Where is the best place to watch fireworks on City Day?

Moscow will celebrate 871 years since its founding. Residents and guests of the capital will enjoy many events at dozens of city venues, and the culmination will be the festive fireworks, which will thunder on September 8 at 21:00. On City Day, several tens of thousands of volleys consisting of gold, silver, blue, green, red and purple sparks will be launched into the sky over the capital. They will form patterns in the form of peonies, palm trees, chrysanthemums, flowers made of gold threads and hearts.

The organizers of the pyrotechnic show prepared two types of fireworks. High-altitude fireworks displays will be organized at 13 city sites, and in 17 parks, pyrotechnics will operate at different height levels.

High altitude fireworks:
  • water area of ​​the Moscow River, Luzhniki, opposite the BSA, barge;
  • Moskvoretskaya street, at the base of the Bolshoi Moskvoretsky Bridge;
  • Victory Park, Poklonnaya Gora, Partisan Alley;
  • Novo-Peredelkino, Fedosino street, house No. 18, on the shore of the pond;
  • water area of ​​the Moscow River, Pechatniki district, opposite Guryanova Street, house No. 31, barge;
  • Levoberezhny district, Festivalnaya street, building No. 2B, Druzhby Park;
  • Izmailovo district - town named after Bauman;
  • Central alley of VDNKh;
  • Roslovka street, house No. 5 (in the territory of the Mitino landscape park behind the Aquamarine sports and recreation center);
  • Yuzhnoye Butovo district (vacant land on Kadyrov Street);
  • Moscow city, Sports Center "Moskovsky";
  • Ozernaya Alley, house No. 4, building No. 2;

In 2018, fireworks will be launched in all districts of the city, so you can admire the show from almost anywhere in the capital. In addition, you can come to one of the traditional observation platforms, from which you can observe several different volleys at once:

  • Zhivopisny Bridge;
  • Fountain-monument "Third Transport Ring";
  • Observation deck of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Leninsky Prospekt, building No. 32A, building No. 1);
  • "Luzhniki", observation deck Sparrow Hills, Kosygina street;
  • Roof gate in Gorky Park (you must purchase a ticket in advance).
Watch the fireworks from a comfortable place on the bridges over the river; from there you always have a wonderful view of most of the capital's fireworks. The Pushkinsky, Krymsky, Patriarchal bridges are suitable for this, as well as the Bagration and Bogdan Khmelnitsky bridge, which is located a stone's throw from the Kievskaya metro station (next to Europe Square).

And if you want to be very high, then the most suitable option for you would be such places as restaurants and the observation deck in Moscow City (ticket required), restaurants on the roof of the Beijing, Ukraine, Korston hotels, business center Central City Tower and Lotte Plaza.

Where possible, be sure to book your seats in advance as all viewing platforms will be very crowded.
