How to properly catch trout on a platform in the fall. What to catch trout on (on Platniki). Choosing the right bait for trout

Trout fishing on paid platforms is becoming more and more popular every year. Many ponds appear that are stocked with this predator, and accordingly this trend in fishing becomes more widespread. This beautiful and graceful fish is hunted both in open water and from ice.

The methods used for trout fishing in paid reservoirs are as varied as the range of baits. These fish can be lured by artificial spoons, wobblers or flies. It readily bites on natural baits and baits.

Fishing for trout on paid platforms has its advantages:

  • No need to travel far to wild trout streams and rivers. The predator can be caught in any region.
  • Comfort and convenience. You can go to paid reservoirs with your family. Usually there are cozy gazebos and houses, a guarded parking lot, and you can cook the fish you catch.
  • The perimeter of the ponds is equipped with convenient walkways, there is no garbage, and abundant coastal vegetation has been removed.
  • Trout fishing on paid platforms is available all year round.
  • Depending on the body of water, caught fish can be released or picked up for a reasonable fee.
  • Trout in paid ponds often readily bite on the bait offered, are not shy and are less likely to show apathy.

For residents of many regions, traveling to wild trout reservoirs turns out to be expensive. But catching cultivated fish is accessible and allows you to immerse yourself entirely in this exciting area of fishing.

How to catch

Most paid reservoirs have relatively uniform fishing conditions. Their relief is smooth, without sharp jumps in depth or anomalous areas. Aquatic vegetation is moderate. The bottom is clean, there may be single snags, stones and other obstacles.

Finding trout in these conditions is not always easy. If the food supply is good, which is not surprising for private ponds, then the fish moves little around the water area, and you still need to try to find it. In some cases, the predator is active, with little food available, so fishing in such reservoirs is a little easier.

The best time for trout fishing is autumn, spring and winter; at the end of spring and summer in warm water the trout bite subsides and resumes in the fall as the water cools

In general, you need to look for trout on paid sites in the following places:

  • local pits and grooves;
  • near protrusions and tubercles on the bottom;
  • near a flooded clearing, if any;
  • near snags, stones and other shelters;
  • in the coastal zone near overhanging branches.

Sometimes trout approach the bridge, where they also find shelter. Knowing this, the angler must be quiet, because it may turn out that the fish will be caught right under his feet.

The best ways to fish on paid ponds are:

  • spinning;
  • feeder;
  • float rod.

Fly fishing on paid sites is rarely practiced. This trend is practiced by experienced advanced trout fishermen, so it is not as widespread as other simpler fishing methods.

Spinning

This is an active moving method of fishing. For beginners, it is advisable to start fishing with spinners and small wobblers, which have their own game and work on a uniform retrieve.

Over time, it's worth trying microoscillators. These lures are truly considered the best for trout. To fish with them, you need to have some experience, which will allow you to quickly select the optimal models and their wiring.

Gear for paid trout fishing is not much different from fishing in wild waters:

  • The rod is ultra-light with a test weight of up to 7 grams, its length is up to 2.10–2.40 meters, the action is medium-fast or fast.
  • The reel is light to match the fishing rod. It should lay thin lines well and be light in weight.
  • The fishing lines are thin, both braids and monofilaments are allowed.
  • If a leash is used, it is only made of fluorocarbon, which is practically invisible to the fish in the water.

You can catch trout on a platform with a spinning rod until the freeze-up. They start fishing as soon as the ice melts and continue until the water warms up.

Float rod

Mostly beginners catch trout using the “float” on paid ponds. This is the simplest gear that is easy to master, and it does not require skills or years of fishing experience. Less often caught this way are professionals who are purposefully involved in this area.

It is believed that in the summer this method offers the greatest chance of catching trout. During this period, trout approach the coastal zone and are located in the upper layers of water. This explains the effectiveness of this gear in the warm season. The best time for fishing is early morning and evening.

The float rod allows you to use the lightest equipment that will not scare away the trout. Usually this is not so important for paid ponds, since the fish are not shy and their stock is constantly replenished with fresh individuals. But on some reservoirs, due to high pressure, you have to switch to thin lines and floats with a low carrying capacity.

