Let me start with the fact that the drive from the airport to the hotel takes 3 hours, taking into account check-ins at other hotels for dropping off vacationers. The first thing that unpleasantly surprised us was that the accompanying guide simply dropped off the tourists and the bus left. Maybe this is normal in Pegasus, I don’t know, because this was our first time traveling with this tour operator. And if there are any misunderstandings in hotels or force majeure, then who to look for in an unfamiliar foreign country. No one speaks Russian at the reception. It's good that we settled in right away. The room was on the first floor with access to the pools. The furnishings of the room itself are ancient. The condition of the furniture, especially the cabinets, leaves much to be desired. The bathroom is also old, but not bad at all. The toilet was not secured to the floor. None of the staff responded to this complaint.TVsmall, showed 1.5 Russian-language channels and those with all sorts of nonsense in the recordings from 2012-2015. The image quality is terrible. The room was cleaned every other day and towels were changed. According to the stars, the number itself is no more than 3. The food is excellent, of course no frills, but varied. There is a children's menu and a separate room for children's meals. Juices, sodas, beer. There was also wine, but the taste left much to be desired (maybe some people like it). You definitely won't stay hungry all day. The beach is very small pebbles and gets very hot during the day, so you can’t go very far without slippers. There are children's water slides with a pool. The sea is very clean, just like in Egypt. And the fish also swim near the shore, but there are only a few of them. Super Animation, led by the Italian Tony, keeps children and adults entertained throughout the day. Tony, a special greeting to you from Russian Barbie (this is my 4-year-old daughter). The animators are great, they really draw people into all sorts of entertainment. Of the excursions suggested by the guide, we took one so as not to travel far by bus - this is a trip to the island on pirate ship with a stop and swimming on this island. In general, I only liked sailing on this a la “pirate” ship, and the island itself is a complete scam, along with the guide himself who accompanied us. The beach of our hotel is many times better than on this island. We rented a car and drove around the entire south of the island, which was much more interesting. Overall, we enjoyed our stay except for the above points. Can be safely recommended for family vacation.

We stayed in this hotel for 9 days at the beginning of July! We are satisfied with the hotel. It takes quite a long time to get there, at least 2 hours on a comfortable bus, but then we drove half of Crete and looked at other hotels (none impressed us). We arrived at about 9 am, we were ringed (a wrist bracelet), and we went to breakfast. We checked into the room already at 10.30 Room 1510 on the corner of the main building overlooking the sea and the olive grove. The rooms are in good condition, cleaning every day except Sunday, beach towels are changed in the lobby without a deposit. The only noise is constant songs performed by cicadas, and in strong winds the sounds of a snowstorm. Those coming here to relax should take into account that this is the 2nd line and it takes about 10 minutes to walk to the sea, but also about 15 minutes to go back up the hill. There is a mini-bus that runs according to a schedule, but more often we wenton foot (after hearty lunches and dinners in the main hotel) We had no complaints about the food, every day in the main restaurant there were soups, fried fish, chicken, pork and a bunch of everything that simply did not fit on a plate. Great desserts. We played tennis every day (3 courts in good condition) We took rackets with us (they are also given out on site) There is a mini-football court, half a basketball court (we didn’t play), and a mini-golf court. But we spent most of our time at sea and hardly used the pools. The beach is small pebbles and gets very hot by lunchtime; you need slippers and flip flops. We didn’t attend spa treatments, somehow it didn’t work out. Or maybe their price tag is high for us. Excellent animation team, the children were very happy. Every day there is a mini-disco, then a small but fun show for adults and children. There is also something for adults to do, but it is difficult to play volleyball or mini-football in the heat above 30. We would like to express our gratitude to all the staff and management of the hotel for a great time. Special thanks to our hotel guide Ksenia - for excellent work.

