Pratumnak Beach is not a party beach at all; it is intended more for a relaxed, contemplative holiday than for fun. There are not very many people here even in high season, and even in off-season you can watch marvelous sunsets almost alone, sitting on the sand. Some parts of the beach belong to hotels, but independent travelers can also relax here.

Advantages and disadvantages

Pratumnak beach has many advantages:

  • the length is 500 meters, which is not much, so the beach seems cozy;
  • the width of the coastline is about 20 meters;
  • the entrance to the water is gentle, comfortable, you can relax with children;
  • the beach is surrounded on all sides by rocks, so there is no strong winds and big waves;
  • the water and sand are relatively clean, better than in more central areas;
  • the territory itself is quite well-groomed;
  • There is a water park and an amusement park nearby;
  • You can rent beach equipment;
  • there is no busy highway.

The disadvantages are minimal:

  • Whether it’s a disadvantage or not is up to you, but there are a lot of gays on the beach, so if you’re homophobic, look for another place to relax;
  • in February-March strong winds still blow, so swimming and even just sunbathing becomes cool;
  • At the same time, debris periodically washes up on the shore.

Infrastructure

It is quite developed, but to do this you need to go up from the beach closer to the city: there are restaurants, shops, and excursions. On the beach itself there are only stalls with street food, rental of sunbeds and boards and traditional entertainment: bananas, kayaks, water skis. The main attractions of the resort city are nearby: the main Observation deck, Big Buddha, Pattaya Park and the marvelous Chinese Temple.

Hotels

The most expensive hotel in the area is , where prices start from several thousand rubles per night; next to it is the Royal Beach View Hotel, which is also not cheap. But in general, there are many budget hotels on the first and second lines, and even further from the sea there are guesthouses and hostels. In addition, you can check into an apartment where you will have your own kitchen and other amenities, and where you can stay for the winter with a beautiful view of the bay. With all the options and prices for accommodation in the area, you can

How to get there?

Doesn't go around Pratumnak area public transport, so you can either walk to the beach itself or take a taxi or your own transport. From other parts of the city, it is optimal to get to the fork on Pratamnak Hill (tuk-tuk for 10 baht), and then you can walk to the beach from the 5th street of Pratamnak. Taxi to the beach from center of Pattaya from 150 baht and from 300 baht from remote areas of Naklua or Jomtien, a motorcycle taxi will cost less - from 50 to 150 baht.

Mostly well maintained, small public beach, connecting shady paths and an open area with sand, a small area for gatherings at sunset, a secluded gazebo and stone cape. This is the most accessible beach of Pratamnak. The crowd here is mostly respectable and not loud. Half of the beach is well-groomed and clean, the second is almost abandoned.

Just over 500 m long coastline, in width from 40 m or less, on average about 20 m. The 5th street of Pratamnak leads to Pratamnak beach, which can be considered the main and central one. That is, the beach is also the main one for this area. Although there is also a beach on Pratumnak, on the other side of the cape, and a small beach at the Cabbages & Condoms cafe and the Asia Hotel (it may seem that it is private and closed, but no, you can easily get through).

And yet, Pratamnak beach is the most publicly accessible of all those available in the area. Where the road leads to it, it is a wide area of sand, clean, without shade. On the left there are trees with secluded paths under them, further, behind a small stone spit it begins, and behind it -.

In the other direction, to the right, there are more neglected places, with garbage, there is also a gazebo, large and sharp stones in the water. They overlook the cottages in the distance, this is the territory of the cafe and hotel Cabbages & Condoms. On the right, northern part of Pratamnak beach there are few people and you can sit at sunset almost alone.

True, it is in the Pratamnak area that tourists are regularly attacked (the area is quite respectable, there is something to profit from), so you shouldn’t relax too much and stay too long.

Entering the water, depth and waves

Since the beach is a direct continuation, the same thing that can be said about Dongtan applies to it. The nuance is that to the right of the 5th street exit to the beach, there are rocks in the water. In the center there is a swimming area fenced with buoys. On the border with Dongtan, on the left, there is a small rocky cape, but next to it the entry into the water is convenient and sandy.

In the center of the beach there is sand, with high water the approach is quite sharp, and at low tide it is smoother. Out of season, from the end of February, strong winds blow, there are often waves and all sorts of debris washes up on the shore. This applies not only to Pratumnak Beach, but also to Dong Tan and to some extent to.

Sunbeds and shade

Immediately opposite the exit there is a large open area, on the sides there is a lot of greenery, palm trees and other trees grow, under them there are sun loungers with umbrellas. There is a pleasant shadow closer to. To the right of the beach exit, behind the trees, there is again a large open area and a gazebo. There are sun loungers in the center of the beach and on the left, on the side where Dongtan is. On the right, you might say, is a wild beach.