Feeder

Fishing for trout with a feeder is practiced on paid reservoirs throughout the open water season. This method does not always outperform others, but it is very effective and easy to learn. The best catches with bottom gear happen in cold water, when the fish stays near the bottom.

When fishing with a feeder, a variety of baits are used. The best of them is trout paste. In addition, often used:

  • shrimp;
  • earthworm or dungworm;
  • bloodworm;
  • mealworm;
  • canned corn and peas;
  • dough.

Bait is not necessary when fishing for trout in many reservoirs, although if prepared correctly it will increase your catches.

In winter time

Trout fishing in winter on paid reservoirs is rapidly gaining popularity. During this period, fishermen practice the following directions:

  • balancers;
  • vertical spoons;
  • large jig;
  • girders and supplies.

Each direction has its adherents. Fishing with artificial bait is more dynamic, but it is difficult for beginners to immediately master all the intricacies of playing with a spoon or balancer. Fishing with a rod is easier, but it is a static activity. If the bite is bad, then sitting motionless on the ice is boring.

On paid reservoirs it differs significantly from summer. The behavior of the fish changes quite noticeably. And the colder the water becomes, the more different the behavior of the autumn “iris” is from how it behaves in spring and summer. If in September the fish are located in the upper layers of the water, then by November, as the temperature drops, the fish move closer to the bottom. Starting from the second half of October, less and less often we see the somersaults that trout make when jumping out of the water. From the second half of autumn, trout practically stop feeding on insects flying over the water and switch to underwater food.

I will now tell you about one of the fishing trips that took place in mid-November.

Morning at the trout pond.

I start fishing, as always, by fishing the middle layers of the reservoir. For this purpose I use small wobblers that play in the area of half a meter deep. Perhaps my main earner is Rigge 35. The wobbler has been one of the leaders in coaxing trout for many years. Moreover, this applies to fishing not only in the fall, but at any time of the year. And the most remarkable thing is that the “ridge” is effective both in fishing on “platnaya” and in fishing in the wild.

Trout love the Rigge 35.

For a long time now, the Rigge 35 has been serving as a scout for me. The catchability of this wobbler is clearly above average, so I even changed the hooks on it - I removed the front one and put a single hook without a barb at the back. It is in this form that the “ridge” has brought me fish in recent years, and that is why it flies into the water first. Several wires follow at the pace of an easy twitch. Silence. I decide to provoke the fish by moving the wobbler with sharp and frequent jerks, using the so-called aggressive one (by the way, it works great for perches). And here the trout could not stand it; literally on the third retrieve the “ridge” was severely attacked. After a brief standoff, the first trout was brought ashore. The single hook did its job perfectly, holding the fish securely, despite all the somersaults it threw while fishing. The next half hour brought two more bites, but it was not possible to take the fish. I tried several similar models, but no one was interested in them. It became clear that trout could not be caught in the coastal zone. There are no more bites, which means something needs to be done. I decide to try to fish the distant zone where the wobbler did not reach. For long-distance casting, my treasured boxes always contain several wobblers that can tempt trout over long distances.

Raphael with another victim.

And it is precisely for such cases that the “Ridzhik’s” brother, Raphael, is ideally suited. It is slightly larger and heavier than the 35. And most importantly, the “Rafael” does not have a blade. All taken together allows you to fish the farthest zones of the reservoir. On “pay zones” this is of no small importance, since the pressure from anglers is quite noticeable, which often forces the fish to stay away from the shore. To reach the “distant” fish, I keep Jackson Trout Tune HW, Smith D-Contact, Ima Sukari in my box; DUO Ryuki 45S and Raphael. The last one flies into the water. Since the model is sinking, I let it sink a little, after which I begin wiring in the light twitching style. The result was not long in coming, and soon a trout appeared for the photo shoot. The next half hour showed that there were more fish in the distant cordon than near the shore. But over time, the bites became less and less frequent.

Around ten o'clock in the morning the sun came out. If even without it the trout did not react very willingly to wobblers, now it has completely abandoned the “Japanese” ones. It's time for rubber. I decide to try a light jig. A twister one and a half inches long, equipped with a two-gram

Trout on a twister? No problem!

