Good afternoon to flower lovers, gardeners and all those who are reading me now! Waterfalls stream clear blue waterfall

There is very little time left before the onset of spring and soon I will start choosing seeds for planting seedlings of my favorite flower - petunia. And now I want to talk about the beautiful large-flowered cascading terry hybrid that I grew last summer - this Petunia "Blue Waterfall" from the agricultural company AELITA.

Seeds AELITA Petunia "Blue Waterfall"

Petunia is one of the most beautiful plants for decorating a personal plot, balconies and loggias. I am attracted to this flower by the variety of shades and varieties, the duration of flowering, and the possibility of placement in flowerpots, flowerpots, and containers.

Petunia "Blue Waterfall" in the garden

"Blue Waterfall" F1 belongs to the large-flowered petunias, its flowers reach 12 cm in diameter, double, not demanding of care, not tall - reaches about 40 cm. At the beginning of growth, the shoots grow upward, then under the weight of the flowers they fall to the sides (cascading). The stem is powerful and elastic. It is difficult to find a more beautiful and unpretentious flower for decorating flower beds, balconies and loggias. Photo "Blue Waterfall" F1 on my balcony:

Petunia "Blue Falls" on my balcony

I bought petunia at a price of 76 rubles, I think the price is too high for such a number of seeds (10 pieces). The seeds were in a shell and were in a small flask.

The granules are placed on the surface of the soil, without covering them, and are well moistened with a spray bottle. When moisture gets on the granule, the shell should dissolve. The crops are covered with glass to maintain constant humidity until full germination.

I grow petunia to decorate the balcony and garden. Seeds petunias "Blue Waterfall" from the agricultural company AELITA I sowed them in mid-March in peat tablets (germination rate when planted in them is 100%), they all sprouted. The number of seeds, as is usually the case with hybrids, is ten pieces. But this is quite enough for me. When my petunias grew a little, I transplanted them into large plastic cups, one in each cup. At the beginning of summer, I also planted petunias one at a time in one large pot, and three in containers. Some of the plants remained on the balcony, while others were taken to my own garden plot.

Petunia, unlike other flowers, has a great advantage: starting to bloom in May, it blooms until late autumn, forming more and more new buds. In my garden plot, the flowering period lasted until October, on the glazed balcony even longer - until November (while it was snowing outside). Photo "Blue Waterfall" in the country:

The shade, as you can see, differs from that indicated on the seed package: my petunia is specifically blue, but in the photo AELITES she's purple. But I don’t consider this a drawback, since my plants have grown luxurious, and their color does not matter at all. The shape of the flower matches that shown in the picture.

This is how he describes it petunia "Blue Waterfall" F1 seed producer:

A hybrid with huge, densely double flowers, 10-13 cm, in the shape of a carnation. With fast, vigorous growth - it blooms 2-3 weeks earlier than similar old varieties and hybrids. The bush is more compact, with a genetically inherent tendency to good branching of shoots. The fabric of the petals is dense, the flowers do not lose their decorative effect in rainy weather. The hybrid is ideal for container growing, including hanging. Grown through seedlings.

Purchasing petunia seeds from AELITES I was very pleased. Flowers made me happy all summer. I liked the compactness of the plant, its shape and color, and its ease of care. The only negative is that the hybrid does not produce seeds, and you have to buy them every year.

Also, in this wonderful plant I am amazed by the variety of colors and many varieties and hybrids. Therefore, along with this hybrid, I also grew such petunias from AELITES, How "Taffeta F1" And "Crimson whim F1", which I will definitely write about in future reviews.

About other petunias:

Tis-Ysat or Tis Abbay waterfalls are the real pride of Ethiopia, one of the most famous natural attractions of this country. These waterfalls provide clear evidence of the power of the Blue Nile, which is part of the long river planets.

Translated from the Amharic language, the name of these waterfalls is translated as “smoking water,” which immediately speaks of the peculiarity of this phenomenon. To see the Blue Nile waterfalls you need to go to Ethiopia, to the city of Bahir Dar, thirty kilometers from which, near the village of Tis Abbay, there is this attraction created by nature itself.

By the way, during this trip you can also see the nearby Lake Tana, the most large lake Ethiopia, from which, in fact, the Blue Nile flows.

Tis-Ysat waterfalls are a real cascade. At the top is the most big waterfall, striking in its power, and below are several small ones. The height of this cascade of waterfalls is different places ranges from 37 to 45 meters. The width of the waterfall depends on the amount of precipitation and different time year can range from 100 to 400 meters.

After two hydroelectric dams were built on the Blue Nile in the 1960s, the power of the falls was slightly reduced. But even now they amaze with their greatness. In addition, a rainbow often forms over the Blue Nile Falls, which many foreign tourists love to photograph.

Yes, don’t forget to visit another local attraction - just below the waterfall, in a deep gorge, is the oldest stone bridge in Ethiopia, built by missionaries from Portugal back in 1626.

