Laura lift on Krasnaya Polyana map. Skiing on the Gazprom slopes in Krasnaya Polyana. More information about STK Gornaya Karusel

Many novice skiers and snowboarders who come to the Krasnaya Polyana resorts do not understand which slopes to take their first steps on. These can be found on any highway - frozen in front of steep hill or flying head over heels downwards.

How do they get there? Some people think that the green slopes are too easy and climb the blue ones. But almost all blue trails have sections that are more like the red ones. And then, if there is no way back, the ski lifts are far away, chaos begins - people turn into uncontrollable projectiles, whistling past us.

Others simply cannot find the tracks they need because Krasnopolyansk resorts have become large and it is easy to get lost. And the areas for beginners are so small that they can easily be overlooked.

Now we'll fix everything! Are you with me? Dive for beginners!

Ski slopes for beginners at Rosa Khutor, Gorki Gorod, Gazprom

If you come to our resorts for the first time and have never skied before alpine skiing/boards in big mountains, then you need to start with the simplest areas.

Why? Because they are almost flat and it is convenient to practice the first movements on them. Because mostly beginners ride here, and they ride slowly - safely. Because in such paddling pools There is no shame in falling - everyone falls here.

These slopes are also short and absolutely not attractive for experienced skiers/snowboarders, so the queues here are not as long as at other lifts during the peak season.

And there are always a lot of kind instructors here, and if anything happens, they will help you.

Once you learn how to turn and control your speed on these tracks, you can move on to blue tracks.

Not all green slopes at the Krasnaya Polyana ski resorts are created equal. If they are the kind the sight of which can easily paralyze a beginner, he or she will never budge. I’ll show you those that are really comfortable for beginners.

Trails for beginners on Gorki Gorod

Ski resort Gorki Gorod - green slopes for beginners

How to get there

From the lower level of the Gorki Gorod resort you ascend to the upper station in lift K1(cabins). Next, go around the lower station of the K2 lift on the left and after 50 meters take the short lift K10(cabins). The lifts on the map are highlighted with double red squares.

After 3 minutes you reach the starting point of the desired one (green) route 12A, which is served by a 4-seater chairlift lift K12. It is highlighted in red and shaded with green stripes.

Trails for beginners at the Gazprom resort

Gazprom ski resort - green slopes for beginners

How to get there

The Gazprom resort has two ski areas for beginners:

  • Level (intermediate) Psekhako Shelter - routes E1, C1
  • Level (upper station) Pikhtovy Shelter - Route I

Before Shelter Psekhako get there by lift A1 (cabins). Before Shelter Fir— lift A2 (booths), which you can transfer to at the top of lift A1. Even to Pikhtovoye you can take the new 30-seater A3 lift directly (without transfers) from the lower station of the Alpika-Service resort, which is located next to railway station Rosa Khutor.

Stations are highlighted on the map in red, routes in green.

All of the mentioned slopes are served by rope tows, which are less comfortable than chairlifts, especially for snowboarders.

Trails for beginners at the Rosa Khutor resort

Green trail area at the Rosa Khutor resort - Rosa Plateau

How to get there

To get to the necessary routes at the Rosa Khutor resort you need to take the Olympia lift from the lower level of Rosa Dolina to top station. This level is called Rose Plateau or Mountain Village. That's it, you're there.

You should not go up from below on the Strela lift - it will take you above the required level. From there you will have to go down the B52 highway.

An enlarged section of the map of the Rosa Khutor - Rosa Plateau resort:

Rosa Khutor - green trails for beginners at the Rosa Plateau level

At the Rosa Khutor ski resort, very little space is allocated for beginners - the track along the Chalet chairlift (4-seater) and then the Lilliputian area with a belt lift (magic carpet) for those who are completely green. Both routes are highlighted in red on the map.

Not enough when compared to the total number of tracks.

There are other green slopes on the resort map (B52 and Plateau), but they are not suitable for training, as they are narrow and long paths designed to connect different ski areas and access the ski lifts for descent.

At the end New Year's holidays Gazprom has finally opened the long-awaited red G slopes for skiing, the total length of which is about 6.5 km, and an hour after their opening we were already on the slope, ready to test them personally. Under the cut detailed description this ski area, and my impressions.

I’ll say right away that these are really RED tracks. And they are wide enough for maximum comfortable riding. It’s very good here to carve on corduroy in the morning. And at the same time, then you don’t have to drive a couple of kilometers to the cable car along narrow serpentine sections, like on Rosa Khutor or Mountain Carousel.

These routes begin from the Pikhtovy shelter at an altitude of 1600 meters, which can be reached either from Gazprom on the A2 cable car, or from the railway station on the A3 cable car (with 30-seater cabins), it will take approximately the same time (ski pass too one). If the weather is good, we strongly recommend taking a ride on the A3 cable car - from it to the Aibga ridge and the rest of the Krasnaya Polyana ski resorts located on it.

Cableway G

Track characteristics:

RouteLength, mAverage width, mHeight difference, m.
G11900 53 530.
G2703 59 195.
G31650 66 450.
G41900 55 610.
G5156 55 40.

There are no lighting or artificial snow on these routes yet.

