandfather), then why not drop by Golitsyn. Moreover, there is something about him here's the story...

The grotto is very comfortable for exploring. In the center there is a well with drinking water. Shelves are carved into the back wall to store the wine collection. A little further there is an arched entrance, which apparently connected the space of the grotto with the cellars of the plant, which is a completely reasonable and pragmatic purpose for table setting. Celebrations and family dinners were mainly held here.

My daughter, having listened to information about the acoustic capabilities of the grotto, began to study them in practice.

And my wife and I shamelessly stared at an elderly citizen who was hiding from pressing problems in a niche carved into the rock and thoughtfully tasted from the throat , just purchased a wine collector's edition.

We're reaching the finish line

Having turned the bend in the rocks, we come out onto a flat, narrow path with high curbs. In the distance you can see the beach and the New World embankment.

This part of the trail is the calmest - the smell of pine needles, pine trees with huge cones, wicker fences, benches and observation platforms.

Soon an arch will appear telling us that our journey is coming to an end. And in five minutes you will go down to the embankment.

Now you can relax on the beach, swim to your heart's content, go out to eat and browse the shops with colorful goods.

Color filmoscope or how to understand the markings

In the 1960s, to designate the bays of the New World, color coding. The location of the city beach and the beginning of the Golitsyn trail is to Green Bay .

The area behind Chaliapin's grotto, where robbers and feral introverts and visitors to Dikiy beach were lodged - Blue Bay .

Well, the royal baths geographically belong to Goluboy Bay.

What else you need to know about the trail

This route is available all year round. But when it's bad weather conditions It's better not to come here. However, here at almost every step there are signs “caution, rockfall.”

The walk is free. Nobody is asking for any money.

Notice that this photo shows irrefutable proof that the earth is round! I recommend using it as evidence for incredulous children after your futile attempts to explain everything on your fingers.

If you're interested in hiking the trail with a professional or continuing your journey to more active form, That visit the Turnado website. In Crimea, this is the number 1 search engine for all kinds of entertainment and extreme sports.

Novy Svet is a picturesque village located on the Black Sea coast. Here you will find bays with water of marvelous beauty, rocks of unusual shape, relict pine trees and other trees with curved trunks. Having visited many corners of Crimea, you understand that the New World is not like any of them. The air here is amazing, filled with juniper and pine aroma. The sea is clean. It was here that many films were shot, such as “Amphibian Man”, “3+2”, “Pirates of the 20th Century”, “Sportloto-82”, “Solo Voyage”, “Treasure Island”, etc.

Today you can go on a journey to the places and paths where movie characters once walked.

Prince Golitsyn

What associations does the name “New World” evoke in you? Some people associate it with America and Columbus, who discovered it. However, for Crimeans and residents of this region, the New World is also picturesque, located near Sudak. resort village. He is associated with the personality of Lev Golitsyn, a Russian prince. Another association is wonderful champagne.

The key figure who settled the New World is Lev Sergeevich Golitsyn, also known as the founder of the Russian winemaking tradition in Crimea and the founder of the industrial production of high-quality champagne in Russia. The New World owes a lot. For example, the main part of its attractions. A worthy place among them is rightfully occupied by the Golitsyn Trail - a complex that has been preserved since the time of this prince.

Famous people who walked along the Golitsyn Trail

This complex was conceived and built at the end of the 19th century by the owner of the estate. The Golitsyn Trail (New World) is famous for the fact that many respected and high-ranking guests of Golitsyn walked along it: counts and princes Gagarins, Trubetskoys, Mordvinovs, Gorchakovs, theologians and priests, artist I. Bilibin. And in 1912, part of it, located near Cape Kapchik, was passed by Nicholas II himself, the last Russian emperor.

Construction of the Golitsyn Trail

The Golitsyn trail is a route on which you will find stairs, viewing platforms, as well as the Skvoznaya and Golitsyn grottoes created by nature. For safety, stone parapets are installed in steep areas. In such places there are observation platforms, from where it is most convenient to admire the mountain and sea views.

The Golitsyn trail in Crimea was cut down in some areas at an altitude of up to 20 m above sea level in rocky ground. It was built by Turkish workers. In the most dangerous areas, they cut this path while in “cradles” suspended on ropes. There was a case when a storm was raging at sea, and the workers above were hanging in "cradles" in a strong wind. There was no way to get them onto the boats. So they spent 2 days above the raging sea. Food and water were lowered to them on ropes from the mountain.

