Airport, lounge and boarding

At JFK, Turkish Airlines departs from Terminal 1. I quickly checked in as one of the first, since I was at the airport very early, and proceeded to the fast track. Unfortunately, then all the queues merge together; anyway, at that time of day there weren’t very many passengers, and after about 15 minutes I was at the airport, from where I could watch flight TK11 taxi to the gate.

Boarding was announced around 11:10 pm and I headed to the gate.

Cabin and seat

I've written extensively about the Boeing 777-300ER cockpit many times, and you'll find plenty of photos and detailed information in my previous reports.

Initially, an A330 was announced for the flight, but Turkish Airlines has a routine replacement of the sides.

I had a couple of unpleasant moments when, during online check-in, I discovered that the seat I had chosen a few weeks ago had automatically changed to a central seat in the middle block. You can’t imagine a worse option... the center seat in business class... Brrr.

According to the seat map, there was only one free aisle seat left, on the 5th row, which I chose. The reception confirmed to me that all other places were taken.

Row 5 is the first row of the second business class mini cabin. During the flight, this part of the cabin seemed to me much calmer than the front one, but during landing you feel quite awkward :) The fact is that economy class passengers pass through the second half of the business cabin when boarding, and - believe me - the looks and The comments are not always pleasant... (If you like, check out the study on the anger of passengers forced to pass through a premium cabin.)

One Russian-speaking family kept repeating phrases like “this is the way to fly,” “some people fly,” etc. At such moments (besides looking down), you want to firstly give your business card, and secondly explain that from the point of view of hard product, Turkish Airlines is one of the most unimpressive ways to fly :)

Boarding was coming to an end, and more than half of the seats in the second mini-cabin remained free. At one point, another Turk with a badge, apparently an official representative of the airline, approached the four Turks, and everyone began hugging and kissing. A few minutes later he took them to the first cabin, and only 3 people remained in the second.

This is what I don't like about Turkish Airlines at all. Some flights turn into some kind of get-together between Turkish businessmen, airline representatives and flight attendants. The same thing happened on my last year’s flight from New York to Istanbul, and in general, over the years of flying with Turkish, I’ve seen enough of this.

But if I have complaints about this rather from an aesthetic point of view (even if I am aware of cultural peculiarities), then I do not accept blocking a huge number of places “in reserve”. Why can’t I choose the seat I want when there are more than a dozen empty seats?! Unless, of course, you take into account the unlikely theory that a bunch of passengers canceled the flight at the last moment...

Anyway, I moved to seat 5A.

As for the bed, I had a great night's sleep as usual.

Accessories

The travel kit this time was a small Cerruti handbag. Even if I'm impressed by the brand (though I'm not really impressed), I still prefer the much more practical Jaguar kit.

But the headphones received an unexpected upgrade. This time they were excellent quality “noise-cancelling” headphones in a stylish case.

Catering

The menu was distributed to passengers before takeoff, which is quite justified, given the late departure time. A separate menu was dedicated to breakfast - passengers were asked to make a choice in advance. I asked when breakfast would be served and mentioned that on the flight to America the second service started 3 hours before boarding! I was assured that on flights to the USA this is done solely because of the requirements of American customs and the Turkish flight attendants themselves are not at all happy about this. On today's flight, breakfast will be served as late as possible, an hour before boarding.

And the main dinner menu looked like this:

It’s surprising that the DO&CO menu has more dessert options than main courses :) This is already a good enough reason to fly Turkish from time to time!

The wine list looked exactly the same as on the flight from Istanbul to Miami.

The passengers' dinner orders were taken while the plane was taxiing, and this attempt to speed up the process seemed quite reasonable to me. In fact, the service began only an hour after takeoff! It is quite possible that it started earlier in the first cabin, and just reached me so late :)

As an aperitif, I asked for champagne, which was served with nuts.

The first course and soup were served on a single tray. And of course, as without the famous candle :)

DO&CO soups are always full of flavor!

For the main course, given the late hour, I decided to take salmon. It was beautifully prepared and I also want to highlight the phenomenal presentation! Typically, food on airplanes is viewed by its own, much lower standards; but I would be more than pleased if such a dish was served to me in any restaurant!