It is no coincidence that the color of the bait was chosen in bright tones: it is one of the most prey. By the way, I can say that I didn’t really believe in the pink-red color of baits before. I had several PINK-colored wobblers, but I was unable to catch them on our main predators (pike, pike-perch, perch). And about five years ago I took the risk of offering trout artificial worms of a pinkish color - bubblegum. Then I realized that PINK colored lures can tempt fish. And how could you not believe it when my package of Trout Worm from Berkley sold out within three hours. That fishing trip showed me all the attractiveness of pink-red shades. Since then, I always have silicone baits of similar colors with me.

So, abandoned, I make a classic. I didn’t have to wait long, and soon the first “iris” was pulled ashore, deciding to try the twister for a taste. Over the next two hours, the fish responded to the offered twister, but the bites were very careful. The trout mostly grabbed the twister by the very tip of its tail, so there were a lot of idle bites. And as midday approached, the bite stopped altogether.

We need to change tactics. It’s worth trying to seduce the trout with some exotic, novelty, and offer the fish something that it has never seen before. This is one of the rules of trout fishing - change the type of bait to the opposite one to the one you just fished with. And a tube flies into the water - a bait that is very rarely used by our spinning anglers.

Tube is an unusual bait for trout.

The next couple of hours passed in a sluggish atmosphere. The trout were not very willing to accept my proposals, although I was sure that the local fish rarely see the tubes. From 12.00 to 14.00 I pulled out only two “irines”. There were bites, but they were so gentle that it was impossible to hook the fish. This behavior of the trout was not unexpected, since many years of fishing practice on “platnaya” clearly shows that in the middle of the day, regardless of the time of year, the trout goes into “hibernation” and shows the most minimal activity. But I know one way to change the situation.

In order for fishing to be as successful as possible, you must also carefully prepare for it. The owner of fishing rods should study the baits that the fish bite on, the habitat of the miner and use the appropriate equipment. In this regard, when going after a predator, you need to figure out what to use to catch rainbow trout. It is also important to understand that this type of vertebrate does not like unnecessary movements and fuss. The process should take place calmly and without sudden actions. The secret to catching large specimens is the first and unexpected cast.

Necessary gear for trout fishing

Tackle for trout fishing is selected depending on the chosen fishing method, namely: using a spinning rod or fly fishing method, donkey or float rod.

Spinning is considered the most popular and effective method of fishing; moreover, it is considered intensive because it requires constant movement and activity.

Depending on the chosen fishing method, trout fishing gear is selected

The success of fishing depends on correctly selected equipment, which must be constructed from the following elements:

  • rod – this element should be selected based on fishing conditions. You need to focus on the condition of the reservoir, the amount of vegetation and the fishing method. For example, fishing on a boat involves using a short rod, from a clean shore - about three meters, etc.;
  • spinning test - trout has a unique mouth structure that does not allow the use of large baits. The maximum weight of the bait should be 7 g. Based on this, the spinning test can be in the range from 0 to 7 g. Test rods are ultralight. It is recommended to give preference to rigid structures, they will allow you to control the wiring. The success of fishing depends on the sensitivity and quality of this element;
  • fishing line - it is recommended to use monofilament material, the diameter of which will not exceed 0.18 mm. The fishing line should easily transmit a bite, and also be reliable, durable and have an inconspicuous color;
  • reel – this element is selected based on the structure of the fishing rod. In any case, the reel must be rigid, reliable and have a high-quality friction. You can speed up the fishing process using a design that has a large gear ratio.

Using the fly fishing method requires the presence of a 1.7-3 m rod, class 3-7 fly fishing tackle and a special fly fishing cord. The latter is matched to the class of the main element. If it is difficult to choose, a store consultant will help you decide on the necessary products. An important design element is the leash. The length of the element must be correctly selected depending on the length of the fishing rod.

It is impossible to answer unequivocally what is the best way to catch trout? This is a controversial issue and the choice depends on the preferences of the fisherman. Some exclude other fishing options other than the spinning method. Others, on the contrary, have become accustomed to the use of fly fishing. In any case, it is recommended to try two methods and choose yours. After this, the fisherman will immediately understand which fishing rod to catch trout with.

What is the best way to catch trout cannot be answered unequivocally

Selection of baits and baits for trout fishing

Trout is one of the most attractive and delicious types of fish. To catch the beauty, fishermen come up with a variety of ways and use many techniques. Let's figure out what bait to catch trout with?

