Is it possible to be an Aeroflot employee at home? Flight attendant salaries. - Amazing. Thanks a lot. See you on board

The Village has obtained an anonymous letter from an Aeroflot flight attendant to Putin, which talks about discrimination against company employees based on weight, age and appearance. The letter says that some flight attendants have limited the geography of the flight to Russia and reduced the amount of working time.

We spoke with a flight attendant who has worked for Aeroflot for more than 20 years and found herself in a similar situation, and also contacted the airline for comment.

Lyudmila (name changed)

I have been working as a flight attendant at Aeroflot for more than 20 years. Strictly speaking, I am already a pensioner. Women conductors retire at 45, and men at 50, but can still work if they pass the appropriate checks. The medical commission, which decides on permission to fly, takes place every six months.

Before everything that happened, I had no idea of quitting or changing companies. I love my job and want to keep flying. I started having problems after we were photographed a while ago. In the spring of this year, I found myself in a situation where, having an American visa, permission to conduct work in English, permission to fly wide-body aircraft, I flew only around Russia for two weeks. And when working the same flight time (60–70 hours per month), a flight attendant involved only in domestic flights, I’m losing quite a lot of my salary - I didn’t receive more than 10 thousand rubles.

In general, the flight planning department should assign flights in accordance with the requirements for working hours, the flight attendant's visas (if he has a US visa, then among others they plan to fly to this country) and approvals for a particular aircraft (for example, approval for a Boeing 777). . Usually the flights are mixed: first you fly to Berlin, then to Samara, then to Washington and Novosibirsk.

I had a reasonable question: “Why was the geography of flights narrowed?” and I turned to management to understand what I had done wrong. They hinted to me that my age does not allow me to fly abroad, although not a single leader said this openly.

My case is not an isolated one. For example, one colleague wrote an open letter to President Putin directly describing the situation.

It is worth mentioning here that appearance- a specific requirement for our work. When applying for a job, a whole commission is assembled, and if the candidate is not seen in this position due to external data, then, probably, he may be refused. It is clear that they will not take a person with dreadlocks, with a tattoo on his forehead or with tunnels in his ears.

For stewards and flight attendants, there is a standard for wearing uniforms; all the nuances that relate to makeup, hairstyles, jewelry, manicure, shoes, and so on are also spelled out there. At the pre-flight briefing, the senior flight attendant ensures that this standard is met. But, of course, there are no requirements for the age and weight of the employee.

Previously, a manager could in a private conversation tell an employee who, for example, had gained excess weight, to get himself in order. But it was just a recommendation. You can lose excess weight, but when you are 47 years old, you will not become any younger in any case. It turns out that we are waste material.

Aeroflot press service

Distribution of flight attendants on flights carried out using an automatic system in accordance with approvals for aircraft types, qualifications (category, level of foreign language proficiency, availability of a foreign passport, visas, etc.), within the normal duration of flight time for a calendar month, quarter and year. The system completely eliminates the subjective factor when assigning crew members to flights.

In its personnel work, Aeroflot strictly adheres to the provisions of Russian legislation, as well as, in accordance with best international practices, the principles of an “equal opportunity employer.” This implies a categorical rejection of discrimination against employees based on external characteristics, age, gender, political and religious views.

At the same time, it should be recognized that Aeroflot places high demands on its personnel, this fully applies to the selection of flight attendants, who must meet a number of criteria. Among the main criteria are a balanced character and resistance to stress, a sense of taste and pleasant appearance, a satisfactory state of health and its compliance with established standards. This approach involves maintaining constant contact with flight attendants, including testing and screening activities, not only during hiring, but also during their employment. There is continuous control over the quality of flight attendants’ work, their psychological state, and appearance (including photography, which is a generally accepted method of personnel work for corporations around the world). Comments on appearance, manner of dressing, and ability to apply makeup can be made, and in a sensitive manner, during regularly scheduled trainings.

