The hotel has undergone renovations, but the owners have left some of its original charm intact, and the modern interior blends beautifully with hand-carved wall frescoes and classical architecture.

Hotel amenities

The lobby has a seating area and a bar with good choice drinks, which also serves breakfast. The Astoria Restaurant has an art deco design and a menu featuring Mediterranean cuisine. One of the rooms has a billiard table and a wonderful collection of art deco posters hanging on the walls.

One of the big pluses of the Astoria is its magnificent rooftop terrace, which is unusual for a three-star hotel. From there you can enjoy views of Barcelona and the Sagrada Família. The terrace has a small pool and a bar, open in summer. There is also a small gym near the pool, located behind glass, so there is always a lot of sun there during training.

Dogs are allowed into the hotel, plus there is a private parking lot. Guests are provided with a Smart car, and during their stay you receive free entry to the Egyptian Museum of Barcelona.

Laundry and ironing services are available.

For business people

According to the manager, 50% of their clients come to Barcelona on business. The hotel has two conference rooms with an area of ​​35 and 20 sq.m., which can accommodate up to 30 people.

In one room there is a table converted from a billiard table, and thanks to the art deco style, it looks very interesting.

Hotel rooms

The rooms are modern and quite small, but stylish and very comfortable. The hotel has a total of 117 rooms, and some of them have their own terraces. Each room has air conditioning, telephone, safe, minibar, satellite and pay TV. The marble bathrooms have hair dryers. The rooms are soundproofed, but the road near the hotel is not that noisy.

Hotel location

Astoria is located in the charming Eixample district, home to many magnificent period buildings. Behind the hotel there is a pleasant old cafe, of which there are many in the area. There is a pharmacy at the end of the street and an ATM is just around the corner on Calle Enric Granados. Nearest metro station, Diagonal, is located a few steps from the hotel. Diagonal has many expensive shops and restaurants. Also very close is Passeig de Gràcia, famous for its designer clothing stores and two emblematic buildings by Gaudí.

There is no sound insulation at all; you can hear all the pipes, all the neighbors, and everyone passing along the corridor. The plumbing works very poorly, the drain in the sink was clogged, and the cleaning lady did not even call a plumber. The pipes are very noisy. The hotel needs some cosmetic renovations.

The most important "+" of the hotel is the location! For tourists who want to not only lie on the beach for days, but also at least see something, the location is ideal. The hotel is not located on av.Diagonal itself, but at the intersection of the neighboring small street Paris with the pedestrian street Eric Grandos, so personally I always slept peacefully and did not hear any noise from the street. The nearest metro station is diagonal (5-10 min), from the airport you can take the Renfe train for about 4 euros to the Paseige de Gracia station and then change to the metro (transfer right across the street) and go 1 station to Diagonal or walk to the hotel. .. (For those who are in the city for the first time, it is better not to do this, of course. Walk from Paseige de Gracia for 15-20 minutes). The closest attractions are “La pedrera” and “Sagrada familia” (20 min walk). The room was small, but there was enough space for 1 person.

Stayed at this hotel for a long weekend and everything was perfect. Friendly staff, clean rooms. I didn't order breakfast, so I can't say anything about that. In general, everything is not bad. Just be prepared to use transportation to get to the right places.
