Santa marina hotel 4 Bulgaria. Santa Marina Holiday Village – Reviews. Bars and restaurants

In our article we want to talk about the hotel Santa Marina Holiday Village, which is located in the resort town of Santa Marina near Sozopl.

Resort location

Before moving on to the description of the rooms, I would like to tell you a little about the town itself. Resort complex Santa Marina is located in an amphitheater on the first line right next to the sea. Very close is the famous royal beach, famous for its white sand. Resort town surrounded by mixed forests, turning this place into a cozy oasis, protected from the whole world with its problems.

The territory of the complex has excellent developed infrastructure. There are children's rooms here entertainment centers, bars, restaurants, swimming pools and many other amenities that turn tourists' holidays into a real holiday.

Complex structure

The entire village consists of four-story cottages with different apartments, many of which have beautiful views of the sea. The resort is surrounded by greenery. The architecture of the buildings is made in the style of the Bulgarian Revival of the nineteenth century. The town was built in such a way that seventy percent of its territory remained under green spaces and park alleys. Best place For have a relaxing holiday just can't be found.

A little about the hotel

The Santa Marina Holiday Village is located two kilometers from Sozoplya. It has direct access to motorways. The complex was founded in 2006, and since then it has been hosting amateurs sea resorts. In 2013, the hotel was completely renovated. Currently, it is a completely modern complex with all the necessary infrastructure.

Hotel Santa Marina Holiday Village is located at the following address: Bulgaria, Sozopol, 8130, H.V. Santa Marina, ap 13, 407. Essentially, it is a closed-type hotel complex. Consists of eighty villas and cottages (two- and three-story), which are built along Black Sea coast. Externally, the resort resembles an ordinary Bulgarian village on the shores of the Sozopol Bay.

Hotel Features

Santa Marina Holiday Village is a town living its own resort life. On its territory you can rent not only apartments with several rooms, but also entire attics. The interiors of all apartments fit perfectly into the overall atmosphere of this resort: the walls are painted in sandy tones, natural wooden furniture in an inimitable country style, highlighted by unobtrusive but original accessories.

The layout of the apartments makes them very convenient for everyday relaxation. They have kitchen units, washing machines, ironing facilities, and, of course, the Internet.

Rooms

As we have already mentioned, Santa Marina Holiday Village is a large complex, and therefore the number of rooms is very diverse. It is not possible to describe all possible options within the framework of the article. Therefore, we will give a description of only some of the most popular apartments to give general idea about this wonderful place:

  1. The studio has an area of about forty square meters and can accommodate two guests. It consists of sleeping and living areas and also has a kitchenette. This type of apartment does not have an extra bed.
  2. Rooms with a bedroom and a living room have large area(65 square meters). These apartments can comfortably accommodate two people.
  3. The rooms with two bedrooms and one living room are designed for a family of four. Such apartments have an area of about eighty square meters.

The hotel's room stock is very diverse, everyone can choose the right option for themselves. All apartments in the complex are very spacious and well equipped, creating a wonderful atmosphere for a carefree holiday.

Hotel infrastructure

Santa Marina Holiday Village is not quite ordinary hotel, but rather a whole village with its own well-functioning infrastructure. The complex has five swimming pools, three of which are for adults and two for children. The reservoirs are built in a cascade and decorated with various lighting and all kinds of bridges.

The hotel has been welcoming guests since 2006, during which time a children's playground, places for playing volleyball, basketball, football, table tennis and a tennis court have appeared on its territory. Animators offer water aerobics classes to tourists every day. For active vacationers The hotel even has extreme rides. Initially, a SPA center was opened in the complex; over the many years of its operation, the range of services has gradually expanded.

Not everyone can overcome the large territory of the hotel on foot, and therefore electric cars are used for tourists. This is very convenient, especially for small children and older people. And the staircase leading to the sea was supplemented with an elevator, which makes the descent much faster and shorter.

The hotel is interesting because it has a huge green area. Everything around is surrounded by trees and bushes, there are many flower beds. Everything is very clean and tidy. It's nice to just stroll along the alleys. I would like to note that this huge territory has natural differences in height, which is associated with the local landscape. Perhaps some people won't like it.

"Santa Marina" is a hotel with a parking lot, although, probably, this point is not so important for our compatriots.

Bars and restaurants

On the territory of Santa Marina Holiday Village 4* there is a cafe “Sky”, “Breeze”, a bar “Joy” and a pizzeria. At these establishments, guests can have a bite to eat and enjoy fine cocktails.