I accompanied my dinner with French red wine, which was poured in very generous portions.

To finish, I chose the profiteroles, which were out of this world, and the fruit.

Dinner ended with tea, to which I also asked for cheesecake. Unfortunately, I can no longer afford to eat as many desserts as before, and at this stage in my life I believe that it makes sense to “sin” solely for the sake of phenomenal, unearthly sweets. So a few desserts on board TK at once, and then a couple of weeks - life without sweets. Although this is of course a lie.

After dinner, passengers were again offered a hot towel.

Well, this dinner was supposed to be shortened, but the whole process took more than 3 hours from the moment of departure and ended with sunrise :)

Such a leisurely service doesn't help maximize your sleep time... but falling asleep with the sunrise over the Atlantic has something to do with it.

I was woken up for breakfast 55 minutes before landing. Once again, the presentation could not be more attractive even in the most sophisticated restaurant.

I also asked for a fruit smoothie which turned out to be sumptuous.

Gastronomy on Turkish flights is always at the highest level, but perhaps this time I especially enjoyed both dinner and breakfast.

Service

The service was the most pleasant surprise on this flight. Usually all I can ask for from Turkish flight attendants is that they are not aggressive and that my requests and orders are not forgotten. This time, the flight attendant serving my cabin was surprisingly gallant, professional and friendly, and also - which is rare - spoke wonderful English.

Summary

It was another wonderful flight with Turkish Airlines. Despite the fact that at first it seemed that business class would be jam-packed (and the experience of flying with this configuration directly depends on whether there is a free seat next to it), in the end the second mini-cabin turned out to be almost empty. Probably not least of all, and that’s why the service this time was so personalized and friendly.

The catering was amazing, and Turkish was finally able to offer good quality headphones (let's hope this isn't a one-time deal).

As a minor note, the 3+ hour dinner didn't allow me to get much sleep, but at least I'm glad that breakfast was served just 55 minutes before landing.

I also cannot fail to mention the comfortable temperature in the cabin, which is a basic factor for me (and probably not only for me).

On this flight, as always, free WiFi was offered.

Ticket price and miles

I purchased this flight (JFK-IST-BUD) with miles. Miles&Smiles may be a controversial loyalty program, but award tickets on Turkish Airlines' own flights represent amazing, unrivaled value for money.

A flight between North America and Europe on TK metal costs just 45,000 miles. Unfortunately, Miles&Smiles charges hefty fees when purchasing award tickets, which in this case amounted to $209. Even so, it's a great use of miles!

As of 2018, Turkish Airlines has 310 aircraft of various models in its fleet. In the coming years, another 210 aircraft are expected to be delivered.

The company operates regular flights to Europe, Asia, America, the Middle and Far East on modern airliners. There are 17 A330-200 aircraft in operation, with a two-class cabin layout with 250 seats, and an A330-300, accommodating 289 passengers.

In the article we will talk about the features of the A330 aircraft of Turkish Airlines, consider the seat layout and determine the most comfortable ones for the flight.

Description and diagram of A330 Turkish Airlines

The large national airline Turkish Airlines operates long-haul wide-body Airbus 330-200 and A330-300, equipped with two turbofan engines.

The Airbus A330-200 cabin has a two-class layout. Rows 1 to 4 are a salon for passengers traveling at a business fare. The seats are installed in three rows in a 2x2 pattern. The total number of seats is 22.

From rows 5 to 35 – economy class, divided into two sectors. The first one occupies rows 5-21 and is located in the middle part of the aircraft, immediately behind business class. The second sector starts from row 22, the last row in the cabin is 35. The seats are arranged in a 2x4x2 pattern, with the exception of row 21 (4 seats in total) and rows 31-35 (2x3x2).

Between each sector of the cabin there are special partitions, behind which there are emergency hatches. Economy class passenger capacity is 228 people.

The plane has several toilet rooms, kitchens and utility rooms. There are passenger exits in the bow and tail of the aircraft.