Among the options for catching a predator are the following:

  • spinners for trout - the most effective are those with the third number, which have a fast game and a golden, silver color. Baits can be used in different bodies of water with different depths, they are suitable for repeated use and are considered the most productive;
    • – the best option would be a bait that has a length of 4-10 cm and is of the oscillating type. Floating wobblers are able to imitate real bait, which attracts trout, and are suitable for fishing at different depths. They can be used for different types of fishing and have a unique game;
  • silicone baits for trout - this type of product is used with small-sized specimens. They are convenient to use, but are not used in all areas, taking into account the presence of certain conditions;
  • trout fishing with paste is one of the accessible and cheaper gears. Can be used on fishing rods and bottom structures. The bait will be effective at the right time of year.

Not everyone knows what to use to catch river trout? In addition to high-quality artificial baits, fisherman can use bait of animal origin. They also work under certain conditions. Knowing the habitat of the prey and other features, fishing will definitely yield results.

Trout spinners are considered the most effective

It is considered productive to catch trout using shrimp. The small baitfish emits a stunning aroma and has a favorable color. Fish is in love with crustaceans and will definitely appreciate the efforts of the fisherman. In addition, you can catch trout using bloodworms, maggots, bees, caterpillars, crab meat, squid, worms and pieces of fresh fish.

Of all the above methods, fishing for trout with a spoon is considered the most universal and effective. With basic skills, a fisherman will definitely catch a large number of fish.

Place and time for trout fishing

The right question is, where can I fish for trout? A positive fishing result depends on the choice of habitat for a predator. You can explore fishing spots on your own or get invaluable information from experienced fishermen, friends and acquaintances.

After familiarizing himself with the area, the fisherman moves to a new level and in subsequent times will be able to boast of a large catch. It is equally important to know when you can fish for trout, because the choice of season affects the behavior of the fish. In addition, at certain times of the year it is prohibited to fish for this type of predator.

To understand where to catch wild trout, you need to have information about the habitat of the fish. So, the season can start as early as March. In non-freezing reservoirs you can catch a predator even in winter. But the latter option is passive and is not so interesting to fishing rod owners.

You can find out where to catch trout on the river in spring using simple information. It is believed that where the predator spent the winter, that is where it should be looked for during the warming period. Holes, riffles, and places with a slight current may be suitable habitats.

A positive fishing result depends on the choice of habitat for the predator

Trout spawning begins in the fall. During this period you should not hunt fish. Moreover, there are serious penalties for committing this type of atrocity. The ban on trout fishing during the spawning period is confirmed by the legislation of the country.

Choosing the right bait for trout

Everyone knows that the prey needs to be lured and the process done efficiently. For this purpose, fishermen prepare or purchase special food for trout. This manipulation is especially effective when fishing with a feeder, float rod and from ice.

Store-bought bait costs a lot of money, but it produces results. There is a special mixture on sale called “pellets” that can be used for different types of vertebrates.

The most attractive scents are:

  • caviar;
  • garlic;
  • fresh fish;
  • shrimp.

Many people consider homemade bait to be the most effective. If the fisherman is not stingy, then the food can cost much more than purchased food. The main ingredients are eggs, squid, shrimp, milk, salted herring and canned corn. The cooking technology is quite simple, which will allow any novice fisherman to cope with it.

Self-prepared bait is considered the most effective.

Features of trout fishing

Having studied the features of the bait and other details, you should familiarize yourself with the question of how to catch trout correctly? It is believed that with the onset of spring, the fish are still shy and are just emerging from their measured, calm state. Therefore, catching prey should be carried out without bait, in quiet places.

The best attachment would be a streamer. They can be purchased from wool or bird feathers. At the moment of casting the bait and moving it along an arc, you should play with it and raise/lower it several times. This way, the bait will be able to get where you can’t throw it with a direct throw. This is an ideal way to catch a large predator.

To figure out how to catch trout in a mountain river, you need to carefully study the area. The advantage is the ability to hunt for prey at any time of the year (except for the spawning period). It is recommended to cast upstream. The point is that the bait moves towards the owner of the fishing rod at the speed of the water. Having managed to achieve this goal, the fisherman will master the skill of how to catch trout on a river with a current.

