In addition to choosing a country, a region... it was necessary to choose a hotel that would shelter us for 10 days of our stay.
The requirements for the hotel were minimal: convenient location, good food.
Everything else: presentable appearance, marble stairs with railings inlaid with SWAROVSKI crystals or semi-precious stones, crystal chandeliers overhead, oil paintings, and we don’t even need animation.
We don’t really need a pool - we came to the sea!
We chose 4R Salou Park Resort II is a 3 star hotel.
It is logical to assume that since our Salou Park Resort II, that is, also Salou Park Resort I.
Hotel 4R Salou Park Resort I is a 4 star hotel. The hotel is newer and has sea view(sea view).

By the way, the hotel 4R Salou Park Resort II is the former Playa Margarita, as evidenced by the evacuation plan that hangs on the door in the room. Maybe they bought it, maybe they gave it to them, it doesn’t matter, the main thing is that now it’s “second”)
HOTEL LOCATION
The location of the hotel is very good!
It is located next to Capelans beach, the most picturesque in all of Salou. You just need to cross the road and go down the steps.
If you believe the Internet, then 100-150 meters from the hotel.
If you don’t want to warm your bones on Capelans, you can easily walk to the central beach. In general, we are not far from anywhere, we have walked all over Salou)
If you leave the hotel and go right, you will find yourself on "Yellow" street.
Remember: To the left - to the sea, to the right - Yellow Street! After passing it, you will just reach the famous Boulevard Jaime I.
In Salou, all the hotels are stuck close to each other. Moreover, 4 stars does not mean that it is closer to the sea.
As I already mentioned, the hotel does not have a sea view!
On the one hand, there is a view of (the hotels are located close, so the windows are facing the windows) and swimming pools, and since the hotel is shaped like the letter L, it also has a view of the street.
on the other side, into the courtyard, onto the perpendicular part of our hotel and onto another hotel. You can’t go out on the balcony naked either there or there!
We got a room facing the courtyard. They wanted to change, overlooking the pool, but they explained to us that the room on the other side was small and noisy from the animation. Ha, we came to bed when all the animation had long been snoring in both holes))) In the end, we didn’t go to watch and moved in together in a room for three!
If you choose a pool view and Resort I- get the sun in your room, we We didn’t see the sun at all!
Between these two hotels there are two swimming pools, beautifully illuminated in different colors in the evening. I won’t say anything about the pools, there’s no point in swimming there if the sea is nearby

The hotel was built in 1982, then underwent renovation, everything looks quite worthy for 3 stars.
In the room: TV (2 Russian-speaking channels were found), 3 beds, a chair, one bedside table, a table, a bench, a wardrobe with hangers, and a safe in it. Sockets (in sufficient quantity)
There are tiles everywhere on the floor. It was unusual at first.
There is a hairdryer in the bathroom (2 modes), it cannot be moved to another room.
The water pressure is strong, the water is hot. Everything works fine.
The key to the room is plastic and is given to everyone. If you hold this key near your tablet/phone, it may become demagnetized and you will not be able to enter your room. The problem was quickly resolved at the reception. This happened to us twice.
Our room was on the second floor and we walked, the hotel has an elevator.
CLEANING
Cleaning the room, changing towels, adding shampoo, gel, soap, toilet paper - Every day!
I didn’t test it with a white handkerchief, but the cleaning was excellent.

Whether the bed linen was changed or not - honestly, I don’t know. It happened that in the middle of our vacation, our beds were neatly made, not like us))) We thought that they had changed them. The next day the same thing again. And then I thought that probably different aunts clean and each has their own approach to cleaning. In general, I don’t know, it doesn’t matter to me whether they changed my bed in 10 days or not. I don't change my house that often.
NUTRITION
We had breakfast and dinner according to the system Buffet. You take what you want and as much as you want.
Tasty, satisfying, enough of everything, but at the end of the vacation, you get tired of the monotony, or better yet, I’ll say - we got greedy)
I'll list what I remember
For breakfast: boiled eggs, omelet, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, sausages, cheese, milk porridge of the same type and very sweet. I ate it, I liked it, it was a bit sweet for my husband. Fruits, yoghurts. Muesli and other crunchy balls. buns, croissants of three types. You could toast yourself. Tea, coffee, juices - just a few types, come choose and drink as much as you want.
For dinner:
Several types of fish, several types of meat, pizza, two types of soups, pasta, French fries mostly, salads. Separately tomatoes, torn lettuce - I made myself something like Greek. I mixed everything separately and poured oil on it. By the way, there is also oil, balsamic vinegar, sauces, and some gravies. Olives, olives. Paella was once.
Maybe on Saturdays they had an amazing dinner, we only found one. Seafood, mmmm!
Desserts/cakes, ice cream. Fruits: apples, pears, oranges, nectarines, watermelons, melons.
All drinks at dinner are extra charge! ALL.
Tasty, satisfying. But I controlled myself and tried to eat right.