Best seats on Turkish Airlines A330-200 and A330-300

The most comfortable business class cabin for flying on an Airbus A330. A cozy atmosphere has been created here, comfortable chairs with expanded legroom and a multifunctional backrest lowering mode have been installed. In addition, business class passengers have some privileges provided by the tariff plan.

The most comfortable and uncomfortable seats in the economy cabin in Airbus A330-200:

  1. Seats of increased comfort with increased legroom are located on the 5th and 22nd rows.
  2. Seats A, B, J, K on the 20th row are inconvenient for flying, since the backrest lowering mechanism in the seats is blocked. Four seats 21, 34 (E, F, G) and 35 rows have a similar drawback.
  3. The uncomfortable rows in the economy cabin are the last ones, located close to the toilet rooms. There are often queues of other flight passengers wanting to visit the restroom.

Features of passenger seats in the A330-300 Turkish Airlines:

  1. Comfortable seats in the economy cabin are located on rows 11 and 29. There are no other seats in front, but there is a partition installed, with an increased space between it and the seating seats. The disadvantage of these places is that the folding tables are built into the armrests, which makes them immovable.
  2. Chairs with locked backs are located in the 15th row (A, K), in 27 (A, C, N, K), four chairs in the 28th row, in 44 (A, C, N, K) and three chairs in the last row, 45th row. salon.
  3. From rows 16 to 28, panoramic views are hidden from the windows, due to the close proximity of the aircraft’s wings.

Turkish Airlines passengers can pre-select and book an Airbus 330 cabin for a comfortable flight on their chosen route. This service is provided on a paid basis. The cost depends on the direction and tariff. You can clarify this information by phone by calling the airline's central branch located in Moscow.

The first Airbus A330 200 series took off in 1992. Very soon the liners took their place in the sky. When producing these aircraft, the Airbus company pursued the main goal of creating competition for American Boeings. Later, in pursuit of increasing capacity, the A330-300 model appeared, with improved carrying capacity.

Airbus A330-200 and A330-300

Airbuses A330-200 and A330-300 differ little from each other. The main difference is the length of the fuselage. For the A330-200 model it is shorter by about 5 meters. This leads to the following differences: lower carrying capacity and spaciousness of the A330-200. Otherwise, the aircraft are built on the same base, using the same components and engines.

Both aircraft belong to the group of wide-body passenger airliners, making them among the largest civil aircraft in the world. The flight range of Airbuses reaches 11,300 meters, which gives them the status of long-haul aircraft. Due to long-distance flights, the crew and flight attendants have the opportunity to rest on board the aircraft. The aircraft of this model range are equipped with 2 engines.

Comfort on board

Much has been done on board to ensure a high level of passenger comfort. Airbuses A330-300 and A330-200 belong to the same family. They provide convenient passages. Depending on the interior layout, there can be 2 or more.

Different modifications of the A330-200 and A330-300 may differ in capacity. This depends on the class of cabin installed on board. The Airbus A330-300 is the most spacious in its class and can carry a maximum of 440 people.

In those aircraft that have a large number of business class seats, the maximum number of passengers is no longer more than 295.

In terms of passenger comfort, Airbuses are among the leaders among all modern analogues. The planes are equipped with comfortable seats, and in general the cabin layout is good. It is commonplace to find individual lighting on board an Airbus.

Many passengers note the excellent performance of ventilation: the cabin is never stuffy. There are, of course, monitors for each passenger on the A330-300 and A330-200 airliners. Most planes have in-flight internet capabilities.

In addition to the fact that each Airbus passenger can watch a large number of films to choose from, there is a special opportunity to view video from an external surveillance camera installed on the nose of the aircraft.

A330-200 interior layout

Most Airbus A330-200 and A330-300 aircraft are equipped with business and economy class seats. But there are some, quite rare, models that provide passengers with three options for amenities: business class, first and economy.

If we consider such large carriers as Nord Wind, Turkish Airlines and Qatar Airlines, then their fleet for the most part consists of the most popular versions of the Airbus A330-200 aircraft.

Nord Wind

The Nord Wind company is one of the ten largest Russian carriers. The airline started with 3 aircraft, but currently has dozens of aircraft on its staff, among which you can find Airbus A330-200. Despite the carrier's focus on the availability of flights, these aircraft are equipped with increased comfort seats. They have 24 business class seats. These are the most comfortable seats on these liners.

