Nai yang beach resort planes. Nai Yang Beach is uncrowded and pleasant. For example, swimming in local waters is prohibited.

Away from most of the island's attractions and activities. It’s precisely the relaxed atmosphere and tranquility that tourists who choose this beach for relax.

If you're looking for fun, leisure, excursions, you will probably be disappointed. We decided to check out Nai Yang Beach before our flight from Phuket and got into the local mood.

In this post, I traditionally talk in detail about the beach, sharing a selection best hotels, cafes, restaurants, I explain how to get there.

Description of Nai Yang Beach

As far as I understand, there is no clear boundary between Nai Yang and the northern beach of Mai Khao. For clarity, I defined it in a bay between two capes, this is clearly visible on the map (it’s at the end of the post). The beach is on site national park Sirinat is 2 km long and about 30-35 meters wide.

The southernmost part of Nai Yang beach is absolutely unsuitable for swimming, it is very shallow and the influence of the tides is strong, and a river flows into the sea. But there are no people at all. A gravel road leads here.

Southern part of the beach

A little further is the main crowd of people, the sun loungers are in two rows, but no one bothers anyone. There is a small strip of palms and other trees that provide shade. There are also several simple cafes and many more restaurants across the road. This is where the main concentration of hotels, massage parlors, and even a few bars are located, but they are far from the noise of Patong.

The middle part of the beach is the best. There are no hotels or cafes right on the shore, but there are large trees, a real forest between the beach and the road. In addition, there are almost no people. Sometimes locals come for a picnic in the evening, lay out mats and sit down to eat.

Huge trees create excellent shade

The northern part is a little less suitable for swimming; boats are parked here. But it’s from here best view on planes taking off and landing. If you want planes to fly right over your head, 50 meters away, head to Mai Khao Beach. Travel along the road to this part is paid, the ticket office of the national park costs 200 baht per adult, 100 baht per child. Locals pay less. There are almost no cafes here, and the only accommodation available is park bungalows. By nightfall, all life completely freezes in pitch darkness.

The sand on Nai Yang is medium coarse and light in color, generally pleasant. The water in the sea is clean, and the approach is quite smooth, although steeper than at, for example. Personally, I really liked it here.

Attractions and entertainment

You won't find much entertainment on the beach. The only water sports available are kayak rental. There are several bars with a relaxed reggae atmosphere.

On the other hand, all the necessary infrastructure is available: ATMs, exchangers, cafes, a good choice hotels, there are 7-11 shops and a market.

Street along the beach

The nearest interesting places are the water park a little north of the airport, Bang Pae waterfall and gibbon rehabilitation center on the opposite east side Phuket, Wat Phra Thong temple.

You can walk to the highway from the airport and take the bus to. The town itself is worth a look and the shopping centers are worth visiting. From there you can go to other beaches: , but keep in mind that it will take a lot of time.

Hotels on Nai Yang Beach

The Nai Yang Beach area has a good selection of hotels from budget to luxury. Several hotels are located on the road along the beach, some a little further inland.

Due to the not very popular beach, there is a good price-quality ratio. The first line is occupied by quality 4* and 5* hotels, including the famous The Slate 5* and Mariott Resort & Spa 5*. Further from the coast you can find more budget housing. The cheapest prices are in hotels and condos on the highway, at a distance of 500-800 meters from the sea.

Cafes and restaurants in Nai Yang Beach

The most inexpensive food in the area is the local fresh market, where they also sell fruits and vegetables. It is located on the way to the main highway near the temple (I marked it on the map below), and is open from approximately 16 to 20 hours; on weekends it may open earlier.

Typical cafe along the road

Boss Barperfect place for casual dining with live music. It is located very close to the beach, they have good seafood and fruit shakes. Prices are average.

Ma Ma Nang— a small restaurant in the middle part of the beach. Delicious soups, seafood, pizza and french fries for those who are tired of Thai cuisine. Fruit smoothies are ok too! Located right on the sand on the beach.

Peony Coffee and restaurant— in addition to classic Thai cuisine, coffee is served, a good place for breakfast.

Sea Almond Chilled Restaurant & Bar— excellent location right on the beach with a gorgeous view, large selection of different beers.