Beach photo

In the center of the beach:

From the south, towards Dongtan Beach and Pattaya Park, there are several more large expensive hotels:

These are all large expensive hotel complexes and first line condos.

Along Pratumnak's Fifth Street and around, in the interior, there is still plenty of housing. Both hotels and condos for the long term. There are few houses for rent in Pratumnak, at least at affordable prices; these are mostly expensive villas and mansions. In general, Pratamnak is considered an expensive, “European” tourist area, and at the same time, many Russians traditionally vacation here.

The map shows that Pratamnak beach and the neighboring one are presented here as one beach. Everything related to Pratumnak Beach is above and to the left of the Pattaya Park water park on the map.

Be sure (and I insist) to check for discounts or special offers on excellent service. It will quickly and easily show you discounts in all existing booking systems. In Asia, for example, there are a lot of offers on Agoda.com, which are much more interesting than for exactly the same hotels on Booking.com.

How to find the beach

Getting to the beach is very easy: 5th Street Pratamnak directly faces it. If you drive along 5th to the sea and immediately after 7-Eleven turn right, then less than a hundred meters after the Sentara hotel, immediately after Mom Chalay there will be another exit to the beach - to the left. There is no public transport around Pratamnak, so either take a taxi or walk.

Unless, of course, you live nearby. Also good options for getting around Pattaya are taxis (both in the form of a car and in the form of a tuk-tuk) and motorcycle taxis.

You can also get to Pratamnak beach through, to the beginning of which you can get from the city center by regular tuk-tuk. Along the road, however, there is no passable road, it is a pedestrian zone.

The Pratumnak Beach area is the second most popular holiday destination in Pattaya. Today we walked along the embankment towards this beach and, judging by what we saw, we were the first among Russian vacationers. But not by the abundance of Russian signs, not by the Russian music coming from the cafes, but by the Russians themselves. There are quite a lot of them here even in the off season.

Pratumnak beach

Pratamnak Beach is replete with five-star hotels. Conventionally, the beach is divided into 4 parts - Dongtan (Adam Beach), the Pratumnak beach itself, the Asia Hotel beach, and Cozy Beach.

For the convenience of tourists, along the entire beach, starting from Jomtien, there is an alley, from which winding paths to the beach periodically depart. Sometimes cars or motorbikes of cafe and hotel workers come in, but there is no constant flow of cars here. This is one of the advantages that we noted for ourselves at Pratamnak beach. Another nice bonus is free Wi-Fi on the beach.

Also on Pratumnak there is the only Pattaya hotel with a small water park and amusement park - Pattaya Park. The hotel itself and the water park, upon closer inspection, look rather dull and shabby.

Dongtan Beach (Adam beach): gay beach

The first thing that catches your eye when walking to the beach is gay people. Blue Adam Beach is located at the very beginning of Pratumnak. The beach for gays is easy to recognize by the rainbow flags and the contingent of vacationers - only men.

There is even a special place for them. They walk hand in hand and communicate sweetly. The restaurants are also mostly occupied only by gay couples or groups of 7-8 men; the rest of the establishments are simply empty.

Pratamnak Beach

With the onset of the high season, Pratumnak beach is transformed. All the garbage that can be seen in the off-season floats away somewhere, the water becomes blue and even transparent, and the landscapes are no longer so gray.

Many people swim here, as it is believed that the water is cleaner.

Photo of Pratamnak Beach in low season

Pratamnak is wider than Jomtien, but in June it does not look much more attractive than its neighbor. See the photo to see what the situation is like here in the low season.

The wind from the sea blows constantly. Now I have to go for walks with a bandage on my ears

“I'm t-telling you, you have to sunbathe naked! Y-Are you understand me or not?!”

I still don’t understand why small children should be bathed naked in dirty water. Many Russian families do the same

The garbage was quietly distributed along the entire spit along the beach. High and dirty waves rise due to strong winds. The most amazing thing is that in high season The water is clean and there is no dirt!

The Gulf of Thailand brings all the delights of civilization to the coast. Nobody cleans up trash in some areas of the beach. But Russian tourists are not afraid of anything. In the cold and in the heat, in the mud, but at least I swim in Thailand. I don’t care that a sewer pipe 100 meters away drains all waste into the sea.

This is what Pattaya looks like in winter. That is, in the summer. In Thailand, all the seasons are the other way around: when we have summer, there is winter, and when we have frosts, in Thailand there comes a hot, dry summer. So, the optimal time to visit Pattaya is from November to March.