Economy class has 279 seats. They are no different from similar places on similar ships. But keep in mind that those rows located next to the exits, although they boast greater legroom, do not have individual multimedia screens.

Turkish Airlines

Turkey's leading carrier operates A330-200 aircraft capable of carrying 250, 281 and 286 people at a time. The number of passengers directly depends on how many business class seats are allocated on board. The more seats of increased comfort, the fewer people the ship can take on board.

The most common model of the Airbus A330-200 at Turkish Airlines is the version with 250 seats. In this arrangement, economy class seats start from the 5th row. The second half of budget seats continues from row 22.

Of course, there is nothing more convenient than those seats located in the business compartment of the aircraft. But you will be very lucky if, when choosing the economic sector, you get rows 5 or 22. The toilets are located at a sufficient distance from them, and the main advantage is increased legroom, since there will be no seats in front of you.

Qatar Airways

Qatar Airways operates 37 Airbus A330-200 aircraft. The planes of this company receive deservedly good ratings from passengers, as they provide a high-quality level of service. Traditionally, there are business class seats on board Airbuses. Budget seat options, as in other models of these aircraft, have their pros and cons. It is most convenient to sit near the exits of the plane, as there is the most legroom. But some planes do not have screens in front of such seats.

The Airbus A330-300 is a very spacious aircraft, so many companies appreciate the combination of large payload capacity and reduced cost of flights in one aircraft. Aeroflot, Turkish Airlines and IFly airlines have models of these airliners in their fleet. Depending on the location of the cabin, different modifications are used on flights, but in general terms they are practically no different from each other. The aircraft are capable of carrying 295 passengers in a three-class configuration, 335 in a two-class configuration and more than 400 in a single-class configuration.

Aeroflot

The different Airbus models that Aeroflot uses offer many business class seats. So, if you buy a ticket from this airline on an A330-300 aircraft, you can be sure that from 28 to 36 seats on board will provide customers with an increased level of comfort. As with all aircraft models, it is almost impossible to find any cons in business class seats.

For those traveling with children, rows 11 and 29 will seem very convenient. There will be a lot of space in front of your seat, and besides, your child will be next to you, whose cradle is fixed in specially provided mounts. On the other hand, children often make a lot of noise, so if you are seated next to strangers, especially loud ones, the flight will not be much fun for you.

It is worth noting that all economy class seats on A330-300 aircraft are distinguished by a high level of comfort. All of them are equipped with individual sockets for gadgets, and a comfortable footrest is provided for the feet. The chairs themselves are soft and pleasant for the back.

It is no coincidence that Airbus aircraft are in high demand among both carriers and passengers. Even budget seats provide a good level of comfort and entertainment, not to mention business class. Among other things, it is worth noting that the aircraft of this French company are very reliable, as confirmed by years of uninterrupted flights.

Turkish Airlines flight check-in online

Online check-in for a Turkish Airlines flight is possible via the Internet or directly at the airport. Passengers with children under two years of age and airline customers with checked baggage are required to check in at the airport. To check in for a flight online, you need to follow the link to the official website of the representative and follow the instructions:

  1. The online registration process starts one day before the plane's departure, but no later than 2 hours before the plane takes off - register in a timely manner.
  2. A maximum of four people can register for one ticket reservation at a time.
  3. When registering, you must enter your passport details, flight information and a reservation code that is sent by email.
  4. During the online check-in process, you can choose a seat in the cabin and check in your luggage.

The advantages of registering in the Online Check-In system are obvious: registration can be easily done directly from the office or home; after arriving at the airport, there is no need to go to the check-in counter, since the passenger prints out the boarding pass independently, which saves time and allows you to choose a seat on the plane.

The instructions for online registration include switching to the Online Check-In service, after which the passenger is asked to follow a simple algorithm: enter the first and last name in English. To start registration only for the mentioned passenger, you need to press E-Ticket (a thirteen-digit numeric expression in the “Ticket Number” column, which is in the passenger’s hands) or go to the booking directory (PNR is a six-digit alphabetic code on the ticket).

