What could be better on a warm autumn day than to come to a nice place, where you can walk and breathe fresh air, barbecue, and in the evening drink tea and play board games with your closest people in a cozy house? When the trees begin to beautifully turn golden, the air in the morning is invigorating and instantly wakes you up, and there is peace and quiet in the area, you want to soak up every moment.

So we realized that we really want such moments, and for this we need to go to nature, somewhere where it is very nice. It’s already a little cold in the tent and I don’t want to get sick at all, so we started looking for recreation centers not very far from St. Petersburg, preferably near the water, in quiet place and with a cottage. To be honest, we didn’t look for a long time. Last year, also in the fall, we came for a walk to these parts (this is the Priozersky district), but ended up on the other side of the Burnaya River. Then we saw cute houses with gazebos opposite. I remember thinking: “Oooh, what a good and beautiful place, I need to find out what kind of base this is.” It turned out to be a recreation center "Golden shore", and I really wanted to go there. And so it happened. True, only after a year. And I didn’t regret it one bit!

There are two types of accommodation in the Gold Coast - romantic bungalows(for 2-4 people) and cottages(up to 7 people). I keep dreaming about bungalows, they look so cool and cozy. I love this. We definitely want to come here together sometime and spend a romantic weekend. Each house has its own grill and table with a bench. Here's what they look like, by the way.

But now there were five of us, so we needed a cottage. And here he is!

Some important and technical details.

The cottages are located on some elevation, and beautiful wooden stairs go down to the gazebos and the river. I would like to add that this did not cause us any inconvenience at all. We carried food and dishes to the gazebo, no one fell. On the contrary, I even liked this landscape. You stand on the veranda of the cottage, drink tea and coffee, and in front of you the river sparkles and you have a view of a clearing with cute gazebos. Beauty!

A gazebo is not included in the cottage rental price. That is, you can dine at home or on the veranda. There is also a grill next to the house, right next to the porch, which is convenient. But if, like us, you want to sit in a covered gazebo on the river bank, then you need to rent it separately and in advance. As I understand it, you can come there without booking accommodation in a cottage. The same applies to the bathhouse that is available here. We didn’t go to the bathhouse, we simply wouldn’t have had time.

The Burnaya River originates from Lake Sukhodolskoye and flows into Lake Ladoga. As I understand it, this place is ideal for fishermen. There are a lot of them here! So, those who like to cast a fishing rod, take note. 🙂

The cottage has two rooms. One of them has two single beds, the other has the same beds, but they are located one above the other. The one below can be folded out (it's a sofa) and can fit two people. Plus a folding sofa in the living room. A total of seven people.

The equipped kitchen is combined with the living room. There is also a TV and a table by the window. Of course, to the river. Bathroom with bath. There were no problems with water pressure and temperature. The only advice from me: take it with you drinking water in sufficient quantities for you, we were not warned that the water was technical (there was a warning in the cottage). Maybe nothing would have happened if we had drunk tea with tap water, but it’s still better to be on the safe side.

And now about the most important pleasures, for which we have all gathered here. Our vacation plan was as follows: we arrive, settle down and immediately start preparing for dinner with the obligatory chicken skewers (I personally like chicken more than meat, so I talked everyone into it). This time we tried baking champignons for the first time - delicious!

We have dinner in the gazebo until dark. Then we go to drink tea in the house and play “Alias” - this is my favorite game for guessing the words being described. If you haven't played it, be sure to buy it, it's super fun!

Our plan was not disrupted. Somewhere in between these activities, we managed to take another walk through the dark forest. It was funny. And it’s not scary at all, with such a crowd. 😆

Yes, I almost forgot that at the end of a cloudy day the sun was setting. Look how beautiful it is!

In the morning I wanted to get up early to watch the sunrise. Of course, I couldn’t get up right at dawn—I went to bed late, but I still left the house a little before eight. It was a very beautiful morning. The sun was shining on the opposite bank, the fishermen were already getting ready for their fishing business on boats (and someone was already on the river), +6 degrees Celsius, and not cold at all. But the problem is the lack of wind. This weekend we were very lucky with the weather - complete calm on Ladoga! And this is very cool, because the winds near Ladoga are usually harsh.

While the others were sleeping, I walked a little along the shore with my camera. The base really has a very advantageous location - there are gorgeous surroundings pine forests, in the distance the exit to open Ladoga, the river is nearby.

It's the end of September and the crocuses are still blooming.

And in the fall you can find mushrooms right on the territory of the base! We met a couple of white people. And, of course, handsome fly agarics!

We still haven’t decided whether it’s a fly mushroom or a porcini mushroom. There was definitely a white one growing nearby, but this one raised doubts. But he's handsome!

Then there was breakfast. How great it is to drink coffee in the fresh air with a stunning view and not think about anything!

You can also have a small cozy photo shoot. The place is conducive. I don’t want to rush, listen to music, surf the Internet. We were lucky - there were almost no people. We saw almost no one except fishermen.

By the way, if you walk a little along the coast from the cottages, you can come to the beach. It's probably very good to swim here in the summer - the entrance is sandy. And now you can just admire the calm surface of the water.

At the end of the walk a rainbow appeared! And just before leaving, the weather showed how it can change dramatically - clouds rolled in and it began to rain, as if driving us home. But the place itself is very soulful, I didn’t want to leave. I'm sure we will come again. I think it's fabulous here in winter.

The base is located close to the city (1-1.5 hours drive), which is very convenient. At the same time, there is perfect nature all around! If you want, go for a walk, if you want, sit in a house or in a gazebo. I’m writing these lines and already want to go back...