Golitsyn Grotto

You are probably wondering how long the Golitsyn Trail is. Its length is 5470 meters. Part of this trail stretches along the coast for 2 km. The Golitsyn Trail begins on the outskirts of the New World, near Zelenaya Bay. Then it passes at the foot of Koba-Kaya (its modern name- Eagle) and leads travelers to the Golitsyn Grotto. A cave Christian monastery was located here in the Middle Ages. The remains of frescoes that survived until the 19th century testify to this. At the end of the 19th century he set up his own wine library here. They fenced off part of the grotto with a wall. A massive door closed the entrance to this room. The height of this grotto ranges from five meters (inside) to eight (outside), and the width and length are about seven meters. The mountain got its name Koba-Kaya (pictured below) precisely because of the grotto, since it is translated as “cave rock”.

The entrance here under Prince Lev Golitsyn was blocked by a stone wall, which today is almost completely destroyed. Only a small fragment of it has survived. There is a well inside where you can drink spring water. A metal hook for a lamp is driven into the ceiling above the well. Once upon a time a huge chandelier hung on it, illuminating the grotto. However, visitors are particularly impressed by the 2 walls of the wine library, each with 45 niches. At one time, bottled wines were stored in them. These niches with an arched vault are located in 5 tiers.

Near the wine library you can find a stage with a polycircular niche and a platform. It has excellent acoustics. Its second name is well known to tourists - Chaliapin's Grotto. From this stage, according to popular legend, Fyodor Ivanovich Chaliapin, the great Russian singer, once sang, drowning out the sound of the sea waves with his powerful voice. However, according to historical information, Chaliapin never visited the New World. Nevertheless, this legend lives on and is preserved in its unofficial name. Today, “Golitsyn Meetings” are held here - special musical events with fireworks and, of course, champagne.

In the sea, under the arches of this grotto, you can see a huge block that once fell from the “ceiling”. This is the Turtle stone. A through underwater tunnel is located underneath.

Cape Plosky and Blue Bay

Further, after leaving the Golitsyn Grotto, the road rises smoothly to Cape Plosky, after which the Golitsyn Trail descends again to the Blue Bay. An excursion along it on a hot summer day is accompanied by swimming in this bay. The sea here is shallow, but the water is usually clear and clean. In the summer, you can use the services of a “sea taxi” when you are tired of walking through such a picturesque corner of nature as the Golitsyn Trail. Sudak or New World are places where you can return from here by boat. Blue Bay (pictured below) was called Robber Bay due to the fact that pirates hid their trophies in these caves. They were allowed to remain unnoticed by piles of stones. The Golitsyn trail, following the coast of this bay, goes around the town of Koba-Kaya. Many stairs with railings and bridges are located in this area, which are not difficult to walk along.

Under the southern cliffs of Mount Khoba-Kai, a world of gloomy gorges, blocky chaos and cyclopean staircases carved into the rock awaits you. You can see in the cliffs the fossilized remains of corals, which are about 150 million years old, as well as algae and sea urchins- inhabitants of the Jurassic Ocean.

Cape Kapchik and Tsarsky Beach

After this, you can make the last climb to Cape Kapchik along the rocky stairs. It is located between the Blue and Blue bays. The famous Tsarsky Beach is located on the shores of Goluboy Bay. It got its name in 1912, after Nicholas II visited here.

IN good weather from here you can see Mount Ayudag, as well as the mountains South Bank Crimea. This cape protrudes deeply into the sea and, together with other rocks on the coast, forms a prehistoric lizard or a fairy-tale dragon swimming in the sea.

Through grotto

Kapchik crosses through the Skvoznoy Grotto from Goluboy Bay to Sinyaya Bay. The length of this natural cave, which was formed here due to a tectonic fault, is about 77 meters. In the formation of Skvoznoy, unlike many other Crimean caves, underground water did not participate. Its wedge-shaped profile and deep cracks indicate that the underground gallery appeared as a result of the uneven movement of the limestones of Cape Kapchik along several faults. The same cracks can be found in the form of crevasses on the town of Karaul-Oba. Blocks of limestone, torn from the floor, lie at the bottom of the gallery. However, the fault has nothing to do with the elongated shape of this cape. This is not an elongated section of limestone pushed forward along breaks in the sea, but a reef structure that was composed of massive, durable limestone. It was used under Golitsyn as a banquet hall. The prince built here an arched entrance with a wooden door, forged in antique style, stone stairs along which you can go down to the sea, and stained glass windows. Now you can get to the grotto from the Blue Bay if you walk along a path cut into the rock, fenced with a parapet. The cave was opened several years ago, and it was possible to get inside, of course, provided that you are not afraid of bats. Currently, unfortunately, the grotto is closed to tourists after an accident occurred in it. A grate is installed, and you can only look inside through it. In addition to the Through Grotto, Kapchik also has several other smaller caves.