Russian language is not available during registration. It is necessary to check the box that the client has been warned about the need to store information about the reservation and e-ticket number for his own safety. After entering the data, the passenger clicks the “Continue” tab, which, if all actions are performed correctly, lights up green, and proceeds to selecting a seat in the cabin.

The service provides a detailed diagram of the seating arrangement. Use the mouse button to indicate the selected seat - the passenger's last name will appear above it. Next, the system will redirect the user to print the boarding pass. After pressing the Print button, it is no longer possible to change the selected seat on board. The passenger presents the printed ticket at the airport counter before boarding.

Important!

  • Not all airports offer online registration; this information must be checked with the administration in advance.
  • Regarding the booking rules, you need to know that you can refuse a ticket (cancel the reservation) no later than twelve hours before the flight departure, provided that the purchased ticket has not yet been issued.
  • Refunds can be obtained in the country where the ticket was issued.
  • There is a fine for returning a ticket.
  • If your flight is less than 12 hours away, you can cancel your flight through the airline's service center. This applies to non-international flights. After the plane departs, the ticket price is not refunded.

Baggage and hand luggage rules

Turkish Airlines sets certain rules for passengers regarding the carriage of baggage and hand luggage. The requirements are quite strict and must be strictly followed.

Table 1. Free baggage allowance to European and Asian countries

Table 2. Free baggage allowance to North American countries (USA and Canada)

The maximum weight of hand luggage on a Turkish Airlines flight is always the same and does not depend on the direction and class of service of the flight.

Table 3. Weight allowance for free carry-on luggage

If a passenger wishes to carry more hand luggage, it will be placed in checked baggage with an additional charge at the company's current rate of six dollars for each additional kilogram. For any piece of luggage exceeding 32 kg, an additional payment must be made. For carrying bulky items in the cabin, you must pay the full cost of the flight ticket.

Turkish Airlines has strict rules regarding the contents of passengers' luggage. In particular, it is prohibited to transport cargo that threatens flight safety, flammable substances and liquids, suitcases with alarms and other items, a detailed list of which is available on the official website (). Here you can also find out the tariffs for paid luggage transportation, since the company’s prices change periodically. All transported items are subject to inspection at the airport.

Flight rules for certain categories of passengers

According to Turkish Airlines regulations, children under three years of age must travel accompanied by an adult. Infants under two days old are not allowed on the flight, and a certificate is required for a child two to seven days old. Children three to seven years old can fly under the supervision of airline employees without additional payment for the service. To put a child 7-12 years old on board, adult accompaniment is required until takeoff, and upon arrival at the destination, the minor passenger is met by parents, guardians, and authorized representatives.

Pregnant women over 28 weeks are not accepted on board. A woman with a shorter term must provide medical permission and a certificate of no contraindications to the flight. The permit is issued 1-7 days before travel. Passengers with disabilities board without a certificate or an accompanying person. Sick passengers present a certificate stating that they are not prohibited from flying on an airplane due to health reasons. Persons requiring special care must be accompanied by a companion and stretcher requests must be made 24 hours prior to flight departure. Passengers on transit flights with a waiting time in Istanbul of more than six hours are offered a free city tour. If the waiting time between flights exceeds 10 hours, economy class passengers receive a free hotel room, and customers traveling in business class in transit can count on a hotel room and transfer with a waiting time of 7 hours or more. When traveling with animals, you need to have a special permit on hand regarding vaccinations and the pet’s health status. In the cabin, animals weighing no more than 6 kg are transported in cages. Animals in transport luggage containers are charged at a rate per kilogram.

Meals on board the airliner

To ensure that the flight provides passengers with maximum comfort, Turkish Airlines offers food and drinks during the flight. The assortment depends on the class of service. Everyone is given cutlery and menus. The passenger can choose a meal from two to three courses; the volume of drinks consumed is not limited.

Table 4. Meals on board Turkish Airlines

Special meals for small children and other categories of passengers must be booked in advance. In terms of the quality and variety of in-flight meals, Turkish Airlines occupies one of the leading positions among air carriers. Passengers who are not satisfied with the classic menu can book special meals on board the aircraft.