The Good View— a simple and inexpensive cafe right on the sand, reasonable prices.

How to get there?

The distance between the airport and the beach is about 2 km, so getting there is not a problem. Another thing is that local taxi drivers ask ridiculous amounts of money for such a distance - at the counter at the exit from the arrivals hall the price is 500 baht! In general, bargain.

If you don't have large bags or small children, an acceptable option is to walk, about 3 km. There is also a bus from the airport to Phuket Town along the highway, but not very often and does not go to the beach itself.

The most comfortable option is to order a transfer online through a service proven by tourists. You will be greeted with a sign upon arrival, your bags will be carried to your car and quickly delivered to your place, and you will already know the price in advance and will not have to bargain on the spot.

Nai Yang Beach is a calm and cozy beach in Phuket. You can find it somewhere in the northwestern part of the island. This beach is not too big. Its length barely reaches 3 km. The sand under your feet resembles golden grains of sand, and the water sparkles with azure tones.

Description of the beach

This place is suitable for those who love silence and solitude - there are few tourists. And in summer time, for a whole hour of walking along the beach you may not meet anyone at all. The most populated part of the beach is the central one, there are mini markets, massage parlors, restaurants, bars and tour desks on the only street along the beach.

Entering the water, depth and waves

Entering the water is relatively quick, the depth increases after 10 meters, provided that there is no serious low tide today. During the monsoon, there are no strong waves in Nai Yang Bay, coral reef protects shallow water from the elements. The entrance to the sea here is very gentle and sometimes the water goes tens of meters from the shore. When the tide is strong, you can forget about swimming altogether; you won’t reach the depths. Also on the southernmost part of about small island full of stones.

Sunbeds and shade

The northern and southern parts of the beach are almost completely deserted, but you can sit on the sand under the shade of trees. There are sun loungers with umbrellas on the shore. In the southern part there is generally a casuarina forest.

Infrastructure

For water activities, you can go kayaking or kitesurfing. In the vicinity of the beach there is the Wat Nai Yang temple, and for nature lovers there is a great opportunity to walk through the mangrove forests of the park. Like many other small beaches, Nai Yang is a refuge from civilization, the hustle and bustle of the city.

There is no one in the immediate vicinity shopping centers, neither market areas, no business buildings, much less centers nightlife. You can have a snack in local coastal cafes or hotel restaurants. As the sun sets, life here comes to a standstill, and the beach becomes gloomy and deserted.

Only where the hotels are is there any movement. There are few hotels on the beach and they are all close to the shore. There are bamboo bungalows available. As I wrote above, the entire civilization is located in the central part: cafes, massage parlors, a couple of minimarkets, currency exchangers.

If you need 7/11, then you need to go to the neighboring highway, it’s about 15-20 minutes from the central part. Around the same place there is a Thai market open on weekends. Well, Phuket airport is just a 5-10 minute drive away.

Houses and hotels on the beach

Be sure to check for discounts or special offers on excellent service. It will quickly and easily show you discounts in all existing booking systems. In Asia, for example, there are a lot of offers on Agoda.com, which are much more profitable than the same hotels in the Booking.com system.

If you want to book a hotel here in advance or look for accommodation on other beaches, I have good rating and reviews.

How to find the beach

If you still decide to go there, then first a surprise awaits you. Only taxis go from there, no other public transport doesn't go there. Of course, if you have your own vehicle, then there are no special problems. You need to follow the signs and get onto the Thep Krasat Tri highway. From there, take Highway 402 to the beach.

Life hack #1 - how to buy good insurance

Choosing insurance now is incredibly difficult, so to help all travelers. To do this, I constantly monitor forums, study insurance contracts and use insurance myself.

A clean and warm sea, soft sand, coral reefs with colorful fish and exotic thickets where you can hide from the scorching sun - what else is needed to relieve stress after a busy workday and recharge your batteries for new career achievements?

The road to the beach does not take much time: it is located 1 km from international airport. By the way, buses also run here regularly from the city.