In the “Gallery” the chef will prepare the dish you ordered right in front of you. The main restaurant of the resort is Apollonia. Every day this establishment feeds tourists delicious and satisfying breakfasts, dinners and lunches. However, those vacationers who do not want or cannot eat at in public places, can buy groceries in the supermarket on site and cook on their own, since all rooms are equipped with their own kitchenettes. This is especially convenient for those families who come with small children.

Beach

Santa Marina Holiday Village (Sozopol) has its own small sandy beach with paid umbrellas and sunbeds. There is also a fairly large beach area nearby at the nearby Goldfish Campground. It has a free area that can be visited by vacationers from neighboring hotels. The entrance to the water along the entire coast is gentle and comfortable, quite suitable for children. The water is clean, but not always calm; after all, this is the Black Sea. The beaches are equipped with changing rooms, cafes, and showers.

Entertainment

There are many sports areas on the territory of Santa Marina Holiday Village. The hotel's animators do an excellent job of organizing children's leisure time. Young tourists are very satisfied. In addition, the complex has a children's playground, or rather, several of them. In general, there will always be something for kids to do.

But as for adult animation, according to tourists, it is not enough. However, you won’t be bored at Santa Marina Holiday Village 4* (Sozopol). In the evenings, the resort is transformed beyond recognition, bathed in the lights of bright lanterns. In addition, the complex is located near Sozopol. You can get to the city in twenty minutes on foot, or you can take a ride by transport. The entire road stretches along the sea, you can admire the beautiful scenery. And in Sozopol, tourists will find numerous bars, restaurants, cafes and plenty of entertainment.

Local Attractions

While spending your holiday at the hotel, it is impossible not to visit Sozopol. This wonderful old town is filled with beautiful places where you can take unique pictures as a souvenir. It was founded back in the sixth century BC by brave Greek colonists on the rocky coast of the peninsula. In ancient times the city was called Apollonia.

Currently, this place has become a favorite among Bulgarian bohemians. Numerous musicians, actors, and artists are attracted here by the very special atmosphere of the town. There really is something to see here: beautiful old churches, white houses under red tiles, narrow cobbled streets, stone alleys... All this is surrounded by greenery of figs and vineyards. And the unique ones sandy beaches and the beautiful harbor are the pride of Sozopol.

Once a year the city hosts an arts festival dedicated to the god Apollo. At this time, Sozopol is filled with an artistic atmosphere. The festival lasts ten days. If you happen to be vacationing here at this time, you should definitely wander around the city. Here you can see theatrical performances, photo exhibitions, and artwork. The festival attracts foreign and Bulgarian artists, singers, actors, dancers and ordinary spectators.

Of greatest interest to tourists is the old part of the city, which is an architectural reserve and is under UNESCO protection. Particularly beautiful in it is the church from the times of the Bulgarian Renaissance, ancient houses, remains of fortress walls, restaurants national cuisine with panoramic views of the sea coast.

Santa Marina Holiday Village: reviews

Concluding the conversation about the hotel, I would like to turn to the impressions of vacationers. According to tourists, the complex has quite comfortable spot location. The journey from the airport by bus does not take more than forty minutes. Of course, you can order a transfer at the hotel, but it is not particularly necessary. It’s quite possible to get there on your own.

Tourists are very pleased with the spacious and beautiful rooms of the hotel complex. Particularly delightful is the presence of a kitchen. This is very convenient, because you can always prepare something for the child, and for adults as well. There are several shops on site, so there are no problems with groceries. You can buy semi-finished products at any time, a couple of minutes - and the dish is ready. Many vacationers purchase a hotel tour with only breakfast, and for lunch and dinner they eat in a cafe or cook on their own. This option is the most convenient, since often you don’t want to leave the beach and it’s easier to have a snack there. Or, when going for a walk in Sozopol, you don’t have to rush to dinner. In this regard, everything in the complex is well thought out.

The hotel area itself is of great interest. She's really huge. It takes two to three days to walk around it and explore it. There's a lot to see here. "Santa Marina" is somewhat similar to Botanical Garden. On its territory there are collected many plants from all over the world that get along well here. There are a lot of beautiful flowers around.

The complex is designed in such a way that rain is not a problem. The water disappears very quickly, not even puddles remain. The infrastructure is thought out to the smallest detail, you can live there for a couple of weeks without leaving and not even think about anything.

You can walk to Sozopol, or for two leva you can take a ride on a train that runs every half hour. Last flight he does at ten o'clock in the evening. After this, you can only get there by taxi (ten leva). Sozopol is a wonderful city, worth walking around and sitting in the atmosphere of local cafes.