In accordance with the financial incentive system adopted by Aeroflot, penalties are possible for shortcomings in work. Motives of personal hostility, especially external data or the age of the employee as a justification for depriving him of part of his earnings are categorically excluded.

The press service added: that an internal investigation was conducted into the facts in the letter to Putin, which did not reveal any violations. Aeroflot flight attendants do not agree with this and, according to a source in the company, are preparing retaliatory actions.

My classmate, completely unexpectedly for everyone, became a flight attendant. What is interesting and not so obvious for passengers in the work of these beautiful, calm girls? About it stewardess Katya told the site.

I've been flying for a year now. I remember standing by the glass wall at the airport, seeing off my Love. I stood and looked at the large airplanes, like giant birds, and thought: “Or maybe I should become a flight attendant? It’s so romantic - to wear a beautiful uniform and fly in the sky..”. And then I gathered my courage and decided - I’ll go! I attended classes for two months, learned how to open an airplane door and how to properly brew coffee, stop bleeding and serve a glass of champagne. I learned not to be afraid of heights and to smile, and also to always be kind, even when there is not a moment to sit down and take a breath. You need to bring this with you on the plane, and never take it out of your bag, just like now I never take out a red apron, scarf or yellow vest. After all, in fact, it’s not at all difficult to treat well the people who fly next to you on the plane for several hours.

How not to be afraid to fly and love fish

Many passengers are afraid to fly. We have several tricks in stock for these cases. The first is a first aid kit with various sedatives. The second is much more complex and important. Even on the ground, flight attendants must create a very friendly atmosphere. In the first few seconds, passengers will understand what you are like, whether they can put pressure on you, demand extra alcohol, be capricious, and so on. They should feel like they are visiting very hospitable hosts. But still, they must understand that the owners are the crew.

At lunchtime it happens that, for example, all the chicken is eaten and only fish remains. And everyone wants chicken and swears at Aeroflot, saying that it cannot organize normal food. In this case, we use an excellent method: when the supply of chicken is already starting to run out, you simply say that today we are offering exclusive fish from the chef - everything is eaten with a bang!

Airplane nightmares

Drunk passengers - that's another song! In principle, we treat them quite loyally - first we give several warnings. Well, if it doesn’t help, we turn him in to the police immediately upon landing: the rowdy is already expected at the airport. We can sometimes scare you with a parachute :-)

There was a story recently. I was working in business class, and one of the passengers - some rather influential person - either got drunk or high on cigarettes somewhere before the flight even started. At first he behaved decently, and then suddenly he became unruly - it almost came to a fight. All the passengers are indignant, the neighbors ask to take away all the sharp objects from him. In general, we somehow got him to sit down, but we recorded the fact itself - even State Duma employees were among the witnesses. When we landed, the man was taken away by the police. How he later repented and apologized! But generally, such conflicts are resolved quite quietly - especially if the team is experienced.

As you can see, there is enough extreme in the work. And recently, for example, there was heavy rain, and lightning struck the wing of the plane. We began to shake very violently! I was sitting facing the passengers - they all looked at me in horror: “Girl, what was that?!” I try to reassure them, telling them that the plane is equipped with special protection, that everything is safe and there is no need to panic... But, of course, I was worried myself!

How personal contribution affects salary

Salaries at Aeroflot are not bad - from 40 to 90 thousand. They are made up of many factors, which together are called “personal contribution”: if there are no complaints against you, but there are thanks, if your English is A or B (we regularly take exams) - bonuses are given for all this. And, of course, it takes into account how many hours you have flown. The greater your “personal contribution”, the faster you are transferred to large planes- then you will not fly “turnarounds” (short round-trip flights), but long “relay races”, when you pay both daily allowance and travel allowance, and there is enough time for a city tour. Another career fork - you can be made a senior flight attendant or an instructor.

The average flight time per month is 80 hours. More is possible, but since this is contrary to the law on labor protection, no one is responsible for you during these extra hours - even special documents are signed for this occasion. Every six months we undergo a medical examination, every year we undergo an exam in English, service and training equipment. We use them to practice emergency rescue operations.