We bought a ticket to Crete from the travel agency “Let’s go on tour” (Grodno), they didn’t let us choose a hotel, they charged the price tag for 10 stars out of five possible, but due to our inexperience we agreed to their conditions (usually we travel planning everything without outside help, at first once we contacted a travel agency and the result turned out to be extremely disappointing, alas). So, let's start: 1. Hotel location: The nearest hospital is 10 km away (this is important) There is no doctor locally - there is a first-aid post 200 meters from the hotel with a nurse on duty, an appointment costs 80 euros and essentially they can’t help you there, even with a banal headache Buses to Ierapetra go every hour and a half 2. Condition of the rooms: The impression was that the hotel was built in the early 80s and nothing has been updated since then. The furniture is tired, there is a double bedactually consists of two single beds, which constantly move apart different sides . There is not a single grounded outlet in the room! The refrigerator in the table plays the role of an alarm clock at any time of the day - it knocks at completely random intervals so loudly that even the child in the second room of the family room wakes up. Cabinets with cockroaches - I recommend checking things upon returning from this hell before bringing them home. The bathroom... first of all, the water is rusty. All the time. Secondly, the condition of the bathroom itself and the plumbing in it is no better than the condition of the furniture in the room. Mirrors are broken. When cleaning the rooms (which is at a disgusting level and only 4 times in 7 days), they use some kind of very low-quality and possibly dangerous antiseptic - I have repeatedly noticed that after cleaning the room, it is enough to touch the tap to get an almost instant allergic reaction on the whole hand. The situation with air conditioners is sad - they seem to work, but they don’t. The only mode is 24 degrees, which the hotel staff warns about; if you try to set another mode, the air conditioner breaks down. Internet in the hotel is now free, but it only works in the hotel lobby. 3. Hotel area: The pool is cleaned daily, there is a splash pool for children. You can also go to the sunshine Crete beach area - there are several more pools there. As for sun loungers and umbrellas - they are worn out, some have an unstable mechanism - they fold under people’s bodies (we observed such a picture; you can really press your arm or leg like that). 4. Food: Breakfast is monotonous. What was not eaten today is sealed with cling film and put out again the next day, this can be repeated for up to 4 days, only on the 5th day is fresh food put out. Especially noticeable in cold cuts and blackened boiled sausages. The coffee is surprisingly good. Lunches and dinners are held in the sunshine Crete beach part, they are a little more varied (10-20 percent is updated). But even here they sin with stale food - didn’t you eat the rice? No problem! Pour in oil and fry the next day, or even two. There is virtually no healthy food there, the most you can find is fresh vegetables and green apples with cinnamon. Why you shouldn’t eat at this hotel - the answer is simple: it’s very easy to get severe food poisoning or even catch a viral infection here. The products are not of high quality, the food is very often not fresh, everyone has access to food - someone sneezed/spit/put their hands in a common dish of food and you can “bury” your vacation (as happened to us and another family from our upon arrival at the hotel, whose child lay for three days with a temperature of 40 and the night before departure he ended up in a local ambulance on a drip) Perhaps I forgot to mention something. I am attaching a photo of the room and the “canteen”