Children's resort

The hotel is good place for holidays with children. Here the coast itself seems to be created for kids. In addition, there are many children's playgrounds on the territory itself. Not to mention that it is closed and guarded. Entertainment activities are organized for children. In general, the animators do a good job. The kids really like it local beach. They rush along the shore with nets and catch local marine life. This process causes them special delight.

Service: reviews

The rooms are cleaned by maids every day. Towels are also changed daily. The staff is friendly. The quality of cleaning is sometimes poor. Baby cots are provided free of charge.

As for the service in hotel restaurants, not all guests are satisfied. The staff is slow and poor quality.

If you don’t want to eat in a cafe, you can cook yourself. Fruits, vegetables and meat in stores here are much cheaper than in Turkey. A lot of seafood is also sold: flounder, eels, stingrays, mussels, shrimp.

The hotel can arrange trips to local attractions. Definitely worth checking out old castle. In principle, to all interesting and beautiful places You can easily get there on your own if you don’t want group “races”.

Instead of an afterword

Summing up all of the above, I would like to note that Santa Marina is a wonderful holiday complex. It can be safely recommended to tourists planning to spend their holidays in Bulgaria. A large beautiful area, spacious rooms, good infrastructure and beautiful scenery - all this is a guarantee have a nice holiday on the sea coast.

Overall, not bad.
Having read unflattering reviews about Santa Marina, about Bulgaria, in particular, and about Sozopol, I was preparing for the worst and regretted my choice of hotel 100 times, but it was already impossible to change anything. We took our two-year-old son to the sea for the first time, so we prepared for the trip very carefully. Why are reviews about Bulgaria and Santa Marina frightening? These horror stories are rotaviruses, a disgusting beach, a dirty sea, an inconvenient location of this hotel and rudeness of apartment owners.
Luckily, none of this came true!
First things first.
Accommodation.
I was afraid that they would settle me far from the beach, but that didn’t happen. As I understand it, hotel guests are accommodated only on the first line. We were within easy reach of the beach, the store, and any point of the infrastructure of the hotel complex. Perhaps next time I would even want to live further away from the main entrance, since in the evening the music in the restaurant by the central pool was a little disturbing. And walking around Santa Marina is a real pleasure in any weather! Magnificent flowers, trees from different parts of the planet, indeed, Santa Marina is a real botanical garden on the shores of the Black Sea. The structure of the complex is such that even if it rains, there are no puddles here at all, since the water drains away as quickly as possible.
In principle, if you have even a small amount of money, you can live in Santa Marina for several weeks without leaving the territory. The complex is well equipped with infrastructure - in the shops you can buy food and household items the same as in Sozopol. Everything is no more than 10% more expensive. The difference in the price of our daily purchases was equivalent to the cost of a taxi ride to Sozopol and back, so we opted for shopping in Santa Marina. By the way, I recommend a shop with Bulgarian cosmetics on rose water. The prices for the products are the same as in Stari Grad, but I have never met such charming sellers in the center of Sozopol.
Santa Marina has both beauty salons and spa services. They didn’t cause me much enthusiasm, but the prices for these services do not differ from those in St. Petersburg.
Fortunately, none of us got sick with rotavirus or other diseases. The whole family swam in the pools and ate in restaurants. Fortunately, they did not use the services of a local doctor.
Beach.
It is ideal for a child 2-5 years old. No waves, no jellyfish, smooth sunset and clear water. Nearby there is grass and a playground. For adults and older children, “Golden Fish Beach” is a stone’s throw away. It's noisy and fun there. An express train runs to the much-praised Kavatsi beach every half hour, but we never got there.
For children.
Santa Marina has excellent playgrounds, especially just outside the complex and on the second beach. I would even like to call them developmental. In rainy weather we took the child to the nursery.
There are very inexpensive toys in Sozopol. They brought a whole bag of planes and cars.
In the room.
The bed is comfortable, everything you need is in the room. The choice of dishes is really small, but there is enough to boil pasta and cook porridge. It was a pleasant bonus for us that by booking a room with a garden view, we got a view of both the beautiful garden and the sea! It’s also nice that we were provided with a baby cot in our room for free, and not for 10 euros per day.
Bed linen and towels were changed on time. The maids are friendly, but they clean things differently. Sometimes even our shoes were arranged by color, and sometimes after cleaning they cleaned themselves, but I don’t want to pay attention to such trifles.
By the way, on the first night in the new place the neighbors on the first floor were making a terrible noise. By technical reasons I couldn’t call security, but this didn’t happen again.
Restaurants.
If there's one thing that's not perfect in Santa Marina, it's the restaurants. Beautiful view, live music, the magnificent interior is spoiled by the staff. There are not enough waiters, the menu is almost the same everywhere, the kitchen takes a very long time to prepare. It was a shame that my husband’s birthday was ruined, which they decided to celebrate in the central restaurant.
Restaurants have a nanny for children, but alas, usually the girl sits and watches TV in the corner. I didn’t even immediately realize that it was the nanny.
In Sozopol, restaurants are more interesting and more democratic, they fight for every client. In Santa Marina, unfortunately, the staff is spoiled.
Neighborhood.
Sozopol, in my opinion, is a small and boring town. Hello to Koktebel from the early nineties. The Bulgarian mentality is a separate topic, not within the framework of a review of the hotel. "Stari Grad" is not bad, if not for the persistent smells from garbage dumps on every corner. Everyone praised the market for locals. Alas, the market is a tent with fruit and a hangar with wine. Sozopol has a good wide central beach, an excellent children's playground in the central square and beautiful restaurants with affordable prices and smiling staff.
Summary. I definitely want to return to Santa Marina. But to Bulgaria, not yet