How to catch trout on a donk? Experienced fishermen claim that this method is effective and affordable. Donkey fishing allows you to catch trout floating and at depth. The most favorable period is considered to be the end of autumn-winter. You should go hunting at dawn and dusk. It is important to choose the right equipment. When wondering what to use to catch trout on the fishing grounds, fishermen definitely recommend a feeder (bottom tackle).

To determine at what depth it is better to catch trout, you need to start from the time of year. In a certain season, fish prefer different depths (this depends on the water temperature). But be that as it may, the predator prefers a location at the very bottom. In good weather, trout can swim to the surface and collect insects.

Let's figure out how to catch trout using a spinning rod? To achieve success, it is recommended to acquire a high-quality wobbler or spinner. Preference should be given to baits that have a golden and silver tint. If the water is clean and clear, then the bait can be bright and colorful. Large specimens are most likely to be caught in the spring. Fishing can be done from the shore or boat.

Many people don’t know how to catch trout at night. Not surprising, since this procedure is ineffective. It is recommended to go fishing at dawn. The fish reacts to a shiny and noticeable bait, but in the dark the prey will not be able to see anything.

Trout fishing is a tradition for many fishermen. Moreover, this activity is a priority even for experienced fishermen. Trout is a fish with character; catching it requires a special approach. And fishing itself is an energetic and entertaining process.

In order to get a great catch, you must know what time and how to catch trout. This fish is best caught in the warm season - spring and summer. During this period, the predator quickly hunts insects located near the reservoir. The trout bite begins in mid-spring and continues until autumn. In September, salmon, which include trout, begin spawning.

When to catch trout

The season for trout fishing depends on the spawning time of the fish. In the 3rd year of life, trout are already ready to spawn. This period begins in early autumn. Spawning usually lasts no longer than a month. As usual, a week after spawning the intensity of the bite increases. In winter, the fish is in a semi-passive state: it feeds rarely and is inactive. With each new trip for trout, you should drill new holes, because the trout have already noticed the old ones. In winter, fish are caught well with bloodworms, maggots and live bait.

Fishing for trout in winter on paid platforms is becoming more and more popular every year

With the coming of spring the predator rarely leaves wintering potholes. Found on riffles. In places with moderate currents, trout actively hunt. Food includes young fish, frogs, and caddis flies. In summer, trout rarely appear near the shore during the daytime, because they stay in colder places. It goes hunting at night - the peak of fish activity. To catch trout in the summer, use plug rods. Cast over long distances.

Where do trout live?

Brook trout is found both in the sea and in fresh water bodies. This type of fish rarely migrates long distances. Brook trout overwinter in spring sources. Leaves wintering areas during floods, lives near waterfalls in summer. Brown trout swim in schools; they stay close to boulders, hiding from the sun's rays.

In our country, this species is bred on private fish farms. This species prefers fresh waters, the temperature of which does not exceed 15 ºС. The fish is passive during the daytime; during the day it hides in snags and the shadows of underwater rocks.

Trout fishing on paid reservoirs

Not everyone has time for a long trip to a fishing spot. Nowadays, there are many places where you can spend time with pleasure. Fishing with a spinning rod is an entertaining activity in its own way that brings joy to everyone. Feeling active resistance from a lively trout, while demonstrating all your skill and dexterity, is a great pleasure. However, the disadvantage of this fishing is that you have to pay for the pleasure of fishing.

The plus is guaranteed catch and no need to travel many miles. Recently, bathhouses have been built on “pay zones”, which are usually located along the shore. In general, the banks are equipped in the best possible way: at the fishing site there is a low bridge on which you can sit. Due to the fact that paid places are visited by a large flow of people, the fish does not change its position, the trout skillfully moves away from the hook. Therefore, having found the right approach, every fisherman can be proud of himself.

To "paysites" It is best to come in autumn and winter. At this time, trout are most active and move throughout the entire reservoir rather than resting in the depths. Trout often lurks in underwater holes; if you find the right place next to one, a double catch is guaranteed.

What to catch trout with

The best natural baits are: maggot, caddis larva, firefly, midge, baitfish.
Live bait can be a small fish with an elongated body. Commonly used fish species: minnow, trout, gudgeon.

The most effective plant baits: pearl barley, bread, corn.