Healthy

Well, it was already written before me that this is not 5 stars. Below I will attach a photo why. The lobby smells like old furniture. The cabinets in the rooms creak, and in one of them the inside smells of sweat from previous guests. In the bathroom they threw a piece of tile over the drain on the floor. The linen is not changed every day, which is not convenient - we are on vacation with a child and it often gets dirty. Shower gels do not flow out, apparently they are old. There are no cotton swabs or disks. The children's playground is sparse. Game room none for children. Fitness room - a couple of exercise machines under a canopy on the street. Some sun loungers have holes. Upon arrival, you will be given vouchers for a free 15-minute massage. My husband gave me his, so I wanted to sign up for a free massage for 30 minutes - but this is not possible, you can only use 1 per person, apparently to sell more massages. INMonday I was only booked for a massage on Friday, which is strange - I don’t see a crowd of clients at the spa. But all this is absolutely tolerable and not very significant for me, but the situation with food and TV all inclusive cannot be forgiven! Firstly, the food is monotonous and very simple. It was as if the spaghetti from lunch had been brought for dinner. The same goes for “seafood pasta” (small pasta with small shrimps, which, obviously, were previously frozen - just like at our house). The meat and fish are monotonous. Other than that, no seafood. The only thing is delicious cakes. Breakfast until 10. Late breakfast - until 11. Don't be lazy and get up early, because late breakfast is muesli with tasteless milk, slightly weathered bread with jam and chocolate butter. Tasteless coffee. Snacks end at 4. Lunch is at 2:30, and dinner starts at 7:30 - such a long pause without the possibility of a snack is sad. There are not even vending machines with baguettes or chocolates. All inclusive drinks are nothing. No fresh juices. The wine is just disgusting! It's impossible to drink. The cocktails at the bar consist of 40% vodka. An orange was added to the pina colada. The most disgusting bar, in general. Next, disco. It's just a big speaker with music in the same bar. Until 00:30. The bar, by the way, also smells of old furniture. The pool bar is not open. There is no announced nanny for the children. But ok, the air conditioning in the room is good. Nice pools for children. Nice beach with various services (diving, banana, paragliding). The sea is just super! Transparent, at a depth of 1.5 m near the shore you can see beautiful fish even without a mask. It’s a pity that the approach to the sea is a little steep - it quickly becomes deep and your feet get stuck in small pebbles - inconvenient for children. True, we were hit by a strong wind - 48 km/h, at this time it is better to plan excursions or trips to the city - there is nothing to do at the hotel in such weather. The animation is very simple. In general, for budget holiday not a bad hotel. Absolutely for modest requests and without frills. But this is not 5 stars! Although the accommodation fee is for five. I wouldn’t go here for a passive holiday with a child. Suitable for young people who have low demands.

