In 1934, the Sinara Pipe Plant was launched, which adopted the traditions of the old iron foundry. On April 20, 1935, the village received city status. In 1939, the Ural Aluminum Plant was built in the city. In June 1940, Kamensk was renamed Kamensk-Uralsky.

During the Great Patriotic War, the Ural Aluminum Plant was the only aluminum plant in the country that provided aviation. On May 5, 1944, the Kamensk-Ural Metallurgical Plant came into operation. Modern Kamensk-Uralsky is one of the most developed industrial cities in the Sverdlovsk region.
