Exit to long-distance trains. Kursky Station - metro station, how to get there, how to get to Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo and Vnukovo airports, luggage compartment and information desk. Help for people with limited mobility. That's what they say

Leningradsky Station, located in the capital of Russia, is one of the popular ones. It is here that many Russians and even foreigners board the train to travel to the glorious St. Petersburg, as well as to other northern cities.

In addition, there is a suburban service, the final station of which is the city of Tver. To avoid having to search for a long time for the ticket office, the desired platform, rest room and amenities, it is recommended that you familiarize yourself with the map of the Leningradsky Station. Below is some useful information.

Guideline according to the scheme

Before your trip, it is advisable to familiarize yourself with the map of the station to avoid any difficulties. Sometimes it seems that everything will go smoothly. But there are various circumstances that force you to act immediately, for example:

  • traffic jams on the highway;
  • accidents on the street;
  • serious subway train malfunction;
  • extreme weather events and other unpleasant events.

Therefore, upon arrival you have to immediately find your way around. The diagram of the Leningradsky station prepared in advance in this article will help with this.

To make it clear which side to start looking from, it is advisable to return to the beginning of the article, where the image of the station is located. The fact is that passengers meeting and seeing off most often use the front entrance. Exactly the one through which the people in the first photo enter and exit. This entrance on the diagram is marked on the left with the inscription “Under.1”. To the left of this inscription is the exit from the Komsomolskaya metro station.

To get to the long-distance ticket office, you need to climb the steps into the building and walk a little forward. On the left and right there will be glass doors to two ticket halls. To get to long-distance trains (in the diagram above on the right they are marked with long black and white stripes with odd numbering), you should go straight all the time, without turning anywhere. At the very end of the building there is an exit to the platform. If you need to use the luggage storage, you should turn right when exiting the trains. As you can see, the map of the Leningradsky station is not too complicated; you can quickly find your way around.

The commuter service in the diagram above is marked on the right with even numbered tracks (black and white short stripes). You can get to them using the exit from the Komsomolskaya metro station, that is, from the street.

Where can I get there?

Leningradsky Station in Moscow is available for travel to the following cities:

  • Saint Petersburg;
  • Murmansk;
  • Pskov;
  • Arkhangelsk;
  • Tallinn;
  • Helsinki.

When traveling to St. Petersburg, you can purchase tickets for the famous branded train “Red Arrow” and “Sapsan”.

How to get there?

Now it’s worth talking about how to get to the Leningradsky station. If you use the metro, you need to focus on the Komsomolskaya-Koltsevaya station.

Let the map of the Leningradsky Station and some small recommendations help every reader have a successful trip!

15.08.2017 In order not to be late for long-distance trains and electric trains, you need to know where to go

In connection with the renovation of the Moskovsky station, the route to the trains there has again changed. To prevent this from happening to other Nizhny Novgorod residents, a correspondent for the website portal examined the passage routes.

After the site talked about it, the head of the Gorky Railway, Anatoly Lesun, personally visited the station to check. And, apparently, he “made some noise.”

The next day, a correspondent for the website portal saw a huge number of employees of the State Railway and transport police on the territory of the station. Almost everyone readily told us how to get to the platforms, ticket offices, and waiting rooms. From the speakers every two minutes there were messages about trains and the possibility of access to them.

We tell people where to go all the time, although this is not our responsibility,” complained one of the employees. - We have other responsibilities.

One tunnel!

The most important thing you need to know. Now access to the platforms is closed, both from the tunnel that connects the Moscow Highway with Revolution Square, and from the tunnel on the Kirov side. This is due to the fact that elevator shafts are being built on the second and third platforms for passengers with limited mobility.

Access to all electric trains and trains, except for the Swift, is possible ONLY through the tunnel, which goes to the suburban ticket offices.

This tunnel is also open from the Moscow highway through the suburban station building.