Juniper Grove

What else is interesting about the Golitsyn Trail? You can return from Cape Kapchik to the New World by a short road through a juniper grove. This is a living monument to ancient geological eras. The grove is a remnant of ancient vegetation that covered Europe back in the Cenozoic era. The Cenozoic era lasted 60 million years. These forests have seen cave bears, saber-toothed tigers, mammoths... The Golitsyn Trail (New World) is a place in Crimea, near which remains of animals that have been extinct for a long time are found. Mammoth bones were first discovered in the last century very close to here - near the village of Solnechnogorskoye, in the valley of the Sotera River. The advance of glaciers began in the Quaternary period. Heat-loving vegetation died everywhere and only survived in the south, since the glacier did not reach here. It is in the vicinity of the New World that the largest juniper grove in Crimea (470 hectares) is located. Several species of juniper grow here, as well as Sudak and Crimean (Pallas) pine. Sudak is found only in Crimea, on and in Sudak. It was first studied by V.N. Stankevich, a young botanist, at the beginning of the 20th century. In 1906, in honor of him, it was named by Academician Sukachev Stankevich pine.

Mount Karaul-Oba

This mountain protects juniper groves and bays of the New World from the west. Once you climb to the top, you will understand where its name came from. The entire coast, starting and ending with Mount Ayu-Dag, can be seen from here. You can admire the landscape while sitting in the “Golitsyn chair”, carved out of stone. You will see the New World amphitheater, as well as three multi-colored bays located at the foot: Green, Blue and Blue.

What else attracts tourists to the Golitsyn Trail, the photo of which is presented in this article? The square rooms, which are surrounded by straight rock walls, are located under Mount Karaul-Oba. Ahead is Adam's Bed. This is a narrow gorge that is covered with ivy. Behind the "Adam's Bed" there is a staircase in the rock. In the New World, all the stone stairs were built by Golitsyn. However, this one, most likely, was built by the Taurians, and the prince only renovated it. Here you will find yourself in gorges: cozy “Paradise” and wild “Hell”. Having descended from Karaul-Oba, you will find yourself on the “Royal Beach”. This mountain is also very interesting from a historical point of view. Above a 70-meter cliff on its western spur there are the remains of dwellings and walls of an ancient fortress, which was built by King Asander (Bosporan). Here, in addition, there is a parking lot for the Taurus.

Golitsyn Trail: how to get there?

First you need to get on the Simferopol - Sudak highway. After this, go to the village. New World. This place has the following GPS coordinates: E 34°54.708, N 44°49.788. The road here goes near the sea, going around the foot of Kush-Kai along a steep slope.

Greetings! So summer left us, quietly closed the door behind it, but left many more sun rays. So that the parting would not be so sad, my friends and I went to Paradise (Paradise). This was the former name of the resort village of Novy Svet, where a picturesque route was laid - the Golitsyn Trail. Yes, yes, exactly a picture! After all, a narrow path wandering between high rocks, at every turn, opens up an entire exhibition of natural paintings.

The Golitsyn Trail is not just a tourist attraction. This is a miniature of the entire peninsula, where there is: sea, hills, rocks, bays and relict forests. And also - 5 km of indescribable delight and active load!

I publish a review of the route at the end of September, since this month can safely be considered summer.

July and August this season were pretty exhausting with drought and heat. As soon as the heat subsided, a proposal came from a friend: “Let’s go to the New World on the Golitsyn Trail!” Go…

It is difficult to say what the 2016 season was like. The Ministry of Resorts reports an increase in tourist flow by 27%, other resources provide their own data. Judging by the beaches and traffic jams on the highways, the season has taken place. And it’s not a matter of quantity, but of quality. What is more important is what kind of rest the guests of the peninsula received and how the treasury was replenished. Based on my observations, I can say that many catering establishments have remained in decline due to high prices. More to come the Velvet season, but certain conclusions can already be drawn...

And so, New World! Among the entire palette of Crimean beauties, this resort is always at the top of the list. The only negative, for me personally, is the number of people per square meter. I was sure that in the last days of August this hive would become freer, but alas. Thanks to its location, the coast of the New World is the last to leave summer unless storms arrive ahead of schedule. A similar picture can be observed in the vicinity of Sevastopol, Yalta, Alushta and Sudak.

The cozy village of Novy Svet is located on the shores of Green Bay, protected on the northern and northwestern sides by a ridge of mountain ranges, which creates a certain microclimate. The development of the resort is inextricably linked with history - characteristic buildings of the 19th century have been preserved to this day: the buildings of the winery and the residential building of Lev Golitsyn, the founder of domestic champagne winemaking. Today this entire territory is a state botanical reserve.

They decorate the surroundings and saturate the sea air with healing aromas: Sudak pine, fluffy oak, blunt pistachio, dwarf tree, mackerel, sessile oak and abundant thickets of centuries-old juniper trees. 16 plant species of the New World are listed in the Red Book of Crimea and Russia.

Entertainment in Green Bay includes boating, other watercraft and flyboarding.

We arrived in the New World hoping for a weather forecast that promised long-awaited coolness and light rain. We don’t like walking in the mountains in the heat, but the report was not justified and by the time we arrived the sun reminded us of calendar summer...