Artificial baits. The following are used as bait:

  1. Spoons. Use number three spinners with a fast needle. Priority is given to spinners with a golden hue. This bait has the following advantages: applicable at great depths; are reusable; used in different fishing conditions.
  2. Wobblers. Buy oscillating wobblers from four to ten centimeters long. Advantages: imitate a live fish, attracting the attention of a predator; used at different depths; have a game that copies the movements of living fish.
  3. Twisters. Use bait no longer than 5 cm. It will be better when the “rubber” is “edible”, because fish often bite the bait, so the “edibility” of the bait plays a big role.
  4. Artificial worms. It is this bait that is most often used by fishermen on paid sites. The worm needs to be equipped with a jig head. The placement of the bait does not play a special role. Both classic and “weki” are used, when the silicone bait is pierced exactly in the middle. “Wacky” is used when fishing at shallow depths; at greater depths, use the classic one.
  5. Crustaceans and nymphs. Since this bait sinks slowly, it is used only in the upper layers of water. The wiring should be selected by testing, as well as the color of the bait. Use different weights of sinker heads. Mostly they go 0.8-0.10g when fishing in the middle layers of water.
  6. Balance. Using a balancer is a sure way to increase the bite frequency. Excellent for winter trout fishing. The size of the bait is 5 cm. There is no universal color, so you will have to experiment. Experienced fishermen advise attaching a shiny bead to the balancer. So, the fish will be more willing to take the bait. Using a balancer is not so easy, and the fishing result will depend on your special approach.
  7. , they are boilies. These are spherical baits that attract fish with their smell. Boilies can be dusty, which means that they are sprayed into the water, spreading taste throughout the pond. The fish reacts instantly.

To give the “game” a special flavor, use a rod and a nod. The nod should be long, but not harsh. This is necessary so that the movements are not sudden. Throw the balancer 25-30 cm, then lower your hands to the starting position. At this time, the balancer reaches to the bottom, rotating in the form of a figure eight. After the bait is in its original position, pause briefly for a few seconds. The peculiarity of fishing in winter lies in the low dynamics of movements. Frequent movements can leave you without a catch.

Gear selection

When fishing for trout, spinning is most often used. Spinning fishing is not only interesting, but also very effective.

  • Spinning. When choosing a fishing rod, you should take into account the fishing conditions. A long rod will allow you to cast light baits over a long distance; short rods, in turn, will help you avoid awkward casting from under a tree or bush. If you still haven’t found your fishing spot, and don’t know what to expect from the chosen area - thickets or free space, then the best option is a spinning rod that does not exceed 2.5 meters in length.
  • fishing line. The choice of fishing line directly affects the sensitivity of the entire tackle. The least stretch of the fishing line allows you to more clearly feel the frequency of vibration of the bait. With a well-chosen fishing line, you can even feel the movements of the petal of a rotating spoon. The diameter of the fishing line should be selected in the range 0.16-0.18 mm. When using braided fishing line, the diameter can be chosen smaller, because the braided line has great strength.
  • Coil. Only one thing is required from the reel: it must work out the movements of the fish instead of the rod. The reel must be equipped with a reliable clutch. Before you start fishing, adjust the drag so that when the fish jerks, the line comes off the reel freely, at the same time making it easier for the trout to get closer and closer. It is optimal to choose a coil with gear ratio approximately 5:1
  • Bombard. If it is not possible to cast over a long distance with a spinning rod, then trout fishing is carried out using a bombard. This tackle is distinguished by the presence of a special float. The purpose of the float is to make the rig heavy. This allows you to cast even the lightest baits over long distances. For clear water, plastic models are used. In addition to artificial baits, bombarda can also be fished with natural baits.
  • Donka. If for some reason you do not use a spinning rod, a decent tackle is a donka. A traditional fishing rod allows casting edible baits over long distances. To prevent the equipment from being carried away by the current, equip the fishing rod with a heavy sinker.
  • Fishing with wiring. The fish responds with lightning speed to food passing by. This feature is used by fans of float fishing with wiring. The most suitable places for this type of fishing are all kinds of pools and riffles. The main bait for this kind of fishing is a worm.

Bait recipe

Many fishermen prepare their own baits because they do not trust the composition of “store-bought” ones. In the past, avid fishermen loved salmon caviar as bait for trout, but since this product is very expensive, chicken eggs, rich in protein, have come to replace it.