Ticket offices and waiting areas

There are now two waiting rooms open. One is located in the building of suburban ticket offices on the side of the Moskovsky railway station, the second is in the building of the service center. In both you can wait for both long-distance trains and commuter trains. For the summer period, a canopy was also built at the Service Center. There are benches here where you can hide from the sun and rain.

Exit to Swift, three options

Typically, the Swift departs from platform 1A, which was specially built for the duration of repairs. You can access it through the Service Center, through the checkpoint to the existing tunnel and through an additional terminal, which is attached to the station building from the side of the Royal Pavilion.

It is worth keeping in mind that from the Moscow highway you will have to go through the tunnel, go up, and go to the platform through the Service Center.

However, according to station workers, sometimes the Swift's departure is scheduled from the third platform. You can get on it, accordingly, like all other trains.

How to get to Lastochka

These trains, as usual, depart from the sixth, high platform. You can get to it by going through the tunnel and the checkpoint to the platform. According to a strange logic, passengers boarding the Lastochka have to go through metal detectors and check the contents of their luggage twice - at the entrance to the tunnel or Suburban Station and in front of the platform itself.

This is precisely what did not give Elena Erysheva those few minutes to catch the train on that ill-fated day.

I would have made it in time if it weren’t for the terribly slow conveyor belt in these devices,” recalls Elena. - After all the running around the station, there were still a few minutes left. But the luggage check was very delayed.

Help for people with limited mobility. That's what they say

One of the station managers told how to get help for people with limited mobility.

There is a window in the Service Center building in which the assistant station manager is on duty, an employee of the State Railways told the site’s correspondent. - In order for our employees to meet and escort a person in a wheelchair or with other difficulties, you need to contact him. We have both the people who will do this and the means of transportation. And after reconstruction, special elevators will operate on platforms 2 and 3. They are now building mines on platforms for them.

The head of the corporate communications service of the State Railway, Natalya Vorozhtsova, told the site’s correspondent that after the inspection of the station, the management agreed that informing passengers was not fully organized.

She said that additional information boards will be placed in and around the station in the near future. And she even promised that arrows would be drawn on the asphalt from all public transport stops indicating routes to different trains.

The blockade of Moscow train stations is gaining momentum May 23rd, 2017

Yesterday's entrance to the metro from the platforms of the Kursk station provoked a portal to hell with stormy comments that opened up this problem in a broader format. It turns out that JSC Russian Railways, together with the Directorate of Railway Stations, decided to organize a massive fencing and blockade of most of Moscow's train stations. Most likely, hands will reach all stations, it’s just that workers have not yet come to some facilities. Yesterday evening an inspection tour of Moscow railway stations was carried out and the results were shocking. But first things first.

Leningrad Station. Here, the commuter carrier represented by the Moscow-Tver Suburban Passenger Company turned out to be more talkative and explained to its passengers that all the upcoming inconveniences and overlaps are related to the upcoming Confederation Cup. It is not very clear how the presence of a through passage from the suburban area to the platforms of long-distance trains affects the safety of Cup guests, however, based on the announcement, this passage will soon be closed. Fortunately, it's temporary. There is no such registration on other objects.

A mighty section of fence that will soon block the passage from commuter trains to long-distance trains.

If previously a resident of Khimki who arrived on a Sapsan from St. Petersburg could simply move to the next platform to go home by train, now this route across the street will be five times longer.

Yaroslavsky railway station.
It has not yet been possible to unambiguously unravel the intent of the pests. However, the station is surrounded by a fence. It looks like it will be possible to exit the city from long-distance platforms only by passing through the station building. Of course, with inspection.

Kyiv railway station. Here the struggle for security reached its maximum. Firstly, preparations are in full swing to close the passage from the turnstiles of commuter trains into the city, to the station square. Here we are greeted by the same fence as earlier at the Kursky station. Just think about this madness! They are closing the exit from commuter trains to the city! What nonsense!

