How to keep your usual phone number when switching to Tele2?

Every person strives to reduce communication costs, and Tele2 offers truly competitive tariffs. It is quite possible to take advantage of the chance to really save money and switch to this operator with your previously registered number, for example, to the MTS company. For more than 2 years, Tele2 has been transferring subscribers from the most common Russian operators while maintaining the same user number. It doesn’t matter which mobile operator (MTS, Beeline or Megafon) the transfer will be made, this procedure is identical in all cases.

Transition options

Option #1. Come to the nearest company office and write an application for transfer; for this you only need a passport. Our specialists will help you draw up an agreement and choose the most suitable and profitable tariff for you. After concluding the contract, you will be able to immediately receive a new SIM card.

To switch to the services of a new operator, you must undergo a verification procedure for possible debt to your previous communications provider.

It is worth repaying all debts to the previous operator (MTS, Megafon) in advance and deactivating all paid services. After checking the number, Tele2 will receive an SMS message about the transition time and a reminder that you need to insert a new SIM card at the specified time. After this, you will be able to use the services of the new operator in full. Usually the whole process takes up to 8 days.

The service is available for both individuals and organizations. For legal entities and corporate clients (transferring 50 or more numbers at the same time), the transition period is longer - up to 29 days.

Option #2. You can independently apply to switch to Tele2 while maintaining your number on the company’s official website. There is a whole page dedicated to this, where the entire procedure is described in detail and there is a special form for submitting an application.

You should receive a SIM card and switch to a new operator at the service center that was selected when filling out the form. In this case, you may need a passport.

After the transition: some nuances

  1. The personal service management account registered with the previous operator (MTS, Megafon, Beeline) will be unavailable. You will need to create a new one on the official Tele2 website.
  2. In some cases, in order to switch to a new network, you will have to pay an additional fee for number transfer; it should not exceed the amount of 100 rubles. More information about this can be found in the offices or in the network help desk by calling 611.
  3. For some time, various services will confuse the new operator with the old one (MTS, Megafon, etc.) and look for a number from the previous service provider. Usually this situation does not last long.
  4. Landline numbers are not portable between operators; this service is only available for mobile phones.
  5. Since two companies are involved in the transition process - a new one and an old one, for example MTS, sometimes the procedure is delayed. In such, it must be said, infrequent cases, Tele2 sends a service message and makes every effort to ensure that the process is completed as soon as possible and does not cause unnecessary inconvenience to the new user.
  6. Sometimes the new SIM card is not visible for some time; to fix this problem, just restart the phone. You should know that number transfer can only be carried out by the registered owner of the SIM card.