Preparing pellets is not difficult. This complementary food may be more expensive than purchased food, but it is often much more useful. Trout bait contains the following components:

  • Eggs;
  • Milk;
  • Compound feed;
  • Squid;
  • Salted herring;
  • canned corn.

Cooking method: First, an egg omelet is made, then trout feed should be mixed with the omelet. Cleaned seafood is crushed and added to the mixture with the omelette, the corn is passed through a meat grinder, the juice from the jar is poured into the future bait. Everything should be thoroughly mixed and refrigerated.

This mixture is stored for one night, after which it is used.

A large number of anglers, who have a lot of experience and secrets in fishing, are switching from traditional fish to more resourceful fish. Therefore, trout is the object of greatest attention among professionals. Trout fishing is a labor-intensive process that is accompanied by high mobility of the fisherman. This happens because trout is a very active fish throughout the year. Trout fish are delicate and demanding. Does not live in waters exceeding 20 degrees.

The fish are concentrated in springs and lakes, where the water is crystal clear. As stated earlier, trout fishing occurs in early spring, immediately after the ice has melted. You can fish using a classic float rod, fly fishing and spinning.

If fishing is done using a float rod, it is necessary to use a powerful rod of as long a length as possible. With such a rod, you have the opportunity to make a long cast and get to the “spot” where the trout likes to be.

In addition to the fact that the rod should be strong and long, it should be light in weight with a fairly rigid tip. In this case, you will be able to cast the bait a sufficient distance. Of all the abundance of trout species, river trout is the most common in our country. The most effective bait for it is a red dung worm, or a caddis larva.

The worm should be put in half on the hook, as small trout will not covet too large a bait. Fishing for trout requires the fisherman to have the necessary patience and extreme accuracy: you need to approach the place where the fish are baited without making too much noise, so as not to scare away the wary fish. Making frequent casts is categorically not recommended, because the trout may simply get scared and move to another place.

Fishing for trout in the spring with a retractable leash with rubber:

What you should pay attention to

Sweeping. There is no need to hook the fish with too much force. The force and sharpness of the hook will not give you any advantages. Trout hit the bait hard, so a sharp hook is simply not required. It is used only if you need to tighten the line before fishing. Instead of providing strong tension, hooking will only create slack.

Equipment. The equipment of an angler who wants to try his luck in trout fishing should include:

Sunglasses. They not only reduce the impact of sunlight on the eyes, but also eliminate glare. This will help you see trout in shallow water. These glasses will help the fisherman out during summer and spring fishing.

Landing net. Without it, it is difficult to get even a small trout. A short racket landing net is very inconvenient when fishing on a river, because it is quite difficult to get caught fish into it. If the fishing takes place on “platforms”, then it will do its job perfectly. For fishing in natural bodies of water, use a landing net with a retractable handle; the diameter of the hoop should be at least 50 cm. With this landing net it is not difficult to catch medium-sized trout. No tail, no scales!

and spinning is gaining more and more popularity among our spinners. The development of paid fishing contributed to the popularization of this predator. In many such reservoirs, not only carp are now bred, as was the case five years ago, but also this noble representative of salmon.

Trout is a beautiful, smart, strong and cunning fish. Catching it for the fisherman means confirmation of his skill and ability to use spinning tackle. Selecting a suitable bait, its placement and then successfully bringing a predator into a landing net is not easy and requires a lot of experience and skills from the fisherman, so it is difficult for beginners to immediately master this area of fishing.

You can hunt for trout in two types of reservoirs. First- these are wild rivers and streams, which, unfortunately, are not accessible to all fishermen in our country; in many regions this predator is simply not found. Second option– paid ponds and fish farms. There are more and more of them, and this type of fishing is gradually gaining popularity.

In this material, we will focus specifically on fishing for trout using a spinning rod on paid fishing rods, since such fishing is available to a larger number of spinning anglers. However, you should not go to other regions in search of wild rivers where this fish lives.

This predator loves clean and cool water, so it is advisable to go to a paid pond with a spinning rod when the air temperature is low. Naturally, the best seasons for hunting trout with artificial baits are spring and autumn. At this time, the fish are most active, move around the water area and favorably respond to the offered spoons and wobblers.