If this entrance is really blocked, then the entire crowd from the trains will rush straight into the metro lobby without any alternative. And only from there will it be possible to go out into the city. The meaning of such a decision is completely unclear. After all, one of the tasks of the “fighters” is to increase security. But what kind of security is there if a crowd of people is deliberately sent to another congested place, and with absolutely no alternative options!

Here they have also already managed to close the exit from suburban platforms to long-distance trains. True, not with a branded fence, but with fences made from improvised means.

But the biggest shock is already experienced by passengers on long-distance trains. The direct and convenient passage from the trains to the car and taxi stand on the station square is also closed!

Now all that remains is to either walk through the station building, where again there is a queue for everyone to enter, or go down the pedestrian tunnel and end up again in the same lobby where train passengers have already been herded.

Considering that people on our long-distance trains clearly do not travel lightly, but with a lot of bags and luggage, then forcing them to circle around through security checks and stairs, instead of direct and convenient access to those greeting them, is simply a crime!

Well, let's complete our inspection at Paveletsky railway station. Here they did not forcefully separate the flows of long-distance and commuter passengers, however, inspection zones have now been installed at absolutely all entrances to the station from the platforms.

This means that in addition to the traditional crowd at the turnstiles, there will now be a crowd with security checks for passengers on commuter trains. This is what it looked like last night at Kursky Station. Video by Alexander Tugunov.

Again. It is completely incomprehensible why passengers who have already arrived should be searched en masse. And so persistently, namely passengers of long-distance trains. In some places, passengers of electric trains also came under attack if they use common platform tracks. The author of this initiative is still unknown. As far as I know, no one warned the Department of Transport about such concern for passengers. Not surprisingly, Russian Railways is like a separate country. But if we really assume that the Confederations Cup is just a rehearsal for the World Cup, then we can only assume that in a year, for safety reasons, the stations will simply be surrounded by concrete fences, and long-distance trains will be canceled altogether. Why not an option? After all, to increase safety!

But jokes aside, tens of thousands of passengers passing through Moscow stations are already experiencing massive inconvenience every day on their way to work and back. It is possible that other stations have not yet managed to implement something similar, but this is already in the plans. Now no one can say anything definitely. No official has yet commented on the current situation. Waiting for an answer.

P.s. Just in case, I’ll write that we’re all here not just to grumble, we’re for safety and all that. It just shouldn’t be formal with queues, which are even more attractive to terrorists, but with real measures.

Because this is not easy for everyone. Many remain “dummies” even after five trips, because the “figure it out on the spot” method is not for them. It is better for them to have clear and understandable ready-made diagrams.

Buying a ticket

You can buy a ticket at the ticket office of the station of the desired direction, at the terminal in the station and via the Internet. Each method has its own advantages and disadvantages. In any case, you should register on the Russian Railways website and also buy tickets in advance: firstly, before the cheaper ones are sold out, and secondly, if two months in advance, then the tickets themselves are cheaper.

If you are wealthy enough not to think about the price of tickets, find yourself a student for 500 rubles who will help you sort out the tickets and save yourself some nerves.

The good thing about the Russian Railways website is that, no matter where you buy tickets, you can quickly see which trains and which seats are on them, this will reduce the annoying fuss at the ticket office or at the terminal.

Buying through the website is a little more expensive and you have to pay with a bank card, but you won’t have to be nervous about the crowd behind you and from trying to formulate what you need.

At the terminal, payment is also made by card, and there will probably be a queue at it, too, but you won’t have to talk to anyone, just press buttons.

Everything is probably clear with the cash register. There you can pay in cash or by card, the cashier answers any questions related to tickets, the main thing is to tell you on what date and in what direction you need trains.

The site also allows you to keep track of promotions and discounts that usually occur on Tuesdays. Don’t be lazy to look at the corresponding menu; saving money is always nice for you.

When looking at the train schedule, remember that the day begins at midnight and ends at midnight. Sometimes it may seem that there are no tickets for the desired evening, but you should set the next day as the date, and you will find out that at 00.05 at night there is just a place on the train in the desired direction.

