Public transport in Lviv. Public transport in Lviv Cheap flights from Lviv

During this trip to Lviv, I rode quite a lot on local public transport and took several photographs. Lviv public transport is represented mainly by buses and trams; there is also a trolleybus network with 12 routes. As throughout Ukraine, public transport in Lviv does not operate without problems, the main of which are the deterioration of rolling stock and non-functioning schemes for filling the transport budget.

So, in this post we will take a ride on public transport in Lviv and see what is there and how.

02. A tram runs throughout the city center. The tram network in Lviv is quite old, operating since 1894. Now in Lviv there are 10 routes, 73 kilometers of rails, a tram depot on Gorodotska Street and 124 passenger cars. The carriages are mostly old and uncomfortable. The rails and the entire surrounding infrastructure are also in poor condition, pay attention to the old chipped slabs of the turning circle in the photo below.

03. There are also modern low-floor lemon-yellow cars in Lviv. It is especially pleasant that this tram was developed by Lviv designers and manufactured here by the Electron company. If only such carriages ran around Lviv, the city would be transformed.

04. Electric transport in Lviv is a separate type of transport, for which separate coupons are sold for 2 hryvnia (approximately 0.1 dollar). You can use the same ticket to travel on a trolleybus, but you will have to buy different tickets for the bus.

05. Before starting the trip, the ticket must be validated - for this purpose there are old composters hanging in the carriages; there are no modern validators yet. Composters come in different shapes, sizes and types, but all are very old, still Soviet. They press tightly and with a creak.

06. There are also inspectors in the carriages, but their function is only to check fares; you cannot buy coupons from them - coupons are sold only in street stalls or from the driver. The inspectors simply wait for the trip to start, and then go to check the fare.

07. The interior of a typical Lviv tram looks like this. The handrails are almost always yellow and there are several places for advertising.

08. The seats are most often covered with fabric and look a little newer than the tram itself. Apparently this is no longer the original factory upholstery.

09. The driver signal button is located near each door in the carriage. It is needed either to stop on demand, or to prevent accidents as a result of passengers being pinched by doors.

10. As can be seen from the information stickers, the fine for traveling without a ticket is only 40 hryvnia - that’s less than $2. I have never seen anyone on a tram be fined for traveling without a ticket - usually the inspectors simply send you to buy a ticket from the driver. This is very bad, because it does not encourage citizens to pay for travel - if there are no inspectors in the carriage, then everyone travels for free.

12. At one of the stops, two girls got on the tram and started singing songs:)

13. Seeing the camera, the girls rushed to the exit. I don’t know what caused this reaction to photographic equipment.

14. A few hryvnias and ten seconds of persuasion did the trick, and the girls agreed to pose for the camera:) By the way, they sang great. In general, this type of income is quite popular in Lviv - I remember this from my past trips to the city.

15. Once upon a time, the famous Soviet LAZ buses were made in Lvov, known to everyone who traveled short distances. intercity routes(on long distances"Ikarus" were allowed more). Nowadays, the Lvov plant also produces modern buses. The current LAZ looks like this:

16. There are also many minibuses - yellow Ukrainian buses "Bogdan", which, as in Kyiv, are filled to capacity with passengers. Minibuses often duplicate main bus/tram routes.

17. A bus ticket costs 4 hryvnia, coupons are also sold from the driver. The minibus also costs 4 hryvnia - the fare was recently raised, causing a storm of indignation among the townspeople.

18. There are also many “gray schemes” for appropriating passengers’ money - for example, on this bus going to the outskirts of the city, the driver opens only the front door, letting passengers through it. A guy in blue shorts standing next to the driver collects the fare, but no tickets are issued.

19. Bus interior. There are on-demand stop buttons everywhere near the doors, which are actively used - from time to time drivers forget to open the side and rear doors.

Let's start, perhaps, with Lviv electric trains.

Electric train Lviv-Zdolbunov. The price for travel has been increased by 40% since May 16. They didn’t improve service and comfort - people are still like sardines in a jar. Everything is old and practically falling apart. What is typical is that the electric train itself is pulled by an electric freight train... and why would that be?

Another train is Lviv-Lavochnoye, departure from Lviv at 17:50.

A stone was thrown at a window in Pustomity with all their might. Sitting next to her was a woman who was hit by fragments... well, at least not the stone itself hit her in the head. The driver refused to call the police, saying that they would be in Nikolaev, where they were not.

In general, during the scandal, the woman tore off the stop valve when the train was leaving Nikolaev and called the police, but it turned out that her call was not registered in Nikolaev. The driver came and said that the police would be in Stryi. In short, it’s quite an adventure to travel on Lviv electric trains.

You should also be more careful on the roads. Drunk women driving!

Dashing, right? :-)

This is what happened near Lvovgaz. A tow truck reportedly recovered the vehicle and no one was injured. The driver of the car, a woman born in 1978, is completely terrified. Police say he had 1.98 ppm of alcohol in his blood.

Well, I wrote a lot about Lviv buses and minibuses... sometimes it’s scary to travel in them. Another thing is not to drive at all and try to wait. For example, there is a queue for route number 8, which runs according to schedule. The schedule seems to be very rare... but at least the passengers don’t start a fight - they stand decorously in line:

Let's move on to trams. They drift on a regular basis. It’s a long way from Kharkov, but the trouble has begun. So, on May 18, in the very center of the city, next to the Church of St. Anne, a tram flew off the rails:

Trams in Lviv drift much less than in Kharkov, but they burn regularly, although so far without any particular casualties. Here is today's latest scandal in Electrotrans about this matter. Epic:

I will briefly translate the complaint into Imperial:

"The event occurred at 22.25.
This conversation just took place on Russkaya street. The video describes the situation that took place. But not all of it... Except that when the carriage was completely smoky, the driver opened it ONLY! front doors, and went to see what happened! People rushed to the exit, they couldn’t breathe. There were families with small children in the cabin... It would have been more people, panic... it’s not known how it could end!.. 😠
The driver said that now there will be another carriage - you will change seats. I won’t return the money because “we don’t have that right.”
We called the dispatcher at the numbers provided. The dispatcher reported that trams No. 2 would no longer be on the route. That is, dear ones, go with God peshkarus, I will accept the complaint, but after that I hung up.
The number of the car that started smoking is 1098.
The number of the next one that did not stop empty is 1107."

Those who are not particularly affected by transport problems yet are children. Can't get into the trolleybus interior? You can ride outside too!

By the way, with minibuses. They exist, but it seems that the owners prefer to run just enough of them on the route so that passengers are as crowded as possible - this is the most profitable. Here are the minibuses at a standstill while there are queues at the stops.

In this article we will talk about new airport Lvov, or rather new terminal, which was built to host the 2012 FIFA World Cup. The airport is located just 6 kilometers from the city and is the largest in the western part of Ukraine. Direct flights depart from Lviv Airport to Poland, Austria, Russia, Israel, Turkey, Greece and others.

After the completed reconstruction, Lviv Airport can receive up to 2000 passengers per hour. The runway was also increased by more than 800 meters. But the most impressive part of the airport is the new terminal. The modern, 3-story structure made of steel and glass has become a decoration and business card cities. On the ground floor of the airport there are passenger check-in and waiting rooms, as well as a baggage handling department, and on the second and third floors there are customs and border control departments.

However, in this article we will focus more attention on the issues that concern tourists most. By what transport and how to get from the airport to the city center? Where is the airport and what hotels are nearby? Are there money changers and ATMs at the airport? Well, first things first.
