    The first large stop was in Cherepanovo. Here the electric locomotive changes due to voltage differences. The new station building has not yet been opened, but it has already been completed. The ticket offices are located in a small administrative building.

    In general, I know the entire route of this train by heart. I constantly travel either by train or bus. Next comes the border between Altai Territory And Novosibirsk region. Here the train makes a two-minute stop in Ust-Talmenskaya. I have a colleague from the army who lives here.

    The toilet in the carriage was old. It was closed to sanitary areas.

    And I came out here to buy Altai balsam for my mother. She loves them very much.

The fact is that the arrival at the Barnaul station occurs from the same side, where the line to Biysk departs. In Novosibirsk it will be the same if you are traveling in transit from west to south or Kuzbass.

    And another farewell photo of Barnaul from a not very clean train window. I noticed that in compartment carriage the windows simply sparkled. And it costs three times more.

    In the carriage I liked the doors that lead out to the vestibule. They look like indoor ones with tinted glass.

    There was a trash can and a fire extinguisher near the toilet.

    I slept through the next stops with peace of mind. There were three hours left before arriving in Biysk. By the end of the journey there were almost no people left in the carriage. In winter, few people use this train. Mainly in the summer, when they go to Gorny Altai.

    Near the conductors' compartment there was an old boiler. There was always boiling water. On the wall hung the standard assortment of products offered for sale.

    We woke up about an hour before arrival. It became noticeably cold in the carriage. I bought tea and cookies. This set cost 80 rubles. The train was flying very fast. It was difficult to hold the glass on the small table.

    Glass froze in the vestibule.

    The train arrived in Biysk on schedule. This city greeted us with light snow. There was no wind. And the temperature was about minus eight degrees.

    And in conclusion, I would like to talk about the departure station, that is, the Novosibirsk station. I arrived there about an hour before departure. I bought tickets and waited for the train to arrive. I really like our spacious train station. Especially the waiting room on the second floor. People are allowed here only with tickets.

    The station is decorated very interestingly for the New Year. There are live Christmas trees in the yard and inside.

    The bright drawings made with colored paints are very interesting. Symbols from different years are presented here.

    That's basically all I wanted to tell you about this trip. For myself, I concluded that cheap is not always a bad thing. Moreover, the train runs at night. I really like this. If you need to go to Altai, choose 601.

    Update. From December 2018, the train was extended to Tomsk. The trick is to combine the two compositions. Old 143/144 Novosibirsk-Tomsk and this one.
    But now it runs every other day and so does the cheap seating car.
    In principle, direct carriages have been added to the Tomsk-Karaganda train. And plus, from Barnaul the carriages go under the new Barnaul - Biysk train. Departure and arrival times have not changed...