The landscape designer should have erected a monument. The territory is filled with a wide variety of trees, bushes and flowers, everything is very harmonious and stunningly beautiful.
The beach near the hotel is small (there is another one, a little further away, with the usual set marine entertainment). There is a highway between the hotel and the beach, which can be crossed via an overpass. Sunbeds cost a lot - about 3 euros, and therefore almost 3/4 are empty. The bottom is sand, on the beach near the hotel there are sharp stones. After the slightest storm it brings a bunch of algae. They are removed, but without fanaticism - within 2-3 days. So, in addition to free fitness, get ready for free thalassotherapy :)
There is little entertainment at the hotel - three swimming pools and a spa. I did not find the promised bicycles. What prevents them from building several water slides(Given that the number of children is amazing), I don’t understand. There is animation, but it is quite modest - aqua aerobics and a few children's competitions. Children's room is paid. On the outskirts of the complex there is a Cocolandia playground where children can overcome a very exciting obstacle course.
The food is very so-so. Moreover, IMHO this is a property of Bulgaria in general. Expensive and tasteless. Although maybe I was just unlucky. The hotel breakfast is probably worth the money, but it would be better if it were more expensive and better. There are almost no fruits (only apples and oranges), no dried fruits at all, and there are no bell peppers among the vegetables (sic!). Little things also irritate me: the oil is not refrigerated, there is no lemonade, the juice is diluted every fourth day, there is no ketchup as standard. The only thing that made me happy was my favorite Twinings tea. The waiters are friendly and clear the dishes quickly.
Unfortunately, Bulgaria is much closer to the Soviet Union than Lithuania. The roads alone are worth it (even the only highway in the country has no lighting).
In general, everything in the hotel is imbued with the spirit of sloppiness and insanity. The phone number on the hotel website is incorrect. It’s not worth renting a car through the hotel - they cheated me the second time, although I ordered the car three days in advance and reminded them the day before. I ended up being late for the meeting :(
The Internet is wired (we were tempted to spend an extra 60 bucks on a router at home), the wire is short, the socket is extremely in an inconvenient place, so bring a long twisted pair cable, or even better, a router with wifi :)
There is a laundry service, but first of all they need to be convinced to take laundry by weight, and not by list (such a service is usually provided only to apartment owners), and then run half a kilometer away to pay. There are no machines where you can throw coins...
The rooms (or rather, apartments) are large, the kitchens are well equipped, and there are dishes. Our apartment had tiles, not carpet, so it was uncomfortable without slippers.
Mostly Russian families live/vacate in Santa Marina, and for the most part they are quite adequate.
Excursions. You can go to Sozopol by train (5 minutes, 2 levs, breathing gasoline along the highway) or by taxi (7 levs). I highly recommend going to Veliko Tarnovo. We took a car and drove ourselves, but 250 kilometers one way through the mountains is difficult. Another impressive excursion to Ropotamo is a walk along the river (herons and turtles) and in jeeps around the hunting grounds (wild boars, roe deer). No one guarantees animals, but we were lucky - we saw herons, turtles, and wild boars. We also went to Nessebar - it was nice. And the water park is not bad - there are several original slides.
In general, I don’t consider the vacation a failure, but I probably won’t repeat the experience.