Also remember that Russian Railways time in any part of Russia is identical to Moscow time, and according to the schedule, the midnight train in your city can depart at four in the morning local time.

Some e-tickets must be printed at terminals. Look at the png or pdf file that is attached to the description of your ticket.

Remember that the ticket must be for the document that you will 100% take on the trip. There have been cases when they bought a ticket with a regular passport, but tried to board using a foreign passport.

By the way, with a ticket, including a printed one, you can visit the toilet at the station for free in the last hour before the train departs and within an hour after arrival.

Selecting a location

Most passengers travel in regular compartments, in reserved seat carriages or in seats. The first is more expensive than the second, as for the third, it all depends on the train. Seats on express trains like Sapsan are very expensive, but they get there in about four hours: in the morning you sit down, in the afternoon you sit there.

There will be no more than three adults in your compartment (although there may be a couple of preschoolers in addition to them), but it is impossible to guess what kind of adults they will be and how unsafe it will be to be in the same room with them. Sometimes you’re lucky and you’re riding in the compartment all alone.

In a reserved seat carriage, the most secluded places are the sides, especially the top ones. According to the rules of politeness, you will have to let your upstairs neighbors into the lower rooms before lights out and after getting up. But in order to feel comfortable on the top shelf, a certain dexterity and small dimensions are required. However, tall people often also prefer the top shelves, so that when they lie, people notice their feet in the aisle, rather than bumping into them.

The cheapest places, of course, are near the toilet, but people start jostling there from time to time and the door keeps slamming in your ear. And sometimes the smells waft.

In a seated carriage, sometimes it is possible to lie across two seats, but don’t really hope for it. And traveling in it will be a real torture if you have problems with the spine.

Sometimes you can buy tickets for express trains or luxury trains at the price of reserved seats. These trains have plenty of sockets, you can watch movies on TV, sometimes they give you lunch and there may be coffee machines.

Oh yes, take night tickets with linen, otherwise you will have to buy more on the spot.

Collecting things

Changing clothes on trains is very inconvenient. What replaces your pajamas can be worn under regular clothes. Some people find it easier to sleep without changing clothes, especially if a shower is available on site shortly after arrival.

Bring an extra sheet or a large scarf if you want to curtain your space and feel more private.

Traveling in a seated carriage will be made easier by an inflatable travel pillow and something that can be slipped under the lower back. A thin, compactly folded blanket will also make travel more comfortable.

In winter, it may make sense to take slippers with you so that you can go to the toilet without having to step into your boots every time. Disposable or plastic ones that can be washed are best. Take a bag too, so you can pack the slippers instead of putting them with clean things.

Wet wipes or a combination of a bottle of water and a towel (if you took a ticket with underwear, the towel is included) will help you get yourself tidy in the morning quickly, without waiting in line for the toilet. In addition, it can be stuffy on the top shelves; if you wipe your face and neck, it will be easier.

In a hot summer, in a carriage without air conditioning, a simple cheap fan from a kiosk can save you. It weighs virtually nothing and takes up no space.

Handkerchiefs can also be very useful. Not only for its intended purpose, but also to, for example, quickly wipe up spills on the table or on yourself.

There are people who prefer to sleep in a light hoodie in case the air conditioning gets too loud. It’s worth taking socks with you, even if you’re going on the hottest day. It may be colder in the evening.

A power bank and headphones are a great idea. And also a notepad and pen.

A bottle or two of drinking water, always small. A familiar food if you want to save money or are afraid of being forced to choose between cookies and chips.

Don't forget about your toothbrush and toothpaste. Even if you are disdainful of brushing your teeth in the train toilet, but the trip will not last more than a day, you can brush your teeth in a cafe on site, for example, it is usually cleaner there.

Comb, spare hair ties. In general, try to think about what small things you need to achieve comfort and get yourself in order.

Analgesic, antihistamine, adhesive plaster, hydrogen peroxide and anti-diarrhea are true friends of the traveler.

And, of course, don’t forget your passport and insurance policy.

