Strogino is nearby. How to get to the recreation area “Stroginskaya Poyma. From metro station Shchukinskaya

Strogino is one of the rare residential areas of Moscow where people come to relax. There are no museums, theaters or galleries here, but where else within the city limits can you go wakeboarding, watch the games of the strongest European beach soccer teams, or swim without risking your health?

Trinity-Lykovo

The former village, and now part of the city, is very different from the rest of the area. At the beginning of the 16th century, on this site there was the village of Cherevkovo, which Vasily Shuisky gave to Prince Boris Mikhailovich Lykov. Lykov built a temple in the name Life-Giving Trinity and renamed the village New Troitskoye. Later, Peter I donated the village, along with the surrounding villages, to his uncle Martemyan Naryshkin. The area will see many prominent owners: the Razumovskys, the Buturlins, the Karzinkins. In 1960, the village became Moscow; Alexander Solzhenitsyn lived here at one time. Now it's private sector with townhouses and cottages, but their minority are mostly modest wooden or small brick houses with simple fences and vegetable gardens. There is even a stable. If you get to this part of Strogino, you will never guess that you are in a city and not in a holiday village.

Trinity Church in Trinity-Lykovo

Built at the turn of the 17th-18th centuries, the church in the “Naryshkin Baroque” style is an architectural monument. It was built by order of the owner of the village of Trinity-Lykovo, Martemyan Naryshkin, who was the uncle of Peter I. They say that the foundation stone of the temple was laid by the emperor himself as a sign of respect for his relative. During the Patriotic War of 1812, the French destroyed the sanctuary. Afterwards it was restored, but in 1933 the Soviet government closed the church - although it did not demolish it. Now it is active.

Many local residents make appointments at the SU-100, a self-propelled artillery unit from the Great Patriotic War, installed on a pedestal as a monument to the defenders of Moscow. So, if you hear this combination of letters and numbers, don’t be shocked, but just ask the locals: “Where is the tank here?” (because of the similarity with the SU-100 tank they call it that way).