Reservation and purchase of special dishes includes: children's, vegetarian, Asian, strict vegetarian, diabetic meals. You can order a menu low in fat, salt, protein, purine, lactose or order non-spicy, kosher, Muslim, Hindu, oriental food. Passengers are offered a special menu for the special occasion with cake and champagne.

Turkish Airlines' fleet consists of reliable, modern aircraft. The aircraft fleet includes 288 aircraft. The age of the “youngest” aircraft is several months, the average one is 6 years. The oldest airliner has been flying for 20 years. All aircraft are designed for medium-haul flights.

  • The Turkish Airlines fleet includes two Boeing 737-700 aircraft (10 years each).
  • The basis of the air fleet consists of 74 Boeing 737-800 aircraft, whose age ranges from 0 to 17.6 years.

  • The list of comfortable airliners is completed by 33 Boeing 777-300 aircraft - ships no older than seven years.

The company's aircraft fleet is not limited to Boeings. Passengers can enjoy flights in the cabins of four Airbus A340-300 airliners (15.9-20 years old), thirty practically new Airbus A330-300 aircraft - airliners no older than six years. You can fly on one of 20 Airbus A330-200s, the oldest of which is no more than 14 years old. In addition, the airline's fleet includes 9 Airbus A321-200 aircraft and 29 Airbus A320-200 airliners (0.0-12.1 years old), and a Cargo cargo airliner. The company's aircraft carry from 150 to 200 passengers, depending on the aircraft model and class of service.

Passengers can purchase tickets online and reserve a seat on the aircraft by first viewing seating layouts. Detailed interior diagrams of Turkish Airlines aircraft are available for viewing when checking in for a flight. The diagrams are different for different airliner models. You can preview the Airbus and Boeing diagrams by following the link.

Miles&Smiles program

In order to increase the level of passenger confidence and attract new customers, Turkish Airlines is implementing the Miles&Smiles loyalty program. For each flight, passengers receive cumulative bonuses. All program participants have advantages when checking in for a flight, an advantageous position when being placed on the waiting list, and the opportunity to choose special in-flight meals.

Passengers under the Miles&Smiles loyalty program are assigned one of four levels from “Classic” to “Elite Plus”. Miles are accumulated when flying or participating in promotions of Turkish Airlines partner companies. Obtaining status allows you to purchase tickets cheaper, enjoy free flights, and gives you advantages when servicing at ground ticket offices and choosing VIP lounges.

The Miles&Smiles program gives the right to buy business class tickets with a fifty percent discount for a companion passenger. Customers of the air carrier with an Elite Plus card have access to preferential bookings for economy class flights three days before departure, and business class flights two days before the flight. Program participants have the opportunity to carry additional baggage free of charge (10, 20, 25 kg), starting from the Classic Plus level.

Bonus points include flight miles and club miles earned on flights with partner airlines. Any passenger over two years of age can become a participant in the program. Clients with Elite Plus status receive the greatest benefits of flying cheaply; holders of Classic status have fewer privileges.

The Airbus A330-200 is one of the representatives of the A330 group. Compared to its colleagues, it is considered the shortest aircraft. There is a spacious cargo compartment under the passenger compartment. The A330-200 is used for flights over a variety of distances - from short to very impressive. The flight range reaches a maximum of 13,400 km. The Airbus is very popular among transport companies and passenger carriers.

With a relatively small size, the liner has two cabin models: a two-class cabin, capable of carrying 300 people at a time, and a three-class cabin, consisting of economy, first and business class, and designed for 253 people.

One of the largest Russian carrier companies, Aeroflot, successfully uses the airbus A330-200 for flights from Moscow around the world. Let's take a look at the air showroom layout and figure out which places are worthy of attention and which ones should not be taken if possible.

Business Class

Seats intended for business class ticket holders are located from rows 1 to 6. Each row consists of 6 seats, which are arranged in pairs on both sides and in the middle. The seats in these rows are very comfortable and can recline 180 degrees, allowing you to take a horizontal position. In addition, the row spacing is quite wide. But despite everything, this class also has its shortcomings.

