For our holiday in Aqaba, we chose the city hotel of the Moevenpick chain, which also has a hotel in the city. But regardless of which one you live in, you can visit the beaches in both places. This is a big plus, because... There is an excellent transfer between them. We liked everything about the hotel: the room and the area. The territory has a lot of different decor and greenery, the rooms are clean, cozy and very beautiful. Our room had a kitchen, two bedrooms and a living room. We had two balconies and another plus to all this - a panoramic window. The supplies in the refrigerator were replenished regularly, everything was always fresh and tasty. The beach is very close - across the road, and the path to it lies through an incredibly beautiful garden. There is a restaurant right on the shore, which is also part of the hotel. Not only does the food taste delicious, but it also offers stunning views.

I have long wanted to visit Jordan, it was very interesting to see Petra, plunge into the Red and Dead Seas, and now the dream has come true! I went with a friend in November 2017 and, in my opinion, the weather was just right for a vacation: at first it seemed cool (approximately +25 degrees), but for me it was ideal, since there was no crazy heat. I’ll say right away that the country is safe, we went shopping and just walked around Aqaba in the evenings, everything was calm. The hotel was chosen as one of the best - five stars. Our room had a balcony (this privilege is only available on the fourth, fifth and sixth floors, please keep this in mind when booking). The room is well equipped, everything is conveniently arranged. There is a kettle, tea, coffee and sugar. The bathroom had a full set of hygiene products, although they were not replenished every day, but cleaning was done daily. The hotel has a swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna (entrance to the sauna is only with a room key card). The hotel has a small private beach in a small bay, protected from the wind, the entrance to the sea is convenient, the water is very salty, holds well, you can swim for a long time without getting tired. There are sun loungers on the beach, there are a sufficient number of them, there are enough free ones for everyone! We only ordered breakfast and dinner for meals, and it’s good that we didn’t overpay, that was enough for us! Everything is very tasty, we were satisfied with the restaurant’s cuisine! We also bought two excursions with lunch included, and we saw everything we wanted! Wonderful country, great hotel, unforgettable vacation! I want to visit here again and I highly recommend Movenpick Resort & Residences.

I visited Aqaba for the first time. The hotel is very well located in the city center on the first line. The staff was friendly, they checked me in quickly and gave me a bright, clean room with a balcony. The room has a TV with satellite channels and a tea set. The hotel has its own beach, it is very clean. It is cleaned regularly. To get to the beach you need to walk 500 meters, part of the way along a land crossing. There is a lot available on the beach water activities: attractions, diving, snorkeling. The hotel area is very beautiful and green. Eat open pool with comfortable water temperature. There is a children's club where entertaining events and exciting shows are constantly organized for children. This hotel is more suitable for couples who prefer a quiet and relaxing holiday. For young people in the city there is entertainment only in the center. At the reception you can book an excursion to the gorge. The hotel has a gym equipped with modern exercise equipment. The food is very good, a large selection of dishes, you can also find food for children. There are several within walking distance from the hotel good restaurants, serving local cuisine. I felt comfortable in this quiet place. I enjoyed a break from the bustle of the city.

5* is too much for this hotel.
Stayed at this hotel together with my husband for 6 nights. To be honest, we didn’t expect a catch from such a network. We arrived late in the evening, at the reception they told us everything about the hotel in great detail English language, they gave us a map of the hotel, told us about the operating hours of everything in the hotel, they didn’t even forget about cards for towels. We were shown to our room very politely. We took a superior room. It is small, but with a balcony. Very clean, although the bathroom is a little dirty. The bathtub is very old, all shabby, with a battered faucet. But there were two soaps, shower gel and body lotion. A few days later they brought us more shampoo and hair conditioner. It turns out that there was such a thing. The door from the cabinet under the sink was not secured and kept falling out. There were two pairs of slippers, but we never saw the promised robes during our entire stay. It’s not really necessary, but since they are listed, let them be. In the room there is a thick folder with a description of the services provided at the hotel. However, many of them are simply listed on paper. The lack of our own taxi service is very disappointing. Because haggling on the streets gets boring. And taxi drivers, having learned about the hotel, immediately generously throw in money. At the reception they order a car for you, it feels like everyone is calling some taxi driver they know, and the prices vary depending on how bad each one is))) To get to the same place, they told us different prices three times.
Our stay included free drinks: Minibar, water, tea/coffee. There was even a small box of cookies upon check-in. Despite the fact that there were two of us in the room, there was only one bag of tea and one bag of coffee. Having drank them on the first evening (after casting lots to decide who would do what), we no longer observed the promised replenishment. Drinking water, however, was available regularly. The minibar was also not replenished regularly, either one juice instead of two, or cans of soda were not supplied. One day it was not replenished at all. We kept silent, this happened again the next day. We called the reception about this, they told us verbatim: “This is a compliment from the hotel and you are not entitled to it today, we will replenish it tomorrow.” For a 5* hotel this is complete nonsense.
We were spoiled in other countries with compliments on our birthday, but this hotel doesn’t have that. Although, our friends were vacationing a little further from us, at the Hilton tree hotel, and as a compliment for their birthday, instead of a standard room, they were given almost a presidential apartment.
But I was pleased with the cleaning. All the time early in the morning. Moreover, regardless of the size and general availability of tips. The first morning we left for breakfast and when we arrived, everything was perfectly cleaned. But we didn’t have time to leave a tip; we weren’t expecting cleaning at 8:00. On the second morning we got up earlier, came back from breakfast, he had cleaned everything up again and was already leaving. They quickly ran for the money and handed it to him. He was so happy. Then they left the money until breakfast.
About breakfast: a lot of vegetables, pastries, jams, eggs in all variations and even bacon (which, by the way, they don’t know how to cook there), there are dried fruits, fruits, breakfast cereals, cheeses. On the first morning it seemed like there was plenty of food, however, on the third day I caught myself thinking that I was taking the same thing, because I didn’t really feel like eating anything else. It turns out that there is a choice, but there is not much to choose from. In the morning some people were having breakfast in the hall big company, either managers, or someone even more important - I don’t know. But they were allowed to smoke in the hall. It was complete nonsense; there weren’t even ashtrays on the tables.
The beach is good, but small. If the hotel is densely populated, there will definitely not be enough space. And the flies were wildly annoying, they fly in thousands, land on you like honey, their prickly legs. And very annoying. In Israel, even at bus stops there are special bags hanging, they stick and settle in them, but in a 5* hotel they only thought of this on the last day of our stay. Well, at least others were lucky.
At the elevator there was a counter with daily news, since there weren’t many Russians, news about Russia was not posted often, but sometimes there was one.
On weekends, many locals come with their numerous wives and children - noise, din, fun, filled swimming pools. By the way, there are two heated, very decent swimming pools - this is nice.
But wi-fi is a quiet horror. Every 5 minutes you need to go to the hotel website again and enter your username and password. And the speed of the Internet is such that you can’t even check your email.
The hotel is far from 5*, but quite suitable for a 7-day stay. If you are not bothered by the disadvantages mentioned above, feel free to go there.