Blue waterfalls on the Chistoe stream- are still little known to a wide range of lovers of studying the region. Located a few kilometers from the railway. Krivenkovskaya station, near the southern outskirts of the village of Indyuk, Tuapse district. The Chisty stream is the right tributary of the Chelipsi River. The upper part of the stream is characteristic of many neighboring valleys - a gorge-like narrowing, a developed gully-beam network. The path is not clearly legible, it runs from bank to bank, small waterfalls appear with beautiful, water-eaten baths, formed by smoothed clay shales. It becomes more difficult to go further. The first waterfall is 8 meters high, just below there is a round lake. The 2nd waterfall is small - 3.5 m high. And finally, the final goal of the day is a majestic 18-meter waterfall, bringing down a stream of water down the clay-marl layer. The greatest width of the stream when measured with students of the Faculty of Geography of KubSU was 2.5 m, the smallest (in the middle part of the waterfall) was 1.5 m. Rocks (blue clay, marl) lie almost perpendicular to the surface of the earth. Rich vegetation. The upper tier of the forest is occupied by sessile oak, walnut, and alder. Lots of hazel. Several species of mosses, lichens, and centipede foliage have taken root on the rocks.

The waterfalls are called “Blue” by local residents, apparently due to the outcrops of blue clay on the surface.

From the highway to the waterfalls it takes 1.5 hours. From the railway Krivenkovskaya station (round trip) the journey takes 15-16 km. This includes a 5-6 hour break.

á Description from the book "Guide to Kuban" by A. Samoilenko.

from admin. In July 2007 we decided to visit these waterfalls. From the highway, a good gravel road goes along the right (or.) bank of the river to the WWII monument. Further, the road deteriorates; timber trucks often carry timber along it; many times it passes from bank to bank. Soon, on a tree to the right of the road, there is a sign “resting place” (apparently someone removed it from the road). There is an apiary here (be careful - dogs and a not entirely sober watchman with small things;) Then the road leads to the lumberjacks' cabin and soon climbs sharply onto the ridge (to the right along the way). We need to walk along the newly laid portage along the river. Soon the portage is lost, we just walk along the river bed, often we need to wade or walk straight through the water. Lots of rubble.

The mighty Nile, the main waterway of the African continent, is fed by many large tributaries - among them the Blue Nile, which irrigates the lands of Ethiopia for 800 km. It originates in Lake Tana and 30 km downstream forms majestic cascades - the Blue Nile Falls, also known as Tis-Ysat or Tis-Abbay, after the name of the nearest village. It is the largest waterfall in Ethiopia and the second largest in Africa after Zambia's Victoria.

At different times, the natural attraction was visited by many famous personalities, including the traveler James Bruce and Queen Elizabeth II.

What to see

A winding path leads to the Blue Nile Falls, passing through small gorges and making its way through the Ethiopian jungle. The ascent will take about 30 minutes with a local guide - it’s easy to get lost here alone, because there are no signs for tourists. The Blue Nile can be heard from afar: the cascades have not yet appeared, but the sound of rushing water already indicates the power of the water flow. The height of the waterfalls reaches 45 m, and the width is up to 400 m, depending on the season; During periods of drought, the flow weakens and the walls of the gorge are exposed.

In the 60s In the last century, the authorities built two hydroelectric power stations upstream of the river, and the waterfalls became significantly shallower - but even now they look truly impressive.

The Blue Nile Cascades, despite the catchy name, are not blue at all, but rather yellow-brown - this color is characteristic of the entire Nile basin, but the stream falling from a great height appears snow-white. Tis-Issat translated from Amharic ( state language Ethiopia) means “smoking water”: indeed, the cloud of spray rising from the stormy waters creates the illusion of a smoke screen. Thanks to the bright sun, rainbows often appear here.

Not far from the waterfalls there is an ancient stone bridge built by Portuguese adventurers in 1626.

The jungle around the gorge is full of colorful birds and adventurous monkeys, and a myriad of insects buzz in the air. The waterfalls are relatively calm - local children and souvenir sellers prefer to wait for tourists closer to the village. Some adventurous travelers even camp in a tent close to the rushing stream, but due to the agile local fauna, this is best avoided without the support of local guides.

This miracle of nature is still little known to most tourists and not only them. Many people specifically come to these places to study nature and have not been there either. Waterfalls can be found near the Krivenkovskaya railway station, in the southern outskirts of the village of Indyuk in the Tuapse region.

Clean Brook

The Chisty Brook is one of the tributaries of the Chelipsi River, connecting with it on the right. In its upper part, the stream has little to attract attention: it narrows in gorges, flows through ravines and gullies. You can’t really see the path; he jumps from one bank to the other. The beauty of the stream is revealed further, these are the waterfalls, natural baths of clay shale, filled with clear water. Further the path becomes more complicated. The first waterfall on the way is eight meters high, below is a round lake, further along the route is the second of the waterfalls, it is lower, 3.5 m. but that’s not all, the main course is the third, 18m high, picturesque large waterfall with a rapid flow. The rocks that form the rock here are marl and blue clay; they lie, one might say, perpendicular to the ground. The flora around is lush and rich. In the upper tiers grow mighty oaks, alder, hazel, and walnut trees. The rocks are overgrown with moss and lichen.
Perhaps the name “Blue” waterfalls could have been due to the clay visible from the surface. It gives a special flavor.

How to get there

If you move from the highway to the stream, it is about a kilometer or more. In total, the round trip is 16 km, taking more than 5 hours.
You can walk from the highway along a gravel road leading along the river bed. Walk to the monument to war heroes standing there. After this the road is worse; large trucks often carry timber along it, leaving holes. You can meet a watchman nearby. Locals in the village they will be happy to advise the route to tourists coming there for the first time. Blue waterfalls are a unique gift of nature.
