Curonian Spit, fishing village. The beautiful village of Rybachye. Crimea knows how to surprise How to get to fishing Crimea by car

On the site where the village of Rybachy is now located, in 1372 the knights of the Teutonic Order founded Rossitten Castle, which was necessary to control the road to Memelburg (today Klaipeda). In addition, knights who carried out the usual raids on Lithuania stayed in this castle.

At the end of the 14th century there was a small stud farm here, and fishing was done here in the bay and sea. And at the beginning of the 15th century, a brick factory began operating on the territory of the castle, the products of which were exported to Königsberg and Memelburg.

After peace was concluded with the Lithuanians in the mid-15th century, the castle ceased to be used as a military facility, and a German settlement formed around it, which became the center of the village of Rossitten. The inhabitants of Rossitten were engaged in fishing and farming.

In the 19th century, the village became popular among summer residents. In 1901, the world's first ornithological station was founded here. And after the First World War, glider pilots set records in these places. After World War II, the administration of the Curonian Spit was located in Rossitten, renamed Rybachy.

Today the village of Rybachy, located 67 km. from Kaliningrad, is a small settlement built up, for the most part, with private houses.

The main sectors of the economy are fishing and tourism. There is a pier for fishing and tourist boats on the Curonian Lagoon.

In the center of the village there is a former Lutheran church, built at the end of the 19th century, which houses the Orthodox Church of St. Sergius of Radonezh.

In the village cemetery you can see the graves of Franz Ef, who led the strengthening of the local dunes, and Johannes Thienemann, the founder of the ornithological station, which operates in Rybachye to this day.

Vacationers come to the village all year round: to sunbathe, swim, fish in the Curonian Lagoon and the Baltic Sea, take walks through the forest and many kilometers of beaches, among the dunes, etc.

The village has shops, a cultural and leisure center, a library, a post office, several open and closed cafes operating in the summer, a stadium, several guest houses and - in large numbers - private houses ready to receive guests.

Having left Murmansk, we went west along the road to Pechenga. By the way, this road is part of the European route E-105 Kirkenes (Norway) - Yalta (Ukraine).

The first stop is a visit to the Valley of Glory memorial.

Valley of Glory- the valley of the Zapadnaya Litsa River, where in 1941 there were fierce battles at the forefront of the attack of German troops trying to break through to Murmansk.

On July 2, 1941, the Germans approached the river and on the morning of July 6, having a significant superiority in manpower and equipment, crossed the Western Litsa. However, they managed to penetrate the battle formations of the Red Army only 2-3 kilometers, after which a counterattack by the 52nd Infantry Division followed. The second German offensive on Murmansk on September 8, 1941 also ended in failure.

As of the early 1980s, more than 1,500 soldiers and commanders of the Red Army were buried here. Since then, burials of the remains found by search teams have been carried out repeatedly. In total, more than 6,000 defenders were buried in mass graves along the Murmansk-Pechenga road Arctic.

The weather is fabulous. Temperature +28...

The granite panels of the memorial clearly explain the course of hostilities.

All military units that defended the Arctic and liberated it from the Germans are listed.

We document everything...

This was the original monument at the mass grave, erected in the post-war years.

“Thanks to” local search engines, there are more graves every year...

Poignant inscriptions left by fighters throughout the country are immortalized in granite...

Finally, we leave the asphalt and settle down for a short rest on the banks of the Titovka River. The photo shows the river valley. (Nothing has changed in the access regime at the border post - Russian passport, and forward.)

The passage of the “gate to Rybachy” should be celebrated. What major drinks!

The cascade of three waterfalls is called Melnichny. Although these are the ruins of not a mill, but a power plant. The hydroelectric power station on Titovka was built in 1948-1949 and provided electricity to a military unit stationed nearby.

Perhaps the most famous military builders of the Soviet Union.

Below, in the wreckage of the hydroelectric power station, a turbine was tightly jammed.

Some terribly useful piece of hardware. Maybe German... Maybe DR - Deutsche Reichsbahn? ;) There is such goodness here at every step...

Titovka constantly brings skeins of thorn ashore, both ours and German.

The middle of the Titovsky rapids. In spring, when there is an order of magnitude more water, the spectacle is more grandiose.

Lower Titovsky threshold. You can’t come here in the spring, but now the stone ridge is dry.

And trees grow on the stones. The pine tree is breaking through...

Before reaching the pass through Musta-Tunturi We turn onto the German road, which was built during the war to supply Wehrmacht units. This road currently has many names, the most common being “Old German”, Porovaarovskaya... Although the official name is “Schwabenweg” - Swabian Road, the Germans gave the roads their own names in memory of something. The beginning of the road and numbering of kilometers is from Petsamo. The end of the road is KP "Nord".

The section of the road from Staraya Titovka, along the river to the ridge and Kutovaya Bay is "Titowkastrasse", and from the well-known fork before the pass to KP Nord and a little further to the ridge - the Bavarian Road (Bayern-Weg). By the way, "Russenstrasse" is the road to Murmansk. See German road map below.

More information about these roads -.

Scheme of German roads in the Petsamo - Musta-Tunturi - Titovka area

Typical landscape in the foothills of Musta-Tunturi.

We couldn’t resist and climbed into the water right from the German road. The water is clean and invigorating.

On the slope to the right and above there was a part of the German command post "Nord".

And this is a view from above of the road and the Nord checkpoint, only 70 years ago.

The Germans left beautiful roads...

We pull into the parking lot...

Sunset over the lake Ustojärvi.

And in 2 hours - dawn...

Still lifes from the series "Echoes of War"...

German mortar.

We stood in the place of three batteries at once: an artillery battery and two mortar batteries of different calibers.

There was a great connection on this pebble.

It’s worth mentioning separately about mobile communications in Rybachy and the surrounding area.

All the big three are working fine. But! In most cases - in roaming.

When you enter Sredniy you receive an SMS: Beeline welcomes you to Norway. That is, in his opinion, this is already abroad. And roaming tariffs in Norway are wow. You can get there especially well with the Internet turned on. In Russia it’s unlimited, for a hundred rubles a month, but then roaming will kick in and hello.

You can also get into roaming in the ridge area Musta-Tunturi. On one hill there is Russia, and on the next one there is Norway.

Someone gave Norway a hefty piece of the Russian shelf, mobile operators believe that the border area is already Norway... where is the world heading...

Lake Ustoyarvi..

The so-called “Dietl’s house” is actually the house of doctors located at the Nord base of the infirmary. (Dietl is a German colonel general, commander of the 20th Mountain Army)

Lake in the tundra...
