The other day I flew from the Sheraton hotel Sharm Resort 5 stars in Egypt.

I rested in this hotel from September 7 to 14, together with my husband.
We planned to celebrate our wedding anniversary at sea, and asked our tour sales manager from Chip trip to pick us up good hotel, in order not to go anywhere for a week and not worry about anything. When we arrived, the first thing we saw was a small entrance to the hotel, next to the souvenir shops. When we entered the lobby, we saw a small room with an area of 40 meters, there was a reception desk and two sofas. These sofas were so old and already greasy with black glitter on the arms. I haven’t even seen such hotels in different regions of Russia when I often go on business trips, and if they exist, they are definitely not 5 stars, but either have no stars, or have two or three stars. Still, the lobby and reception are the face of the hotel. Upset.

I began to calm myself down, perhaps the unpresentable lobby does not mean anything, and I will see a beautiful room, or probably other advantages. But when I entered the room, I was even more upset. The room was on the ground floor overlooking the garden (I didn’t care about the view), there were water stains on the walls, two separate beds, rusty plumbing in the shower, an air conditioner that rattled like an old refrigerator, I’ve definitely never seen such rooms anywhere, honestly I burst into tears and was upset - I called the hotel manager, they told me: “You booked a room overlooking the garden, there are no other rooms,” I said, “I don’t care about the view from the window, I want a good room that corresponds to five-star status,” I was told "No numbers, goodbye!" The worst thing is when they don’t solve your problem, but just hang up. I decided to go to the reception, because... I wasn’t going to stay in such a room, the manager pretended that he didn’t understand me, I said that I wouldn’t stay in the room, I would spend the night in the lobby, and in the end they didn’t give me a room in the “romantic” room, where the distance was probably 1 kilometer from the sea. Together with me, there were 4 other couples standing next to me, who, like me, were horrified by the numbers. This room was a little better, but still - broken sconces on the street, tattered furniture, definitely not 5 stars but all two or three, water stains on the walls. And the view of my garden is the roar from the window from the construction site, like a huge highway. There was no furniture in the area outside to sit down. The shower was all rusty, had a nasty smelling bath curtain, a noisy old old air conditioner, and the sink wouldn't drain. The blanket has a stain, the lighting in the room is dim, everything is hard to see. I no longer had the strength to argue; my husband, who never nitpicks about trifles, was very upset himself.

Almost all the people I flew with were upset by this attitude towards us, the guests.

It didn’t end there, it turned out that there is a main building in Main, but we are the holders of green bracelets, we can take alcoholic drinks in the evening only in our restaurant at the Sheraton Sharm Resort. We were told that we could spend time in the main building in the evening, but you would sit and watch how other people were relaxing and feel like a different kind of person. It’s the same thing at the bar in the main pool - but I didn’t suffer from it, I don’t drink in the morning. If you want to drink wine in the evening, go to the dining room, where you don’t want to stay for more than 10 minutes. In addition, the smell in the dining room (and this is a dining room) has a terrible smell! The food was very monotonous, I pulled my hair out of food twice, the food set was minimal, every day for breakfast and lunch it was the same thing - beef, chicken and fish, but everything was the same. At first I ate meat, but after I got a huge piece of fat - it wasn’t very pleasant to look at - I stopped eating it. In the bar, all the wine glasses had a terrible stain on them, they weren’t washed at all, they probably just rinsed them and that’s it. All other days I poured all the liquid into plastic disposable glasses. The restaurant itself smelled very bad, there were no tables on the street where you could sit pleasantly in the evening, although in all hotels you can sit both on the street and in the restaurant. The last two days I went to eat through force, I ate only rice, because... All other food disgusted me, and I still can’t eat. The vegetables were often weathered, the cucumbers were dry, and the fruits were unripe dates and unripe melon. Next to our dining room there was a bar, an incomprehensible establishment where people drank and smoked, and there was billiards. I went there once and left - most likely, if you want to drink, then as a second-class person you were offered to do it there. The feeling that you are in a blatchat - billiards, a smoke stove, burgundy walls, a couple of people drinking, and women in minis with huge heels).

The bars on the beach had nice staff - I don't drink alcohol in the morning, and can drink wine in a pleasant environment in the evening. But on the beach I usually drink water, tea or coffee (if it’s morning). Already in the afternoon the bar was running out of coffee and there was only tea. If you came to the beach at 8-00, then often there was no water in the cooler or there was water, but there were no glasses. Go dry up or beg. One could turn a blind eye to this, but when there are so many disadvantages at once, you pay attention to everything. On the territory not far from the room there was some kind of box of garbage lying, this box lay there all the weeks of our stay, and on the second day the whole thing, along with the garbage, was gutted by some animal, most likely a cat running around the territory.

On the plus side - generally good staff, except for the first manager who refused to relocate, good beach.

In conclusion, I want to say that this is the first time I have written something like this to anyone. I don't come and search. I travel a lot, traveling both independently and on tourist packages. In India, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Germany, Prague, Turkey, Cyprus and many others. pl. I have vacationed in other countries different hotels and in two stars, and in five and in four, but I see this for the first time. I’ve been to Egypt five times, and always lived in different hotels, both without a famous name, and in fours, and in high-status hotels. For some reason, I didn’t count on this at all, especially when the manager calculated the trip cheaper, and we offered to pay extra and go to a good hotel.. November 2019. We bought a tour with accommodation in villas. At the reception they immediately offered to change to the main building for 20 bucks a day. They refused. Regarding the villas: all the reviews are true, everything is very tired. There are cracks in the door and in the bathtub about a centimeter long, and the furniture is old. Plus there were a lot of mosquitoes, I had to buy a fumigator, but it didn’t help much. Basil grows on the premises; they picked it and placed it around the room. It helped a little. The reception did not respond to requests to kill mosquitoes. The beach is clean, huge and spacious, there are always plenty of places. There is a very large distance between the umbrellas, sothat no one bothered anyone, they didn’t rub their backs next to each other. In November it was already windy, but maybe the place here is so open, since we were in Charm earlier in November in another hotel, it was much more comfortable and there was no wind. For a couple of days we weren’t allowed to go to sea until lunchtime because of the wind. The reef was not impressive, especially since they fenced off an area of approximately 15*150 meters from the pier with buoys and did not let us go further. For example, in the Albatross Aqua Park you can swim far away, and if you swim further away, the local reef is not even close. Food: a bit scanty, you won’t go hungry, but you’ll hardly get any pleasure from the food. Traditionally there are a lot of sweets. Fruits: guava, persimmon, melon, dates. Alcohol: wine and beer are ok, the rest is not tasty. Animation - all prisoners. They barely move. There was yoga, belly dancing, water aerobics, volleyball, boccia, but all without a sparkle, you won’t hear or see and you’ll miss everything - no one invites or announces. We are 43 years old, we had no children and it’s boring here. Those who are 20-25 are probably generally sad. We didn’t even see the pensioners’ evening show during these three days, although it was included in the program. It is clear that the hotel was gorgeous 10 years ago. Despite everything described, we enjoy the warmth and sun. The main thing is to be prepared.