It was built back in 1963, and has been actively welcoming guests since then. In 1997 it was completely reconstructed, and the last renovation was carried out in 2014. The complex is part of well-known network 4R Hotels.
4R Salou Park Resort is aimed at different categories of tourists, including couples. It is located 110 kilometers from the town of Reus (there is also an airport there), twenty kilometers from the center of Tarragona, and one from the port of Salou.
The hotel is just 120 meters from the beach. There is a promenade between the complex and the coast.

The food in the complex itself is quite good. For example, for breakfast, guests are served coffee from a coffee machine, fresh croissants, cereals, omelettes and scrambled eggs, pancakes, yogurt, and champagne once every few days. There is always fruit on the tables. Festive dinners with seafood (including crabs and crayfish) are held several times a week. There is a diet table for children.
In the main restaurant, the waiters work promptly and serve guests well. The hotel has very tasty lemon ice cream. In total, there are about eight types of it in refrigerators.
For those who have chosen the all-inclusive system, all drinks are served free of charge for breakfast, lunch and dinner. But half board, for example, does not include drinks; they must be paid for separately.
Complex infrastructure
The hotel has receptionists available 24 hours a day. There is a main restaurant and a pool bar on site. If necessary, you can use the conference room, laundry, and storage room. For hotel guests there is free parking, if desired, you can rent a car.
In the building of the neighboring hotel 4R Salou Park Resort II, which is also part of the 4R network, there is a paid Gym and SPA center. They are located at the zero level of the body.

Hotel beach

Resort benefits
If you have chosen Spain as your holiday destination, Costa Dorada (Salou) may be one of the best options. The Spanish coast is known for its stunning beaches and crystal clear sea. However beach holiday- this is not the only thing worth visiting this extraordinary country for. Spain has a long and rich history, and therefore there are many monuments and simply beautiful ones, interesting places which are definitely worth seeing.
4R Salou Park Resort 3* has a good location. We have already mentioned that there is a bus stop next to the complex, from where you can get to all the most interesting places that tourists like to visit.
Salou is considered the most “Russian” resort in all of Spain. From May to the end of October the coast is full of life and activity. During the walk you can walk along King Jaime Boulevard. A favorite place for young people in Salou is an amusement park called Port Aventura, which is famous for its water park with its cool and amazing slides. Every year, according to tradition, the “Golden Nights” are celebrated in mid-August. They are accompanied by massive street celebrations and a beautiful fireworks show. Such holidays are held quite often in the town.
Local Attractions
Almost everyone is located on its embankment. In the evening, in the light of the night lights, the fountains begin to “sing”.
Vacationers can visit the Museum of Modern Art, located in the Old Fortress from the time of the Saracen raids (16th century). The best way to see Salou is to travel around it on a tourist train.
The resort will also be of interest to lovers of active nightlife. Most of the nightclubs are concentrated on Playa Ponente beach. There are noisy parties here every day, famous DJs perform. The most popular club on the Costa Dorada is Pacha.

Summing up the conversation about the Salou Park Hotel, I would like to turn to the reviews of those vacationers who managed to visit here. According to tourists, the main advantage of the complex is its excellent location. The beach is just a couple of minutes walk. To go down to the shore, you need to go through 111 steps. This is not at all burdensome, but older people may not find it very comfortable.
The coast is very beautiful and clean. But sunbeds and umbrellas on the beach are quite expensive (17 euros). There are many in Salou beautiful beaches, which are all worth seeing. Each has its own characteristics and deserves attention.
The hotel itself is nothing special inside. Everything is quite simple and concise. No impressive lobby or lounge.
The rooms in the complex are good and clean. The furniture is quite simple, but without any defects. Most of the apartments have beautiful sea views. The rooms are cleaned daily and efficiently. But for some reason the hotel does not provide beach towels; they simply do not issue them. Some tourists prefer to tip the maids, but this is their personal preference.

We took breakfast and dinner, I was usually disappointed in 4* a good choice but not in this hotel, it’s very monotonous and not tasty. My friends stayed in the 3* 4R Playa next door, their dinner was much more varied, with seafood, barbecue, etc.
Good location, close to the beach, shops, not far from PortoVentura and Ferrari Park.

We had a wonderful room overlooking the sea. Great room. Comfortable beds, change of towels every day. Spacious shower. Air conditioning worked. The TV didn't work, but we didn't need it on vacation. I would especially like to thank the chefs. The food exceeded all our expectations. I have never had such a varied menu in any hotel. I was on holiday in Salou for the fourth time, in different hotels. The menu had a lot of meat, seafood, and pastries. BRAVO! I would also like to note the evening performances by artists. Every evening was unique. I especially remember the evening when the artists performed and danced the Spanish flamenco passion dance!

