How will the metro and MCC work on Christmas night?

On New Year's Eve commuter trains carried out their activities until 2 am, and the metro worked around the clock, providing the opportunity for convenient movement throughout Moscow. The MCC, as well as 59 routes developed for ground transport, were able to transport people throughout New Year's Eve.

Christmas Eve is approaching, and its leaders also made adjustments to the metro operating hours in 2019, allowing for unhindered movement throughout the capital. During the period from January 6 to 7, the metro will be able to transport passengers until 2 a.m., which will allow interested citizens to move freely throughout Moscow without experiencing certain inconveniences. The modified schedule is needed to allow travel to key temples and sites.

It is worth paying attention to the fact that adjustments have also been made to the schedule of the Moscow Central Circle, allowing you to use it until 2 a.m. on Christmas night.

Ground transport operating hours

Christmas is a fairly serious holiday, especially revered by all Orthodox residents of Russia. Taking this into account, authorized persons who are involved in determining schedules for ground work public transport, prepared 163 routes. Thanks to their implementation, public transport will be able to transport citizens throughout Moscow until 3 am.

Some buses with lower passenger traffic, which travel on 11 routes in the capital, will continue to operate according to the usual schedule established for non-holidays. The websites of Mosgortrans and the Moscow Metro allow you to track all the changes that await citizens on Christmas Eve and adjust your planned route.

Approaching new year holidays will make significant changes to the operation of the capital's transport. On New Year's and Christmas nights, the operating hours of the metro and main ground transport routes will be extended. In addition, Magistral network lines will operate in a reduced format for several days.

"Magistral" on vacation: walking "Journey to Christmas"

Part of the main routes of the reformed route network ground transport in the center of Moscow "Magistral" from December 29, 2017 to January 3, 2018 will operate according to a special scheme. For mass events sections of Tverskaya Street, Varvarka Street, Teatralny Proezd, Okhotny Ryad are blocked. Some of the Magistral bus routes will be shortened, and some of them will be combined. As a result, temporary direct connections are formed that are absent in normal times - Kutuzovsky Prospekt with Luzhniki and Leninsky Prospekt.

Due to the Journey to Christmas festival, ground public transport routes in the city center are changing from December 29, 2017 to January 3, 2018.

  • bus route "A" from the side of the Luzhniki stadium it is shortened to the Kropotkinskaya metro station, traffic to Komsomolskaya Square cancelled;
  • bus route No. m1 No. m27 "m1+m27") - from Kravchenko Street to the Lenin Library metro station follows the same route, then instead of the Hospital, the MPS goes along Vozdvizhenka and Novy Arbat streets and Kutuzovsky Prospekt to the metro station "Park Pobedy";
  • bus route No. m2 temporarily merged with a route section No. m3(will work with the notation "m2+m3") – from the “Fili” stop to the “Lenin Library” metro station follows its own route, then along the route route No. m3 to the Luzhniki stadium;
  • bus route No. m3 No. m3"metro station "Semyonovskaya" - metro station "Lubyanka"" and "m2+m3"“Luzhniki Stadium – Fili”;
  • bus route No. m27 is divided into two routes: No. m27"Karacharovsky overpass - metro station "Lubyanka"" and "m1+m27"“Park Pobedy metro station – st. Kravchenko";
  • bus route № 15 from the side of VDNKh (south) it is shortened to Strastnoy Boulevard instead of the Luzhniki Stadium.
  • bus route No. m6 when traveling to the Nagatinskaya metro station on the section from Nikitskiye Vorota to Borovitskaya Square. instead of B. Nikitskaya St. and Mokhovaya st. heading along Nikitsky Blvd. and st. Znamenka; back on the section from the metro station “Biblioteka im. Lenina" to the Barrikadnaya metro station instead of part of Mokhovaya Street. and B. Nikitskaya st. heading down the street Vozdvizhenka, Novy Arbat and Novinsky Blvd. to Borovitskaya Square, then follow your own route;
  • bus route No. m10 from the side of Lobnenskaya Street it will follow instead of the Kitay-Gorod metro station to the Mayakovskaya metro station with a turn through Oruzheyny Lane. and Sadovaya-Triumfalnaya street.
  • bus route № 101 from the side of the Sports Palace, Megasport is shortened to Tverskaya Zastava instead of the Kitay-Gorod metro station;
  • bus route № 144 from the metro " Teply Stan» shortened to the Udarnik cinema instead of the Kitay-Gorod metro station;
  • bus route № 904 from the 4th microdistrict, Mitina is shortened to Tverskaya Zastava instead of the Kitay-Gorod metro station (follows the route No. 904k).

For five nights in a row, starting from the night of December 29 to 30 and ending on the night of January 2 to 3, the routes of night bus routes change:

  • No. H1– will work at two sites: “Ozernaya st. – cinema "Udarnik" and "Sheremetyevo Airport - Tverskaya Zastava";
  • No. H2– from Belovezhskaya Street it is shortened to the Lenin Library metro station instead of the Kitay-Gorod metro station with a turn through Znamenka, Mokhovaya and Vozdvizhenka streets.