Well, we won’t swim, we’ll eat ice cream.

In the cold and in the heat - ice cream is always with me

Asia Hotel Beach

The next beach, which also belongs to the Pratumnak area, is Asia Hotel Beach. That's what everyone calls him here. It is separated from neighboring beaches by mountains. You can access it freely through the hotel territory.

Cozy beach

Cozy Beach is considered one of the best Pattaya beaches. It is also separated from the other beaches by a mountain. The Kozi area, like Pratumnak, is recognized as elite. I don’t know why, though, there’s nothing special about the beach or the area. The Pratumnak hill area ends at this beach. After the mountains, the Central Pattaya region begins.

Pratumnak District

The interior of the area is quite calm. If you come here in the summer, it seems that everything has died out. The quarter is very quiet, there is no public transport here, and there are few people. During the season everything comes to life.

There are several 7-Elevens and Family Marts in the area. Near the Tesco Express beach. It's a 20-30 minute walk to Foodmart. In the very center of the area there is a “Russian market”, where fruits, ready-made food and inexpensive cafes are sold. Many new condominiums are built on quiet streets where cars rarely pass and music from the market is not heard. But there may be a construction site nearby.

From the central part of the Pratumnak area, approximately from the market, where most hotels and condos are located, it takes 5-7 minutes to walk to tuk-tuks. Same to the beach. In the alleys we often notice water dispensers and washing machines (40 baht each).

The area itself is heavily Russified. It seems to me that most Russians live here. In the condominiums, too, the audience is mainly Russian and European, there are a few Thai residents, we have never seen the Chinese, they were seen only on excursions to Pattaya Park. There is no Tagil, and there are no blue couples anywhere except Dongtan Beach. Many families with children vacation on Pratumnak.

The elite resort of Pratumnak Beach is located on the hill of the same name in southern Pattaya. At Cape Pratumnak there are magnificent hotels, and the royal family will become neighbors of vacationers: the Thai king has a residence in Pratumnak.

Holidays in Pratumnak will be appreciated by those tourists who are looking for peace and quiet. Pratumnak Beach flows near the coast, where there are shops, restaurants, tour desks, massage parlors, and bars.

Beaches

There are several beaches at the Pratumnak Beach resort, all of them adjacent to the hotel areas: Mountain, Adriatic, Cozy Beach. The beaches are spacious and clean - the sand is cleaned several times a day. In order to get to the beach, you need to go down the hill along the stairs.

During the high season, the beaches can be crowded and noisy: jet ski rentals are available, you can ride a banana boat, or fly over the sea with a parachute.

Tours to Pratumnak

Prices for tours for 2 people for 7 nights with departure from Moscow are given.

Although Pratumnak can be called one of the cleanest beaches in the Pattaya resort, tourists still prefer to go to neighboring islands for swimming. For example, you can get to an island (Coral Island) with clean sand and clear water by speed boats in just 20 - 30 minutes.

Weather

The resort's weather matches that of Pattaya. All months, without exception, in Pratumnak are warm, daytime temperatures are around 31° Celsius, and at night - 25° C. April and May are considered the hottest, when temperatures rise day and night to 34° and 27°, respectively. Water temperature all year round does not fall below 27°C. The rainy season in Pattaya begins in May and ends in early November. At this time, the water in the sea becomes cloudy, and large waves and undercurrents make swimming dangerous.

Hotels

Hotels on Pratumnak Beach have different star ratings and offer different services. Few people can afford a holiday in the elite area of Pratumnak Beach. Each hotel has swimming pools, play areas, animation, and children's playgrounds.

Attractions

The main attraction of Pratumnak Beach is. No visit Big Buddha Not a single cultural program in Pattaya is complete. Even if you are not interested in Buddhist attractions, you will definitely remember the hill, from the top of which you can see the entire resort.

Two more are located on Pratumnak Hill. Climbing the hill, you will see what marvelous views open onto Pattaya Bay, Coral Island (), rainforests. Nearby is a luxurious park opened in honor of the anniversary of the Thai king. Flowers and trees grow here, brought from all over the world. Families visiting Pratumnak Beach with children should definitely visit the Pattaya water park. There are water slides (straight and spiral), children's and adult pools, and fountains.

Kitchen

There are no restaurants on the coast itself; they are all concentrated on the hill. Here you can not only eat delicious food, but also admire amazing views of the Gulf of Thailand. In local restaurants you can taste not only European cuisine.