Packing things

The number of things should be such that you can carry them yourself, even if you are sure that they will put you here and meet you there.

It is better to pack clothes by rolling them up in tight rolls, rather than folding them like in a closet. By the way, it wrinkles less in rolls.

What you will take out on the train, put it on top of your suitcase or backpack, or even better, in a separate small bag. Inside the bag, it is best to distribute things into several different-looking voluminous cosmetic bags. This will also be convenient for men; cosmetic bags can be very neutral in appearance.

Boarding the train

The ticket, electronic or regular, indicates the carriage and train number. In the station building, at the exit to the trains, there is a board; on the part of it that is dedicated to departing trains, opposite your train number there will be a platform number. If not yet, then the train hasn’t arrived yet.

If your eyesight and speech understanding are deteriorating due to excitement, take a photo of the arrival board on your smartphone and look at the necessary information by zooming in on the picture on your screen.

The carriage number is most often indicated on a sign in the carriage window closest to one of the doors.

Try to arrive at the train no later than 10 minutes before it departs. There are no trains waiting.

If you have a paper ticket in your hands, and the train is about to leave, do not run to your carriage, ask the conductor closest to you to let you in, and then go to the desired carriage inside the train. This is almost always possible.

When approaching your carriage, prepare your passport and ticket in advance (if it is not electronic).

The top places have even numbers.

Having walked to your place, sit quietly and sit until everyone has entered, otherwise you will disturb people or have to twitch all the time. If, of course, you have a bulky suitcase, you should put it away immediately. If your seat is up and you don’t know how to lower it, find someone nearby who has successfully lowered theirs and ask permission to sit there for now.

It will be more convenient for you to navigate if you look at the map of the carriage on the Internet in advance and understand where your place is approximately: near the toilet, near the conductor or in the middle.

Small signs with seat numbers are located either to the left of the compartment doors, or on the partitions in the reserved seat car near the lower seats. In seated carriages they can be near the luggage racks or on the backs of the seats.

You can try to lower your shelf yourself if it is up. The top shelf in the reserved seat is held in place by small metal things sticking out of the wall. If you gently press on one, it folds and the shelf can move past it. In a compartment, the lower bunk is supported by a folded ladder near the door; Holding the edge of the seat, fold the ladder and carefully lower the seat into place.

The lower side seat in a reserved seat carriage consists of a folding table and two chairs. To turn a table into a bed by attaching it to chairs, lift the edge of the table and move it towards the window, then turn it over with the soft side up. To turn the middle of the bed back into a table, hook the soft tongue near the wall and lift the table by it, turn it over with the hard side up and try to get the edge that is near the window into the special latches.

Unfolding things

If you don’t have anything particularly heavy with you, then usually the passengers in the lower seats take up the space under their seat with their luggage, and those in the upper seats take up the luggage racks (there are also blankets there). If you have a heavy suitcase, you shouldn't carry it upstairs anyway. If the space under the bottom seat is already occupied by a neighbor, ask permission to put the suitcase under the seat of the neighbor opposite.

Shoes are left under the lower seat so that they do not interfere with the neighbor and do not stick out into the aisle.

A shelf in the head or above the middle of your place is very convenient for storing small things, but you should refrain if you know that you might forget something in a hurry or are generally an absent-minded person. Glasses, combs, smartphones and cosmetic bags are constantly being raked out of these shelves at the depot.

Immediately distribute the bags that you don’t intend to get into into their places, and fold them so that it would be inconvenient to get inside without pulling out the bag. First, hang the purse with what you will take out during the trip on a hook, then you can put it behind the pillow when you make the bed. Hang your outerwear on the same hook and do not leave anything valuable in your pockets.

Bed

Usually on the top place there are two mattresses rolled up around pillows and two bags of linen, and on the shelves for things near the ceiling there are blankets.