Gazprom route map

At the top of the cable car G (by the way, this is one of two chairlifts on Gazprom, which are equipped with caps from wind and snow) there are 200 meters that you can drive under the cable car (well, it’s more like a paddling pool for freeriders, since the slope is small), then along the technical route you go onto the G2 highway (below the technical route there was too little snow under the cable car, now perhaps the situation has changed). Gazprom, we beg you, turn your face to freeride - see how people like it!

Check out the Dodger.

From time to time you can catch your breath a little by grabbing a piece of powder from the edge of the track. But in general there is little space at the edges of the route, everything is covered with safety nets, and the forest is mostly too dense to drive through.

Uffff…. Finally, the end of the track is near. I must say, this season for the first time I sweated while going down the track.

But the rollout of the G1-G3 and G5 routes is a little scary - a narrow turn on a rather steep section. At speed, you may not fit in, and if you slow down, you won’t reach the end of the rollout, which is also not good. But on the right behind the net there is a quite comfortable wide run-out of the G4 track.

Roll out to the cable car

In the future, there will be transit from here to the lower station of the cable car F.

Summary: forget about “Gazprom is only for beginners”, sharpen your edges - you will really need them, and try riding here. If you love piste skiing, then pleasure is guaranteed.

Also read about simpler trails starting from the Pikhtovy shelter:.

On our way back, we noticed new racks for skis and snowboards with locks near the entrance to the Pikhtovy shelter. Activated for free with any working ski pass, very convenient. But so far there are only two such counters in the entire resort.

Everything you need for skiing can be purchased at the largest equipment hypermarket:

Today we decided to go to the GTC Gazprom. There are 3 of them in Sochi (Gazprom, and Gornaya Karusel). We made our choice based on price, and we wanted to check out all 3 ski resorts in Krasnaya Polyana ourselves on this trip.

Gazprom has a daily tariff. On holidays, 2000 rubles for an adult ticket until 16.30. You can also pay by bank card. Or you can even buy your ticket in advance on the website and avoid standing in line at the ticket office; by the way, it was small (no more than 5 minutes).

We got there without any problems, we only stopped once, the impression was that they just wanted to find fault with something - the traffic police officer with burning eyes sniffed and peered soulfully into his eyes, he didn’t even look at the documents, he just held them in his hands =), asked 3 times did I drink, I said yes - 4 days ago a glass of champagne, after thinking for 5 seconds I wished me a good trip.

In the end, there was nothing to complain about, and the stop did not take much time. We drove from our apartment to Gazprom in an hour. And after 15 minutes, we were riding the funicular in anticipation that our dreams would come true in this city.

By the way, the next day, another crew stopped us at this very place; when asked about documents, they said that they stopped here yesterday - well, since they stopped us, go ahead - I received an answer =)

In general, they keep order, it is clear that probably all the employees have been assigned to reinforcement.

Parking at the GTC Gazprom Sochi

We parked in a covered parking lot and found a spot without any problems. From the parking lot you take the elevator, 20 meters down the street, go through a metal detector, your bag is also through a scanner, just like at the airport and in a warm room you can buy a ski pass, look open trails, there are shops and a mock-presentation of the GTC (mountain tourism center) Gazprom itself.

There are a lot of people, but most of the employees really try to do everything quickly and as correctly as possible.

Parking costs 100 rubles per hour, if more than 3 hours - 400 rubles for the whole. It might be free by the way. The ATM in a warm room near the elevator was supposed to accept cards, but not that day - we paid in cash.

Routes Gazprom Sochi Krasnaya Polyana

I would like to note right away that I really liked how everything was organized and clearly. There are signs everywhere for toilets and cafes on every corner. But our dreams in this city were not destined to come true.

More than half of the trails are closed. 2 blue ones and 1 green one worked. These 2 blue ones (B1, B4) have one chairlift with a giant queue.

Note: the closer it got to lunch, the longer the line got. It took about 40 minutes for one descent and ascent, of which 20 minutes was a queue. The route is short, quite comparable to Stepanovo in the Moscow region.

In general - disappointment. The green route (C1) is generally flat and short, with a rope tow, and there are even more people there.

However, we reached the mountains and it was very difficult to stop, so we rescheduled the day a little. We decided to have lunch, warm up, and then continue skiing.

Gazprom Laura webcams online

Where to eat

For lunch we chose the Shelter cafe on the second floor, it turned out to be buffet. 1500 rubles per adult with an unlimited number of approaches, 750 rubles per child.

There is a restaurant on the third floor of the same building (we didn’t get to it). The buffet selection was not very large, especially for salads, sweets and drinks.

There were 4 types of soup, one of them was creamy pumpkin soup; tea, coffee and fruit drink; 2 types of cakes, 2 types of pies. Salads: Olivier salad, vinaigrette and herring under a fur coat. Hot: pilaf, cutlets and uncooked fish with cheese. We wouldn't go there a second time.

After lunch (after 13.30), there were even more people. Apparently everyone woke up, and the queue for the lift became even longer. And the people there are embittered. Everyone was pushing and shoving. On the slope we witnessed a fight between two men who were separated by 6 other people.

In general, the tracks are short and uninteresting, the queues are long. We got more hassle than a gurney. I think the whole point is that all the red and black tracks were closed, it might be more interesting there.