It is unknown what prevented (similar to the temporary consolidation of cuttings of “main” routes) from directing the route No. H1 to bypass blocked areas, for example, along Garden Ring, leaving an inextricable connection between Leningradsky and Leninsky prospects.

  • No. m5– from the side of Nagorny Boulevard it is shortened to Balchug Street instead of the Lubyanka metro station;
  • № 38 – from the side of Rizhsky Station it is shortened to the Trubnaya metro station instead of the Kitay-Gorod metro station;
  • № 158 – from the 3rd Paveletsky passage it is shortened to Balchug street instead of the Lubyanka metro station.

Note that the route № 158 Opens for the first time on New Year's Eve. Last year the route flights were assigned № 632 , and before that the route’s operating hours were extended № 13 – all of them serve the Paveletsky passages area. But instead of bypassing the blocked section of Varvarki Street along the Bolshaya Ustinsky Bridge and Solyanka Street, transport workers chose to simply shorten the route to a less popular stop.

Last year, traffic in the city center was blocked for public festivities only from 19-20 pm on December 31 until the morning of January 1, so changes in the Magistral routes were much more short-term.

To the Christmas tree - by bus

To transport spectators to New Year's performances on the territory of the Luzhniki Stadium, a special bus route has been organized from December 22, 2017 to January 14, 2018 "L"“Metro station “Sportivnaya” - State Central Concert Hall “Rossiya”” with an intermediate stop “Circus of the Zapashny Brothers”.

The route will operate during concert hours, providing transportation of spectators “there” and “back” at short intervals “according to capacity”:

  • December 22 and January 12 – from 17:00 to 22:00;
  • December 23, 24, 29, 30, January 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 13 – from 9:00 to 22:00;
  • December 25, 26, 27, 28 – from 13:00 to 22:00;
  • December 31 and January 14 – from 9:00 to 18:00;
  • January 1 – from 10:00 to 22:00.

Unlike the last few years, the route has been rerouted. Boarding at the Sportivnaya metro station takes place at the northern vestibule on 10 Letiya Oktyabrya Street, since the southern one is closed for repairs until May 2018. Buses from the metro go along 10 Letiya Oktyabrya Street, Luzhnetsky Proezd and Luzhniki Street, and back along Luzhniki Street. , Novoluzhnetsky proezd, side proezd Komsomolsky prospekt, st. Khamovnichesky Val, st. Efremova, st. 10th anniversary of October.

The stops for boarding and disembarking, traditional for previous seasons, at the Central Overpass on the side of the Luzhniki Stadium are absent this year. Therefore, this year the route has become useless for passengers arriving in Luzhniki through the MCC station of the same name: the path from it to the bus stop near the metro is comparable to the distance to the performance venues.

In addition, from January 1, the procedure for entering buses will be changed - boarding will be possible at all doors, and the turnstiles will be turned off. Considering that some of them will operate throughout New Year's Eve, the question remains at what hour boarding the buses will begin according to the new rules.

So, on New Year’s Eve there were simply enchanting festivities in the capital, and therefore almost all transport worked “without interruptions.” Even commuter trains operated until two o'clock in the morning; in addition, they served passengers of the metro, MCC and fifty-nine ground transport routes around the clock.

However, what awaits Muscovites during the Christmas holidays? Let's figure it out.

As you know, on December 22, the large-scale project “Journey to Christmas” was launched - one of the most beloved festivals of the year by Muscovites and guests of the city. It will continue until January 14th, and getting to the venue of the event, which this year is dedicated to a theatrical theme, will not be difficult: the public transport schedule has been “adjusted” to the needs of passengers.

On Christmas Eve, as well as on New Year's Eve, Muscovites will have convenient access to venues for various events and churches: the Moscow Central Circle, for example, will be open until two o'clock in the morning.

The city authorities have also prepared ground transport, that is, buses, trolleybuses and trams, for Christmas Eve: one hundred and sixty-three routes will operate until three o’clock in the morning. Eleven city routes, in turn, will transport passengers on Christmas Eve according to the usual schedule.

It is worth remembering that the traffic interval on holidays will be about twenty-five minutes. If there are changes in the schedule, they can be tracked on the website (SUE Mosgortrans).

Suburban trains, as already mentioned, will run until two o'clock in the morning - this schedule will continue from December twenty-ninth to January eighth.

From the thirtieth to the seventh of January, trains operate on a Saturday schedule, on the eighth - on a Sunday schedule. Already on January 9, suburban transport will run according to its usual schedule.

Detailed operating schedules for suburban transport can also be found on the official website. Aeroexpress trains will continue to operate without changes.

In addition, good news for drivers: until January 8th they will have free parking on the streets of Moscow. Vehicle It will be possible to park in street parking lots included in the Moscow parking zone.

However, flat parking lots with barriers will operate at the same rates that were in effect before - there are about eighty of them in total, and they operate around the clock. Prices can be viewed at special stands at the entrances.

Transport on Christmas night

Let us remind you that from the sixth to the seventh of January the metro and MCC are open until two in the morning, and many land routes- up to three.