Relatively ok, but we don't want to go back.
Overall, we are satisfied with our vacation (thanks to the gorgeous sea) and if you do not pay attention to many shortcomings that are not acceptable for a five-star hotel, where the cost of a room for two is more than 100 thousand. The first two days I still paid attention, then I just decided to switch off and relax, enjoying the sea and sun. But I don’t want to come back here for this money. The hotel positions itself as a five-star all-inclusive system. Accordingly, I have corresponding requirements for him. If any of the other guests are used to paying and not demanding, I’m sorry, I’m used to getting quality services for my money. If I want bad service, I'll pay 30-50 thousand per room. And here I paid more than 120 thousand for a trip with a flight for two. And my parents paid the same amount.
We were 3 adults and a child on vacation 07/10/17-07/20/17. The accommodation was two standard rooms 247 and 249. My parents are in room 249, my child and I are in room 247. And so in order:
1. The rooms are not five-star, maximum 4 and then with a minus. Everything is old, the furniture needs updating, repairs too. Upon arrival at the room, we realized that no one was waiting for you and didn’t even create the appearance of waiting, since the rooms were dirty, I ran a layer of dust over the furniture with my hand (I always do this), began to wipe off the dust, since we were out of bed, we had to put the child down sleep. My mother went to the reception and complained about the dust, a maid came to their room with one wet rag, walked through with this one rag and wiped off the dust, like leave me alone, they’ve wiped it off for you. Guys, this is not possible, the rooms must be cleaned before the arrival of new guests. Throughout the entire stay, the cleaning was also bad, so they will wash the middle for you, take out the trash and that’s it. One day our rooms were cleaned by a new boy - on that one day everything was cleaned as it should be: the whole bed was shaken and remade (this should be done every day), not to be confused with changing linen, you should just always shake up your sheets. I washed all the plumbing, washed the mirrors, wiped dust everywhere, vacuumed and washed the floors very well, so clean that I walked in my socks and my socks were clean. The manager came and checked on him. Dear manager, you need to check the old staff, not the new ones, the new ones always wash well and try, but the old ones relax and only wash the middle and take out the trash, that’s where their cleaning ends. The air conditioning in my parents’ room seems to be blowing, but there is no coolness in the room; in our room the air conditioning worked fine. My parents have a broken toilet seat in their room, and the door to the bathroom doesn’t close. I give the room 3.8 points out of five, because the rooms are dirty and damaged.
2. The hotel area is not tidy near the pool. This hotel doesn’t know what it means to wash the tiles by the pool with a mop and shampoo and apparently doesn’t know what they do in normal five-star hotels. The tiles are all dirty and filthy. Due to the fact that the other area is clean, but the pool is dirty, I give it a 4 minus.
3. Beach equipment (sunbeds, umbrellas, beach towels) – 3 points. Everything is old and dirty. Umbrellas for midgets, with a height of 165 cm, I bumped into these umbrellas, you always need to bend over backwards when going under the umbrella. Beach towels are not washed, just dried. Because even if the item is washed, it has been washed, it shows. You can see from the hotel beach towels that they are not washed. You hand over your towel, and tomorrow you receive someone else’s dried towel, but not washed.
4. For children. I also can’t give 5 points. Since there is practically no children's playground. Some might say she's modest, but you can say she's not. It's made from trash. Swing - a chair was taken from an old high chair and ropes were attached to it, so go for a ride, kids. Slide - we took an old water slide, made homemade wooden steps for it - go for a ride, this slide does not roll without water, children simply slide down it. Swing - scales or whatever they are called, take a board, nail two bars like a back at the edges and drive the board into a peg in the middle, sit down and ride. The flooring is all crooked, although soft, you can easily trip there. And there is a children's playground near the toilet. There is a quite decent children's pool with slides, children's animation, as everywhere else - in this area everything is normal. But since the playground is made of garbage, what kind of disrespect for the guests and in particular for my child is that he has to play in the trash heap, so I give the overall score 3. I would give it 4, but I take off 1 point for the moral humiliation of the relative playground made of garbage and for violating safety regulations, that there is no special equipment for children's playgrounds.
5. Restaurant (main).
5.1 Food - the feeding was normal, we weren’t hungry, but no frills. Cheap products predominate, five potato dishes? (fried, boiled and mashed - as the famous film said, plus potato rings, for example), three pasta dishes and so on. Guys, a five-star hotel should give guests a choice of several hot dishes for every meal meat dishes. There must be pork, beef, lamb, fish and poultry at the same time. IN this hotel For lunch, let's have pork ribs and fish. For dinner, beef and fried sprat. Another day for lunch chicken and fish. For dinner, grilled liver and fried capelin. That is, there are always two hot dishes. They even fed me nuggets, what kind of fast food is that? There is no diet menu in this hotel, not to be confused with a children's menu. The children's menu consists of French fries, nuggets and all sorts of nonsense that older children love. And the dietary menu is what can be given to a child up to three to five years old, that is, boiled, stewed