Transport

You can get to the center of Pattaya at any time of the day or night by tuk-tuk or taxi. For ease of travel during your vacation, you can also. Do not rent a car or motorbike if you do not have experience driving on roads with left-hand traffic and if you do not have an international driving license.

This is one of the most popular areas among tourists from Russia, Ukraine and other countries former CIS. Many inscriptions have even been translated into Russian for them. True, sometimes with errors, for example, it is written “8 people” instead of “8 people”.

Why choose Pratumnak area:

  • isolated beach surrounded on both sides by high cliffs;
  • the absence of a busy road near the coast, for which Jomtien and Central Pattaya are so “famous”;
  • Nearby are the three main attractions of the resort - , . You can walk to them in about 15 minutes. And in half an hour - to and;
  • the presence of all infrastructure with hotels, restaurants, bars, massages, shops, travel agencies, motorbike rentals and water activities. Here you can even exchange rubles for baht;
  • relatively quiet place no discos and clubs;
  • a good choice for couples with children;
  • the sea is cleaner than in Central Pattaya.

The isolation of Pratamnak has both pros and cons. On the one hand, it is not so easy to get here, since the songthaew route for 10 baht is several kilometers away. Therefore, you have to use motorcycle taxis and tuk-tuks, which are expensive. But this same circumstance also has an advantage - due to its inaccessibility (as well as the lack of shopping centers), there are no “strangers” here and only guests of nearby hotels relax on the beach.

Beach and sea

Pratumnak Beach is mainly used only by holidaymakers from nearby hotels. In the high season there are quite a lot of people here, but still not as many as in the noisy season.

Offered on the coast water activities, prices are slightly higher than Central Beach: 30 minutes on a water scooter 1000-1500 baht, banana ride - 1100 baht, speedboat ride from 2500 baht.

Sun loungers and parasols are only available in the central part. The southern part is where the boats stop, it is not crowded there, sometimes you can see Thais swimming.

After sunset, there is peace and quiet on the coast, since there are no restaurants directly next to the sea. But there are several on the hill, from which stairs go down. Here you can not only have a snack, but also enjoy a magnificent view of the sea - an excellent panorama opens up. If you move a little further from the sea, then there are shops, restaurants, tour desks, massage parlors, motorbike rentals and a couple of bars with girls at your service. But in general, the Pratumnak area is a fairly calm place and cannot be compared with the noisy center.

Attractions and entertainment

If you live in the Pratumnak area, then you are very lucky in terms of attractions, since they are located within walking distance. In 15 minutes you can walk to Pattaya and the Chinese Temple. Plus, at their foot there is a small park - practically the only green corner in the city.

In terms of entertainment on Pratumnak, everything is also in order. Although there are not as many of them as in the center, there are enough of them not to get bored. Many bars (including those with available girls), restaurants, snack bars, massage parlors, aquatic species sports on the coast, plus a couple of 24-hour mini markets. The only thing that hasn't been built yet is night club, but they are not so far away - the ones located on Volkin Street can be reached in about 7 minutes. In general, you can walk in half an hour, but after sunset it is better not to do this, since part of the road passes through a rather deserted area that is used by unkind reputation.

There are no shopping centers here either, only small shops and stalls where you can buy souvenirs, T-shirts, flip-flops, fruit and other small items.

How to get there

From Central Pattaya, Jomtien and Naklua

The Pratamnak district is located somewhat out of the way, far from the route of inexpensive public transport -. The minimum walk is about half an hour from where they pass. You can get here from the fork on Pratamnak hill, which is located next to the police station and a makeshift gym under open air. If you stand with your back to Central Pattaya, then on the right there will be a road leading to observation deck, left - to and straight - to Thappraya Road. But the fourth road will lead you to Pratamnak.

The only way to get directly to the hotel is by tuk-tuk or motorcycle taxi. The cost of travel depends on the distance: the price of a tuk-tuk starts from 150 baht from Central Pattaya and can reach 300 baht from remote areas or. Motorcycle taxi - from 50 to 150 baht.

From airport

1. Bus.

From (where all flights from Russia, Ukraine and other former CIS countries arrive) you can get to Pattaya, and then take a tuk-tuk taxi. Buses run approximately every hour and arrive either at North Street or at the intersection of Thappraya and Theprasit. This option is only suitable if you are traveling alone. Then you will pay 150-200 baht for a bus and 150-200 baht for a tuk-tuk that will take you from the bus stop to the hotel. Total 300-400 baht. If there are four of you (for example, a family with two children), then getting to Pratamnak will cost almost the same as taking a taxi: 4 bus tickets cost around 800 baht, plus a tuk-tuk 150-200 baht. And you will spend 2 times more time on this.