Without wasting time, we headed to the starting position, paying 100 rubles for the route along the Golitsyn trail. This season prices for visits nature reserves Crimea was never regulated - it was introduced and then cancelled. If the territory is well-groomed and all safety measures are observed, the entrance fee is quite appropriate, but this is just my opinion.

You can get to the Golitsyn trail in two ways: 1. from the side of the juniper grove in the village of Novy Svet. There is also a parking lot there (44.825568, 34.908785), close to the most interesting excursions. 2. From the beach in the New World. There is free and paid parking in the hangar, but you will need to go down to the beach to get to the trail. It took us about 15 minutes from the parking lot in the hangar to the beginning of the trail. Coordinates (44.825089, 34.915669)

The first picture in the natural museum is a view from the Golitsyn trail to Mount Sokol.

The big temptation was transparent sea water, which I wanted to plunge into. Our swimwear remained in the car, so we had to walk further, casting a longing glance at Green Bay...

Why is the trail called Golitsynskaya? Of course you know, but I’ll remind you... The former owner of the New World, Lev Sergeevich Golitsyn, back in 1912, ordered a walking path to be cut down along the slopes of Mount Koba-Kaya. An excellent gift for descendants, thanks to which thousands of tourists polish with their feet one of the most beautiful routes Crimea.

The path goes higher and higher all the time, and the panoramic views become more and more beautiful...

Imagine with what titanic labor this road was paved.

A sharp turn behind a rocky ridge and now the picture changes.

The answer to the question “why is the bay called Green?” obvious...

A lucky chance is to be alone in Chaliapin's grotto. We were unlucky - we got stuck in a traffic jam and had to speed up the pace to overtake it.

The natural grotto has two names - “Golitsynsky” and “Chaliapin’s Grotto”. I was not a witness, but they say that Fyodor Ivanovich performed his famous arias here. A remarkable place suitable for a halt. On one side are cool niches, and on the other, huge boulders of a collapsed rock wall. Before the Yalta earthquake, the grotto looked different. In the depths of the grotto, Lev Golitsyn’s wine library... empty).

There is a rocky canopy hanging from above. Grotto - perfect place to hide from summer heat or autumn shower, relax while enjoying natural creation.

One sea, but from different angles there are such different shades.

Having cast a farewell glance at Green Bay and Sudak, we headed up the path towards Cape Kapchik and Robber Bay.

In this observation deck tourist groups they stop and, fixing their gaze on Cape Kapchik, guess in its outlines either a fish, a sleeping girl, or an “unseen animal”...

Behind the Green Bay begins the Blue Bay.

In Crimea, in the vicinity of Simeiz, there is Mount Cat, but doesn’t Karaul-Oba look like a cat?) Do you see the ears sticking out behind Cape Kapchik?

The Golitsyn trail is not fenced everywhere - watch your children!

Koba-Kaya rock -coral reef, which has another name. Can you guess which one?)

The bottom off the coast of Robber Bay was visible from above. Not everyone is suitable for such a beach with large stones entering the sea.

The dusty and narrow path went up and down. In some areas we had to be especially careful. Take these crossings with sharp rocks into account when choosing shoes for the route.

If you are tired from a long excursion, you can return back in comfort or go to another coast. It is located behind Karaul-Oba, further on Morskoe.

Behind us was part of the route traveled along the Golitsyn Trail.

We reached a fork, the Golitsyn trail went to the right to Tsarskoe Beach, and to the left to Cape Kapchik. I persuaded my friends to go up to the cape and from there look at everything at once.

The road to Cape Kapchik has a slight long climb.

Despite the fact that Tsarsky Beach is closed, at the end of August it was full of vacationers, who were transported by pleasure ships and boats.

Behind the Royal Beach, or rather above it, another path begins. She walks along the slope and through a crevice in the rock to Karaul-Oba. I have already published many reports about this route. I recommend! , .

Dasha+Masha+Sasha... we understand what you left behind here...

From this point the nearest coast of Turkey is less than 300 km.

Having descended from Cape Kapchik, we headed to the finish line - the juniper grove.

The Golitsyn Trail or Golitsyn Trail is one of those attractions of Crimea that can be visited from year to year in different seasons. The natural idyll cannot get boring; on the contrary, every time you discover something new, previously unnoticed and mysterious.

The length of the route is about 5 km, but if you are in good physical shape, curiosity can take you much further... Therefore, take care of comfortable shoes, a light snack and water, comfortable clothes (in the summer - a hat, in the off-season - a light windbreaker, in cold weather a jacket , which will save you from dampness and piercing wind).

When visiting the reserve, you must comply with all fire and environmental safety requirements; you are allowed to use only the marked route. Violation of requirements carries administrative or criminal liability.