everything (boiled chicken, boiled or stewed vegetables). There are stewed vegetables, of course, but they are with spices. So, there is no diet table, there is a children's table. Fortunately, I was almost three years old, and I found something to feed him, wiped the mustard sauce off the chicken with a napkin, picked out eggplants from the stew, peeled the grill crust off the meat, and so on, in general, got out. I can’t imagine what to feed a one-year-old child here. In the morning there is porridge, one type of semolina, but at least that’s enough, otherwise my child would go hungry. The food is delicious - there are no complaints here, but modestly, you can feel the total savings. Fruits – at one meal there are only two types of fruits, that is, there is not much choice and all the fruits are cut. Apples in circles, peaches in 8 parts, apricots in half, plums in 4 parts, kiwi in half, citrus fruits in slices, well, watermelons and melons are cut by themselves. That is, the fruit also shows that the hotel is saving money, that is, you won’t be able to take a couple of peaches with you to the beach, the hotel is in crisis, take into account that the hotel is located in the south of the island, where agriculture is well developed. Three types of ice cream, I got tired of it in 10 days, at least change the flavors, otherwise the same thing gets boring. The beer is tasty, the wine is good - no complaints here. Baking so-so. Cheese such as Gouda and feta cheese. There is always only one soup; for a five-star hotel there should be at least two soups for lunch. For the food I give it 4. It doesn't deserve five stars at all. Moreover, the hotel positions itself as a family hotel and for children.
5.2 Cleanliness - dirty dishes. If you don’t believe me, take any glass or wine glass and look at it in the light, you will see traces of lipstick that have not been washed off, someone’s finger, in general, brrrr. I went through 10 wine glasses, couldn’t find a clean one, then I just wiped them. But on the other hand, the senior manager of the restaurant and the director of the restaurant rush around the room like scalded people and watch the waiters, who work very well, and remove dirty dishes very quickly. The director would better check the dishes that are supplied to his hall. In general, glasses and wine glasses are not washed in the dishwasher (I know what dishes from a dishwasher look like), but are simply rinsed and taken out into the hall, in general, you can also pick up illnesses from another guest, sanitary standards are violated. Baby high chair, do not wipe. Crumbs, dried beets and stains on the table and other food debris can be on the high chair for several days, so I always went with wet wipes and wiped the table and high chair. Plus there are flies, they are everywhere, don’t sit in the corner of the restaurant, the air conditioning there doesn’t work well and there are so many flies in the darkness. I give it a 3 for cleanliness.
6. Ensuring human life – 4 points. Drinking water is not supplied to the room. Guys, if you sell trips to your hotel with an all-inclusive system, then water must be included in this system. Because without water a person cannot exist. Upon arrival in the room there was one 1.5 liter bottle of water and that’s it. There are coolers and disposable cups on site; you can get drunk, but it’s not convenient. If a child wakes up at one in the morning and asks for water, you need to run to the reception desk to the cooler and pour him some water. Since you are five stars, there should be water in the rooms, but you didn’t have it, so I’m taking off a point. Since formally you prevented me from dying of thirst by installing coolers, but you did not create for me the water comfort in the room typical of a five-star hotel. Personally, I didn’t pay attention to the forbidden signs throughout the hotel stating that water should not be poured into a bottle from the cooler; I defiantly walked up to the cooler with a healthy one and a half liter bottle right in front of the staff and poured water for myself. No one said a word to me and would not dare to say a word, since my hotel is an all-inclusive system and this means I must have everything so that I can live without spending a penny. My principle. Otherwise, today buy your own water, tomorrow buy your own meat. Someone bought water for themselves, their difficulties, let them buy it.
I will not write in detail about the sea, since this is not the merit of the hotel, it is the merit of nature. It's gorgeous. And my review is about the hotel and its service. So, let's summarize the points:
1. Rooms – 3.8 points
2. Hotel area – 4 points
3. Beach equipment – 3 points
4. For children – 3 points
5. Restaurant - – 3.5 points (food 4 points and cleanliness 3 points)
6. Ensuring human life – 4 points (drinking water, buy it yourself)
TOTAL average score for the hotel: 3.41 points.
CONCLUSION: from all of the above, one gets the impression that either the owner of the hotel is a terrible miser and a miser and allocates little money for the development of the hotel and its improvement. Either this hotel has a bad manager who does not monitor the staff and distributes finances poorly. The mode of economy can be seen in everything; I personally don’t feel comfortable resting with such a feeling of economy.
P.S., advice: the transfer is long, judging by the other guests (they traveled for 3-3.5 hours, stopping at 7-9 hotels along the way). We took private transfer(we haven’t traveled on a shared car for a long time, I don’t like to wait for everyone), we booked it ourselves, without a tour operator, round trip - 15 thousand, it took 70-75 minutes each way in a comfort class car, a Mercedes E-class, a 2015 car. The driver met us at the airport, took our luggage and carried it himself on a trolley, escorted us to the car, there was air conditioning, a spacious interior, offered water, some croissants, and we rushed off, beauty.