If you intend to lie down immediately (but, by the way, wait until the conductor checks everyone’s tickets), then take one of the mattresses down. If you are traveling in an upper seat, in a reserved seat carriage on the side, place it upright on one of the seats in the lower seat; otherwise, place it flat. Move your mattress to the end of the bed so that it is convenient for you to roll it out, as if unrolling a pillow. The mattress roller in its original position lies on its edge, with this edge turned towards the wall. Before you roll it out, if it's on the top bunk, find an iron bracket on the edge of the bed and hold it upright. She will hold the mattress so that it does not move and fall down with you.

Open your underwear set. Immediately find and place a towel on the shelf in your head, take out a pillowcase and put it on the pillow. You will be left with a sheet and a duvet cover or two sheets. You carefully lay one out on the mattress, tucking it in first from the outside, then from the inside. If you are in a high place, it will be more convenient to tuck in the far edge once you have already climbed to the top. You straighten the second one on top and put a blanket on it if necessary. If you don't feel comfortable with the hassle of stuffing it into the duvet cover, then you don't have to.

If the laundry in the bag turns out to be wet (this is very rare), go to the conductor or, if there is no neighbor, open another bag.

If your upstairs or downstairs neighbor started making the bed before you, don’t jostle with him, but wait until he’s finished. According to the rules of politeness, the one who rides on top goes first, but not everyone knows this.

To climb into bed in the upper place, the compartment has special small ladders for the feet and a bracket on top for grabbing with your hand. In the reserved seat at the top there is also a bracket, by the window, and you have to climb up tiny iron steps on both sides of the passage through the carriage.

Food and drink

It is most expensive to buy them at the station, a little cheaper - on the train itself. Experienced travelers take lunchboxes with ready-made food, preferably food that is difficult to scatter throughout the carriage, such as sandwiches and whole vegetables. It would be nice if the food didn't get too dirty. It is better to take drinks in small bottles; a large one may be inconvenient to handle, especially in the upper place. If you are afraid of spilling tea from a regular glass, but would like to drink something hot on the train, take a thermal mug.

Boiling water is free, it doesn’t matter if you bought something from the conductor. These are the rules of Russian Railways!

An expensive ticket may (or may not) include lunch or breakfast. At Sapsan, food is sold from carts that conductors carry around the carriages, and this, of course, is not cheap. Most regular trains have a dining car; you can ask the conductor about its availability and location. In addition, you can buy coffee from a bag, tea from a bag, instant noodles and various kinds of snacks from the guides themselves. On double-decker trains, coffee and snacks can be purchased from a vending machine on the ground floor.

If the conductor did not pour you tea himself, but only gave you a glass and a bag, you can ask him to pour boiling water, usually they don’t refuse, or try to find the tap on a large iron thing with boiling water inside - if you see one, you will immediately recognize it without additional descriptions.

By the way, if you are embarrassed to talk to the conductor, write him questions on a piece of paper. Don't be afraid to look strange, he will decide that you either have laryngitis or are mute. What difference does it make to him, in the end, in what form he receives the question - he will answer anyway.

Sometimes the train makes long stops at intermediate stations. They are usually indicated in the individual train schedule on the website or on a sign near the conductor's door. You can go out there and buy hot food. The main thing is to keep track of time and return on time.

Toilet

Toilets are usually located on both sides of the carriage, if only one - you can sort it out on the spot.

The best toilets are in Sapsan and similar new express trains; in second-class and simple seated carriages there is a choice of two types: a dry toilet or a toilet with a hole into the street. There will be an iron toilet here and there. The difference will be that you cannot throw used paper into the first one and flushing is done with a special button, and in the second one - with a pedal, which is easy to find with your foot to the right of the toilet near the floor. You need to apply pressure with the sole on the very edge, this will wash off better.

Don’t try to go to the toilet without shoes, you’ll open the door and realize that you have to run back to put on your shoes. Be sure to take your purse with you to the toilet, in which you have your passport, wallet and devices. Theft doesn't happen as often as people fear, but it's not worth playing this lottery.