National Park

The eastern part of Nai Yang Beach is located within the Sirinath National Park. In between sunbathing and water procedures You should definitely take a walk deep into the island and get acquainted with rare plants and animals. If you wish, you can book a guided tour, but you can also explore the park on your own; there are special paths with signs for this.

In that unique place Several species of mangrove trees grow at once - red, white and black. These seemingly inconspicuous trees are an important part of the local ecosystem. They not only protect the banks from erosion, but also purify the waters (due to the presence of a large amount of carbon in the roots).

During the excursion you will probably meet forest inhabitants - birds, monitor lizards, snakes, crabs or even turtles. By the way, if you are planning a trip from November to March, be sure to take the opportunity to watch turtles lay eggs on.

But remember that the local flora and fauna are under state protection, so you should not get too close to the animals.

Wat Nai Yang Temple

In the central part of the beach is the famous Buddhist temple Wat Nai Yang. Previously, it was considered the spiritual center of the region. Even if you do not consider yourself a Buddhist, you should not miss the opportunity to visit this shrine.

There is a lot to see on the temple grounds - a garden with exotic plants, ponds with colorful fish, majestic statues and colorful frescoes.

By the way, free classes on oriental breathing practices are regularly held here during the season.

Entrance to the temple territory is open to everyone, but you can visit the shrine only in modest clothing and barefoot.

Infrastructure

Nai Yang is a relatively sparsely populated place. A few cafes and shops are located mainly in the central part of the beach.

You can have lunch either in a cafe or in a hotel restaurant (the second option will cost more). The menu includes both Thai and European dishes. Seafood dishes are especially popular; the ingredients for them are caught in local waters. You can also snack on fruits and sweets, which are sold right on the beach and along the highway.

Of course, if you wish, you can walk towards the airport, there is a larger selection of establishments there.

Special Attraction Nai Yang - market . It operates 3 times a week from midday until dark. Local merchants offer goods for every taste: from fruits and seafood to jewelry and clothes. Be sure to set aside at least a couple of hours to buy original souvenirs for yourself and your loved ones, try exotic delicacies, and at the same time get to know the local culture better.

Despite the fact that this beach is not impressive in size, there is a good choice of accommodation here. In the surrounding area there are several modern hotels that offer rooms of different categories of comfort.

In addition to hotels, you can stay in bungalows or tents (the latter can be brought with you or rented on site). The campsites are equipped with everything necessary for a comfortable stay, including showers.

Since part of Nai Yang Beach is part of a national park, some restrictions apply.

For example, in local waters you cannot swim on:

  • jet skis
  • and other equipment that may disturb animals.

But you can go surfing or kiteboarding. There are several specialized centers in the surrounding area, where you can not only rent the necessary equipment, but also take relevant courses. Since the shore on this beach is quite flat, aquatic species It is best to practice sports during high tides: it is easier to get to the depths, and the risk of running into sharp rocks is lower.

In the northern part of the beach, a kilometer from the coast, there are picturesque coral reefs. During high tide you can go diving here. And at low tide in sunny weather you can reach the reefs and wade. Such walks are quite safe, so you can take your children with you.

But, of course, you shouldn’t wander around the reefs barefoot - you can cut yourself. Here you can see colorful corals and watch local residents- colorful fish, sea urchins, crabs, shrimp, starfish and others. If you wish, you can also take a yacht or canoe to the reefs.

Another interesting place in the vicinity there is the Splash Jungle water park. It is perfect for relaxing with the whole family: there are extreme rides for thrill-seekers, cozy pools where you can just swim quietly, and a cafe with a variety of drinks and snacks. The park's territory is divided into several thematic zones, stylized as different countries. To get here, you can catch a taxi or order a transfer.

And, of course, Nai Yang Beach has many locations for beautiful photos- azure waters, snow-white sand, huge boulders, branched palm trees, coral reefs. And if you get tired of taking pictures against the backdrop of landscapes, you can arrange an extreme photo shoot near the airport. Many tourists, and even locals, specially select angles to take pictures directly under the wheels of planes that are taking off or landing.

You can come on vacation to Nai Yang at any time of the year, it all depends on personal preferences and financial capabilities.

To fully enjoy the sun and sea, it is better to plan a vacation for the winter. The warmest (and most expensive) months are December and January.