Sunshine Crete Beach & Annex 5* is a large hotel complex on the island of Crete. It is located 8 kilometers from the nearest town of Ierapetra, on south coast islands, which determines its profile - beach holiday. The large green area in close proximity to the sea is consistent with its autonomous functioning and the reception of tourists on an all-inclusive basis.

In fact, the complex is represented by two hotels, with a combined infrastructure:

  • A - Crete Beach 5* built in 1989;
  • B - Crete Village (Annex 4*) built in 1999.

The main difference is the location relative to the sea: the first (A) is located in close proximity, and the second (B) is 300 m from the beach, across the road, on the mountainside. Both territories are connected by an underground passage and a shuttle bus.

The number of rooms consists of two and three-story buildings. In 2005 (Village) and 2012 (Beach), work was carried out to renovate the premises.

Both areas have swimming pools for children and adults, playgrounds, GYM's and walking paths. But the main animation work takes place in Sunshine Crete Beach. The resort area is well-groomed and planted with flowering shrubs; paths and benches in picturesque corners are conducive to walks and contemplative relaxation.

Sea, sun and a well-thought-out system of family recreation have been attracting our compatriots to Sunshine Calimera Club Kreta & Annex for 10 years now. People come here with both teenagers and very young children.

The establishment has been working for several years with an international team of animators, including Russian-speaking ones, who are able to turn children’s holidays into a memorable holiday.

The furnishings and decoration of the rooms create a feeling of comfort. There is everything you need for a healthy sleep and placement of things. System All inclusive in Club Calimera Sunshine Kreta 5* means multiple meals in restaurants of different cuisines, including snacks by the pool and on the beach. Guests have unlimited complimentary access to beer and wine stations, soft drinks and ice cream.

In Greece national peculiarity is to prepare dishes from the freshest and highest quality ingredients. The more “stars” a hotel has, the more varied the menu, and the popular buffet certainly has vegetarian and dietary zones.

The main restaurant Dionissos is the venue for early breakfasts, lunches and dinners for Beach 5* guests, which are served as a buffet. On the territory of the Village, the same function is performed by the Minos restaurant. Brunch is served at the outdoor Aphrodite Bar by the pool.

A romantic dinner with an order of dishes can be had by appointment in the Italian restaurant Mamma Mia (with 60 seats), or in the Kapetanios restaurant, which operates on an “a la carte” system.

The following are available to guests on site:

  • Greek tavern Zorbas (75 seats);
  • Poseidon main bar;
  • Thalassa beach bar;
  • Sunset pool bar (Village part);
  • night disco bar.

A European breakfast traditionally consists of a standard set of products, an indispensable addition to which are fresh vegetables and fruits. The omelet will be prepared right there, before your eyes. Porridge will please your compatriots. Coffee from the coffee machine, tea bags and juices complete the morning menu.

At lunch and dinner, the menu is much more varied: a large assortment of cold and hot dishes, seafood, fish, grilled and steamed meat, quality wine and several types of strong alcohol. Sliced vegetables and all kinds of dressings allow everyone to put together their own version of the salad. Ripe Southern fruits are served for dessert along with three varieties of ice cream. The soup, however, is of only one name and, as is customary in Europe, pureed.

In Greece, you need to be prepared for large portions in an a la carte restaurant and ask the waiter in advance about its volume. Each guest can, by prior arrangement, taste exquisite dishes of Italian and Greek cuisine in the a la carte restaurant or Greek tavern.

For a child, if the guest is not satisfied with the dietary dishes, in the main restaurant they can prepare something from a special children's menu and heat up milk, even if it is not in the general supply.

A high chair for children is available upon request.

The main asset of the island of Crete is the beaches and azure depths of the Libyan Sea. Situated on a gentle slope, the hotel complex terraces down to the beach.

The beach is small pebble with a gentle entrance and a sandy bottom, which usually pleases parents with small children. The shallow water warms up well, and the pebbles gently massage children's feet. The open space formed by the water area is ideal for water skiing and surfing, which is supported by the facilities of the complex. The kids are happy to disappear water slides In aquapark. On the beach there is water attractions and for adults, foam parties are often held near them, where you can take spectacular photos and videos as a souvenir.