It is almost always cold in the toilet, except on very warm summer days. The toilet seat won't go down, don't try. You can try standing on an old-style toilet with your feet if you are confident in your sense of balance - there are even special extensions for the soles. But it’s better to look around to see if there are disposable paper seats in the booth. It’s better to apply two or three at once, then it will be more or less comfortable.

If there are no disposable seats, unwind strips of toilet paper, carefully place them on the toilet seat and try not to brush them away when you sit down. But in general, you can buy seats in advance and take a dozen with you.

To wash your hands, you usually need to press down on the washbasin faucet.

In the case of a composting toilet, you may find that the trash can is so full that you are afraid to add your own to it. Tear off more paper towels (hanging on the wall), throw them on top of the garbage, and now you won’t be afraid to crush them.

It is much more hygienic to wipe your hands with wet wipes than to use the sink in the train toilet.

Feel free to use an air freshener if there is one in the toilet.

If the toilet is an old type, then it is closed 40 minutes before the stop. They also open 40 minutes after parking. If you are traveling at night, it’s better not to wait for the morning, but get up in the middle of the night and go to the restroom, otherwise in the morning you may stand in a long line and discover that you did it in vain.

Conductor

You can turn to a guide for more than just a cup of tea and a bag of chips. If someone needs an ambulance, this is also for him. If you find an ownerless bag and no one in the carriage recognizes it, also go to the conductor, and, by the way, try not to touch the bag from the very beginning. You can buy disposable slippers from the conductors if you didn’t bring them with you, and complain to them that you’ve run out of toilet paper. Double-decker trains have a paid shower; to use it, you also have to go to the conductor. But keep in mind that in the early morning the guides are asleep and it is difficult to reach them.

The conductor will wake you up half an hour before arrival.

The conductors' room is located not far from the door through which you boarded the train.

Electrical appliances

If you can't afford to take your laptop with you, don't. Various types of gadgets are stolen on trains more often than wallets. But a charged power bank will never be superfluous.

It is better to keep your phone and anything small and valuable under your pillow when you sleep.

If you are thinking of using an alarm clock, set a signal in advance that you will definitely react to and that will not wake up half the car.

For the most part, there is no connection or internet between cities; it makes sense to put the phone in airplane mode so that it doesn’t run out of battery in vain.

Sockets in reserved seats and seated carriages are usually located in the toilet (it is impolite to use so as not to delay people), near the toilet, near the conductor's door. Sometimes they are still near the places. In compartment cars there are sockets in the corridor, and there are folding seats next to them. In more expensive seated carriages, sockets can be found at each seat.

If you want to watch a movie on your phone or tablet, don’t forget to take headphones so as not to disturb anyone or attract attention - out of boredom on trains, many people try to start a conversation, and any reason can be considered suitable.

Arrival

20 minutes before arrival, make sure all your belongings are collected. You should be fully dressed 5 minutes before the stop. If you were traveling in a seated carriage, try to check if something fell under your seat.

If you are traveling in a reserved seat carriage, remove your linen from the bed and take it to the conductor. Don't forget a towel.

If you don’t like jostling, if you feel clumsy or unsure in a crowd, wait until those who are further from the door than you come out.

Watch your step when you go out. Sometimes there is a big chance of falling into the gap between the train and the platform and you need to step wider.

You may need the cafe, toilet or luggage room at the station to move on refreshed, invigorated by coffee and light. It’s usually not difficult to use a storage locker; the automatic ones have instructions; in a regular one, the employee will explain everything to you. Make sure that your purse with what you need remains with you; you don’t need to hand it over to the cell either.

That's basically it. Happy travels!

Kursky Station serves trains departing eastward to Nizhny Novgorod and southward to Kursk and Belgorod, Kerch and Mariupol, Simferopol and Kharkov, Kislovodsk and Adler, Novy Urengoy and other cities. Transit trains traveling from North to South and the high-speed Sapsan train between St. Petersburg and Nizhny Novgorod, for which a special high platform is allocated, also stop here.
