Going on vacation to Sochi or Adler and not visiting the Krasnaya Polyana mountain resort, now known as Rosa Khutor, is unforgivable stupidity. Moreover, this wonderful place is not so far away. But how to get there? Even those tourists who arrived to the Black Sea coast by car prefer to leave their iron horses in the parking lots - there are too many twisting turns along the way. The most convenient and fastest transport to get to the mountain resort is the Russian Railways high-speed train “Lastochka”. Adler - Rosa Khutor - not her entire route. The train leaves from Sochi. Along the way, she makes a detour to pick up passengers from Adler airport directly to the mountain resort. Then she drives into the seaside town itself, at the railway station. In this article we will tell you what opportunities vacationers in Adler and Krasnaya Polyana have to use this train.

What were the previous disadvantages of “Swallow” and how were they corrected?

The most important inconvenience that passengers experienced was the lack of early and evening flights. Those who came from Adler on the Lastochka to Rosa Khutor risked staying there overnight. Passengers simply stormed the last train. Those who went to Esto-Sadok had to go to the final stop “Rosa Khutor” to board the train. From December 2017, a new train schedule came into force. It is still far from ideal, but there are noticeable improvements compared to the old one. Firstly, there are already eight Lastochek trains running on the route Sochi - Adler - Rosa Khutor. This helped relieve the load on trains. Secondly, last summer a direct train “Lastochka” was launched, running from Krasnodar to Krasnaya Polyana. In addition, the ski area itself has its own train, delivering passengers from the Imereti resort and to Esto-Sadok.

New schedule of the Lastochka train (Adler - Rosa Khutor)

It will take only 48 minutes to drive from the Black Sea coast to the ski resort. The first train leaves the railway station at 7:58. He arrives at the final station at 8:46. This is the most convenient flight if you want to devote the whole day to the mountains. Couldn't catch the first train? No problem: the second one starts at nine in the morning. In addition, vacationers have the opportunity to take the Krasnodar - Rosa Khutor train. "Swallow" makes a nine-minute stop in Adler and leaves for the mountains at 11:10. Almost immediately it is followed in the same direction by a train from the airport. It departs from the railway station in Adler at 11:19. Then there is a lull. The first "Swallow" of the afternoon leaves for Rosa Khutor at half past one. Then there is another train at 14:38. The last train leaves for Krasnaya Polyana at 18:06. This is the main flaw in the schedule. Those who come to the sea for an excursion on a tourist boat risk not getting to their mountain hotel.

Rosa Khutor - Adler: schedule

The first train towards the sea leaves at ten in the morning. And by eleven, vacationers in the mountains can get to the beach. The next “Swallow” (Rosa Khutor - Adler) departs at 14:51. Thus, those who came only to look at the ski resort and not to ski there can go back immediately after lunch. For those who are late for this train, there is another one, starting at five o'clock in the evening. Literally eight minutes after it, the charter Lastochka departs for Krasnodar, making a stop in Adler at 17:51. And at six o'clock in the evening the train leaves for Adler airport. She stops at the city's train station at seven. It is followed by the 19:15 train. The last train from Krasnaya Polyana towards Sochi leaves at 21:26. Thus, tourists who want to ski but live by the sea can use the whole day for their pleasure.

Ticket price for "Swallow"

With the introduction of the new schedule, fares also changed. Now a ticket for an adult traveling from Sochi to Krasnaya Polyana costs 335.8 rubles. Children under five years old travel for free, and older children - for 168 rubles. The cost of a ticket for the Lastochka from Adler to Rosa Khutor is much lower. The price of an adult ticket is 234 rubles, and a child ticket is 117. But this cost is valid if you board the train at the station. If you start from Adler airport, the ticket price increases slightly: 280.56 for adults and 140.30 for children. You will have to pay an additional fifty rubles for luggage or a bicycle, regardless of the distance of the trip. The Lastochka train (Krasnodar - Rosa Khutor) includes carriages of different levels of comfort. Therefore, prices for it range from 570 to 950 rubles.