In summer, trout can also be caught, but it is much more difficult. The fish behaves passively and ignores many baits. During the hot season, it is better to go to deep and large plateaus, since the water here warms up more slowly and there is more oxygen in it.

In small and shallow ponds, the water quickly warms up, there is little oxygen here, and the pond begins to “bloom.” You can’t count on catching trout in such conditions. The predator completely refuses to take spinning baits, no matter how skillful and skilled the fisherman is.

During the day in spring and autumn, trout bite regularly. Its peak activity occurs in the early morning. Then, by lunchtime, the number of bait attacks decreases, but by evening the fish’s mobility and appetite resumes. On some paid ponds, a predator can start taking even before sunrise. If the fisherman knows this fact and the rules of the reservoir allow fishing at such an early hour, then it’s worth trying to fish. Often the largest specimens are caught in the dark, which usually ignore the spinners during the day.

Where to fish for trout?

The places where trout are concentrated strongly depend on the bottom topography of a particular paid reservoir. In ponds with a uniform, calm profile, it is more difficult to detect fish, since they can stand anywhere. The predator often moves, changes location, and occupies different horizons. Therefore, you will have to look for it here.

Advice! On many paid reservoirs, trout are not shy and do not behave as carefully as on wild rivers. Therefore, such strict requirements are imposed on camouflage.

It is much easier to search for trout on the platform areas with drops, bumps, local depressions and flooded snags. The fisherman should carefully fish promising points, select the best bait and correctly present it to the predator.

In general, trout do not like to stand outside cover. The most typical areas where fish are most likely to be found are:

  • a pronounced abnormal area at the bottom, be it a pit or a tubercle;
  • single flooded small snags or tree branches;
  • coastal areas in the area of edges and slopes in depth;
  • in the center of the reservoir in the deepest area, on dumps into a hole.

Trout can often change the horizon of the parking lot. This is influenced by weather factors and the food supply. In summer, it can be observed near the surface, especially in the evening hours. In spring and autumn, fish spend more time in the bottom layers, less often in the water column.

Gear selection

The result of trout fishing depends on the proper selection of gear. There are many specialized rods, thin lines and matching reels on the market today, so there is plenty to choose from. Moreover, quite budget products have already appeared that are accessible to most fishermen.

Spinning rod for trout

A spinning rod for trout hunting on platoons belongs to the ultralight class. It should allow you to throw and carry weightless small baits and at the same time confidently catch strong and sharp fish. The casting performance of a fishing rod is also important, since it is often necessary to send the spoon to the middle of the pond in order to reach an active predator.

A universal spinning rod for trout fishing has the following characteristics:

  • length 1.80–2.40 meters;
  • test from 0 to 5–8 grams;
  • build fast (fast) or medium-fast (moderate fast).

Advice! When trout are feeding near the bottom, you need to use sinking crankbaits.

The top best models of wobblers for trout fishing are as follows:

  • "Smith Camion";
  • "Zipbaits Rigge 35F";
  • "Zipbaits Hickory";
  • "Megabass Baby Griffon";
  • Smith Jade MD;
  • "Lucky Craft Cra-Pea";
  • "Ima Imatetra."

In general, there are a lot of catchy models of trout wobblers and every angler has his own favorites.

Spinners

Pinwheels are the most versatile trout lures. They can catch a predator in any body of water at any time of the year. Mastering trout fishing with these lures is the easiest.

The size of trout spinners should be small. Increased demands are placed on the quality of their execution. A good spinner works without failure at any fishing speed and does not scare away the fish.

Microoscillators

This type of bait is increasingly gaining popularity and is gradually pushing aside both wobblers and spinners. Micro-oscillators are perhaps the best for trout fishing on paid reservoirs. They realistically imitate small fish, so the predator cannot resist and will certainly make a grab.

Micro-oscillators are effective at any time of the year. It produces its best catches in spring and autumn, although in summer trout do not hesitate to take these baits. With their help, an angler can fish any horizon, plunging the spoon both to the bottom and holding it near the surface.

  • "Daiwa COHO";
  • "Forest Marvel";
  • "Smith Heaven"

Silicone baits

Small twisters and vibrotails are used for trout fishing less often than the baits described above. Nevertheless, they regularly seduce a predator, especially one standing in the lower layers of water. This fish loves to attack bright silicones. The most successful colors are red, light green and yellow.