In addition to insurance, we are offered some special pension contributions as a social package (I can’t be more specific), discount air tickets for immediate family and incredible discounts for the employees themselves - for example, I recently flew to Germany for 3,000 rubles (compared to the usual 15,000). Plus - free sanatoriums, kindergartens, pioneer camps, holiday homes... And what I like most about our work is vacation - 72-74 days!

You won't be able to make friends with your colleagues

Our weekends are floating. Twice a week we call, find out the outfit - the schedule, when who flies. We fly almost every day. Sometimes you can get a couple of days off - that's the maximum. The rest of the weekend must be booked.

We don’t have established teams - each time we recruit a new crew. This is done so that we don’t relax, don’t chat with each other - in general, keep up the good work. Although married couples always work together.

Aeroflot flight attendants have a strict dress code. We have a uniform - red and blue. Under red you need to wear light tights, under blue - dark. And in no case is it the other way around! You must wear a badge and a scarf. No big earrings, diamonds, pretentious watches or anything else. In terms of hairstyles - a haircut or a ponytail.

Of course, I heard that constant flying can ruin your health. True, I haven’t felt this myself yet. After a year of work, I can definitely confirm only that my legs really swell very much. From the examples of my colleagues, I know that the hardest thing is to fly Airbus 330s. These are large planes, and the larger they are, the stronger the overloads during takeoff: here the board rises almost vertically. And besides, they are recruiting ABOUT greater height. Some even get nosebleeds. The hardest part of the job is working in heels for several hours in a row. There is no time to rest, constant bustle... And my eyes also hurt - the air on the plane is very dry.

Savelyev's casting

I became an instructor just three months into my career. We recently opened a “4th department”: Mr. Savelyev (General Director of Aeroflot - ed.) recruited personnel for elite flights. In total, almost three and a half thousand flight attendants took part in these “screenings” - the most beautiful ones and those with a good knowledge of English were selected. It was nice to be included in the modest list of those who passed the selection! So I will now fly with deputies and oligarchs!

Over the past year I have seen quite a lot, but what impressed me the most was the UAE - when we arrived in Dubai. We had a whole day between flights - we lay on the beach and around the city shopping centers Let's go for a walk! I also had a huge and very beautiful room! And the food was great! These are the bonuses flight attendants have!

Now I definitely won’t be able to work in the office. I have a completely different rhythm now. I'm used to working at night, and from 9 to 6 is hard labor! My schedule, environment, communication - all this is very close to me! Communication skills appear, I learn to compromise. I also like that I finish work as soon as the flight ends. I don’t have any reports that drag on for months, I don’t have any long-term responsibilities. I belong to myself: I have done my part of the work - I am free. Although there are also disadvantages - such overloads still harm your personal life a little. My beloved is jealous and worried, but what’s nice is that he understands my love for heaven.

In my VKontakte group for Aeroflot flight attendants

Flights to air transport would not be nearly as comfortable if the responsibility for the convenience of passengers was not assigned to the flight attendants. At the same time, work in this profession is considered quite prestigious and highly paid. Therefore, many young girls want to work as flight attendants. Let's find out how much Russian flight attendants earn at Aeroflot.

Main responsibilities of flight attendants

But first, let's look at the basic duties that a flight attendant must perform.

A flight attendant is also officially called a flight attendant. For the first time, employees serving passengers in aircraft cabins appeared in Germany in the late 20s of the last century, and in the 30s in the USA, girls began to be involved in this work. This, in fact, is how the profession of a flight attendant arose.

The duties of a flight attendant include the following tasks:

  • passenger service;
  • maintaining cleanliness in the salon
  • coordinating the actions of passengers or their evacuation in case of an emergency;
  • informing passengers.