Row 1 to 4 located very close to the kitchen, this can cause discomfort due to fuss and various odors.

Row 5 is located directly from the restroom, which is why it can also be very inconvenient.

Row 6 located close to the initial one, that is, the 11th row of economy class. This row contains mounts for bassinets, so your neighbors will be passengers with babies.

Economy class

Economy class seats are located from rows 11 to 37.

On rows 11 to 24 There are standard economy class seats with reclining backs, but due to the partition in front of them and the monitors mounted in the armrests, the seats cannot be considered comfortable enough. Also, large monitors that are located near these seats and do not go off even at night can prevent you from falling asleep.

Row 23 located directly next to the toilet rooms, the constant movement of passengers and other possible troubles do not allow this row to be considered comfortable.

Seats A, C, H, K on row 24 have an advantage over others due to the close location of emergency exits. Due to this, the space for legs and for moving around the row increases. The disadvantages include, again, the close location of the toilet room.

Seats D, E, F, G on row 24 also cannot be considered very comfortable due to the presence of large monitors that are always on, as well as the possible proximity of small children - there are mounts for bassinets on this row.

From row 33 The fuselage of the Airbus begins to narrow; this is not very noticeable, but it can still cause some inconvenience. Sometimes under the front seats there are huge metal boxes for storing equipment, and this limits the free space in the front.

In row 34 seats D and G protrude into the aisle a little more, so other passengers and flight attendants may “stumble” over them.

Row 35 not very convenient due to the fact that the distance between it and the previous row is less than standard.

Rows 36 and 37, as well as 23 are located near the toilets. The choice of the extreme places of these rows is not the best for this very reason.

Modification for NordWind airline

The fleet of another major Russian carrier uses the Airbus A330-200. Nord Wind (North Wind) is one of the top ten Russian transportation leaders and is focused on flight accessibility. But, despite this, the company’s liners are equipped with 24 luxury seats. Economy class is represented by 279 standard seats. Basically, all seats are equipped with multimedia monitors, except those located next to emergency exits, but they have more legroom than others.

Modification for ifly airline

Many charter companies are introducing the airbus A330-200 into service. Among them is the Russian company IFly. Two Airbus A330s fly under its logo.

The layout of the passenger cabin of the airliner used by iPhone can have four layout options:

  • The total passenger cabin capacity of the Airbus 330 i fly is 387 people. The air show is not divided into classes. Seats located at emergency exits: 36A, 36C, 36H, 36K.
  • First class is allocated 19 luxury seats, the rest of the seats are standard, their number is 268 pieces. Emergency exit seats: 36A, 36C, 36H, 36K
  • Standard seats are enough for 263 passengers. First class is designed for 48 people. Additional comfort is created by the increased space between the seats. Seats located at emergency exits: 26 A, 26B, 26J, 26K; 39B, 39J; 40D, 40F.
  • There are 251 standard seats in the Airbus cabin. The first class cabin has 18 seats. Seats located at emergency exits: 24A, 24B, 24H, 24K.

Modification for Turkish Airlines

Not only representatives of Russian air carriers actively use the Airbus 330-200. The leading representative of Turkish airlines uses several such airliners on their staff, with a capacity of 250, 281, and 286 passengers at a time. The number of passengers directly depends on how many seats are in business class. The more seats there are, the fewer the total number of people the plane can take on board.

Most often, representatives of Turkish airlines use a cabin layout with 250 seats. With this scheme, business class occupies rows 1 to 5, and economy class starts from rows 5 and 22. Please note that the most comfortable seats are in business class, but if you can buy a ticket to row 5 or row 22 in economy class, you can also get a good deal. The reason for this is the sufficient distance from the toilet rooms and the absence of the previous row - as a result, increased legroom.

The Airbus 330 200 is firmly at the forefront of the passenger transport market, especially when long flights are required. It owes its primacy to the degree of comfort that its developers provided for any interior configuration.

Its long-term demand is explained by its flight characteristics, ease of maintenance and cost-effectiveness. The production of this airbus does not stop at the moment.