1. If the room has windows overlooking the pool, then there is no view, and moreover, there is a hotel opposite, where you can see what they are doing opposite. You can see everything in the room if the curtains are not closed; 2. There was no hood in the restroom; 3. The towels were not new and sometimes had holes or stains; 4. Very noisy from 9 pm to 12 midnight due to karaoke and entertainment program under the windows. It was impossible to sleep and rest in the evening; 5. Double cabin separate; 6. The restaurant is practically without windows on the 1st floor, there are no tables on the street or with a beautiful view. 7. There are steps to get to the beach, since the hotel is on a hill; 8. Safe and refrigerator are paid (but this is normal for Spain); 9. There are a lot of people at the resort (were there from 09/07 to 09/17).
1. Very tasty and varied food! Eat seafood a couple of times a week (shrimp, crabs, lobsters, snails, crayfish, mussels). There are always 2 chefs who prepare fresh meat and fish, and in the morning pancakes, bacon and scrambled eggs. Always a good selection of salads, desserts, dishes. Separate children's and diet menus. There is ice cream in the evening, and yogurt in the morning. Fruits included nectarines, peaches, bananas, apples, pineapple, apricots and delicious watermelon and melon. 2. The location is good. Near Auchan, where inexpensive products (jamon (from 1 € per 100g), cheese, wine, fruit, fresh pastries). Close to a smaller beach and 7 minutes to the main beach. Despite the fact that this is almost the edge of the resort, everything is close and access to the main street with shops is 100 meters away. Moreover, there is a stop next to the hotel from which you can go to the airport, Teragona, Reus, Port Aventura, which is very convenient :) The sea and the beach are clean. 3. Cleaning the rooms. The room was cleaned every day and new towels were provided, and the towels were changed once a week. Also, toiletries were updated daily (shampoo, gel, soap, body lotion). 4. The reception staff speaks English, Spanish and Russian. They will always tell you where and how to get there. 5. Free internet throughout the hotel. 6. New evening program throughout the week, there are activities every day with animation and a disco for children.

It seemed to me that the girls at the reception were not very friendly. Of course this doesn't apply to everyone.
What I liked most was the food. We ordered full board. Everything is always fresh and tasty. Very nice staff in the restaurant. Thank you. Cleaning every day. They clean up very carefully. Next year I am going to return to this hotel.

We were at the hotel from 08/06/19 to 08/20/19. The staff is not very friendly, despite the fact that we warned that we have Honeymoon, we were put in a room with single beds pushed together of different heights... Naturally, at the reception they said that they couldn’t do anything. Upon check-in, the shower was broken, which was only fixed in the evening, and there were problems with the toilet, which was fixed the next day. The rooms are large, quite clean upon check-in, but the cleaning during your stay is not very good, the floors were washed 2 times in 2 weeks and it was as if they had been constantly wet. Every day at lunch the whole room began to smell like sewage for several hours. Wi-Fi generally works slowly, good speed is mostly only in the morning. Swimming pools on both sides of the hotel, the round pool is constantly crowded, very muddy water. I really liked the second pool, it was interestingly designed and much cleaner. We took half board and did not regret it, the food was good, but quite monotonous, it would have been difficult to eat almost the same thing for lunch and dinner for 2 weeks. Drinks for dinner are paid (as everywhere else in principle), and everything would be fine, but about 3 euros for a bottle of water is too much. The entertainment program for the evening was planned for the week, but every evening before and after these programs we listened to the same repeated children's songs that drove us crazy. We also had a spa included, where there was a hammam and a sauna (no questions about them), a cold pool (it was actually warm), all sorts of massage showers (boiling water flowed from where you couldn’t stand for more than a couple of seconds). One plus - we were alone in the spa, apparently there were no visitors there.

After 11 pm there is no place to even drink coffee. Everything is closing. And the nearest shops too. If you haven’t stocked up on water, you’ll have to wait until the morning. And nowhere was it written that there were steep stairs to the beach. You don't run here and there.

Interesting entertainment, active and fun games are organized for adults and children by the hotel's animation team. There is a daytime and evening program available, which is conducted primarily in English.
On sunny days, near the pool, the animation organizes sports activities and various games for teenagers and adults. IN rainy days animation takes place in the bar. In the evening, all guests are invited to a show with dancing and performances by artists. Karaoke, comedy shows and an open disco are held periodically. Evening animation, as a rule, lasts until midnight, and after that the entire territory of the complex is immersed in peace and quiet.
On the territory of the hotel there is a small playground for children, which has one slide and 3 swings.

Beach
150 meters from the hotel there is a beautiful and clean beach, covered with soft and pleasant to the touch sand. To get to it, you need to go down the stairs. The entrance to the sea is convenient. The beach is municipal. Therefore, sun loungers and sun umbrellas are available for a fee. There is a bar on the beach where you can buy soft drinks and water for a relatively low cost. Not far from the recreation area there is a children's playground, toilet and shower.
The hotel complex does not provide beach towels to vacationers. You can buy them in one of the city stores or bring them with you from home. In their reviews, tourists advise choosing the second option, since in local stores large beach towels cost at least 20 euros.