Due to the specifics of the work and the likelihood of foreign passengers being in the cabin, the flight attendant serving international flights, must be fluent in English. In addition, any flight attendant is required to have certain knowledge of the rules of behavior in the air, the structure of the aircraft, and etiquette. Representatives of this profession must be physically and psychologically able to easily endure flights. aviation transport and also have a high level of self-control.

An applicant for a flight attendant position must meet certain physical parameters(height, weight, age). An acceptable age for a flight attendant is up to 30 years and a height of 165–175 centimeters. So, due to the specific parameters of the aircraft cabin, tall girls cannot be flight attendants. Although there is no mandatory requirement for a flight attendant to have higher education, but reputable companies hire female employees only if they have it. But studying at flight attendant school is mandatory for absolutely everyone.

Work at Aeroflot

Aeroflot is deservedly considered the largest and most prestigious airline in Russia. This company is the very first organized in our country. Its history dates back to 1923. Aeroflot has 161 aircraft at its disposal, and including its subsidiaries, 260 aircraft. This air carrier makes greatest number flights in Russia. Although the company is considered a commercial company, controlling interest shares belong to the state.

Among other things, Aeroflot is distinguished from its main Russian competitors (Transaero, S7 Airlines, UTair, etc.) by the most acceptable working conditions, as well as for full-time flight attendants and pilots. Therefore, many applicants for the position of flight attendant want to work at Aeroflot. But, as practice shows, it is quite difficult to get there, because everyone knows how high the competition is for this vacancy, and the selection is quite tough.

What does salary depend on?

The salary of any Russian flight attendant, including Aeroflot, depends on a number of factors. A significant influence on a flight attendant's income is the total length of service and the number of hours flown. The greater their size, the greater the salary. Those employees with less than 80 hours of flight time receive the company's minimum wage.

Very important factor, affecting the amount of salary is the absence of complaints from passengers. After all, if there are justified complaints, the flight attendant immediately loses the right to a bonus.

Flight attendants who serve international flights earn more than their colleagues who work exclusively on domestic flights. In addition, they receive additional pay for speaking English. True, this knowledge must be periodically confirmed in special exams.

One of the most important components affecting the income of flight attendants is the financial policy of the company in which they work towards its employees. That is, there are airlines that pay more than others, but there are also those that try to save on employee salaries.

Salary at Aeroflot

Now we have come close to the main question that interested us, namely, how much money do Aeroflot flight attendants receive? The average salary of a flight attendant at this company is 50 thousand rubles per month.

The salary of new flight attendants who do not yet have the required flight hours varies from 20 to 30 thousand rubles. But, as soon as they fly the required 80 hours, the income increases sharply. The minimum salary for full-time flight attendants with the required number of flight hours is 40,000 rubles and, under certain conditions, can even reach 90,000 rubles per month.

Additional bonuses

In addition to the basic salary, the Aeroflot company can award its employees a number of additional financial bonuses and premiums if they perform their immediate duties with high quality and exemplary performance.

A flight attendant has the right to a significant discount when flying on company aircraft if she is flying as a passenger. This discount can reach 90% of the ticket price.

In addition, she has the right to a guaranteed flight once a year to any point in the world where there is passenger air service.

How are your competitors doing?

Now let's find out how much a Russian flight attendant earns while working for Aeroflot's main competitors in the air transportation market. The earnings of a flight attendant at Transaero vary from 15 to 70 thousand rubles per month. Moreover, the income of employees with the required number of flights starts from 30,000 rubles. At UTair they earn even less: from 15 to 60 thousand rubles per month.

Comparison results:

We found out how much money a flight attendant earns at Aeroflot and at the main competing companies. It can be stated that earnings at Aeroflot are significantly higher than those of competitors. This is facilitated by the company’s prestige, dominance in the air transportation services market and the support of government agencies, which are the company’s main shareholders.

The income of Aeroflot flight attendants significantly exceeds the average monthly salary of the population in Russia as a whole. Therefore, it is quite logical that the majority of applicants for the position of flight attendant want to work in this prestigious airline, which provides its employees with a high level of wages.
